Cause yall swear yall be normal but really low-key high but looking at me like I'm crazy. I kno I'm crazy but ADHD ppl think your the problem. No ma'am or sir it's you.
Some of the things people don’t know about ADHD is that… there’s so much chaos and noise in our heads and Its kinda creepy how silent and calm things are with medication
After 34 years, I was diagnosed with ADHD this week. I was prescribed adderall yesterday, and when it hit, I could not believe how silent my mind was. No overwhelming brain chatter, thoughts, ect. I can actually focus! Was so shocked. This is how other people are able to think?! DAILY?!?!? I teared up, it is been absolute bliss. I woke up today, took the adderall and proceeded to get everything I needed to do done with an hour to spare. Previously, I'd be distracted by every little thing that needed done or caught my eye and my own thoughts, then nothing would get done fully and id be rushed and out of time. The silence is going to take some getting used to. Ive been in a static fog for 34 years basically so not being in it is strange. But focus is amazing and worth it!
Right? I was also 34, last year, and the epiphany I had when the "brain radio" turned off was mind-blowing, the only time I felt similar was 10 years ago when I got SSRI for my (then) severe depression. Some people would be crying in the media about "junkies" who "extort drugs to get high", and you just ask your doc "wait...do other people NOT cry for hours daily and can do other things by default?"... If somebody didn't experience this it can be so unimaginable... O-O
it shuts off or really slows down the constant thinking and inside voices. It’s nice being able to just focus on something and not having all mind clutter, ideas, thinking voices, etc..
I thought everyone did that. Thinking a lot. It's normal. Sometimes I have to read something over and over to understand what it means. Do I have adhd. Cause I'm really lazy. 🤔
i'm not diagnosed but i really can't focus on anything for a while. taking adderall seems interesting to me because of what people say, but idk if i have adhd or not and it's gonna fuck me up or something.
I havent taken any meds. My inner monologue or rather dialogue has always been strong within me. It fogged down quite a bit over the years I learned to ignore it, but give me a moment of lack of stimuli and the first thing I notice is the noise. I cant fall asleep without a distraction since ever, and when I do, its out of exhaustion. 28, never medicated, always struggled with the simplest tasks. If I've been able to have episodes of functionality without the meds, I absolutely wonder how it would be on medication. You guys should consider yourself lucky. I could probably manage to stuff down that sandwich regardless of whether I'm hungry or not, since I somehow manage to get to eat while caffeinating myself.
Most frustrating things about ADHD as an adult: Taking forever to complete one task because you get so distracted by other tasks that weren't even planned nor necessary to complete the one, having numerous multitasking going on at once, the amount of post-its you use and other self created reminders, trying to look up one thing but venturing off to about 15 other things, having insomnia because your brain does cardio at night or because you randomly get the urge to research whether giraffes can dance, explaining one thing that leads to at least 10 "long story short but still long" details, etc...
Finally a comment on what it’s actually like to have adhd. Less popular since everyone in this comment section is people without it claiming to have it, or trying to sucker meds out of their doctor … disgusting behavior
The worse part is that I teach...I used a technology example for a math problem one day. I then went into comparing the ideologies behind the Jetsons and the Flintstones and how we're moving closer to living like the Jetsons. Anyway, at the end of it all, the little boy's name on the Jetson's was Elroy and the Flintstones' boss's daughter was named Concretia because he owned the concrete business. I had to look it up because I couldn't remember the kids' name and my students didn't know. I swear the initial example had to do with the distance a drone could cover...
Once he sat down, I literally thought to myself “If that kicks in right about now, he probably won’t even wanna eat that”. I was bones when I was medicated because I had zero appetite.
@@MiQuentin yea okay say what u want! It gives u light effects like meth. People that have have adhd that do meth tend to chill out when they are on it.
Basically the feeling of ADHD is something like where your brain just thinks of the most hardest questions in humanity and then you somehow answer it and it makes sense
compose songs and when I make them as the song is heard armed in the head with all the arrangements made must be the TDHA keep insisting we are misunderstood geniuses because we have to adapt to the world is the world that must adapt to us I once heard a guy who was a psychologist told me that they put the TDHA as an example to follow in some schools is what they should do but the other way around we are seen as a threat to school stability of students I say this because of my time in school
I like to quote the movie 'Lucy' instead "I feel everything. The space, the air, the vibrations, the people, I can feel the gravity, I can feel the rotation of the earth, the heat leaving my body, the blood in my veins, I can feel my brain, the deepest parts of my memory"
The first time taking Adderall was so weird. I felt like I could actually read and concentrate instead of having a million conversations in my head going on a the same time 😂
Omfg the first time I drove was actually the first time I took adderall was so wild, like I wasn’t overwhelmed with everything happening around me when driving
@@GamingDad I loved it, I felt like I could actually just concentrate on one thought at a time. I have adhd so I don't produce dopamine no where near the same as someone who doesn't have adhd. That Adderall contains amphetamines which produce dopamine when I take It and allows me to produce more dopamine to reach normal levels. So Adderall for me basically makes me think and act normally lmao. Adderall for someone who doesn't have a certain neurological disorder/ mental illness will make it feel like you're on speed all day lol
@@GamingDad I'm not sure to the full extent of what low dopamine does to me as I have a few issues I struggle with. So I use other medications just to help me throughout the day lol
As someone with ADHD who takes a similar kind of medicine, this is literally what it's like. You're able to work for hours but your brain tells you "Lunch? What's lunch?"
Yep! It helps me get through the workday, but it also makes sudden transitions in tasks infinitely harder lol. Not to mention only being able to eat when it starts wearing off so I try to eat when I take a dose....
@@amgirl4286 talk to him about it. It's usually started out low and then adjusted based on the individual. Which isn't really based off of anything like weight or age, rather what works for you. Some heavy set man may only need a low dose, while a child thrives off of a higher dose. Also, maybe a different medication. I took Ritalin for 8 months before I realized it did nothing for me and I was so frustrated. My doctor changed me over to Adderall and it's like a light switch. Each person's response is different, and it really only takes experimenting to find out.
I don't know about Adderall but I just started Vyvanse and I cried when the clarity of mind hit cause the first time ever in my life I was FINALLY in control of my own mind 🥰 best day I EVER had and that's just day 1!!! Here's hoping day 2 is as amazing too!!!
How are you doing?! I was finally diagnosed this week and I'm on my second day of adderall. I completely understand how you feel. I cried too! I wasn't expecting the clarity and focus. You don't know any different when you've gone your whole life with brain chaos
@@katholeenloveit8923 sadly the dose was too high (50mg) so stopped taking it after 3 days till I can get it fixed (it kept me up for 3 days 😅) but I fully intend on getting back on them 110% cause it was too good to be true with the clarity of mind 😑
Heyyy welcome to the party! Vyvanse is great stuff. Completely changed my life. Overnight, (not really bc of course I don't take it before bed for obvious reasons but you get the idea), I went from a non-productive, depressed mess who couldn't help but drag her feet on just about everything, even things I love and feeling so awful and down, because I couldn't get anything done, as well as constantly comparing myself to neurotypicals and feeling so jealous of their "normalcy" to feeling like HOLY SHIT THIS IS WHAT LIFE IS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE? WOOOOOOOO I CAN GET SHIT DONE??? I CAN PARTICIPATE IN GROUP LEARNING? I CAN GET SCHOOLWORK DONE?? I CAN ACTUALLY USE UP MY ENERGY IN THE DAY AND SLEEP WELL AT NIGHT??? It's a similar, but far more intense feeling to the one I get as a person with asthma whenever I have a mint candy like a mentos or whatever, and I remember what being able to breathe freely is like without phlegm stuffing up the already limited area of my windpipe... ...if you haven't already guessed I'm so used to having asthma that I rarely use my inhaler because I don't register minor breathing difficulties as a problem. oops.
@@LDZombie 50mg can be a lot for when you're just starting out. As with many psychiatric medications, you'll want to start out slow, especially since Vyvanse is a stimulant. Over time you'll build a tolerance and will go higher on dosage (under your doctor's supervision, of course.) Stimulants can be a lot when you've only just started them and they can fuck with your sleep and heart immensely if you take them at the wrong time or take more than your body can handle at a given time. The way you've written it, it sounds like you've stopped cold turkey, am I correct? Just with going up, if you're stopping stimulants you need to go down gradually over a few days or more depending on the size of your dose, or you will crash, badly. Glad you got so much help out of them though! As long as you're using them properly under a doctor's supervision Vyvanse can really change your life for the better. Hopefully you'll be able to get your hands on lower dosage tablets/pills and start up again soon. Best of luck to you!

