Used to fish the Cowlitz in the 70s with silver x5 flatfish on sunny days. Switched to gold on cloudy days. And it worked great. My how methods change. You guys have a great channel. Been fishing everything and everywhere in the NW for 65 years. Still learning from you guys! 🐟. Fish on Ron

I went trout fishing the other day and I looked up at a tree and there was like 70 dollars worth of stealhead gear. It was crazy!
No joke this is kinda how I got myself through the winter season when I couldn’t find floats. 65lb braid with a 1/2 oz sinker tied to it, pulled about 10 floats plus spinners and other gear out in one day and restocked my box!!

The belly for trout, mouth for bass bluegill ect. Gillplate under mouth for catfishing.

Thank you. I had never fished before last weekend when i took my kids. It was fun but unfortunately we didnt catch anything in 3 hours... im as rookie as it gets, but its something i want to learn with my kids. I will be trying these methods in a couple of weeks when we go again. The only method we tried was a weight with a swivel, 18 inch lead and powerbait, but like i said, it didnt work. Not giving up though

When you refer to a bumper
Is that fluorocarbon line from braid
And then you put a leader from there on your barrel swivel
I always use a pink single hook wedding band with a piece of worm on it. I do use the method with the weight ahead of the bait though and retrieve it slowly. I end up slaying the trout all day long.
I'd be interested in tutorial on using flies w spinner rod in streams, creeks and small ponds. From start to finish.

Any tips for those of us that are stuck on the bank because we don't have boats or rafts? I went fishing for my birthday last weekend and managed to catch one rainbow trout, but I had three overall bite my kastmaster and couldn't quite set the hook right I guess? Even the one I managed to bring to the bank spat my kastmaster out right as my husband bopped it with our fish club. I guess I just assumed that if the trout was thrashing around with my hook in it's mouth, it basically set the hook themselves? Not the case, clearly! I should have brought home three trout, not one. I'm still fairly new to fishing, but I have done it enough times to know I absolutely love it. I just need a little more coaching.

Got a giant buck steelhead a couple days ago on the river on the fox spinner #1 in the then a hundred and 5 more.steel head small mouth large mouth rock bass and some blue gill tractor pulling took place there after.
Why do the line to line knot section if you are separating with a barrel swivel anyways. Guess I’m asking because I struggle with knots. Could you do the braid directly to the swivel? I also gotta say really well done video. Thank you

I think you want to taper when you can...like a fly line so it casts better?...and now that I think about it, it probably helps with low vis, so his braid isn't being seen so close to the bait?

Well it would be nice if there's a way that we could actually buy the addicted bobbers. I have been trying for months. And still have not been able to get them.
Light biting fish need a smaller bobber. Less resistance but enough tension to cause them to work harder at eating it .
Cast-a-bubble water weight bobbers work best at this i've found.

Do you find yourself floating to the sporting goods section of every store you enter? Buying fishing gear you don't really need? One or two extra spinners just in case, another spool of line, a backup reel in case you other backup reel stops working after your main reel stops working? If so, you might be an Addict.

Why do you start the floral to the braid before the swivel? I just tie the braid to the swivel then do your 4ft leader to the spinner

Got my new floats a day ago. Went to my local lake. About an hour in I got snagged. I lost the new float. Totally bummed. Good thing I bought plenty. I lose gear all the time with no issue. Loosing one of those floats hurts.
Did the same as I have one in a tree by a lake, even with a tree branch cutter I’m short of reaching it, might need a stepladder to definitively reach it but I have the bobbers on the way already
You need a mic muff for windy days.
