37 years riding Harley. I was trying to buy another but sales me treated me as if I were stupid. So I test rode the Challenger and was amazed at how good it was. Sold my Road glide on cycle trader worked a bunch of over time and paid cash. best decision I have made in a long time
@@edwardward7841 except in MotoAmerica where Indian can barely win a race against Harley. Oh, you just mean in stock drag pulls with overweight middle aged riders? Uh.. go Indian, I guess.
I like your enthusiasm and honest comments. Many people get attached to a brand and won’t explore other options. I own a Harley and a BMW, I love riding both for different reasons.
The bulk of Harley riders are Brand Attached... Regardless of the bike performance or reliability. Harley Davidson started The psychology of this sales approach along with the EVO Introduction... Willie Davidson himself has been quoted countless times "We are in the business of selling an image not motorcycles "... If you go back and look you see Harley no longer was going after their loyal hardcore biker market and their weekend riders... Harley-Davidson decisively made a concerted effort to ditch the nitty gritty biker riding a Harley image... The intentionally got away from the average guy working and fixing his own bike... They started targeting yuppies businessmen lawyers along with middle class upper middle class Americans.. they had to make a more reliable bike.. the idea of having a Harley Davidson and riding cross country with a few extra parts and tools in your saddlebag being able to fix anything was over.... Harley-Davidson meant to put the screws to their buyers.. they phased this in.. Harley makes a absolute killing on service side of the business. I'm sure they could make a motorcycle as reliable as a Honda.... But their strategy is make good enough that people keep buying them but still make a fortune on parts repairs and service work.. big part of the yuppie corporate strategy of Harley was moving near dealerships along interstates and appeal to the businessman that wanted to be weekend warriors and pretend bikers..... It worked!!
I decided to buy my Challenger after seeing Adam Sandoval's video in October 2019. The next day I went to my dealer to tell him "import me a Challenger". My Challenger arrived in March 2020 and since then it has been happiness. Thank you for your videos which I like a lot and bravo for making us discover the landscapes of the USA, even if sometimes you speak too fast for my poor English. With a little hello from France where you are followed.
Good afternoon. Being a wounded combat veteran thank you from the very depths of my heart for being a part of this fundraiser. By the grace of God I received my sight back after an IED explosion and did not lose any limbs. However, so many of my brothers and sisters in arms did and it is people like you that give me hope of our nation coming back together. This would not be my first choice of a bike. I love the Honda Goldwing tour DCT. I would love any bike as I do not have one. My wife wanted me to wait until I was bit better before getting one and now we have a house we are paying for. God’s timing! I just wanted to thank you and let you know you are appreciated. I did enter! Lol I do really enjoy your channel. Keep doing what you do.
I’m glad a stumbled across this video. I was strongly considering an Indian Pursuit. After watching this video, I’m even more convinced to purchase the Indian Pursuit. Thanks.
nice review. The throttle response on these modern fly by wire systems can easily be fixed with a proper tune. Something most Challenger owners do once they upgrade their exhausts. I traded my 2019 Street Glide Special for a Dark Horse and never looked back. Much better handling, power delivery, more tech features like rider modes, remote locking saddlebags, adjustable windscreen, lower center of gravity, etc. The sport mode really wakes the bike up.. glad you had fun with the bike.
I am currently watching almost all of your videos from the very beginning. YOU are awesome. I currently ride a 2014 Chieftain that I have customized with aftermarket goodies to suit me. I am sooo ready to move up to the Challenger, it's just tough knowing I will have to spend so much extra to get a challenger to where I have my Chieftain. Bars, pipes, stereo, wheels... I truly loved your raw innocence in this video. That laugh when you raked on it, you can't fake... RIDE ON AND RIDE SAFE
Challenger owner here. That seat is really my biggest complaint out of my very short list of complaints. Yes it feels comfortable at first but after an hour or two in the saddle it’s so soft that it gives no support. My lower back was killing me after taking a multiple day long distance trip. After 5k miles I’ve broken down and bought a saddleman seat. We’ll see how that turns out when it gets here. My other complain is the throttle by wire. One of these days I’ll get the Lloyd’z flash and that should fix all of my complaints about that.
The Indian dealership i visited before buying my Harley put as much effort as a McDonald's employee. I told the sales rep I was looking for a touring bike but I had never riden one or even owned a motorcycle. He told me to look around and walked off, they didn't check on me or even attempted to make a sell . I walked out and not one person even said thank you for stopping by or if I had any questions. Next stop was at one of my local Harley Davidson dealerships, the sales man walked up to me i explained my experience and what i wanted . Being 6'5" 285 pound man whos built like a linebacker he understood why i wanted a touring bike . The salesman recommended a training course through Harley he went over every thing the Road Glide had , all the features and said when I finished the coarse they would be ready for me. Two months later I bought the Harley davidson road glide ultra. I can't say if Indian makes a better bike , what I can say is my Road Glide Ultra is a fricken perfect bike for me ...