Nah. It's just those 3 seconds of when you feel the meds actually kick in. Then you go into normal mode. I've taken Adderall for like 20 years and it can still feel like the video portrayed when it starts to kick in on bad adhd days.
Idk it's listed as a side effect and some adhd people also say they loose their appetite. I luckily don't loose it, but I'm full way quicker then before :D I guess that's the best outcome
Очень прикольно знать, что во всем мире люди с СДВГ, при приеме стимуляторов испытывают одинаковое ощущение, когда чувствуешь себя нормальным и мысли перестают прыгать. Сдвг привет из России
As someone with ADHD I thought the whole point was how impressive it was that he made himself a meal and got to the table... just completing a basic morning task. That’s how kind blowing and life changing adderall is for me!! I can’t do basic tasks without it... but now reading the comments, I think a lot of people take it for much different reasons🤔😅 I envy you easy sandwich makers!
the people who can make sandwiches without it don’t really need it.. i forget to do my basic tasks for living like showering and drinking water because my brain is so busy and i forget all the time
Can you describe the feeling exactly? Because I was just diagnosed with bipolar 1 earlier this year and can't get myself out of bed, for the most part. Is that what you're talking about? I'm just curious if ADHD and bipolar 1 symptoms overlap and how to know the difference. I already got misdiagnosed with BPD😒 The worst.
I was severely traumatized years ago as a teenage, got diagnosed with ADHD, spent my whole life fighting ADHD. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.
I'm so very happy for you, Psilocybin is absolutely amazing, the way it shows you things, the way it teaches you things. I can not believe our world and our people shows less interest about it's helpfulness to humanity. It's love. The mushrooms heals people by showing the truth, it would be so beneficial for so many people, especially politicians and the rich who have lost their way and every other persons out there.
Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Germany don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏
YES very sure of Dr.alishrooms. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, BPD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!
Thank you so much for this video!! The constant mean voice in your head and feeling like you don't have a reason to struggle, like you're just a terrible person... It's just too relatable... Anyway hope you're better now!

