    also here's a good tip for new phantom 3 owners, you probably know by now that the wheel on the right shoulder of the controller controls the shutter speed but what you might not know is that if you push the wheel in it'll toggle between iso and shutter speed so you can control both from the same wheel :)

    NOTE: Please note that the FPV is choppy on the phone segment because of the screen capture software on the Android app. The iOS app was not available at the time. I have flown up to 4,000 feet with crystal clear video on the FPV. Adding comments about the video, won't fix it, we are all aware of it. Thanks

    8:37 i've given my phantom 3 about 3 test flights after previously flying the 2nd generation phantom 1 (it's rarely talked about but it's the same as the first gen phantom 1 only it has a few phantom 2 elements like the self fastening props and NAZA V2 module) and honestly i would never have the guts to do motions like that, or at least not without something soft to land on, you could tell me for days on end about how responsive it is but my response would still be "nope, just nope"

      Sure hope your son is 18 + it says on the box i believe 17 or 18+. It is not a toy at all and should not be seen as a toy. Its an aircraft that can cause great harm. You buying this for a child would be bad parenting. Hope nothing bad happens. With all the negative media already out there all we need is more. Sorry for the negative post/reply on this comment block but people lime this shouldn't be flying one of these aircrafts.

    There is no doubt that P3 brings a lot of fun with a lot more features than ever. However I got a problem with a stupid function of Return Home. After cabliration I started to take off in an open and wide area, then directed P3 into a field with a lot of trees. The purpose of this was to practice to get familiar control of P3. Everything was perfect and under my control. Unfortunately when it reached to a critical low battery level, I am about to land it after there was an alarm with just 3 seconds, I dont have enough time to read what appeared on the screen, suddenly it goes up rapidly (I guess the Return Home function was initiated) then hit to branches of the trees. Crashed then.

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  9 лет назад

      Joseph Nguyen you can change all of that in the settings. Either you changed something or you have a bad battery (is it puffy?). By default it is set to RTH at 30% and Auto Land at 10% battery.

  • @VoicOfReason

    Yes the props are the same as the Phantom to vision plus, but not the Phantom too. I have a phantom two and the props are definitely different.

    • @DoubleD72
      @DoubleD72 9 лет назад

      He props are the same as the phantom 2 3.0 the phantom 2 with the upgraded motors and remote. I know this because i have one. They are 9450's which the phantom 3 also used 9450's however the difference is with the phantom 3 9450's they are completely plastic. Even inside the threads. The phantom 2 - 3.0 props are aluminum. It has been noted that the phantom 2 - 3.0 9450's will work on the phantom 3.

    • @VoicOfReason
      @VoicOfReason 9 лет назад

      Dennis Dunbar Yes, I agree with the V3.0, just not the plain Phantom 2.

    • @DoubleD72
      @DoubleD72 9 лет назад

      VoicOfReason i was told they where trying to make it lighter for longer flight time. I however think they were trying to pinch a penny to squeeze all this tech into $1259 lol

    • @christopherbaker8691
      @christopherbaker8691 9 лет назад

      VoicOfReason The props on the 3 are different, the insert where the thread is in plastic not metal, if you use the phantom 2 props they are likely to come undone in flight ,due to the motors in the phantom 3 can brake and slow down quickly.This means they will come undone, and your phantom will drop out of the sky !! so beware of using phantom 2 props with the metal inserts.

  • @MrRCUK
    @MrRCUK 9 лет назад

    Props are not the same! You can't use the p2 props because the p3 has active braking. The p3 props hubs are composite rather than metal. If you use p2 props on a p3 the will come off!

    I have Blade 350 QX3 that I just bought. Also my first drone. I guess it's night and day from the QX2. It's fine, but when I get beyond 200 feet or so the Wifi image on my iPhone 6 starts to lag. Is the image you are seeing also off of Wifi? If so, I would think the the range should be the same, as Wifi is Wifi. With regards to the camera, I am thinking I should have gotten the Phantom 3 Pro, as I heard they illuminated the fish eye lens problem. I shoot commercials for a living. I didn't want to start of with something crazy, as this is my first drone. BUT think I should have gotten the Phantom 3 Pro for better video quality. When I looked at your video, though, it would appear the 4K doesn't shoot in 30fps. That would not work for me in 4K then, as all my work needs to be in 30fps. I did here that Horizon's custom service is better though. Thoughts?

