Mike CS Company valuations are hard to do - and highly debated - even for well-established companies with a solid history of profitability. For new companies, with essentially no history, estimates of potential profit, cashflow, and profit are hugely variable. The slightest of things could see a new company's value move by massive amounts (in percentage terms). To confidently assert, for example that a fledgling company is definitely not worth (say) 500k, is pure folly.

However, to be fair, it actually is a really good idea. Soda can holders exist, to keep cans on their side so they roll out as you take one. Icecube trays exist so you can easily make and hold ice. My family has a butter stick holder, which you can press the base and slide the stick out at measured intervals so you can cut proper segments off. I think Peter said "I'm out" so he can say "It doesn't stack up" :o)
For anyone who's been anywhere near company valuations, especially startups or near-startups, the confidence with which both inventors and Dragons assert their opinions about what a business is worth, is truly breathtaking
Interesting..explain?
Mike CS Company valuations are hard to do - and highly debated - even for well-established companies with a solid history of profitability. For new companies, with essentially no history, estimates of potential profit, cashflow, and profit are hugely variable. The slightest of things could see a new company's value move by massive amounts (in percentage terms).
To confidently assert, for example that a fledgling company is definitely not worth (say) 500k, is pure folly.
@@tonycorke4240 gotta haggle though. If the inventor went in with a really low valuation, then more investors would probably take a punt.
Sadly this guy wasnt willing to flex too much
@@SkellyHell Haggling only makes sense if you've a firm basis on which to base an accurate valuation. I don't think the entrepreneur, nor the Dragons, have that basis.
My point is that valuations of companies this new are, essentially, almost purely subjective, so it's impossible to say whether the inventor or the Dragons should've been more flexible.
I know you have a drinking problem, camera pans to Rachel. Dang, that's cold.
12:45 "He couldn't buy your consultancy for 50,000." Not the point at all. He wasn't trying to buy consultancy for 50,000, he was being asked to give up 40% of his company.
Exactly!!
A buy back of the 10% could of closed that deal, The Dragons werent keen enough but it would of put them in a tricky spot
Walking up them stairs at the start almost finished him.
Well done Stef!....they made fun of your product until you mentioned the £45 million sales, with possible royalties!....Theo mood changed as soon as you mentioned it.
They are greedy bastards, and so, i hope to God you get one of those HUGE deals with royalies...and go and live with your millions!...well done Sir!
Oh its Stef! Selling makka pakka.. I can honestly say in all my years this is not an issue I've ever come across, keeping beers upright OR stacked in the fridge
I feel bad for you. I grew up in an area that doesn't have many bottled beer but def had many cases where we had parties and bottle beers were a pain
I wonder if the deal was really around the corner. How well is he doing?
This guy was a real nice guy, hopefully he did well out of it, tbf he knew his stuff also
Theo’s A Feacies
As of 2019 Rakastaka had a net worth of £53k. The guy lives just up the road from me! Mad to turn that investment down.
Bloody racastaca, sounds like a Hungarian vegetable. He said chaos in the fridge, oh my...really?!
I was thinking the same thing but the product has got somewhere and you can laugh but his wine rack has sold out on his website
Haha it does sound like that XD
🤣🤣🤣
Not Comfy • 14 years ago hilarious
ah u mean hungoverian lol
oh god
What a nice chap . Hope he done well .
solve your beer stacking problems; drink em
Ina Fitable 😂 😂 😂
Well I'm down for this simple solution.
I hope he found success, what a lad
On Amazon for £6 today, AND it answers my needs so I'M IN lol
My family drinks copious amounts of beer in the holidays and these would be in every fridge and also great for stacking beers in the icebox
Jenny: Canna stack me ciggies in it...? Then I'm out.
Decent chap. Appears to have more personal integrity than all the dragons combined. Hope he's now got his big deal and rolls royce.
At first these Dragons talked down to him and after they found out that it has some potentials they showed interest but wanted to rob him.
This idea actually is very well thought through and absolutely will be bought.
10/10, I don't drink alcohol but fantastic design
Good for him, if he already has deals coming in as royalty, why give away that much equity? this episode, the dragons are greedy!
I reckon good on him for standing his ground. 15% each was a fair counter-offer.
0:07 Ok Jenny jokes are always valid but are we just gonna ignore the host’s inability to look down the barrel of the lens!!!?!?
A much cheaper version is to stand up the bottles, this way they won't collapse if one takes one out of the middle.
He looks like the bigger version of the IT guy in Oceans 11 3:50
Nemesis ahahah yes 100%
Cross skills, this person knows so much from his work driving and being a family man. Kinda genius and his language is perfect really
Truth is rich people are sensitive and can take anything personally
*Rachel: I’m actually Jen from **_The IT Crowd_** and for that reason... I’m out!*
Hahaha I was thinking exactly this
High Ten! Oh damn!!!!
I don’t think he’s mad for turning them down he can do this on his own, the dragons once they have their claws in they will never let go and having 40% of his company is just crazy!
yup ....and he is actually a success as far as i have searched .