@@natashaherrera5534I know you didn’t ask me, but I have ADHD too and I had to stop taking the medication, because of all the side-effects. My fingertips were always icecold, often purple nails, so were my toes. I developed a horrible rash on my stomach, it was hot like a stovetop and itchy as f***. My neck was painfully tense and I had to remind myself to talk slowly and blink from time to time. I was napping with my eyes wide open. My mouth was very dry. I had difficulties sleeping at night. My heart was pounding at a terrifying pace, like I was running. My heart started hurting and my OTC-value went up a bit more every time I had a check up at the doctor. It was very unpleasant and painful. So I was asked to stop taking the medication immediately. And I feel a lot better physically. Even though I need more breaks and more time and energy for little tasks than other people but I like it better this way. Feels more natural and I‘m more myself.
The first time I took mine (after the doctor suspected it would help since the other meds he tried didn’t) and I literally cried to my mom I remember telling her how I can think clearly now like it’s not all just words and everything being literally thrown at me where I’m just in the middle of it all left to sort out the mess like it’s all so clear and I literally was in tears like “this is how it should be” I hardly remember that now, I was about 16 then and stayed on it until I was about 21 when I had to get a new adult dr who then decided that I didn’t have adhd and it was only a bandaid for me and she didn’t want me on it anymore, and that really hurt because all that I worked so hard for like for the first time in my life I felt like I was able to catch up like for once I was going and doing good (and even feeling good about it all) but sadly it couldn’t last because when I didn’t have the meds anymore I just had to watch it all crash and burn because I wasn’t able to keep up with it all or her and tbh i don’t ever think I’ll get over that one because it’s like oh how it could all be so different ..how I would be so different but that’s only because I am too like duh lol
Can't you go to another doctor, who could possibly prescribe you Adderall? Like to get a second opinion (or rather third in your case) It's kinda questionable to have a solution to your problem, that increases the quality of your life, and not use it. Does your doctor think there is another way for you to get your problem resolved that requires time and not to use Adderall?
@@frogbrain944 I’ve had like four of them already just as an adult lol so like already tired that lol and that’s kinda the problem tho like I guess when they ask you if you’ve had any that has worked and I tell them that, it’s not an appropriate answer for me to say that I liked the adderall the best (even tho it was, as it worked to help me in many ways a lot of which was more than any other one/s I’ve tried) and it’s like it shouldn’t be this hard exactly but it is and along with already being severely depressed it’s like just too much (especially considering I went to the same place, just different doctor, yet still it’s the same thing as if it never happened) I really don’t know what to do anymore tho it’s been years of me fighting and trying, I’ve never had a job, never had a relationship of any kind even friends because I am not able to keep up long enough to even have that lol (each time I try to get on some kinda disability they end up denying it because none of my doctors want to help me there too, as if them doing that to me ain’t causing more damage lol like thanks to mom for not kicking me out over all these years?) Side note that is kinda relating to this as well, the anxiety, I have been diagnosed with with severe anxiety and have even been given Xanax before from again that one kids psych as well as a primary doctor and it’s so funny to me because this is not new like ever since I was little (like 8 or so?) the only one thing that everyone was able to agree on (because a lot of them didn’t know what it was that was ‘wrong’ but knew it was something bigger then what they could do) but it was that my depression and anxiety were a problem and a severe one at that. I’d think that would qualify for anxiety medicine like something as needed you know like something that will help if it becomes bad or if I had something that I had to do that’s important yet my body physically works against me, like I mean it’s not far off and I’ve heard it be a thing where you can get allowed a set number for the month like that just in case would be a huge weight lifted off my shoulders, but there too I guess it’s not bad enough or something? … or maybe I’ve internalized it all like I know for a fact it’s there I had flashbacks and stuff in middle/ high school lol like sure they don’t happen as frequently anymore but they still like to pop back up for a day or two, and in that case I am only powerless, it’s just me and my brain/ body that I get to sit and suffer with myself, quite literally tho and I mean I get it like sure who would want that lol I mean heck I don’t even want it lol but too bad that it’s about all I know, so there really is nothing else. Still makes me sad tho lol like I can feel it, the spiral, it pulls at me and all I can do is just stay still because if I don’t move then nothing bad will happen, just resist it. Always.
*Not me. On Adderall, I eat, have an appetite, and enjoy eating. I will say that I'm not as bothered/impatient/mad/desperate/sad before eating and feeling hunger pangs when I'm on it. I miss being on Adderall. I could actually watch things without feeling like I needed a break literally 5 minutes into it.*
*When I first started taking it, I definitely didn't have much of an appetite, though... but like a month into it, my appetite was normal. I'd actually be eating a LOT. Getting pastrami sandwiches in a bodega around the corner from my sister's house and walking back home was the shit. I loved it.*
*Life definitely FEELS easier on Adderall. I wouldn't necessarily say that things in general get easier, but they definitely FEEL easier to handle and not too OTT overwhelming.*
Hey fellow AuDHD! I agree. Neurodivergent people can end up being some of your best friends for life, even if they have their own quirks that make them seem really different from everyone else. That's not to say that neurotypical people can't also end up being your best friends, but with NDs conversations and everyday interactions become so much more passionate and interesting!
I NEVER had a positive experience with any ADHD medication, they all made me anti social, depressed, couldn't even sleep or eat, it amazed me to actually see people have good experiences with it
It is a double edged sword unfortunately. People don’t understand the struggle. I take the lowest dose at 31 and still wrestle with my appetite afterward. Mentally it helps a lot. Unfortunately some states have over regulated it to the point that it requires same day pick up on the prescriptions. Luckily I’m in a state that allows me to pick it up within the week
Sadly this is the truth. Medications don't seem to do a whole lot for me. Though I wish they did. I would feel so much more confident, and I wouldn't care if it made me feel like trash
I had a coworker one time take her meds and that's how I knew her. One day, she was all jumpy, smily, happy, hoppy, and helpful. I was like who are you and why aren't you like this more often? When she was on her meds....I hated her.
I’ve personally never had this experience and I’ve also never heard of anyone legitimately diagnosed by a psychiatrist as having ADHD that has had a reaction like this in my life. It’s not impossible, but again 🤷🏻♂️. Before I was diagnosed, there would be random, nonsensical thoughts mixed in with 2-3 different songs, full commercials, my inner “Milton” ruminating that I haven’t checked my oil in almost a year and why did I come in to the kitchen? About a week after having started my prescription, thoughts have become linear, the songs & commercials have quieted down almost completely, “Milton” has chilled the F out, and I still don’t remember why I walked in to the kitchen.
I wonder which part you're talking about, cause I think the punchline is the gag that I experience with most meds (maybe not that much with delayed-release Concerta). Gotta get some protein in before the pill, or eating is undoable for a few hours. The "answers to everything in the universe" are not really that relatable, but I think it's just a "artistic choice" to demonstrate the meds kicking in and thoughts making sense - but it's definitely not like that IRL. ...But my sandwich doesn't really turn into macaroni either, it's just impossible to eat without gagging ;)
Went my whole life undiagnosed and got diagnosed and prescribed 20mg tablets. It has changed my life, I legit cried the first time I used it cuz I finally felt normal
I feel this! I was 31 before being diagnosed and, now that I'm being treated, it's like night and day! I had just assumed everyone forgot everything, and had piles everywhere, zoned out mid convo, hyperfocused on things for days, and their inner voice was constant hahaha! It was an amazing feeling to finally understand myself a little better😀. I'm way less critical of myself now, I just work with my strengths and try to manage my challenges!
Yes! I take my meds before getting in the shower every morning and then they kick in while I'm in there and I have this "zing!" moment where I feel like I'm coming out of a coma. My first clear thoughts of the day happen while I'm showering; I plan out everything I'm going to do for the day, I pep talk myself, I do positive affirmations for the day, I let my mind wander and end up stumbling upon answers/solutions to various questions/problems in my life. Shower time is one of my favorite parts of my day.
@@theempireofjudah9315 For neurotypical brains, yes. Weed is generally problematic for people who have executive functioning disorders like ADD and ADHD. I do smoke weed and eat edibles, but it's the last thing I do at night when I want to sleep because it shuts my brain off. The combined types of ADD that I have keep my brain in a shut down state all of the time unless I take my meds, so the last thing I need is something that will mellow me out- I function best on stimulant based meds, or "uppers". Another symptom of my ADDs is that I hyperfocus- my brain zeros in on one thing, gets stuck in a loop and then I can't multitask or even think about other things at the same time. And if my hyperfocus is broken then it's extremely hard for me to get back into the task I was doing before I got distracted. That's really bad for my job where I have to be alert, able to work on several things at a time and be able to easily switch gears. Sativas tend to enhance your focus and I definitely don't need anymore of that. lol I can see how it might help with the hyperactivity part of ADHD though.