Bought my 2020 Challenger new from factory August 23, 2020. I have owned 37 different bikes and this is my favorite so far. No matter how many times I crack that throttle it still makes me smile. I think my 2010 Victory Cross Country is more comfortable on a really long ride. But the power this Challenger makes is awesome. Lets face it, the Challenger is the direction Victory was heading before Polaris shut them down. I am glad they did not let those ideas die.
I rode a Chieftain dark horse at the demos @ Americade a couple weeks ago, and was more than impressed with all of it. Your absolutely right about the handling, going through the mountain roads was unbelievable how a bike this heavy can feel so light. I've had about every bike out there (BMW's, FXR's, Buells, Kawis etc.) and was equally amazed by this brand. Thanks for the great video.
Re. the airflow to your legs: I noticed that the Challenger you were riding has the optional front wind deflectors mounted. Without them, you would get the same airflow to your lower extremities as on your RG. You could have those removed, but they're darned nice in cold or wet weather. Very much a personal preference thing... I finally got an opportunity to throw a leg over one myself just a few weeks ago... colour me impressed! I'm 5'6", with a 30" inseam, and could flat-foot the Challenger no problem in my street shoes. Just lifting it off the side stand, it seemed no heavier than a Scout. Indian really nailed the balance on this bike. Can't wait until I get a chance to actually RIDE one.
I got my Challenger in November and if it’s not raining, I’m riding. I couldn’t be happier and cannot imagine riding anything else. Indian did a great job, especially after the new ECU flash that took care of a lot of gripes.
I. Just bought the 2022 challenger and I am impressed. This bike is awesome. It’s like having bags on a pocket rocket. The handling is amazing the response is perfect. Not disappointed one bit.
Love my Indian, you are so right the ride is so effortless and the balance of the bike is amazing! Glad you had another chance to ride one and I will lay odds you will have one in the garage someday. Enjoy
There is an aftermarket “tune” that really fixes the throttle lag that drives us all nuts. It’s from Lloydz Garage. He owns an Indian dealership in Charlotte NC, and also is a performance mechanic. Another youtuber Called “rifingfish” really talked it up so I got it for my 2020 Dark Horse Challenger. It is everything I hoped it was going to be, it really increased the response and over all performance of the bike. I’m like you in that I don’t care about the brand, I just love riding. Stay safe.
I have the 2020 challenger, I took mine last week to Lloyds garage at Indian of charlotte , it turned an awesome bike into amazing, I had already done the cat delete and zombie pipes, so it was a must to get it all to pull together.
This is awesome. I love that you like this bike. I remember some time ago, you weren’t feeling it. You definitely took your time with this ride this time. Every time I think I’ve made up my mind, you test ride a bike and I’m like 🤔. Thanks again for your input, it’s so helpful to me. As always, love your content.
I went from a Kawasaki ZX12 to a 2020 Road Glide Special. I went Harley because I am 6'4" and it feels awesome to not feel like a giant on a bike. I also keep my things for a long time and enjoy customizing. I know there are always going to be things out there for the Harleys. Indian is a very cool bike though!
Jess, I saw one of your older rides on the Challenger and it was obvious that it was not set up properly for someone your size. I am glad you got the opportunity to try it again. It is a fantastic bike and will be my next if I ever decide to sell my Victory Vision. Polaris has become a worthy competitor in the motorcycle world and has consistently broke the mold. God Bless and safe riding.
I am so glad to hear you loved the bike. I was torn between a Challenger and a Roadmaster Limited. I chose the Roadmaster. Over 5K miles on it and very happy.
I very interested in your reasons for the choice. Ive ridden the roadmaster 111 and was very happy with the handling, feel and the features but would have liked more giddyup in the higher gears. I havent had a chance to ride the 116 to see if the extra cubes fixes that.
@@gregjacques3159 I chose the 2021 in order to get the 116 motor. I then chose the Stage 1 air cleaner, did a cat delete pipe, and added Rush War Horse mufflers with 2.5” baffles. After the Dyno tune my particular bike was 93 hp and 126 ft lbs. More than enough power for me. The other reason for my choice was the cost. Adding a trunk to a Challenger was more expensive then buying the Roadmaster Limited with one. Even after the mods. I also added the adaptive headlight.
