I’d love to feedback on this… 1. I bought a bigger net for future videos. 2. I did not snag the fish intentionally, it tried to eat my lure a minute prior as I was moving it and then I cast at it again and bounced it near the fish and it turned at ate it in between bounces, both me and me friend in the boat saw it turn and hit the lure, I then set the hook and it pulled the lure into its face, it tried to eat it and either missed and it hits its face or it swiped at it with its face instead. Nonetheless it tried to eat it and I would never purposely try to snag a fish.
When fish head hunt baits they can get hooked in the head. it happens, if you know she chewed it its still a catch IMO. A fish may eat and get hooked in the mouth and through out the fight it can catch the other hook in the eye/gills/head. Its easy for the fish to leverage one hook out when the fish is hooked by multiple hooks.
Sometimes you'll get foul hooks don't beat yourself up over it! A fish like that can live with an eye hook. Those gill hooks are the killer. Awesome video.
Those are some sick fish, man! I've never been musky fishing because there's not many good lakes for that here, but it's definitely something I want to give a shot at sometime. Keep up the good work!
@@NASPELTZ just went out on my own a week ago and caught a musky on a jackhammer after I got tired of throwing giant glides. the only other time ive caught musky was on a guide
Muskies do like to just swipe at lures. It's funny how different they can be than pike. Last musky I caught swiped at my topwater lure 3 times and then finally got the rear treble hook. Pike usually just swallow the whole thing and then take 15 minutes to get all the trebles out of their mouths.
Glad bothbyou guys got one. But you're absolutely right, top water is my fav way to catch fish. My biggest Muskie i even caught was on a buzzbait when, i was fishing a pocket just off rapids right before sundown. Weird spot and time for a huge muskie but it will be one I never forget
Like the way you present the video aspect from the hat vizor .....gives us fishing men..... to see the fish .. casting...then the netting. from your view point... i watch a lot of pod casts on you tube.... your video view point is good...almost like, I'm fishing .....
Wait you make musky videos too! Awesome. I’m new to this channel. Just saw the playground vids and saw you catching pike while I was waiting for musky to open. Good luck cheers!!
@NASPELTZ well your videos have helped me with my recovery I used to have a boat but I've had medical issues and had to get rid of it I'm now an amputee so watching your videos have really helped me through those times so thanks for the great content ice fishing and all
This means so much, I’m glad I helped you through it, where did you say your from again? I’d love to invite you on my boat and we can do some trolling or anything that fits your needs
Beautiful vídeo, I see you from Spain, I am a predator fisherman in freshwater, large mouth bass, pike and walleye and I really enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing
I’m in PA it seems like Muskie and pike are common up north have family in Minnesota used to spend a lot of younger years there that being said Muskie are supposedly in abundance here in PA where I’m at I guess it really it the fish of 1000 casts
love the vid ... i´m from Italy but i was fishing in Minnesota back in summer of 2014 ( 10 years ago ) i was fishing for Musky , Bass on a private Island i think it was called "Pelican Lake" what´s the difference between a "Musky" and "Northern - Pike" ? ( i´m sorry my english is not so good )
On that lake we were trolling for musky in the southern bays of and my dad snagged a 21 3/4 smallmouth that was just a tank!! At the time they needed to be 22” or bigger to be able to keep them legally, we were pretty disappointed because we couldn’t stretch the fish another 1/4”
I have a cabin on Mille Lacs. I fish opening weekend. The lake is stacked with boats - serious competition out there. I didn’t see another boat this entire video. The skis are obviously spawning. Set up with bass gear. So, when exactly was this video made?
I'm not big on fishing gin clear lakes or sections of lakes because if you can see the fish from 50 yards away they can see you. Not to say I haven't caught quite a few in clear water but it tends to be in the deeper water 20 feet and more that I catch them. Nice job in the skinny water. Edit: Early season, early morning and right around sunset they tend to be shallower.
Fr, I gotta work on that. I just think if the water is so clear and I don’t see a fish following that there isn’t one, but they can be under the boat or just out of sight and waiting.
The big size net is not for the easy of netting them only but to make sure they can lay flat on the water. Think of it as a live well for Muskies and prevent their fins to split etc. worth to spend some cash on a good net.
Hey bro cool video. I heard you say to wet your hands before you handle these fish. I have never heard that before was just curious what’s the reasoning behind that ? And is that also just for muskie? I am more of walleye fisherman not much of Muskie catcher. But I still haven’t heard that. Thanks
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPENS TO ME but the fish don't bite btw u are one of the best fishing youtubers if not the best, better than lojo or norm you don't waste time and get straight to the fishing, the other guys talk for 7 minutes catch 1 bass and that's the vedio, but you out here catching quality this is Jon bingus quality right here
Your the best, this means so much, I was a little surprised the big fish ate it, I saw about 10 fish prior to this that didn’t care for any of my lures, this one I think got a little pissed off by all the times I cast at him and ate it.
@GCtwoTHREE the Muskie I caught in this video ate the glide. Just didn’t stick in the mouth. It happens a lot when they shake and it pulls it into a different part of the face. He hit it and one of the trebles went into the eye
Nice fish, but that net is WAY too small for Muskies, both opening and bag depth. A net too small causes additional abrasion on the skin and fin fraying. Keep chasing fish, but always use the proper equipment for Muskies to keep the stress down and physical damage to the fish at a minimum.
@@NASPELTZ We know you understand! I saw his comment first, but when I got to the first Muskie you guys caught, the first thing you said was “is this the biggest net we have?” when going for the net. If that isn’t indicative of you already knowing what you need, then I don’t know what else is.
@KC-bg1th you sound way to aggressive BTW idk if you trying to tell him he knew that and he should of bought a net before hand which if that's the case calm down or 2 if your defending him
When you bring you’re lure to you’re boat do some figure 8’s with your lure in the water (only works with Muskie) for some odd reason when I’ve done a little research and heard some tales from buddies a lot of the Muskie they caught was in the 8 motion i don’t know why but Muskie love hitting it when there’s a figure 8 motion.
I remember my first time fishing I got a yellow perch and it was beautiful. Wish I can fish again. And I used a bobber to help me now if it was a fish. And it has spikes on its fins (of course) and I touched it and I got a little bleed on my finger but healed in a day. But that was the best time of my life. Casting was great. 😅 love fishing, I’m a younger fisher but the first time I caught a fish. Man it was the best. (I’m subbed btw could you replay to my comment maybe?)
If you don’t want to count it, you don’t have to, but I absolutely would. As long as the fish tried to eat it, it counts as a catch. That means the lure worked and got the fish’s attention. However, like I said, it is up to you whether you want to count it or not.
I just came across you man and your the best I also watch a guy name Ace Videos 2 and you guys both are excellent fisherman if you could tell me what is a good bait for catfish I would love it thanks