Absolutely. I knew the difference between appetite and hunger _before_ starting my meds, but you REALLY learn the difference when you're on them. I can be f*cking starving physically, look at food and go "...nah, not right now."

I have adhd I had a form of Ritalin, I wouldn't even do the cooking part because I'd forget, it takes away your appetite, it got too expensive so I stopped using them. I left the stressful environment I was in, went to a healthy environment, got a healthy sleep schedule and ate more healthy, I don't feel my symptoms any more unless I have a terrible sleep and ate sugar, iv stopped eating sugars and carbs and mainly eat eggs, meat, cheese, and animal fats like butter, iv never felt more clear in my mind and healthy in my body, I also lost 15 lbs when after a month of this diet, when I quit sugar I went to 160, then the diet brought me down to 150, I only stopped after a coworker with kids got me sick and I needed the calories to keep my immune system up, I still kept the weight off, I haven't rebounded at all. I have so much energy and I can sleep at night, my thoughts are clear and I don't get distracted super easily like I use to, and along side this iv been practicing discipline of the mind, I am able to control my thoughts and spot what aren't my thoughts. I can focus and do good work, it's amazing what eating healthy and having a healthy sleep can do for the brain, brain health is how you avoid brain disorders, another thing that's been studied to help is breathwork or meditation, because it's another form of mental discipline.
@unknown-zx2we focus on better health first, my psychologist would always tell me to get everything in order first before searching for other methods, such as healthy sleep schedule, daily exercise, a healthy diet, low carb, very low sugar, high fat and protein, eggs are very healthy for the brain they are basically everything your brain wants. Stress is a big factor to adhd symptoms, mine always got worse the more stressed i was, I'd even have tourettes symptoms when I was at my worst. Alcohol is terrible for the mind, and too much dopamine stimulation can cause lack of focus, so make sure your environment will have a place to work and focus away from distractions like TV. Then doing stuff like meditation will help that focus become stronger, growing mental will power is necessary as iv learned that pills don't make skills and I was still left with irresponsible time management and I'd focus good on meds but still on the wrong stuff 😅 That's my experience, so if you do all of this and still find you need an extra help, then pills might be an avenue you take for school, unfortunately these are powerful and can cause heart fatigue and ware on your brain, it's not meant to be taken for extended period of time like more than 5 years. I hope this helps your decision, definitely do your own research, but it's good to have another persona take on it through their experiences. 😊