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  9 лет назад

      Future World Media The Phantom 3 works really well and has almost no fisheye. You could also look at the 3DR Solo with a goPro for 30fps.

    • @billydavison931
      @billydavison931 9 лет назад

      That could also be the phone. The processor may be overwhelmed with the screen capture. That happens on some computers. It's not a reflection on the P3.

    • @SkyPixles
      @SkyPixles 9 лет назад

      Agreed! I was just pointing out that coming across more "prepared" will go a long way!

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  9 лет назад +1

      Riaan Skypixels I had no option at the time because the iOS app hadn't been released yet, so I was as "prepared" as I possibly could be at the time, to the point of purchasing an android photo just so I could fly. As a member of the press, getting the story as early aspossible is more important than getting the quality perfect.

  • @MichaelGomezwestlightaerials
    @MichaelGomezwestlightaerials 9 лет назад +1

    Not "exactly" the same props. P3 props much more firmness. but are the same size. probably can use ok but not exactly the same.

    • @billydavison931
      @billydavison931 9 лет назад

      I'm using my P2 props on my P3 and so far there is no issue it flies exactly the same.

    • @calvincrane
      @calvincrane 9 лет назад

      Billy Davison I heard the props are different to take advantage of the uprated motors and esc - however props on old fixed wing propulsion systems were greatly experimental. I bought some on ebay from china for my p2 and it would barely fly, really incredible the difference it can make if they are like wack. Here we are I guess saying that the thrust will uniformly change and is for billy working out - the other way round might be a struggle for the motors ?

  • @Ericdamwhite

    How much flight time are you getting on a single battery?

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  9 лет назад

      Eric White 20 mins more or less

    • @Ericdamwhite
      @Ericdamwhite 9 лет назад

      At what battery % remaining are you getting 20 minutes if flight time.

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  9 лет назад

      Eric White Im usually coming in a 30% which is a little less than 20 mins, landing at 20%
      It all depends if Im flying hard and fast, or just hovering. If I'm not doing a lot of movement, I can get longer out of a battery.
      I have 4 batteries, so I don't take a lot of risks and drain them excessively. I don't want to be too hard on my batteries like was with my Phantom 2. I ruined a few where they got all puffy and failed. They are expensive, so I don't push them hard.

    Sorry guys, spend the extra money and get an Inspire 1............ You'll thank me later. So many improvements to the Inspire vs P3. I know it's a little more money, but you will really LOVE the Inspire 1 and you won't outgrow it.............. you'll grow into it. Start out slow and you will find the Inspire VERY easy to fly.

    • @photoshopcafe

    • @rant-n-rave7816
      @rant-n-rave7816 9 лет назад

      It is, but I can tell you it's worth every penny! After using both, I can tell you that you will love the P3 but will later wish you spent the extra for the Inspire. If you can't afford it, I totally get it and you will enjoy the P3. That is why they built it, to fit everyone's budget!

    • @billydavison931
      @billydavison931 9 лет назад +1

      In some aspects that may be true however I do a lot of indoor flying for indie films and the P2 and the P3 can really dominate a room, I'm not sure I'd want to fly the inspire inside. Lol. If all my use was outdoors then yes I might have spent the extra money. My thoughts are there is a little more versatility with a smaller body.

    • @rant-n-rave7816
      @rant-n-rave7816 9 лет назад

      Then you have found a good reason for the P3, indoor flights. I've flown the Inspire indoors but it was more a warehouse setting. In small room, P3 would be a good choice.

    • @FPVPortugalTV
      @FPVPortugalTV 9 лет назад

      photoshopCAFE The problem isnt the props breaking but unscrewing, the news ESCs technology inside the P3 allow the ESCs to break the motors to stop them faster and that might lead to a prop unscrew in flight.
