It would be cool if HD and dealers just gave you the option for mid or forward controls when initially purchasing your bike, at no extra cost. I feel it's just a crucial part of being able to safely operate a bike.

Harley is starting to realize that they need to get with the times. These content creators have probably sold mor bikes than any tv commercial ever did. All these bike channels have so much influence in the bike community and people between 18-45 age groups spend more consume content on RUclips and other social media. Most middle age and young people hardly watch tv anymore. Harley must trust people like her and other content creators if the hope to save themselves and get with the times like every other bike manufacturer. I think this sportster S if the indicator that Harley will be making some sweet modern bikes from this point on and are getting away from their ancient outdated stuff the hung onto for so long. I’m so happy to see Harley changing with the times.

You are fantastic at delivering your opinion while making clear the angle from which you are assessing the bike. That makes this video very useful. You pick good words that anyone will understand, and you are knowledgeable enough to address users' questions to the level of detail they can handle.
You are the best video reviewer of motorcycles I have come across up to now. I shudder to say this because you are obviously good at a lot of things, but you may have been born for this.

Right on!. I know other manufacturer s put all this tech equipment on their bikes ( tyre pressure gauge s , all this rider modes ,rain ,dirt whatever but adjusting the engine braking??? I've been riding 47 years ( by the Grace of God) and never needed any of that crap🤔Ask yourself how many people are even going to use that stuff ? It seems like as it becomes available ( mainly through Moto GP ( traction control) manufacturer s try and one up one another for sales . Me personally I'd rather have just a motorcycle that is as uncomplicated as possible. Also if they made a motorcycle in it's purest form instead of a spaceship then.they should be able to bring down the price. HD has gone with that rectangular headlight which didn't do the FAT BOB sales any good (even though it grew on me ) and the plastic overhang on the outgoing FXDR😳Oh well I guess time will tell. But I still don't think you'll have many youngsters with a spare $15,000 laying around. Hopefully I'm wrong . But I'll stick to my more traditional Harleys.👍😎🇺🇸

I love the quality of this review and I'm very impressed with the editing, narration and other production qualities. You've come a long way. When I say that, I mean that if someone asked me for an example of a RUclipsr doing a terrible job of reviewing a bike, unfortunately your review of the Indian Challenger would be the number one example I would point to. That's okay, we all start somewhere and since then, when you fast forward to now, here we are with this fantastic video. It was organized, and I love the scheme you used of answering our questions. It showed us the features and benefits. It was convincingly honest. You did an excellent job of conveying the experience of approaching this bike with the same skepticism we feel, and the journey through the preconceived notions to exploring what the bike is actually about.
Keep up the good work. We see your efforts and appreciate them.

I have a 2000 'S' set-up as a tracker - rear sets, tuned exhaust, track seat. XR's were a follow on to these earlier 'S' models What makes ME grin is that it will accelerate out of a corner from 2000 rpm in 5TH GEAR... AND dual front disc brakes! These early ones were advertised as running 95 mph quarter miles. Fun bike!

Hi Buckeye girl! Southern Indiana Hoosier here. I've got an 06 sporty with a 1200. I bought it used and it had forwards on it. Before I ever rode it I changed to mids. I'm 5' 11" with 32" inseam. I like my feet under me. Mine has the 21" skinny on the front that can feel a little sketchy at times on crazy road surface. I'm not a knee dragger either so I got used to it. This sporty may not be a cross country bike but it sure is fun local. I like to take it out and stretch the belt on occasion
The new one is nice looking I guess but I prefer the more traditional look. Exhaust, and huge front tire just doesn't do anything for me.
    Stay safe! .

Forward controls were a thing for Harley because of their very tall, long stroke motors. Foot pegs had to be forward or would even more restrict lean angle. This new engine is oversquare vs undersquare which allows more lean angle of 34 regress for safety.

Great review! This is the second ride review I've watched, the first was Chase on two Wheels, who's never ridden a Harley before. I watched you before Blockhead because I wanted another perspective I may not have reached myself, but still a Sportster fan's view.
Everybody's big on those mids! I'm not surprised, I'm a fan of front-mids myself. You wanna be able to stand up in Cleveland, otherwise you're dodging potholes your whole life. Still, I like thet they came out with the sportiest CRUISER first, people need to respect forward controls because they're not going anywhere! Riding fast on forwards is an art form they don't really teach these days-to shift your weight on forwards you have to kind of pull yourself off the seat by the bars while bracing on the pegs and shift your butt around, it sounds more complicated than it is and you can carry some serious speed that way. It's good to know the high pipes aren't a deal breaker, but if anyone could pull it off Harley could!
I would suggest that anyone looking to ride two-up get a Softail, or just wait for the regular Sportster they previewed in the debut video for this bike. I'm pretty sure it's gonna have better shocks for two-up riding, anyway.

Fantastic video, Jess!!! SO informative and enlightening for someone that's never experienced a cruiser.
As a sport bike girl-I've been curious about different Harley bikes before, but never quite enough to ride one-but this one has caught my eye...might have to test ride my first Harley!🤔👀😁 Keep kicking butt Jess!!!

Agree with you there I think it just looks weird, to have forward controls, mind you I probably wouldn't have a problem with forwards being 6ft.

Hopefully one day I'll get to ride one. I did however get to ride the road king special and fat bob 2021( I think) Was out riding my marauder when I accidently stumbled upon the harley davidson "tour" bus. Long story short I really would love one of those xD

The old Sportster was almost $12,000 with paint, alarm, and abs. For $3000 more for the S you get so much more. Love the Standard RDRS as any bike making over 100 horsepower can get away from you. Trail brake longer and full throttle out of corners with traction control and wheelie control controlling limits of bike

I recently got to demo ride this bike and I have to agree with everything said in this video. I only got to ride the mid control version but it was what I would’ve preferred anyway. Never thought I’d be looking at a Harley as my next bike but it seems that’s what’s happening. I’m 22 and was never into traditional harleys but this one exceeded my expectations.

Awesome review! Excited for the changes H-D is making including including RUclipsrs such as yourself! As I mentioned on Blockheads channel as well, I want to see what else H-D does with the rev max, I would love to see it in a new Fat Boy with a Stage IV 😁

Usually with the smaller bikes - Sportsters and Softails - They come with Mids stock. For a taller guy like me - I like the fact that it comes with Forwards, but it's an even bigger upcharge to put the forwards on it. And I gotta put forwards on everything if it doesn't come with it.