@@NeanderthalDogma I feel like it's an excuse they give themselves for using amphetamine. There's absolutely zero difference between a meth user and someone with an adhd prescription, only one of them is paying less. I hate big farma, even though I don't even live in the US. It ruined so many lives.
Here’s the thing when I had to high of a dose I would go maybe 3 or 4 days without eating. It got so bad that my parents didn’t let me take me medicine on the weekends. Developed a bad habit of my parents wanting me to eat literally anything. Then when I got a lower dose I started eating to much go a little bit of a belly. Now I’m exercising every day and am back in shape.
Meth did the same thing for me. Unfortunately, it came with very nasty side effects and I ended up in jail due to no sleep lash out + withdrawal symptoms. Anyway, its very important to see a qualified professional to get assessed and diagnosed and perhaps even medicated. It sucks to go down the meth rabbit hole and see the men that leer from behind the veil. Self-medication is not the way to go. I regret every day of the years I did meth. Even now I can sometimes see feet running away from me in the corners of my vision. Its scary. And makes it so much harder to get back on the proper meds once it becomes known one has used/uses drugs. I just wanted to put that out there because we're so much more prone to having substance use issues. ❤
@kenziewaltz1714 they are chemically similar. ( don't come at me I've asked. Adderall for literally 20 years) obviously not the same but for some people using meth sadly is their way of self medicating. Like op said, it isn't worth it though and can make it SO difficult to get stimulants prescribed to you.

They know that I support them in whatever they want to do for this. But I still continue to wonder how this effects them and if it is helpful. Just like this mom said, thank you all for sharing about your experience with this. It's so helpful to those who don't understand.