About the weight "feeling" much lighter, that's what the guys at Polaris do. I rode a Victory for years and it just held its weight so low that it did feel much lighter than it actually was. I test rode a chieftain a few years back and it was obvious the engineers at Indian made sure to carry that over from the Victory line. Both were also lower seat height than the comparable HD's without any loss in ground clearance, which makes it nicer for those of us stretching to get a 30" inseam.
Great video. Made my first visit to Iron Pony today and was blown away by the size of the store. I saw the Indian Challenger you rode in this video. Beautiful bike and thank you for your impressions of it!
I was able to finally demo ride some Indian models this week. They were all a blast. The Challenger is great for sure, definitely more nimble than you would expect from looking at it. The Springfield Dark Horse won my heart though. That bike looks and feels amazing.
When I test rode a Challenger last year I was blown away at how nice it was. I won't trade my Goldwing in for one, but if I still had a Road Glide I probably would have traded it in for a Challenger by now, that's how much I loved it. Electric windshields are greatly underrated, its honestly one of my favorite features of my Wing and I love that the Challenger has it too!
I have a 2020 challenger.i also have a 2020 goldwing. The indian is by far my fav bike. It beats the the wing in every way except lean angle. . Goldwing is for sale
Mengy I was just looking at the new Pursuit. (Challenger with trunk) I miss the V Twin with the Wing being so smooth, but the cost to get one is a bit much. That and the Gold Wing is such a solid bike and low maintenance. Hard to give up shaft drive. If I ever do sell my new Gold Wing the Indian Pursuit would be number one on my list to replace it.
I’ve just purchased a 2021 Harley Road Glide special two weeks ago. I still have my 2018 BMW K1600B with little over 10k miles on it with a Brentune. My previous bikes are just to name a few recent one are 2015 BMW S1000rr/2016 BMW R1200gs/2016 BMW S1000xr/2015 Indian Chieftain 111/2017 BMW R1200RT/2018 BMW K1600GTL/2018 BMW S1000XR. Rode sport bikes prior to all these now that I’m beyond 54. Let me tell you there is northing compare to a Harley. The nostalgic and the heart beat of the rumbles from an American made V twin nothing can compare. Yes you have other brands reliable or not but not the same as Harley. I’ve tried them all, at the end if you want to cruise America and feel the heart beat of America! It’s gotta be Harley hands down. Don’t get me wrong I’m still out there tearing down the street with other brands for racing and go fast purpose. Enjoy the roads life is short peace out!
Get it! Get it! Get it! Get it! Lol... Test rode a Springfield Dark Hourse and fell in love with it. I didnt notice much of any wheight difference comparatively to my Scout Bobber, once I got moving. The Springfield is considerably heaver than my scout on paper, but not so much riding. I hope next year I will be able to purchase one. God how I love to ride.
Hey Jess! This video made me even more excited to demo the bike myself. Indian motorcycles is having their Factory Demo truck come by Las Vegas soon and I'm trying to ride one! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this bike again as a bagger rider. You are a huge influence in the motorcycle community!
Lots of giggly Jess in this one, sign of a good bike! I love the dashboard and look of this, would be interested in seeing other colours so might go check out the website. Good review :)
I traded my 2020 Challenger for HD RGS. The Challenger was easier to maneuver at slower speeds, the traction control was a life saver, but not many customizable options. If there where more options for a Challenger I would have kept her. It is a comfy seat, comfy ride. I was tiptoe being 5'2" and 160lbs. I never dropped it. I dropped my RGS the 2nd day but I still can't give up the RGS but I definitely wished they had a Baby. Challenger sounds like a time machine and rides like a Cadillac, has a lot of tech for standard model but not many options if you want to customize. RGS rides rougher, less tech but more color options, more customizable options, sounds like a badass. It doesn't look like a plastic bike.
