Hearing everyone’s peaceful and firm singing, thousands of hearts beating for God’s strength and light; whirling in the sky to praise God’s rhythm, expressing their own voices and feelings to praise the growth of all things in harmony; seeing the people’s heartfelt singing, The vitality of life is grateful for God's natural nourishment and courage to generate power; the grace and life power attributed to God's credit continue to develop and push history forward!
All day at work today this song with the violins was in my mind. I told the lead hand I can't wait to get home so I campsite to this song. Man!!! WOW!!!😁😊😇👍
Thank you for this heavenly, beautiful interpretation of this song. My wife died two months ago at the age of 66 and I'm sitting here listening to this song and crying, also because the music is so incredibly beautiful.
Hi @SBlum-cb8dx, we're so sorry for your loss. We know comfort and healing can come through prayer and by relying on Jesus Christ at this difficult time. He loves you and can mend your heart and give you peace. www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/believe/life-has-purpose/grief?cid=42001274
My choir does this each year and we surround the audience to end the concert and it's such a surreal moment. Truly a beautiful song, especially when the entire high school choirs join together and we don't get to practice it with everyone at once. It turns out amazing and breath taking
Mack Wilburg did the arrangement. I heard the exact same version sung by the Boys Choir at Winchester Cathedral. It sounds just as beautiful, the main difference that it is scaled down to a smaller chamber orchestra and there are not hundreds of voices. I highly suggest it to you. Try: Winchester Cathedral Choir - Still Still Still
I love the violins playing the opening strains!! I feel like just swaying along to it every time that I hear this hauntingly beautiful hymn performed by the Tabernacle Choir! One of my most favorite and beloved Christmas songs! Keep the angelic music coming Tabernacle Choir!
Still, still, still One can hear the falling snow For all is hushed The world is sleeping Holy Star its vigil keeping Still, still, still One can hear the falling snow Sleep, sleep, sleep 'Tis the eve of our Saviour's birth The night is peaceful all around you Close your eyes Let sleep surround you Sleep, sleep, sleep 'Tis the eve of our Saviour's birth Dream, dream, dream Of the joyous day to come While guardian angels without number Watch you as you sweetly slumber Dream, dream, dream Of the joyous day to come
This music brings so much peace and spirit to the Christmas season. Each year I look forward to listening to this beautiful choir during the holiday season. The orchestra and choir are simply perfect with this version of this carol. Simply breathtaking...
Brings back memories of a special Christmas a few years ago spent staying with my son and his family in the Salt Lake City area. There is no place on earth like SLC at Christmas and being with family!
In are school choir we are singing this and I was curious to what it Is absalutly gorgous I'll be looking forward to singing it but I'll never sound as good as this !
Still, still, still, weil 's Kindlein schlafen will. Maria tut es niedersingen, ihre keusche Brust darbringen. Still, still, still, weil 's Kindlein schlafen will. Schlaf, schlaf, schlaf, mein liebes Kindlein, schlaf! Still, still, still, He sleeps this night so chill. The Virgin's tender arms enfolding, Warm and safe the Child are holding. Still, still, still, He sleeps this night so chill. Sleep, sleep, sleep, He lies in slumber deep. While angel hosts from heav'n come winging, Sweetest songs of joy are singing. Sleep, sleep, sleep, He lies in slumber deep.[2]
has anyone ever noticed how this choir uses no vibrato. In my opinion, vibrato has little use in group singing. I think i have discovered one of the reasons this choir sounds so angelic. This carol is also my favorite that MTC performs.
I love that the choir uses no vibrato. It makes the sound more uniform and controlled. So gorgeous. That was one of the things I noticed as I got into actually studying music as opposed to just playing.
I can tell you why. He lives. I have been to many parts of the world and every church of jesus christ of latter day saints, always has the same spirit. I don't know the language, however I DO KNOW the feeling.
@Marc Herrmann, the director of the Tabernacle Choir is named Mack Wilberg. Many of his arrangements are available to purchase online and where sheet music is sold. We hope that helps!
You can order this choral arrangement directly from Oxford University Press or through any major sheet music retailer - JW Pepper, etc. The orchestral parts are available on hire from OUP. Search Google for "Still Still Still Wilberg Oxford" and you will find it.
Which Heaven , which God ? Mormons do not and never will believe in the Bible and the God of the Bible and the Heaven of the Bible . I ask again my question , which Heaven , which God ? Their teachings are solely based on the Book of Mormon and the Pearl of Great Price not the Bible sad to say. The Mormon religion teaches all Mormons can become gods !
Only one God , only one Son . God the Father and his wonderful Son Jesus . No other Gods . Beautifully sung but they sing in their hearts of a different Jesus to the one in the Bible . He was never satans' brother nor will any Mormon ever be a god. Bitter and sweet this rendition . Beautifully sad . May all Mormons find the true Jesus .
Hi Ken, thanks for watching the video and for your comment. Mormons or LDS Church members, properly referred to as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are Christian. We believe Jesus is the Son of God and our loving Savior. He lived to teach us, and He suffered and died to save us from sin and death. Because of Him, we can be forgiven, we can overcome challenges, and we can live with God again someday. To learn more, visit www.comeuntochrist.org/beliefs/jesus-christ.
Hi, I'm just so sad that your beliefs are founded on a man who has led millions astray and that that man is not the man Christ Jesus who led millions to a new Life in him and who created everything in the Universe and who is also the only Son of God ...no other Gods. You do not believe in the Jesus of the Bible , you believe in a counterfeit Jesus dreamed up by men and more particularly Joseph Smith a false Prophet. Your religion is false and I can only feel sad for you and hope that one day you will enter into a real and true relationship with God and his only Son Jesus Christ where faith in him alone is enough , for Jesus himself said ..." I am the Way the Truth and the Life " . No other way only through him ,not religious ordinances or how one dresses or Temples made with hands or men making up rules or ticking boxes for God . Why would Jesus have come and suffered and have died if that was how you gained Salvation. In all things Christ MUST have the pre-eminence. The Bible has all the answers not the 'Book of Mormon' or the 'Pearl of Great Price' ....or any religious sect .
A truly beautiful arrangement of this composition. I have never heard anything like it.
This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard in my entire 42 years and 5 months on earth.

You should also listen to the Original from Austria. They do it with the Zither

I agree. It is a lovely crisp, clear and pure sound.
A good choir section sings as "one voice".
I can tell you why. He lives. I have been to many parts of the world and every church of jesus christ of latter day saints, always has the same spirit. I don't know the language, however I DO KNOW the feeling.
Hugh Jones I know this is late, but the piece is meant to be sung without vibrato on purpose 😂
Before happy can look för Andrea Bocelli. He vas blind but know he se. Soli deo gloria
at 2:38 a very pretty Mormon violinist
This song is came from Austria.
Cool
Thanks for the tip!
A tad slow. Better at about 85 bpm. But beautiful.
Could you folks sing and play instruments to o little town of Bethlehem ?
its similar to polish carol "Gdy się chrystus rodzi"
I am doing it in chorus
I wonder how to get the notes for my Choir and orchestra! Is that possible?

That's because this is God's Own Choir. Vibrato isn't used in Heaven either.
Lol!! I am still not sure what vibrato is exactly, but this makes me laugh