I remember my first time taking it, I was outside listening to music when it kicked in, and suddenly it was like I could FEEL the music and understand and empathize? with it. It was crazy, then I went inside and took a 6 hour nap after being awake for an hour.
Took adderall at a young age. Was a D and F student, 2 months grades gone up A to B's. Lost like 40 pounds was just too cracked out to eat. Wild experience, never again though.
I knew a friend that would eat them like crazy. He had a diary he scribbled all manic thoughts in, he never slept. One day he didn't come home and was missing for 3 days. A tow truck driver found him in his car in a parking lot passed out from sleep deprivation
It's to symbolize the fact that you everything you try to eat or dring is repulsive and have no appetite for days on end it's not like he was so zoned out he made spaghetti o's for a drink and meal
Adderal is fucking terrible for people and gets kid drugged up and make them have mood swings and not wanting to eat at all depending on the of the drug and how old they are I’ve got adhd and it isn’t always like what it’s depicted in the vid
An exact representation of having adhd regardless of medicine😌 Once the kick hits, you suddenly know the answer to complex problems but you shall not eat
Adderall is to slow you down not speed you up. Anyone who reacts like they just consumed cocaine does not have ADHD. The medication has the opposite effect on actual ADHD patients.
@@bigoak4487yes, and no. It's really common if you haven't taken your meds in a while, just started, or just upped them to experience euphoric effects for a few days. Mine usually lasts 3 days then I'm normal again.
I honestly thought the mere fact of you MAKING BREAKFAST was the result of Adderall 🤣 But yes, I can relate to that FULL-HD-COLOR transition in the brain. Then I lose my appetite.
@@Takiki LOL same here - I have zero desire to cook, even on meds! I'd much rather use that boost of energy working on my passion projects than feed myself a healthy meal.
My sons tell me I may have ADHD. Maybe I do but I’m used to an active mind. I also have a genius IQ so just accepted that having an insatiable curiosity came with the territory. I compensate with reminders - tons of them! I remind everyone that my auditory memory sucks - if you don’t put it in writing it won’t happen. Meds? Nah. An active mind is normal to me😊
I Ansbach adhd I took multiple online tests and I checked every vidieo abt it and I relate to each and bc I’m 8 pretty sure I have it BUT WHAT OS ADDERSLL
When he started making the eggs, I was thinking to myself…”how does he still has an appetite, he’s lucky”. Then I realized not having taste for food after taking Adderall was the moral of the story lol
Dude is looking strung out. Didn't really realize that the "meth effects" are so pronounced on someone using D-amphetamine, even though it's analogous to methamphetamine.
I'm on Concerta for my ADHD, so I feel ya. I am also on Stratera too. but still. Adderall It does not work for me. When I started concerta when I was younger it was the only med that worked after we tried everything, so the doctor had to write a letter to the insurance so that they knew this was medically necessary and they had to cover it.
never related to something more , i had a shitty on and off thing going on with aderalls and basically i would only be productive when i took them and on my days off i wouldn’t take them cuz i knew i would just be doing chores if i kept taking them
Just wait till the end of the day when it wears off, you’re gonna go into a dark mood at the end of your day, it may help you focus and calm during your school hours but the side affects after are just not worth it!! Even gives you suicidal thoughts! Nasty alternative to adhd
Yes this was my experience. Then if you take too much you can’t sleep so now you’ve just devolved into a burned out tweeker. Not eating, sleeping, weight loss. So for the people who can take this medication and live a somewhat normal life, good on you, but then there’s the rest of us 😂
@@unknown-zx2we after someone does meth, they go into a comedown, that comedown could include all together, insomnia, depression, intense anxiety, delusions, a lost sense of reality and worse of all the reality that you can’t feel that “high” without the drug
This was my son with food and he was really emotional, blah, and just not “my kid”. I hated it. The only reason he was on it was because his school pushed for it. So I made a deal with his Dad to only have him take it during the school year, to give him a break for the summer, and be evaluated before school started again. He told me he hated the medication as a teen when i finally put my foot down with his Dad. He is a fully functioning adult, owns his home, and works as a butchers apprentice.
Exactly... All the people here talking about extremes, how it helps them be super productive or they completely lose appetite when on it... Guy, you either don't have ADHD (in the US it's highly overdiagnosed compared to everywhere else) or you take a way too high of a dose. This "awaking" when it kicks in, super productivity and focus is you just being fuckin high 🙃
@@eliskaneugebauer5338 exactly, for people without adhd it's like that, but for us it just makes us normal and able to do mundane shit without getting distracted
That was me for many years. I got so exhausted getting to manage it on my own. I finally caved, but our insurance sucks and it costs me a lot of money out of pocket due to high deductible. kind of wish I did this back when I had good insurance 😭
Go find a Dr! I swear you won’t regret it! I was untreated for 30 years before I finally took that step and I’m so glad I did. Best thing that has ever happened to me!
Lol this was the opposite for me. I just got diagnosed with ADHD at 31 because I never got tested until recently. I always fell behind in school since I could never pay attention or remember anything from class. Whenever someone talks to me I pay attention for a minute, then I start to think of other things, and forget I was talking to the person. I was always at the bottom in school but when it came to actually working in my career I was always on top. So when my diagnoses came back positive and they prescribed me with ADHD medication. I popped it right in my mouth to see what would happen. Within 30 minutes my mind was so empty and calm. My millions of thoughts were gone and it was just me. It was really weird at first and eye opening but I was able to do things really easily that I didn’t want to before. I could sit down and focus on studying. I could listen to lectures without trying to do something or think of something else. It was just really easy for me to accomplish tasks without losing focus.
Omg, I'm on a slow release now, so I was watching like "yeah, not that much of a bang, but like half an hour of getting more focused on my work mailbox until I notice I am not steering away anymore" and then the gag just hits XD Omg, this one xD
When I took my ADHD medicine for the first time in 8th grade my history teacher called my mum to thank her for listening to me when I said I needed help with my day to day life…..because I found assignments from like five months back in my locker and handed them all in and she thought I had done all of them in two days because of my meds 🗿🗿🗿
Omg ok but I would actually do stuff like this. I would have literally no motivation to do anything then hyper focus for a day and do all my homework before the last second (suspension)
@Luke Sweeting exactly it’s legit Methamphetamine and we prescribe this stuff to little kids 🙄 they put me on adderall when I was 7 until I learned the truth and started flushing that shit
Idk what people are saying about meth but I had ADHD medicine. Tried 3 doses since 1 and 2 did nothing, but 3 was apparently overkill bc it gave me massive mood swings😅 completely got me horrified of prescription medicine for years and now my moms saying it could be the cause of my Tourette’s syndrome so greeeaaattt😂😅😓
I have ADHD and whenever it’s peace and quiet my head just comes up with the weirdest questions but there is one thing I hate normally with my ADHD. It’s hard for me to decide foods on what I want to eat but when I pick one thing to eat, and then I look at the other food I started to get hungry for that instead
@@Ehskkgdhz737v me too, try cyproheptadine. It’s an apetite stimulizer. It makes me hungry even on addy. Just tell them you don’t get hungry and they’ll write you a prescription

