If you want some monster bull trout try the river that dumps into lake Cushman. It's catch and release only (no fishing license required, no bait) I stayed at the staircase campground that the river runs through and boy were there some monsters in there.
Oh yeah Washington has some gold bull trout
@@Cs-dt7eh I have not been to Cushman in a VERY long time. Used to live there down at Holiday Beach as a kid. Looks just as beautiful as it was when I left.

and run us throught some of your knots of choice and for what applications.
we dont get those big trout or steel head here on the southeast so doing the math to down size
is very important to us here. trying to figure out what size gear to buy that would be useful to us.

Any rod and any reel with around a 3 to 4000 series. 20 pound braid to a fluorocarbon bumper of your choice I like p line ss 12 pound.

Jig heads multiple sizes and mice tails and power bait. Not bad to have an asenal. And even a good ol red wiggler kills them brookies and browns on the back woods root beer water.
Bottom line is get a rod that feels great in your hands and go fishing. It's all about learning, having fun and respecting mother nature. I like octopus hooks on the smaller side.

Man I wish you would do a packable Kalle rod video. In these parts we need them but there are way to many junk rods of this nature out there. A solid trout rod that we can get to break down to put in out packs would be crazy. 6ft maybe in length. 3 or 4 pieces. Solid. Non buggy whip top piece. Think about it. You too could use one Jordan.

What a great day on the river! I definitely learned something! I would primarily fished spinner type lures, starting with the beloved Rooster Tails. I wouldn't have even considered a bobber presentation! It's either fly fishing, or spinners. I would've sure missed out!

I've been scanning online trying to find a video like this because bobber/float fishing is my favourite method especially on light gear it's so much fun, I subscribed bro , beautiful scenery and beautiful fish aswell, I'm lucky to live on the isle of man where we have the best of both worlds river and sea are minutes away.

Yup. Guys up in Pulaski ny have used this method since I was really young. 40× yrs.. micro worm with the same setup to.
Living in Washington it's been really hard for me to find good river spots to actually go trout fishing. So many lakes near me but all the rivers have skunked me so far
I'm On South Skagit river. It's a pain In the a** it's snag central lost 50$ worth of gear this season already...

Dude love your videos. Been tying Flys since I was 10 and the only time I fished lures and bait was for bass and catfish when I was in MS. Now I'm back in Northern NY and you got me hooked on spinners. Gonna try that this year on our streams. I kinda got burnt out on the fly rod so I haven't hunted trout in a while. Can't wait until April picked up to spinning outfits today

Now lets see a bobber natural presentation vs a fly fishing presentation. Cause I bet you would get some awesome blowups on some flies though I typically prefer bobber fishing myself.
Love the enthusiasm Jordan has for this sport man. Can you tell me the type of rod and reel on the bigger rod you started out with? I’m looking for something a little bigger but not necessarily salmon sized with a spinning reel. Cheers and tight lines!

Ever use a Thomas Buoyant? A lady gave me one at the lake the other day. Although I didn't catch anything on it seems quality and love the flash it put on. Can't wait to get it in the river.
