- @Copwatchtv obtained body camera footage of an incident of a DWI investigation that happened in Houston, Missouri. It involves the Mayor of Houston's liquor business and a DWI investigation. An officer with the city got a call for service for a possible drunk driver.
He started his investigation and was trying to see his video camera footage of the suspect driving. That is when Mayor Willy Walker showed up with his associate and started hassling the officer.
The featured content is NOT intended to be violent nor glorify violence in any way. We are sharing this footage STRICTLY for the purposes of news reporting and education.

What in the hell did I just watch!?? This is Like a horror movie small town scene where everybody is involved in something corrupt and secret.
What you just witnessed is the law. The mayor is actually lawfully (nor morally) correct. Private property laws are extremely strict and for good reason. The founding principals of our country were built upon the premise that the government must not be able to interfere with the freedom of its people. That the government be afraid of the population not the other way around.
When you set up a camera inside of your home the police cannot demand to have that footage (you can outright deny them). Its your property, the government cannot seize your property. Its your fifth amendment right against arbitrary search and seizure. For the people to be secure in their persons, places, papers, and effects from government intrusion.
The same applies to a persons place of business. The camera cannot be seized without the owners permission or upon a search warrant.
Additionally According to the united States constitution
"No Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
~ 5th amendment of the US Constitution.
Technically the cop could not have even gotten the warrant since he had no probable cause. (Probable cause is prima facie evidence (irrefutable hard evidence)).
Since the man declined to be tested the cop only had reasonable suspicion and circumstantial evidence. Without the Probable cause part if the equation he would not be permitted by law to search without a warrant that constitutionally cannot be issued by any judge.
@@timothystone3360your a piece of shit if you defend private video footage that would keep a drunk off the road

It almost looked like that lady changed her story to save her ass from being fired for calling the cops. She went from being cordial to not wanting to do anything with him.

@Tony Montana He didn't lie, he made an assumption that it was the cahier that called. That woman had an issue with the drunk till her boss showed up.

Shady? They don't have to provide private cameras and these cops look like they have started shit in the past to get that guy that fired up.
@stakehexthankmelater you would not be a good investigator if what you got from that guys explosive reaction is that someone ELSE is the problem. Bro isn't even the owner, just licking the owners boots, and he's more mad than the mayor is about this whole thing.
Guy said it himself that he was mad about the cop being out there yesterday. (doing his job, which would be watching traffic if your unfamiliar to what police typically do.)
@@stakehexthankmelaterand by the way. You DO have to provide camera proof of something like this. The license you have to aquire to sell alcohol requires you to cooperate in situations like this.
In fact, the mayor's license for selling alcohol got suspended for this incident, and he got chewed out by a bunch of people during some meetings for impeding on this investigation.

And he apparently had done it at one of their other stores too. Also if she legit didn't call him, that would confirm that the cop was doing something like that. @Dareon Allen Not necessarily, lying is intentionally misleading, the clerk may have lied to save face in front of her bosses, but either way officers aren't always told who made the call, it looks like he assumed it was the clerk because of what she said when he spoke to her, and the fact that she was the only person there when he arrived.

What’s even more incredible and unbelievable is, if that store did get robbed, and the yeller called to make a report, the police would have to take a report. That’s one of the downfalls of police work, the folks that cuss you, are also the same folks the police swore an oath to serve and protect.
With you on this one. Don't rely on any evidence on the video.
Cops are nothing but historians. Remember, they're not there to protect you, or prevent crime. They can't do a damn thing until AFTER the crime is over. I have never had a cop do a good thing for me in my 72 years. I stay where the State honors my God-given Right to Stand My Ground. I have had to pull my legally carried firearm four times in self-defense. Haven't had to shoot anyone yet, but came damn close one time. Cops just do what the Citizens used to do for themselves.
I don't know what you do for a living, and really don't care. Would YOU turn snitch for the cops and help them bust your customers? If the cop has evidence that the cameras held evidence, well that's what Court Orders are for, don't you know! It's a little bitty part of the Bill Of Rights called Due Process.
Just wait till it happens to You, my friend.
He will shoot the robber dead and erase the tape, then his buddy will swear up and down that he absolutely HAD to kill the guy because he wasn't from Missouri.
I love the fact he ran off the officer. I would be pissed too, if a cop sat across my business looking for an easy DUI.
I saw this in a Twilight Zone episode. LEO doesn’t realize he’s dealing with Aliens 👽 from Mars that don’t know Earth’s Way.
That's a mayor who definitely values his wallet more than he does public safety! That guy is definitely a repeat offender he was just locked up the day before.
Yeah but cops cant ask for check private cameras to see if he is driving a the car,he cant detain him if he havent see him driving.
@@efrainherrera5373They can ask. Cops use gas station surveillance to solve crimes (and convict people in court) all the time. Would you be in favor of the mayor refusing to hand over evidence of a murder or sexual assault? Where is the line?
She claims that he scares the shit out of her but yet she's the one with a lit cigarette outside around the gas pumps.😅
You’re silly if you think that’s how it works. A cigarette will not ignite gasoline. And the amount of fumes needed for a lighter to ignite it from 15’ away is enough to choke a person.