That shit made me so unhealthy, I was around 80lbs when I was 14. Sure it helps you to focus and be more "normal" but at what cost? It's just the legal version of a hard drug and they give it to children.
@@BIackCadillac I agree. It did help me focus in school and raised my grades but at what cost? When I took it I felt like my personality changed and I wasn’t “me” until it wore off.
My son was naturally tall and thin. At 18 he was 6'8" and 176 lbs. A teacher recommended he be assessed for ADD. I was very hesitant to put him on medication because I was terrified it would effect his appetite. I am now so glad I didn't have him assessed because it's my understanding he would have been rejected by the military with an ADD diagnosis. He became a successful Airforce jet mechanic...so proud of him! By the way, he has gained 50 lbs.
Dude, I swear whenever I smoke weed, I have thoughts that nobody was ever mentally powerful enough to think I’d be thinking eighth dimensional thoughts, understanding existence and matter in a deep way type stuff😂
ADHD takes Adderall: "Hmmm, now would be a great time to finish the book I've been reading!" *falls asleep after finishing*. Normal person takes Adderall: *cleans entire house, mows the lawn, washes the neighbor's car & dog* "I CAN HEAR THE PLANTS GROWING! HEYYYYY MACARENA!!!"
I saw him start to cook & literally said out loud, “You better hurry!” Bc as SOON as you’re done cooking, the meds will have kicked in & it makes you feel sick to eat 😅
I’ve even been so silly as to order food delivery right after taking my pills thinking “I’ll eat before it kicks in” and then by the time it arrived, didn’t want it anymore. I only made that expensive mistake a couple times before I learned my lesson.
As a kid It made me grumpy and a zombie and I couldn't eat I felt sick when looking at food I'm on Strattera now my doctor immediately said no on adderall
That’s why I take such a small dose, I can’t tell when it kicks in. I only realize it’s working when I notice that I’ve been more productive than I am without it.
This is perfect. It also feels like you're happy. A total calm and soft smile creep over and now I can keep one track in my head for a bit. And yes at the beginning you will not eat unless you force feed during the effect, but if it's that bad lower the dose
I thought you making that sandwich was showing how much easier it is to do everyday tasks with the adderall 😅 can’t tell ya how many eggs, grilled cheese, etc I’ve burned
Lol yeah, I thought this was a joke about actually having the ability to successfully perform a mundane task like making a sandwich rather than wasting an hour trying to decide what music to play while doing it or just materializing a sandwich AND a bowl of cereal without being aware of how exactly it happened 🤣
Heres how I do it. When I wake up in the morning I take an adderall, I then spend 30 mins eating breakfast and showering. Then, 30 mins in I start reading for an hour. 15-20 minutes into reading I love the way Im suddemly able to absorb what Im reading. It makes me feel on top of the world. I tell ya, nothing quite hits like that first morning adderall. 🥰
Adderal did that but like.... in reverse lol. Let me go from 'my mind is imploding from the possibilities!' To 'oh hey, i can actually make food. I have the ability to start and finish tasks without becoming completely overwhelmed' made my brain too slow tho, had to move to something else.

I’m concerned for a lot of you guys in the comments. This isn’t what it’s supposed to feel like. I was diagnosed with ADHD in 5th grade, I take 40mg of vyvanse, I can sleep on it and eat on it. I actually have a sense of hunger, I don’t feel high, I don’t feel anxious or crazy happy, I don’t feel like I just took ecstasy, but I feel normal, calm, and quiet in comparison to how I feel on weekends and scheduled days where I do not take it. I understand how you guys feel, because initially I was overprescribed 50mg and it was too much. The side effects were unmanageable, I was manic. This will be hard to read, but some of you either do not have ADHD and were misdiagnosed by your doctors or you NEED a lower dose. If you do not have ADHD and you’re taking these meds, you are at risk of addiction; it will feel like you need more and more. My doctor lowering my dose was life changing. Please talk to your doctors.
My kid is 10 and will probably only eat once and when we make him he will only eat the meat. Some days he'll binge eat to make up from what he refused. Not on a high dose no meds on weekends or the summer . His meds tell him he's not hungry
Yassss to this comment!!! I have ADHD and I take a VERY low dose like 10mg non extended release and it’s perfect anything higher and I’m manic like borderline manic. My doctor didn’t understand why I didn’t want to try to go up to like 30 mg and I’m like because I like to not be in a psych ward because I’m over medicated!
I'm on 25 mg of focalin and I never felt like this, it reduces my appetite though but in a way where I don't binge anymore which has helped me lose 49 pounds :D it also helps me focus too though
One time I easily went through every trauma I’ve had in my life chronologically starting from when I could first remember, very clearly and was able to make the connections and figure out how they were effecting my life today and wow key issues I’ve been trying to figure out for years finally revealed themselves, very blessed. Yes I cried a lot but it was kinda fun

What’s funny is that like every RUclipsr had ADHD, maybe they do maybe they don’t but those that do have it are such good RUclipsrs because they can’t concentrate on things so they can see everything is whatever they do and are funny
YES! My first dose had me crying on my bed looking at the ceiling. Much like the scene in Twilight Breaking Dawn when Bella wakes up a vampire. Mhm
Why does that sound creepy lol
I’m finally at peace 😂
So true people have to understand that
So glad I'm not the only one who is ADHD LOL
💯
How’s that going because right now my whole life is collapsing because of the adhd.

@@lindaglover7088Go talk to a professional, you do describe some common problems related to ADHD.
I never realized that was why I take forever to make a sandwich 🤦♀️😅
Lmao literally me every time I have a college assignment

Heyyy welcome to the party! Vyvanse is great stuff. Completely changed my life. ...if you haven't already guessed I'm so used to having asthma that I rarely use my inhaler because I don't register minor breathing difficulties as a problem. oops.
@@LDZombie 50mg can be a lot for when you're just starting out. As with many psychiatric medications, you'll want to start out slow, especially since Vyvanse is a stimulant. Over time you'll build a tolerance and will go higher on dosage (under your doctor's supervision, of course.)
Stimulants can be a lot when you've only just started them and they can fuck with your sleep and heart immensely if you take them at the wrong time or take more than your body can handle at a given time.