Hi Young lady I was tossed between the road glide and the Challenger I picked the Indian.I have ridden HDs for 46 years and I just wanted a breath of fresh air and it is!!! Awsome bike!!! The only thing I don't care for is the very ridiculous pricing for accessories. I needed a backrest for my wife who loves to ride with me it cost almost 800.00 arrrrgh im saving my lunch money now for front crash bars lol Enjoy !! I DO!!!!!! BTW the factory headlight sucks really bad!!!!!!! LMAO
My first big bagger purchase, I automatically just went to a Harley dealer because I had never ridden one before and I knew I wanted a bagger. I test rode the new Road Glide and Street glide. This was in 2018. I loved the handling and feel of the road glide but preferred the look of the street glide. I almost signed the dotted line that day but something kept telling me to go try the new rave. The Indian Chieftain. I decided before making a regretful decision, I had better follow my instincts this time. OMG, after riding the Chieftain Dar Horse, there was just no turning back. To me, it was a real night and day difference. Needless to say, I went home with my new Indian, thinking that I would never have a different bike, that I would go to my grave with this Chieftain. So I thought. The Challenger had came out a couple years later. I thought it looked pretty nice but I never really gave it another thought. Until I was in the showroom, awaiting my service to be done on the Chieftain, my eyes came across the new 2021 Challenger Limited in Ruby Red. OMG that bike was beautiful. I had to go test ride it. Yep. I was sold. Had I been able to financially afford two bikes, I would have kept the Chieftain and added the Challenger but Yeah, Reality hit. It was one or the other. It was a no Brainer.. I frigging love my Challenger Limited. I've done all kinds of upgrades of course, the most notable difference came when I got that Secret Sauce. Yes, the Infamous Lloyd's Tune. I now ride the smoothest rocket on the planet, especially in Sport mode. Yes, I'll be taking this one to my grave for sure. Do yourself a favor and go test ride one. There will be no going back, I promise.. 🙂
Now you know what all of victory riders were trying to tell you, I first saw that motor on a victory cross country and the bottom end on that Challenger is essentially the same! If you get a chance write an old victory cross country one 06 they’re just about as light handling. I’ll be at about 25 less horsepower. I have 80 K on my victory but I will likely be buying a challenger soon! Ride on ,good video !
I have a 2018 Yamaha Eluder (and a 2016 Rocket III Roadster), and the Challenger is on my short list for next touring bike. There's SO MUCH to love. It handles great, the power is amazing, and the tech is top notch. Also, that water cooling is REALLY nice on a hot Florida day.
Hey I'm selling my m109r and the Eluder/Venture is a bike I was seriously looking at, as I personally love the looks. Have you ridden the Challenger and if so what are the differences that stand out to you?
It's a great bike. (2020 Indian Challenger) My backup to my 2019 HD CVO Ultra. That stock Challenger will SMOKE your new Roadglide. Super fast.........even more so with the Stage 2, TAB Pipes, & Cat Delete.
This video made my day. I had a big smile all day just thinking if I would be riding that Challenger I would definitely be as happy as you. Thanks for some awesome content. Ride safe!!!
I finally got to Ride one when the IMS show came to my town a couple weekends ago and going from my Victory Cross Country Tour to the Challenger even though fixed mounted fairing vs fork mounted it was an easy transition. I just felt at home and the Challenger in Sport mode she just wants to run. I just paid off the Victory so not any time soon but I'll hopefully pick up a used Challenger one day.
As a Victory owner, I loved my Cross Country at first sight and still do. It never gets old and the fact that it turns so many heads when I'm riding is a definite bonus. I love the look of the Challenger but at the same time, I'm somewhat disappointed in knowing that THIS could very well have been where Victory was heading. (The shutting down of Vic still stings lol) Especially seeing all of Vic styling queues and ergos that are incorporated in this model. So, I guess in that regard, Victory lives on so I can take some consolation in that. lol So glad you enjoyed this ride. It would look reeaally good sitting next to Appa 😜 ......just sayin'......(Do it! Do it!) On an unrelated note, as a Canuck, I hadn't realized Tim Horton's had made it into Ohio lol. Trust me when I say Timmies is nothing to what it used to be. It's gone way downhill. (It's not even a Canadian company anymore). Thanks for taking us along on your test ride Jess. Take care and all the best from Nova Scotia 🇨🇦
I too own a Cross Country. Fantastic bike especially after getting after a Lloyds 501 cam and his filter, putting out 113 hp and tq. It to is nimble for a large bike. The 108 powerplus was going to replace the 106. This could have been the bike to replace the Victory Vision that is an awesome bike, but did not excite people due to its looks. This 108 was going to also be in the other Victory models and a newly designed Cross Country. Glad Indian incorporated it into the Challenger, but am a bit confused why they do not offer it in other models. I sat on a used Challenger a couple weeks back at the Honda Powersports dealer in Marysville. Owner traded it for a new Honda automobile. I did not ride it but it felt great to sit on for my ergos and felt light getting off the stand.
Nice outtakes at the end 🙂. Keep up the good content Jess! I like that you are not brand specific and encourage all riders to ride all the bikes. There are different types of riding and it is nice to mix it up every once in awhile. I'll send you pics of that bike in my garage when I win it 😎.
When I first took one out, all I could do is laugh like a little girl. It felt SO good🥰. My time is DEFINITELY coming 🙏🏽. I can’t wait to get mine. Hopefully by the time of my birthday in January. My God, I’ll ride EVERYWHERE 😂.
