    Amazing work. I was informed by my local garage that 'the book' suggests this particular job involves 9 hours of labour.

    Just did the 2.0 hdi version of this on my back was a right mission!! I managed to leave the subframe in Thanks to watching your videos! The suspension arms had the drop links attached to them and they were under a lot of tension so managed to undo the strut to hub bolts and remove the driveshafts that way, managed to change the rear main seal too by moving the gearbox across! Thanks for the great content I love watching your videos

      The suspension arm are definitely a bit of a struggle. Apart from that the repair ain’t too bad.

      They are identical. But sometimes the pressure plate on the Fiat a reverse. Check it first as it’s a bit of a challenge getting the gearbox out in them

      Again, many thanks for taking the time to do these videos, fantastic work👍😎

    My family bought a jumpy a few days ago during the hot weather and after driving 400km to the seller. The kids and we parents were so exhausted that we even avoided driving the car after seeing that the check documents and inspection book were everything fine. Additionally the seller lured us there with the promise that the car is in great condition that we won't regret it to drive there. After signing the contract and paying I drove backwards recognizing vibrations while letting the backwards gear go. Then the same in the 1st gear. I thought that I have to train a bit more with releasing the gear pedal but also began to feel even worse in my stomach region foreseeing an probable issue.
    Drove to the other side of the street to domino pizza to finally get some food and sth to drink while seeing the seller moving quite fast away in the mirror.
    When getting fuel a few kilometers further I recognize a broken plastic casing above the tire. Tried to call the seller but he pushed me away on the phone.
    The next day we let a mechanic look for the problem who stated that the dual mass flywheel is finished. Estimated price tag at Citroen: 2500 Euro.
    Got hold of the seller. It was like talking to another whole new person (like a schizophrenic) which I also asked him for where the nice, caring seller has gone. He made clear to not bother him anymore.
    This irresponsible creature even sent us away with wrong plate numbers providing no insurance for the car.
    We gave the car now to citroen for more detailed checks hoping to find also a pimped mileage and will talk to a lawyer.
    My big hope is that citroen says everything is fine beside this flywheel thing because I like the car. It is perfect for our familiar situation but the price tag of 2500 to 2600 Euro is not available.
    Someone in the comment section stated that it only costs 500€ in France to get this stuff done. Is this true?
    Then we would drive over the border and get it repaired there.
    I even thought about making the repairs myself in a rental garage but it seems quite difficult here in the video. I made already a lot of repairs on cars but never loosened the engine from the gearbox.
    I hate this situations. My wife could cry all day long, we have no car, have 3 kids and have to borrow cars from family who doesn't share our kind of "free thinker and unconventional living values.

      Dual mass flywheel? 2.0 hdi engine. 500 or 600 euro for a classic clutch that the price...not enough for a dual mass kit.

    • @Instant-Fun
      @Instant-Fun 8 месяцев назад

      @@14KiloWhisky I dropped all efforts back then as soon as the sellers father intervened and travelled via train to us, picking up the car and returning our money. Before what happened was that the Citroen garage chief evaluated the car and had a repair list of 4.000 Euro value and especially he added that the yearly state inspection ("TÜV" by GTÜ) was looking crooked. All in all it was a scam which we could luckily turn away with a lot of pressure by a lawyer at the end.
      However, thanks a lot for reacting!

    Outstanding work. I was wondering is it the same to do this on a 1997 Peugeot Boxer 1.9TD? I've got a decent van to buy in Portugal, but it needs a clutch, so wondering how the job is done.

    After changing all the disks and pads, the coolant and using seafoam to give life to my old citroen jumpy, the clutch decided to go.
    I've basically watched youtube videos to learn everything about cars, would I be out of my depth doing a job like this? I'd rather buy the tools myself than pay a garage and learn along the way, but I also need my van to run. The garages in France want about 500 euros, I figure that I need to buy the parts, at first glance around 150 euros and a big jack to hold the engine about 80 euros.
    Any tips and advice would be appreciated

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  4 года назад +2

      Daniel Leech
      The job itself is not too bad as there are plenty of room to access the bolts.
      You only need a 2 tonne jack. Take extra caution and use two axle stand per side.
      You will need Allen keys and mostly 11,13,15,16mm socket. If you get a set go for the 1/2 drive.
      You may need a few spanners. And definitely an 11 mm.
      If ever you get stuck along the way just drop us a message.

      @@WMCS Thanks for the reply
      I have all the tools except the big jack you have and I don't have a torque wrench. Do you have a method for remembering where all the bolts go back? Did you need any special grease or any extra things not in the video?

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  4 года назад

      Daniel Leech I don’t use torque wrench. These bolts once you tighten them up, they are good.
      I use red rubber grease on the gearbox shaft to stop clutch drag.
      One thing i always do is leave all the rear facing bell housing bolts in from starter motor down.
      All the front lower ones I put them on the floor at the front. The three top ones I leave on the scuttle panel at the top. And that’s all the bolts there is.

    • @danielleech1988
      @danielleech1988 4 года назад

      @@WMCS Okay, nothing left but to order the parts and a few tools.
      I was changing the fuel filter today and think I got diesel all over the place, do you think that could be causing the slippage? can diesel even get to it?

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  4 года назад +1

      Daniel Leech a bit of spillage wouldn’t cause it to slip. Unless there was maybe close to a 1/2 litre directly into the clutch. They usually go at about 90k miles on these. Most of the time it’s the pressure plate springs that loses it’s rigidity.
      One thing worth mentioning. Get a gearbox guide tube and replace that as well.