Shame, man! That sucks! Have you tried herbal supplements like Lion's Mane etc

Feels more natural and I‘m more myself.
Have you tried a non-stimulant like Strattera?
Don’t give up! Try something else!
I don't understand why did they decide you don't have it
Can't you go to another doctor, who could possibly prescribe you Adderall? Like to get a second opinion (or rather third in your case)
It's kinda questionable to have a solution to your problem, that increases the quality of your life, and not use it. Does your doctor think there is another way for you to get your problem resolved that requires time and not to use Adderall?
@@frogbrain944 I’ve had like four of them already just as an adult lol so like already tired that lol and that’s kinda the problem tho like I guess when they ask you if you’ve had any that has worked and I tell them that, it’s not an appropriate answer for me to say that I liked the adderall the best (even tho it was, as it worked to help me in many ways a lot of which was more than any other one/s I’ve tried) and it’s like it shouldn’t be this hard exactly but it is and along with already being severely depressed it’s like just too much (especially considering I went to the same place, just different doctor, yet still it’s the same thing as if it never happened) I really don’t know what to do anymore tho it’s been years of me fighting and trying, I’ve never had a job, never had a relationship of any kind even friends because I am not able to keep up long enough to even have that lol (each time I try to get on some kinda disability they end up denying it because none of my doctors want to help me there too, as if them doing that to me ain’t causing more damage lol like thanks to mom for not kicking me out over all these years?)
Side note that is kinda relating to this as well, the anxiety, I have been diagnosed with with severe anxiety and have even been given Xanax before from again that one kids psych as well as a primary doctor and it’s so funny to me because this is not new like ever since I was little (like 8 or so?) the only one thing that everyone was able to agree on (because a lot of them didn’t know what it was that was ‘wrong’ but knew it was something bigger then what they could do) but it was that my depression and anxiety were a problem and a severe one at that.
Always.
Addiction?
Your doctor sounds like a shit doctor.
I've literally been in front of food I like, hearing my stomach actively grumbling, and been like, "nah"
*Not me. On Adderall, I eat, have an appetite, and enjoy eating. I will say that I'm not as bothered/impatient/mad/desperate/sad before eating and feeling hunger pangs when I'm on it. No wonder I think you’re so great, Peet! My favorite people are neurodivergent, as someone with both ASD and ADHD.
Try The Holy Spirit
It ain’t good but they get paid you get dependent and worse when certain things are deeper then they claim…yeah nothing positive about it

I feel like that after I 💦 no lie. I'm not trying to be funny.
Weed does the same thing
@@karmakameleon113 I just believe Americans loved to take pills. These pharmaceutical companies get people hook on these pills. There are plenty of mental techniques that assist with these issues.

Absolutely. I knew the difference between appetite and hunger _before_ starting my meds, but you REALLY learn the difference when you're on them. I can be f*cking starving physically, look at food and go "...nah, not right now."

It doesn't bother with my food cravings to me it just makes me not want to eat that much
I have adhd I had a form of Ritalin, I wouldn't even do the cooking part because I'd forget, it takes away your appetite, it got too expensive so I stopped using them.
I can focus and do good work, it's amazing what eating healthy and having a healthy sleep can do for the brain, brain health is how you avoid brain disorders, another thing that's been studied to help is breathwork or meditation, because it's another form of mental discipline.
is it worth going on meds? or should i just stick to being healthy because i’m thinking of taking meds to help with school
Then doing stuff like meditation will help that focus become stronger, growing mental will power is necessary as iv learned that pills don't make skills and I was still left with irresponsible time management and I'd focus good on meds but still on the wrong stuff 😅
That's my experience, so if you do all of this and still find you need an extra help, then pills might be an avenue you take for school, unfortunately these are powerful and can cause heart fatigue and ware on your brain, it's not meant to be taken for extended period of time like more than 5 years.
I hope this helps your decision, definitely do your own research, but it's good to have another persona take on it through their experiences. 😊
As a mom of an AHAD Kid I'm so mesmerized by this video! I try so hard to understand what he's feeling under medication. Thank you Pete

I literally thought the calm with which he made the sandwich was the Adderall kicking in.

Then that would indicate that you truly have ADD and do benefit from the medication. Most people taking Adderall don't actually need it.

me and my untreated ADHD over here-
Yes same
Same bro💀😭
Same. I have lupus and I take a handful of medications already. I don’t need anymore.
Omg, I'm on a slow release now, so I was watching like "yeah, not that much of a bang, but like half an hour of getting more focused on my work mailbox until I notice I am not steering away anymore"
and then the gag just hits XD Omg, this one xD
When I took my ADHD medicine for the first time in 8th grade my history teacher called my mum to thank her for listening to me when I said I needed help with my day to day life…..because I found assignments from like five months back in my locker and handed them all in and she thought I had done all of them in two days because of my meds 🗿🗿🗿
Omg ok but I would actually do stuff like this. I would have literally no motivation to do anything then hyper focus for a day and do all my homework before the last second (suspension)

Because little adhd kids should not be taking meds. It's only any useful to medicate once a person with adhd is a young adult

My heart would flutter and make me feel like I’m having a panic attack. It did help a bit with concentration. I took it for months straight, and when I stopped I felt soooooo good, but then a week later of not taking them I went downhill and felt TERRIBLE.
Currently: I’m no longer taking adderall. But just wanted to share my experience.
I'm so glad you pointed this out. It's really sad to see people praising ADHD meds like it's a miracle drug with no side effects except weight loss. People don't understand how much of a struggle ADHD actually is
The same way I felt when I took them in high school, I had vertigo bad after taking them.
I mean, these are excactly the same symthoms you have, when taking speed,so I would be carefull with it..
I think xanax or luvox would be better for calming anxiety and better concentration
If you actually have ADHD it does the opposite. The akathisia stops and you feel at peace and normal
What’s funny is that like every RUclipsr had ADHD, maybe they do maybe they don’t but those that do have it are such good RUclipsrs because they can’t concentrate on things so they can see everything is whatever they do and are funny