"ALRIGHT THAT'S IT!!!" 🗨️☝️😆💢 I'm now a subscriber to this channel "HER TWO WHEELS", not only is this lady beautiful she's an HD owner who gave an honest review and i appreciate that. 🗨️👍😎👍
That is nice bike, not many dealers near me not even many Harley dealers nearby. Nice seeing a ride out by where I used to ride all the time, that one the places used to burn up the back roads by lake.
You were definitely enjoying this demo ride! I need to go ride one now! Our personal shop has several brands, HD(s), Suzy, Kawa, Yammie, and KTM presently….. hmmm, May be time to add another! Lol…. Ride safe Jess and enjoy yourself!
I had really considered the Challenger before I bought my 2021 HD Streetglide Special. It is the best performing bagger out there, aesthetically I love my HD, blacked out with the venom paint.
Jess, soooo glad you're likin' the Injun! I was really disappointed when you didn't seem to like it much when you took one on the group ride sometime back. It seemed to me that the bike you were riding might have been in rain mode b/c you complained that the bike couldn't seem to get out of it's own way and that you were super hot riding that day. I thought that maybe there were some vents that you were unaware of that weren't opened. You mentioned that there was very little wind on your legs on this ride and I happened to notice that there were two small wings down by your knees that maybe could be adjusted to allow more airflow? But IDK. Never the less, I'm stoked that you like the Challenger so much :-)
@@HerTwoWheels Definitely agree - it is absolutely gorgeous! I actually went about a month ago and test rode a H-D Electra Glide and a Road King (2018 & 2019). I absolutely fell in love with the baggers and that was my first time ever riding a Harley! Unfortunately after working with finance, there was no way possible I was able to afford it and I was really bummed! I would really love to win this and just entered to win! Like Shawn said, there's a first time for everything ... LOL!
@@MatthewJFitzpatrick get a pre M8 twin cam FLHR. I have a 2019 FLHR and the M8 just doesn’t do it for me. Better in every measurable way.. but bikes aren’t about metrics (no pun .. well maybe) Bet u could get an amazing twin cam RK 103 and those will run for 150k miles or more if u look after it with basic maintenance
Btw I come from a 2010 FB lo and the RK is such an amazing bike. It’s just as good around town as it is on the hwy.. can ride for HOURS. If not doing lots of hwy pull the windshield off and it takes on a whole other persona.. for me it’s the perfect bike at this time. I’d love a RGS but don’t NEED it. I don’t do any crazy 3k mile rides now where I need navi and the stereo. But I can go long on the RK I just don’t have the extra tech besides ABS and it does have the idle temperature manager thjng where it cuts the rear jug when it gets hot when idling. I don’t like it tho because the idle feels like a big ass thumper and not that somewhat unpredictable lumpy sorta idle that always lulls me to a comfortable happy place. U know that HD idle
This was a super awesome video! Love seeing your thoughts and opinions on this bike. I'm hoping to take one out on a demo ride sometime this fall. Have been super interested in the Challenger ever since a friend of mine talked to me about it. I've watched so many videos on it. Block's, Adam Sandoval's, and now yours. Keep it up! Your content is awesome! P.S. Loved those little bloopers right at the end 😆
I used to ride a street glide. I switched to a challenger 2 years ago and I haven't looked back. The seat sucks after a year, but that's a small change to make. The bike really feels a hundred lbs lighter than a SG or RG.
Nice review. I'm glad you had a second chance to ride an amazing bike! I am a first time Indian owner and I love my Challenger. I have ridden Harleys for over 20 years and was ready to buy another when I test rode a new Challenger last year. I was sold immediately! I don't have anything but love for Harley and if they would have built this bike I would have bought it... Fit and finish need to come a ways to compete with Harley but the Indian is one bad ass machine!
bought mine without a test ride. After adding mini apes from kst, freedom liberty slipons, stage 1 intake, and a custom corbin seat, and a klockwerks 11 inch shield, I am in hog heaven. Grreat job Indian. Ive ridden and had bmws, harleys, suzuki and hondas.
Great review you should do more. You can tell how much your enjoying the bike when you start laughing. I took a test ride on a Triumph Thunderbird Lt and recorded the ride. When I got home I watched the video. Just like you I was laughing because I enjoyed the ride so much, the power, handling and comfort. If I had the money I would have bought the bike when I got back to the Shop.
I have the same attitude you do Jess. I dont care of someone rides a Honda monkey bike or a Boss Hoss, just ride it as much as you can, safely of course. I love motorcycles and I will never put down anyone's ride of choice.
