It’s refreshing to see a review that tells it as it is. It is not about racing into bends or seeing how fast it will go. It is the appeal to the average motorist that matters. After your Corolla review I hope you can review a CHR sometime soon. I would definitely buy one if it ticks all the boxes.
Thank you for the comment Liam. I am happy to hear you enjoyed my review and what was said. My aim is always to help those looking to buy their next car. Still looking to get a CHR booked to review Liam.
Thank you for your comment Andrew. I’m happy you enjoyed the review and I hope it helps with your buying decision. It’s very easy to get in and out of, regardless whether it be front or back seats.
Brilliant review, Dave. You definitely give insightful and honestly useful comments on these vehicles you test drive. Very well done, mate. You have a new fan in me.
Thank you for the comment Wayne. I hope you enjoy the review and it helps with any decisions. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.
So the question remains...My question that i want to buy a new car and i am looking for: 1) Not a sports car, 2) Not a hatchback, 3) An economy car which will be a family car with a bit of an suv air. Is jazz crosstar a good option for me? Or should i look for another car a bit bigger?
The pockets at the back of the front seats is where to put the thick manual. Tip from a 2nd gen Jazz owner. Also my Jazz has paddles to manually control the CVT, this doesn't give you anything. The auto is smarter than you and the paddles. What I love about my Tardis on wheels is that it just does what you expect it to do, it's totally predictable.
The Jazz will be a good seller for Honda in the U.K. Current Jazz owners will love it. Those who are after a practical little family hatchback which is frugal will be impressed.
Loving your reviews. I honestly think motability should sponsor you to do quarterly reviews. I have chronic spinal problems and your videos really helped me. I was going to get the MG ZS. but I found the Skoda Karoq was better for me.
Thank you for your comment Andre. I’m really happy that you found my reviews helpful. The Karoq is a brilliant choice. I’ve not approached Motability but it’s something that could happen in the future.
Great review but you didn't mention the spare. ie that there isn't one, nor can you get one. Honda replied to my query that there was no public demand for spare wheels. Wrong. It's the one thing that prevents me buying the Crosstar which meets my needs perfectly in every other regard.
Hi there Michael. It’s classed as an eCVT gearbox and has the same characteristics. Definitely doesn’t feel like a dual-clutch does it? Are you referring to the main interior lights or vanity lights.....?

Hi can you tell me if you know the full tank fuel range on the new jazz. Did you have the car long enough to find out or your best guess would be appreciated. Enjoyed the video 👍🏻
Looking at buying a Jazz but one big bugbear I have (and this is with the care industry as a whole) is that you do not get a spare wheel, I am old school and prefer a wheel as opposed to a tyre inflator kit. Nice review by the way.

Thank you for your comment Graham. I am happy you enjoyed the review. I always try to make it as clear as possible. Especially for those looking to buy a car.
My series 3 is EX trim so climate control on a touch panel.....looks nice but absolutely horrible to use when driving. I’m not so sure what the point of these pretend 4x4s is. No advantage over the standard car. Save the money and buy the standard model (these aren’t cheap cars!). My one being the last of the petrol only models has the 1.3 I-vetec engine with cvt auto. It’s a lot more responsive in S mode. Is this hybrid an i-vetec? That auto hold button works the same on the 2018 civic. My jazz auto has it too - but it’s fully automated....always activated, no button to press.
Good comprehensive review as always. Keep up the good work. Just wondering when you will start to do group tests.... as I would like to see the jazz against other competitors in this class.
Sadly, we American Bears (including this one, who takes the form of a rabbit on the internet) won't get this version of the Jazz (which we called the "Fit", despite the fact that Honda already had another car with that name elsewhere). Fortunately, there's still plenty of bigger cars and even other Hondas, that we can fit into that are just as good! Nice review! 🐻! 🐰
Honda canada pull the plug on availability of the Fit : it will no longer be available in cdn . I would have liked this new '21 version . We are dependent on the American market which only likes big vehicles .
There's quite a lot of interesting engineering going on under the skin of the new Jazz. Atkinson cycle engine, with twin motor hybrid and 1 speed auto transmission. B- segment product with real substance. High spec variants are pricey though.
Great review man really enjoyed it, you have one mistake though, the e motor is 109 hp and the petrol engine is around a 100 hp but they dont really work together. The car drives most of the time on the electric motor which battery is getting charged by the engine, and only at higher speeds the engine couples with the wheels through a clutchpack and a fixed ratio gear. Thats why you dont really get a "combined" engine output. Quite a clever design by honda here.
So ive moved from London to Somerset . How would the Jazz cope with the hills ? Im a bit concerned the CVT gearbox would struggle a bit . Great review but , what was going on with your tee shirt? Was that a feather stuck to you?
Well if I want to actually get where I am going I am not buying a Ford that's for sure. The Honda might not be as much fun in the corners but when the Ford or the VW stands at the side of the road the Honda will be going on for years.
Cparking and reversing. A demo with comments would be helpful and is there reverse parking video on !the dashboard? Otherwise it is a great and thorough experience of. Driving the Crosstar. Thank you
My Mum is on her third Jazz and I was exited to see the Crosstar Hybrid. Unfortunately Honda Australia announced they will stop selling the Jazz. I was disappointed. Now that I know the new Jazz is twice the price with half the boot space, I understand the decision.
It a lovely looking Jazz but,the one you were driving,is just under 24,000 pounds. That's an awful lot of money for a little thing like that.Is Honda becoming too expensive?
This is closer to my old MK1 Toyota Yaris than the new Yarises as far as practicality is concerned. It's a serious contender for me. We'll see how the Yaris Cross stacks up against it.
Test drove the Yaris Cross and I find the Honda better put together. The Yaris was a bit wind sensitive, made a fairly annoying whining sound from the transmission and was more plasticky. I have no doubt it will work well (it's a Toyota), but the Honda felt better in pretty much every way.
I've had jazz,s for years, great little runarounds, very reliable and I've packed huge amounts in them by dropping the seats. I like the cross star and I wish they'd have designed the others with better front views. The current jazz cars have hideous and in my opinion very dangerous side widow bars. Great review, I'm booking a test drive.

Good review. Especially hitting the motorbility factors.

No spare tyre? What happens if you get a sidewall cut in a tyre, the inflation/sealer gadget won't be much of a help then.
There is the Honda road support for free when jou by new.
So a guy a "little bit" wider than you on the hips found the seatbelt of this small car dug in, well that's hardly a surprise is it.
