Loving this Rush journey we’re on. Lifelong drummer and Neil fan but recently took up the bass and Geddy Lee is so the man. His bass tone was perfect match for Neil’s playing.
Greetings from NC again!! The tonality, the attention to detail and the exact placement of that godforsaken glorious gong bass drum (during I guess the bridge portion of the song) is perfecto! And the open and clasping of the hi-hats add an extra layer to your performance. I played this through my home theater because I just got a new SVS subwoofer and your drums sound better than Neil’s Tama’s! What better way to end the video with a little ditty all your own. Good stuff as always Jeff. If you can pick up Signals on the 5.1 DVD Audio format or stream it in Dolby Atmos it’s surprisingly a good mix. You’ll hear sounds you didn’t know existed. The Atmos version I think is better because the 5.1 DVD-Audio version sounds kinda thin.
I've heard of Atmos but don't know anything about it. And in here I only have the monitors that you see, no surround sound or anything. Heck, no regular TV so far, don't even know if I will! Thanx for the compliments, especially on the gong. I had a sound guy friend over last week and he helped me fine tune it and I think that we have the gong dialed in even more than what you heard - we shall see!
Thanx! I experimented this time - the foot cam is the one behind the floor tom/gong drum and I'm digging that angle. but the HH seems to be mainly quarters and during the gong section I am just splashing/closing it, not much to it, just rocking the hat back & forth
Awesome Jeff!. This is one of my favorite songs of Neil's (and Alex's crazy solo!). I have to ask you, since you have my dream studio, what do you do for a living? Or more importantly, what does it cost to build something like that (approximately)? Not to get too personal but it's actually a life goal of mine to have a drum studio. Is it sound proof? Even a fraction of what you have would be incredible for me. The windows are amazing, too, kind of reminds me of Le Studio! :)
Hey brother, thanx man!~ What's your email, I'll send you some specifics. But what I'll answer here is that the only soundproofing is 6” walls (vs regular 2x4) and spray in insulation vs the pink roll out junk. We also live a good distance from everyone so that’s not an issue/concern like it would be in a subdivision. A few guys that have been over have all agreed that the windows (which were on purpose and that I love!) probably leak the most sound and they are also good. They are Andersen 100 series. It’s a noticeable difference when you shut the door and all windows are closed. Anyway, hit me up if you’ve got specifics. It’s been a whirlwind year - they dug the first scoop feb 21 and electric was turned on June 22.

Awesome man, if I was going to do another instrument it'd be bass
your toms sound incredible
Great job Jeff!!
Thanx man!
Excellent! Love the embellishments and outro!!!
Thanx Freddy, I hear things and want to add them when I think it'll work

Very intricate one-off fills in this track. Well played, that looks tough.
Thanx man, this is def one of my "unicorns". That fill in the middle... I had to do it half speed and work up the sticking/placement
Masterfully played!
Sweet Jeff!
Very impressive cover!❤
Thanx! I've always loved this tune
You know what you're doing.
Excellent cover with your own individual additions as usual Jeff!
Thanx brother!
Wow!!!! 😮
The old drum stick in the back pocket trick jajaja, cool cover and nice kit.
Yep, I threw a stick in the previous take so figured I better be safe 😀
I seen your short film the other day and was hoping you'd post the full version. Nice work, Jeff
Absolutely brother! I was going to crop/pan some more on this one but my SSD crapped out so fortunately I'd already saved this one
@@JeffWald it’s perfect! Good work
Awesome cover, great ending too.
Appreciate it!
Well done laddie! I liked the foot/hand combo ~1:40 and the extended outro.
Thanx dude! It seemed to fit so... Why not?! 😅
Another amazing cover Jeff! 🔥
Thanx brother, Rob!
Truly amazing. Especially your hihat foot. Wish you had your foot cam

Sounds great Jeff!
it's all your fault! 😀
@@JeffWald I'm glad about that, lol!
Outstanding Brotha!!! Loved your personal extra "fills" in there too!!! : >)
Thanx man! I don't want to take away from Neil's part but also know it's OK to add stuff that he didn't do that'll fit
Completely understood! I know some may have a problem with it,but not I ! I think it (as You said) only "adds" to it!!! Great job Brotha! @@JeffWald

Awesome work Jeff!! Is that the new studio?
Indeed it is!
@@JeffWald It looks gorgeous!
Jeff incredible as usual. Are those Neils old drums? they sound incredible
No, that's my 2014 Masterworks. But my friend owns the CAR kit, still in great shape
@@JeffWald these drums sound better than any kit Neil ever played, in my opinion.
@@russmartin1814 wow, thanks Russ. I'm so used to his sound I don't even compare it with mine. But glad to hear it's in the same league!
I come here for the toms and the Wuhan. 🤘
hahahaha. I did an A-B w/ the Wuhan vs his - man... its spot on!
@JeffWald yes, the Wuhan is identical. Is it the 18" or 20"?
@@NikkiNexo777 18". I checked w/ Robert (owner of the CAR kit) and he confirmed that Neil used the 18. Only $97 at Sweetwater!
