- Battle At The Berrics 12 Finals took place on Go Skateboarding Day, capping off a daylong celebration for many skaters worldwide. The event was full of surprises, with Sewa Kroetkov, Jamie Griffin, Tyler Peterson, and Chris Cole (replacing Paul Rodriguez who had to forfeit) putting on a hell of a show at The Berrics. I was rooting for Jamie, but you gotta give props to Tyler for being an insane skater. He's extremely consistent and the work he put into practice showed no doubt
When he won against Sewa, defending against those tricks and doing it proper, I got my money on him for the finals. He's a beast for real, could have gone his way.

I was more impressed by Tyler than Jamie. Both are insane but Tyler did everything so properly.

i was rooting for tyler the whole time. This man literally defended against two 360 double flips and 540 flips. His consistency is insane. A legend.

@@DingusMcBrungus Tyler’s progress is something else, Berra said that Tyler watched the Batb8 finals when Sewa destroyed Shane, Tyler couldn’t even switch heelflip on flat, progressing from that to where he is now is something else and Tyler needs a pro board already.

Chris Cole probably didn’t even want to win first place, given he wasn’t supposed to play. He’s the kind of person who wouldn’t like that Imo. At the same time he had to skate hard enough for it to be difficult.

To be fair, I think this is actually good leadership, because ultimately Steve is willing take the flak for a bad call, rather than everyone hating on Torey. Noone wants to be the ref who gets it wrong, but understands that pressure and responsibility and Steve is willing to take that on.
Tyler is GOATed for his performance against both but Especially Sewa holy cow

If you give Cole 5 tries he can do anything on flat foreal . It's freaky. Look how he almost did that Noli Impossible 180 thing.

What about "No sliding the ground, if your opponent popped"? Griffin should have at least repeated
Tyler still slid the end of his tricks by 90 degrees. And that rule is about the beginning motion of the trick anyway.
Tyler got the same thing when he pivoted the last 180 of the front bigspin. So it's kinda fair knowing he didn't got to redo that one and Jamie didn't got to redo the back 360 ollie, only the front 360 ollie

@@Str8GasGenetics he redid the frontside one. also tyler god some toe touch on that cab flip that followed and got away with it. jamie got a letter from it. i'd say it all evened out in the end.. even knowing jamie could have just done a redo because he can do 360's, he was just playing it safe.

Just watched this for the second time... well worth it. Changes perspectives, and the first time I didn't realise Jamie finished with the same trick against Cole and Peterson. I'm so stoked that Jamie won, I'm a big fan, but I know his bag of tricks is bigger than to pull that one off twice
The Merlin Twist is his death blow. Why change something that works?
Agree with you, he have a lot o tricks, even the switch Merlin twist and bs double heel could give him the W. But you have to consider the nerves right there, and it was his dream so, strategy plays a lot in this case...

Jamie going to keep winning BATB, feels like he is on another level then everyone else. They did find a weakness with 360 type tricks tho.
His switch game is a tad sketchy too. He no doubt would've beaten p rod, but p rod would've given him some letters on the switch.
I'm sure in a year he can learn all the 360s and get better at 10-15 switch basics

Originally they weren't supposed to meet in round 1 but they had to change the bracket up when someone dropped out.

@FullClippz always gotta wonder about consistency when it comes to the really crazy stuff. Remember he missed the casper flip and then didn't try it again. Rather keep the pressure on than let the other guy get a chance. But tbf I don't think he has ever missed a merlin twist in his life.