I’m out in Arkansas for what would have been Bikes, Blues, & BBQ. Heritage Indian in Rivers offered test rides. Took out a Challenger for. Test ride. I will say there are many great things I liked. But the things I didn’t like reminded me how happy I am with my 2017 Road Glide Special.
Wow ! I loved this video ! You did a great freakin job on this and sounded like you had a great time!. Thank you for sharing this, you are a true motorcyclist! Just ride , just freakin ride !
Love Indian's, luv Carey Hart and the custom bikes he builds, luv your videos. As a veteran I had to donate to this cause. I chuckled because from previous videos I never thought you'd be gushing over an Indian.
It’s all about environment for me I think. I typically LOVE all bikes, the first couple times I rode the challenger were in pretty crowded situations (Lone wolf rider here 🙋♀️) so having my own time really allowed me to get a feel for it! 🥰
Id have to ride a Challenger but I really don't think I could personally do without the Harley exhaust notes and for that matter I've never experienced anything thats more comfortable so I would test ride one. I love all bikes and love the look of the Challenger so...
Not to burst bubbles, when a vehicle is involved, the charity only receives 15% of amount donated. With all due respect, this is an inefficient method of making donations to charities. Omaze doesn't even donate to the charity. The monies donated go to CAF. CAF is not a charity, it is an organization that delivers funds to charities, minus their "administrative fees". So there are several layers of administration utilized in this donation method. Omaze is a bid for experience/prize organization that happens to pass on a portion that will eventually make its way to a charity. Like it or not, these are facts. All of the provided information was found just by doing a simple internet search. The search terms that I used was (without quotes) "who gets paid with omaze". Please do your own research. Don't take my word for it.
Your acceleration laugh is awesome! I test rode one yesterday, dark horse model. It had the mini apes which I did not care for but otherwise a sweet ride.
I watched your last comment and want to say, I love watching your videos and hate to see you sad. I love ❤ your enthusiasm you bring. Keep up the good work
I think just like the Road Glide the Challenger looks better in white. but I would have to go with Harley over the Indian only because there is not enough anything i.e. dealers, aftermarket parts and so on. But it is a super cool bike
It’s a Victory with the Indian label that Polaris purchased. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. I know many people who loved their Victory motorcycle. I have demo ridden a Challenger. It felt heavy. The Challenger wants to be a Harley-Davidson…..yes I know they have better electronics. Pretty good balance. I don’t think it rides better than my Road Glide. My Harley-Davidson engine does not have the same kind of power numbers, but it isn’t a newer technology engine of the Polaris. I would like to own a Challenger but would not give up my premium, high end Harley-Davidson for one.
I have rode over the past 50 years all kinds of bikes. . I've rode customs and the top of the line Harleys... But once I set my ass across a Gold Wing ... I knew I would have to settle and compromise to ever ride a Harley-Davidson again... I fought it.. was lying to myself... How could I ride a rice burner full-time?? What would my club brother say?? Although I'm a retired club member it's always nice to hang out for the brotherhood and camaraderie... Relive my younger Glory Days of hellraising.. I had different wrecks and near death injuries and one time of a several week hospital stay.. I didn't know if I was going to live and if I did, if I could ever walk again...As arthritis and such has crept into my bones and joints in my older years I still wanted to fill the wind in my face And the freedom of riding... I decided to ride a Wing a few days to see how I did... I knew a Honda goldwing was what I needed... I no longer wanted to hear the Harley roar even if it was not that loud from stock exhaust... The golden wing was so smooth and quiet, I could actually enjoy going on a nice country road and being part of nature instead of blasting the peaceful surroundings with loud exhaust.... With a engine I could balance a coin on at idle.. the gold wings revolutionary front suspension along with having a superior ride reputation for decades... This is what I wished I would have been riding for years... But club rules forbade it.. I finally got outed by some of my fellow bikers... It was constant joking and poking fun at the wing... As we always looked out for our own.. some of the brothers would stop by occasionally with beer to check up on me.. everyone everyone that did had to take a ride for themselves....Of course they weren't wearing their patch they were here on a social visit... But they still ask for a ball cap and jacket so no one would recognize them hahaha.. any brothers That road the gold wing would come back with that same look in their eyes... They said they couldn't believe how far superior of bike the Goldwing really was over anything Harley has ever made... It was like a revelation to all that rode the goldwing... It was a whole different world of riding.. The Prez had to take his secret ride... We all agreed it is a Damn shame that we let bravado and the macho image a Harley had in the past Determine what we ride.. but for some clubs riding a Harley is the Gospel... If I only knew then what I know now.... If the wisdom of old age that calms temper and keeps the ego in check ... Makes one think deeper before reacting and such... The folly of youth.. vanity ,ego, and Pride.... The loyalty and blind Faith and devotion to Harley that abandoned us decades ago...
