Watching a lot of the Chinese lifters in their clean, they just stand up like nothing is there. It's just a thing of beauty. So smooth with everything. Another thing, this battle was made all the more epic by all the contrasts. Ehab and just power and yells and split jerk. Lu with just smooth movements and not much emotion plus squat jerk. So epic. Loved it! Great video IWF! Let's see some more like this.
I think in China they teach a different technique. They don't jump and step heavily on the floor when catch the bar, instead they "slide out", or like Lu and Shi they just lift their heel very quickly and put down. It is said this technique is better for stability and reduce the impact on the joints, which could also be a reason why Chinese weightlifter can still perform nicely at even their 30s.
That is when you interact, as a Supporter, with each muscle of your body, from toe to jaw muscle. Lu's confidence and attitude is exemplary. Ihab's power and hunger for glory should have let him achieving golden medal at Tokyo. I am feeling with deep sorrow and anger that he missed the participation in Tokyo.
He's a legend and uses a technique that doesn't wear and tear his joints. I really like his way of snatching, his feet don't leave the ground, it looks a lot softer on the knees. The same goes for his clean and squat jerk.
I absolutaley adore Lu and think he is the best of this era but Naim Suleymanoglu also called pocket hercules snatched 152.2kg at 62kg and is the only weightlifter to have snatched 2.5 times his bodyweight. (Jerked 10kg more than triple his bodyweight with 190kg)

very proud of my country man Lyu Xiaojun, as well as all other athletes in the competition, so much hard work day in day out practice, in a perfect world they all won gold metal
@@j_nl7689 That's for sure, but beyond that (taking this video as an example), he used belts, double knee and wrist straps, and a tight suit. Lyu instead had the classic bands that help less than those Mohamed had as a second cover, the suit seemed a little less tight (at least in the leg area it seemed to me) and without the use of a belt. Thats triggered me so much even though there is actually no rule that prohibits these "tricks". So in this case Mohamed was extremely advantaged.
I'm new to weightlifting and have a question: I noticed when Lyu does his c&j, he jerks similarly to a snatch where he keeps his feet shoulder width apart and squats down and back up. Everyone else I've seen does it where they jerk into a stance with their lead foot forward and then they stand up. To a newbie like me it seems like more work to do it the way Lyu does. Why would an athlete choose to do it that way?
Yeah, people usually discourages teaching newer weightlifters a squat jerk because in theory you can lift more weight, but it is a lot harder a minor error can mess you up. Lu probably chose to do it because it works for him and the split probably never worked out for him.
