Great video. I have had my P3 advanced for about 2 years now.. blowing the dust off it for another run and decided I wanted a refresher course since I have shelved it for almost a year. I relearned everything I forgot plus learned a few things more. Very comprehensive video, thank you.

Just bought a second hand one - so still very useful, thank you (especially pushing the charger into the remote which takes that extra push!).
TechPique yes it’s getting a little old. The main difference is the controller updates.

excellent video. just go my phantom. couple of things you might think about adding for noobs (like myself). 1) get extra batteries. i think a lot of people might have a bit of a drive to get to a safe area to fly so best be equipped with at least 2 charged batteries or 3 for an hour flight time. 2) getting a tailor made suitcase style nap sack by dji that the drone comfortably sits in to be carried around safely and comfortably is a must. 3) propeller guards for the noob also seem to be a very good idea 4) shade cover for the tablet so you can actually see the screen on sunny days. i got all these things as "must purchase" items from a dji distributer in Vancouver bc.....thanks again for the vid's

Where you say to spin the machine around 360 degrees and then tilt it and spin again. Do you have to do this every time you start it up in a new locastion or just the one time?

Nice refresher for me. My health and eyes have kept me grounded for 2 years. This was helpful for bringing me up to speed again. I don't think I had more than 10 flightson my P3 Pro before my eyeballs went wacko, but are now back under my control.

does the video save to your iPad or memory card on the drone?
SayHiToMatthew It saves to the SD card in the camera. You can then transfer files to your IPad or remove your SD card.
Hi im able to control the drone with remote but my app says disconnected all the time it can not connect to the drone

I know this is an old thread but any help is welcome. I have a Phantom 3 Pro and it keeps saying I am disconnected. Connected the charge port to it and keeps saying "disconnected" and was using my old setting from DJI on my IPAD. Next tried my android and was going to download DJI Go and Chrome says it would corrupt my phone. Google play no longer has DJI Go, only just the store and some other Drone Fly Apps. DJI support says fo to DJI Go. Reviews now are terrible for DJI and wondering if I now have a piece of junk.

Unless I missed it, I don't recall you mentioning how one may manually performing a RTH command using the controller. You had covered GPS mode as well as Atti and IOC.
Can you include that important aspect of controlling the model on a subsequent tutorial, and or respond here.

Al Nuci I didn't have the model as yet, but have now noticed the (H) button next to the power button on the face of the controller which obviously activates the RTH. More convenient on this new controller over toggle switch method. I I simply hadn't noticed it when first watching your video. Please disregard my inquiry.

what about the white buttons on the bottom of the controller on either side? what do they do? also, is there a quick-kill switch? i've found if it falls over the blades continue trying to spin while you try to pick it up.

It is very cold where I am now. LIke below freezing by minus10 degrees celsius at ground level. Will that affect battery capacity/flight time very much? Will it harm other parts/ Is it even recommended to use it then? I have this drone.