Always open to all brands....took a Challenger for a ride and was pleasantly surprised, however at the end of the day I prefer my Road Glide. In addition they have had some electrical issues. All typical with any new bike.
Great review! I am considering the Challenger for my next bike, but I want to see it in a full tourer, so I am in waiting mode or will need to change my plans. Thanks for posting!
Great video Jess. I ride a Victory Vision so I'm familiar with what Polaris can do. I bet a Lloydz ecu would fix the glitchy throttle response. Lloydz has a long history of making Indian and Victory bikes really rip.
I love my street glide but it's old and not very comfortable. I've changed the suspension front and rear as well as different seats and bars. I instantly fell in love with the chieftain when I rode it. The suspension is so much smother and that seat is amazing for stock. I have riden the comparable newer street glide and it just doesn't compare to me. If I could afford a newer bike I would most likely go Indian. I still need to ride the Challenger but seems like torture knowing I can't take it home lol. My biggest issue with Indians is lack of color options through out the models.
What a great review and message! Get out an try different bikes, especially the Challenger. Like you said, it'll have you questioning everything!! Lol I absolutely love my Challenger.
I'm a love my 21' RGS hands down the best I say but that's me. Those bikes by indian are in their own world. Too each they own. It's still a bike can't hate a bike. Glad you enjoyed it.
This video helped me decide to buy a Challenger, so thanks! After week one can state I am very happy with the purchase. It's a great compliment to my Thruxton.

I'm can't post comments for some reason, just comments to others comments. Maybe YT police don't like me! I've had my eye on that model too...👍😺
Entered before the video was over.... here's to hoping I win, and then figuring out what I'm going to do with 4 motorcycles....
i’m glad u gave the challenger another chance. HD & Indian have built really great machines
37 years riding Harley. I was trying to buy another but sales me treated me as if I were stupid. So I test rode the Challenger and was amazed at how good it was. Sold my Road glide on cycle trader worked a bunch of over time and paid cash. best decision I have made in a long time
Good luck trading it in when Harley launches their new Road Glide. Going to wish you waited.
😂 You like HD, totally fine. But the Challenger destroys RGs all day everyday, that’s just a fact.

Lol
I do really enjoy your channel.
Bike review: your smile and laughter says it all.
Btw the seat of the roadmaster classic is good?
@@joaotino2252 YES! 2015 roadmaster - 15K miles, its great.
How’s that seat? Bars might help too. Raise up your hand position…
Great test ride! Anyone curious about a Challenger needs to know the laughing/giggling part comes with the bike! 👍
I love the new Indian bikes. Polaris did a really good thing with them.
Love my Indian, you are so right the ride is so effortless and the balance of the bike is amazing! Glad you had another chance to ride one and I will lay odds you will have one in the garage someday. Enjoy
Never thought I would ever say this, but I might have to try one. I’ve been die hard Harley for a long time. It won’t hurt to ride one.
Glad you got a chance to really ride the Challenger and see what a great bike it is!
@@scottphillips5388 I gave it a great review in my last video. I just haven’t don’t the cat delete yet
"You like what you like" most important thing you said! Exactly right, Jess.
Keep including the bloopers at the end!! Love it! Those that don’t watch till the end don’t know what they are missing!!
@@jameszee7585 I'm curious now that the Indian Pursuit has come out to the cost comparison for your 116 Roadmaster vs Pursuit.
I love Indian Motorcycle and I want to test ride the challenger next!!! So happy you had a blast riding it.
I was able to finally demo ride some Indian models this week. They were all a blast. The Challenger is great for sure, definitely more nimble than you would expect from looking at it. The Springfield Dark Horse won my heart though. That bike looks and feels amazing.
Love to see a picture.
My 21’ Springfield Vintage Dark horse is my favorite bike I’ve owned! Love what Indian is doing!
👍♥️❤️👍

Hi Jess , just want to let u know : all fine , I have not been unsubscribed from your channel! All still is working .
All the best !!!
I recently got a 2017 Indian Springfield and it also feels way lighter than it is. It practically balances itself. I love it
Get it! Get it! Get it! Get it!
Ahhh, I remember you demoing this like a year ago and not liking it. Glad you’re trying it again, I have a darkhorse and love it.