@@Jayen4 - Well. it would be libelous if anything. Slander only pertains to the spoken word, *libel* to the written word.

A mayor that supports drunk driving. As an elected official I would hope that he would want to keep drunk drivers off of his roadway for public safety.... and to his comment about sitting across the road. I would have no problem buying alcohol while a cop is sitting across the road. The only people that would have that problem are drunk drivers. Seems like the business floats on drunk drivers stopping by if he thinks his customers don't like it.
Exactly. Gas stations get robbed all the time and clerks murdered. I would welcome the police parking across from my store for safety of my employees if nothing else.
They don’t care. They make money off those drunks. I am not sure they would care if that drunk drove out of there and mowed down one of their own kids. They don’t seem to have a conscience.
@Truth Sayer 100 percent a thief deterrent
@Dee yep, wouldn't doubt if it's a big money maker for them. Unfortunately one of thier "money makers" is going to hurt or kill someone.

When his business gets robbed do not respond. No authority.
Props to the officer for not loosing his cool, can't say I'd have had the same level of tolerance.
You mean the cop that lied and then refused to leave private property after being lawfully trespassed? You could have lost your cool but you would have been the one going to jail.
The officer did a very good job handling two low rent Karen’s
@@imtheman4805 he lied and was lazy, just let the guy go after he got told to rightly get bent. It’s crazy the amount of people praising the officer.
He didn't lie. At most it was a misunderstanding. It was more of an assumption it was the cashier that called. Because it seems that is what he was told.
@@IrishMikeShea He lied because he then said he didn't even know who called. If he didn't want to lie, he should have said "someone called, but I'm not sure who, dispatch didn't tell me". @Auntie Pha of course! Overcoming addiction is one of the hardest things to go through and it speaks to your strength to accomplish it. I'm sure you've dealt with a lot of condemnation throughout your journey, alot self imposed even. People are more likely to say the bad but when something good happens they ignore it. @@thryssinstitches9655 🎯You have amazing understanding of addiction. I hit rock bottom and wanted to quit drinking or die. And yelling like that isn’t normal. The mayor is trying to protect people who are breaking the law. If you don’t want to get a DUI, don’t drive drunk. That’s the right thing.
I can’t believe all the people that say the mayor was right. If that guy plows in to your family with his car, you’ll change your mind. Cop should have arrested the loud mouth for public disturbance.

The cop needs a warrant if the man says no and thats how the law works. They cant just demand the video.
He is in the right to not allow the police video access. They can get a warrant if they like. I know thats hard to understand for you bootlickers who like to bend over on demand, but some of us have integrity and can say "no" when we want as far as the law allows.
That being said, there seems there is more context to this video and just like the cops always ask when they kill some unarmed bastard in a hail of gunfire, maybe don't pass judgement on these folk and wait for more information to come out. If you listen to their engagement it is obvious they have an axe to grind with this particular officer. Furthermore, the officer even hints to Jeff that he's interested in retaliating or following up with the angry individuals about the incident which sheds light on this officer's influence from his ego. It was just shitty policing all around whether or not someone called them in and you'd have to be blind not to see it here and in 90 percent of LE elsewhere in the US.
And I can´t believe bootlickers are still existent and want people for things punished which didn´t happen. That drink guy didn´t even try to get into his car and drive away. So full stop on your "if"!
These people responding to you, calling you a bootlicker and questioning the word "if" are utter idiots. Every crime is an "if" before it happens. Idiots.
The business license to operate the liquor store has a clause requiring they cooperate with police performing police duties on business premises, that license can and should be revoked over this (though it hasn't). This mayor is in a couple of other issues with the city, while they allow city employees to take part in the towns health insurance they have to pay the premiums, they found out the mayor was just taking the insurance and paying the premiums with city tax money, $10,695 worth. And he says he's going to move for impeachment of a member of council he didn't name to be impeached for some reason. It seems most of the town thinks there are some illegal shenanigans happening at his gas/liquor store. Makes you wonder how this schmuck got elected mayor.
They're probably masons covering each other's butts, corrupt politicians. That's why I left a small town PD.
They only have to cooperate with law enforcement when it involves the sale of alcohol. This stop had nothing to do with the sale of any alcoholic beverages. Do you sitting around and dream stuff up?

Blow up doll you have no idea what you are talking about.
First, drunk could still have been arrested on public intox.
Second, mayor and ass could have been arrested for interfering with an investigation.
Third, police can investigate any crime, not just liquor sales
Fourth, selling alcohol to an obvious intoxicated person can lead to the arrest of the owner and clerk

Since I haven't confirmed it myself and it sounds like you can point me to the pertinent bit of state code pertaining to alcohol licenses I'd appreciate it if you would.
But I do believe the officer had probable cause between the phone call, the state of the man when the officer spoke to him, the statements from the clerk and the fact his vehicle was somehow at that gas station to believe he may have been and may be about to drive intoxicated. At that point the cop had every power to be there. He had no authority to force the mayor to show the tape, but he certainly had the authority to investigate a possible criminal act.
