  • Micro worms for trout are one of the most underutilized and deadly techniques to catch trout on creeks, rivers, and streams. Using a fixed float system and small micro plastic worms fished on a jighead or on a small hook with a split shot can help you catch a lot more trout! In this video Marlin from Addicted Fishing is going to run you through the whole trout fishing rig and setup. Rod, reel, line, floats, worms and more! We hope this helps you catch more trout on your local river or stream. Thanks so much for watching our videos, we appreciate you!!

@@outdoorsanimalsandmusic3014 yes. Trout magnet makes an EZ float that works in faster water. What I appreciate is not only do you guys take the time to explain the setup clearly, but you guys don't push specific products on the viewers. I have used hard lures in the past but going to try some running sinkers with powerbait and corn in the pools, and some soft plastics (minnows, paddle tails and worms) in the run. Even picked up a nice spinner that looks like a rainbow minnow. Can't wait, and watching this vid has got me even more pumped!

Mepps are by far the best spinner for trout. And a Rainbow will always nail it. You just have to get them hooked on the first hit, which is most of the time anyway. I've literally caught thousands on the Mepps spinners, gold, silver, with hair or a little plastic tube or bead. No other spinner brand is as dependable. Period.

    First time viewer..
Im amazed at this heavy LARGE tackle you have chosen yet keep calling is small and light! 😳 A 6.6 rod and a 3000 reel & 20# braid!?!? I catch 10-15# Stripers and Blues on that in the ocean!! 💪🏼🤟🏽
I do like the braid lines and find them creeping i to my light tackle for streams. I like 4.10-5.2' ultra light rods with 100/1000 or smaller micro reels loaded with 2~4# lines. Maxima has been my choice for decades. One rig has 6# braid and works well.
Love fishing these micro worms too. I fish them on a Aberdeen #8~10 hook. Hooked thru "collar" of the worm natural. For a float I use a cheater fly fishing "float" its adhesive foam in figure "8" that pinches line and sticks to itself.
    Informative video.

And I'd be using my 10ft fly rod with 6x tippet and size 14-18 flies to start.
Then I would use proper technique and actually catch fish.

I use those exact worms. I put them on a size 6 hook and use my fly rod for a slow sink and spastic action when I twitch. I catch tons of trout doing that.

When I’m not using feather or hair jigs and they are truck trout this is my go to method. When the streams open the last weekend in April I will be using this technique. The other guys will be using power bait and salmon eggs and have to re-bait after each nibble! Lol

Wow, fishing is not as easy these days apparently as it was in the 1950's when I was a kid. Thinking of giving it a try again, after 60 years but man it appears catching enough fish for a good fish dinner might be a problem. Thank you for the helps.

Thank you guys for all your content I just started fishing seriously about 3 years ago I've made so much progression year by year and I continuously do so. I do have a question though I keep watching this video over and over maybe I'm missing it but how long is your leader line supposed to be?

As far as rods go my go to is a 9 ft okuma kokanee casting rod with a kast king zephyr finesse baitcaster. It is basically just a downsized version of my standard steelhead set up and it really is a blast. Certainly not the most practical but in my opinion it is about the most fun way possible to catch a trout. One of the rivers not far from my home is full of 18 inch plus brown trout and on that set up it feels like hooking a pitbull!