It doesn't look like a plastic bike.
definitely your laughter and giggles speaks volumes good to see you smiling x
Hi Young lady I was tossed between the road glide and the Challenger I picked the Indian.I have ridden HDs for 46 years and I just wanted a breath of fresh air and it is!!! Awsome bike!!! The only thing I don't care for is the very ridiculous pricing for accessories. I needed a backrest for my wife who loves to ride with me it cost almost 800.00 arrrrgh im saving my lunch money now for front crash bars lol Enjoy !! I DO!!!!!! BTW the factory headlight sucks really bad!!!!!!! LMAO
Your laugh, when you twist the throttle, is infectious. Keep up the great work.
(2020 Indian Challenger)
My backup to my 2019 HD CVO Ultra.
That stock Challenger will SMOKE your new
Roadglide. Super fast.........even more so with the Stage 2, TAB Pipes, & Cat Delete.
I would consider this a wonderful non- bias review. It was awesome listening to your excitement.
This video made my day. I had a big smile all day just thinking if I would be riding that Challenger I would definitely be as happy as you. Thanks for some awesome content. Ride safe!!!
That Giggle when on the throttle....PRICELESS!!!!
As a Harley owner and potential Indian owner, I think you need a long term Challenger so that we can see more videos for research!
So, I guess in that regard, Victory lives on so I can take some consolation in that. lol
So glad you enjoyed this ride. It would look reeaally good sitting next to Appa 😜 ......just sayin'......(Do it! Do it!)
On an unrelated note, as a Canuck, I hadn't realized Tim Horton's had made it into Ohio lol.
Great review Jess! I fell in love with the Chieftain Dark Horse and have my heart set on it when I’m ready to get a touring bike.
When I first took one out, all I could do is laugh like a little girl. It felt SO good🥰. My time is DEFINITELY coming 🙏🏽. I can’t wait to get mine. Hopefully by the time of my birthday in January. My God, I’ll ride EVERYWHERE 😂.

That is nice bike, not many dealers near me not even many Harley dealers nearby. Nice seeing a ride out by where I used to ride all the time, that one the places used to burn up the back roads by lake.
Of all the superlatives used to describe Indian Challenger "Effortless" just says it all. Power, handling, comfort all are just effortless.
I totally agree, The street glide looks WAY Better👍👍😎😎
Jess, soooo glad you're likin' the Injun! I was really disappointed when you didn't seem to like it much when you took one on the group ride sometime back. It seemed to me that the bike you were riding might have been in rain mode b/c you complained that the bike couldn't seem to get out of it's own way and that you were super hot riding that day. I thought that maybe there were some vents that you were unaware of that weren't opened. You mentioned that there was very little wind on your legs on this ride and I happened to notice that there were two small wings down by your knees that maybe could be adjusted to allow more airflow? But IDK. Never the less, I'm stoked that you like the Challenger so much :-)
I’m entering the contest, probably won’t win, but there’s a first time for everything, and that’s one dang nice bike! 🤞🏻
It’s beautiful!
Better in every measurable way.. but bikes aren’t about metrics (no pun .. well maybe)
Bet u could get an amazing twin cam RK 103 and those will run for 150k miles or more if u look after it with basic maintenance

@@HerTwoWheels i see a new Challenger in your future. 🤣
Id have to ride a Challenger but I really don't think I could personally do without the Harley exhaust notes and for that matter I've never experienced anything thats more comfortable so I would test ride one. I love all bikes and love the look of the Challenger so...
You are a breath of fresh air, and your video's are excellent. Keep up the classy intelligent good work...
Test rode one a while ago loved it. Though I'm biased as I own a 2018 Springfield Darkhorse, lol. Balance on all Indians is incredible though.
I’m loving the bloopers at the end! “Mocha cycle” sums up your daily rides anyway lol.
I love that Challenger. On paper it looks better that the Harley Road Glide, and this confirms it. Thanks for your input!
Great video, I love hearing you laughing and having fun . Keep up the great show
Your acceleration laugh is awesome! I test rode one yesterday, dark horse model. It had the mini apes which I did not care for but otherwise a sweet ride.
I watched your last comment and want to say, I love watching your videos and hate to see you sad. I love ❤ your enthusiasm you bring. Keep up the good work
I had electric throttle on my Triumph sport mode usually has the best response and the least amount of lagging
I think just like the Road Glide the Challenger looks better in white. but I would have to go with Harley over the Indian only because there is not enough anything i.e. dealers, aftermarket parts and so on. But it is a super cool bike
Yes I can see it look real smooth. Great bike to own i do love those Indian bikes . And love your commentary on this bike keep up the great work.👍👍
It’s a Victory with the Indian label that Polaris purchased.
I test rode the 2020 Indian Challenger Darkhorse last year & absolutely loved it! 😍
Beautiful bike. Thanks for the test ride!
