    Hiya Kevin, thanks for taking the time to record your work. I'm about to do the clutch on my old 03 expert with 125k miles and one owner from new so it's worth doing. Someone mentioned above about the DMF and I'm curious too. Was that converted earlier to a solid flywheel or is that how the later ones come? Reason I ask is I have a solid flywheel and clutch that's done 7k that I took out of my old van that I scrapped. Was gonna bite the bullet and replace with new clutch and DMF but think maybe I'm being too fussy and should just put the nearly new clutch and flywheel in and have done with it. It worked fine in my old van just not quite as silky but hardly noticeable. Your thoughts and knowledge much appreciated. Regards John.

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  3 года назад

      These engines doesn’t come with DMF.,
      The springs are built into the clutch. A very good design. And the clutch is heavy duty.

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  3 года назад +1

      I lower it from the sump.
      But don’t like the idea of jacking it up from the sump as the risk of it caving in and damaging the it from the weight of the engine and transmission combined
      are highly probable.

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  3 года назад

      Hey Alan. The good thing with rubber grease it doesn’t disintegrate. 10 years from now it’ll be as fresh as the day it’s put on. So no oxidisation will happen on the bolt threads. And the clutch plate won’t ever bind on the spline and no premature wear. Let me know your thoughts.

      Hi Pete.,, hope you’re keeping well too.
      That’s a luxury now at my age, to keep the cockles warm.

    Are you AI? While watching your video, I asked windows copilot why you need to remove the front axels when replaceing the clutch on a peugeot expert & it gave a brief explanation about accessing the clutch assembly & then pointed me right back to your video. I guess our AI overlords aprove of your Ninja skills :D

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  3 года назад +2

      A bit of a contentious subject 😁.,, but in my opinion unless it’s an off road car I don’t see much of a point. I’ve seen cars without undertrays the engine looking spotless and cars with undertrays looking like a rust pot.
