This is great for semi-aquatic frogs like northern leopard frogs but tree frogs like to be in less of an aquatic environment and really only use water for breeding. They much prefer a forested habitat with lots of ferns, pothos, ivy, and other vines and logs to climb on.
Tyler’s tree frogs do in fact like to go for a swim, so please do just a little bit of research before claiming that someone who obviously knows what they’re doing, doesn’t.
Nice job! Thank you for showing people that bringing in a little bit of Nature can be relaxing for us, and not hard on the animals (if done right). Again, thanks.
ME TOO, BUT I WANT A TANK THAT IS VERY TALL. I DONT KNOW IF I COULD SET UP A TANK LIKE THIS THOUGH, A LOT OF TIME AND PATIENCE WOULD GO INTO THIS. AT PRESENT I JUST HAVE MY TANK WITH A SOUP PLATE IN IT, PAPER TOWELS, 2 ROCKS FOR THE FROGS TO HIDE UNDER AND LOTS OF PAPER COVERED WITH COCKROACHES ON THE OTHER SIDE. I HOPE I CAN IMPROVE ON MY TECHNEQUE IN THE FUTURE.
I love the natural look and I'm sure your frogs feel the same way. The modified lights are very interesting and should have a video of their own. How did you modify the lid and what lights did you use.
This may be old, I don't know if you've edited the enclosure at all but you should add a filter to the water at least. That water if left to just be still for months and just refilled won't make it better. The waste will still gather.
@Champ Lehner just because they CAN exist in water doesnt mean they do. "A tree frog is any species of frog that spends a major portion of its lifespan in trees, known as an arboreal state." The preferred environment for a tree frog is something a lot more vertical with places to climb and hide, and ideally a mister to keep them damp because Yes, they are amphibians, they need water. just not that much. they're not marsh animals, they're arboreal. it would be a great enclosure for a different type of frog but doesn't really fit the needs of this one.
@@Poraxutation Hello! So I read that you change water about weekly, but how is this done? Do you have some sort of pump to carefully drain the tank with or how do you change the water? I also would like to hear you opinion on a project that I am thinking of, so I have been thinking of creating a tank to have outside, a bit bigger about length: 165cm height: 80cm width: 80cm Do you think it would work to have outside or do you see any differences/cons in that? I will in that case have it relatively sealed at the top to prevent any sort of predators, birds etc... to get near it. But are insects a danger to frogs in general? I will also keep it at a place mostly in shadow with about 30% sun during the day which is the morning-sun and in (Sweden/north) But perhaps it is best to keep it 100% in shadow? Perhaps it is a terrible idea if I have totally missed something important about it? Or perhaps it could work very well to have it outside? Ofc I wont be having it outside during cold/winter or late autumn/early spring. I would also like to hear if you have any thoughts to make a tank in plastic? Would there be something important to consider or does it work just as well as if it would have been a tank made out of glass? Thank you in advance!
I'm surprised I can't find another comment asking this already, but I'd love to know what the substrate is a mix of?? Is it just sand and rocks, it seems more like mud?
I am wanting to set up a tank for green tree frogs. I plan to use a canister filter to keep water clean. Any helpful tips or ideas for setting up the proper environment for them. I will be setting up a 55 gallon tank. Tad poles are already in the tank but growing fast
I'm working on setting up my frog tank this weekend, do I need to do I need a water filter if I do this set up, or how often should I change the water?
I want to create a nice habitat for my frogs but i don’t know how to fill it. Could you guys give me some plant recommendation? Like plants which need plenty of water and even plants which can grow in water. Oh and also what’s the name of those tiny leaves on water?
I ran into the same problem. Searching for videos only leads to green tree frog set ups instead of just "green" frogs. Something like this video would be good but what I REALLY recommend is looking up SerpaDesign and his bullfrog tank. It's not an exact match, but after having done research on the frogs themselves, his particular setup is almost perfect for them. You want land, plants, and plenty of water. Your lighting is almost entirely used for plants/aesthetic. Your plants can serve as the filter themselves, but I also recommend adding a SMALL filter or at least one where the flow is mitigated quite a bit (pond frogs prefer still water, though mine specifically like to hang out on top of and behind my filter lol). One thing not mentioned in this video is you need a barrier between your soil and your water. I use window-screen mesh. Also, learn from my mistake and put your soil higher in the tank than you think it should be as water sloshing around can still creep into the soil and cause mold build-ups. Last piece of advice is to build the tank completely, add isopods/springtails and then WAIT. If you add the frogs too soon there is a high chance they will undo a lot of the planting you worked hard on. Many people will suggest against pond snails as they can overpopulate, but I've personally never run into that problem and they are great aquatic cleaners. I'm still newish myself, so everything above might be exactly right, but my frogs have been in their home almost a year now and they seem to like it. Good luck!
Hello everyone :) I'm looking for someone who breeds frogs in Europe (preferably Germany or nearby) I'm looking for: - American treefrog, (Hyla cinerea) -European treefrog, (Hyla arborea) -Gray Tree Frog, (Hyla versicolor) I've had the perfekt terrarium for over a year now to let all the plants grow in and enjoy them a bit :D It's 1,2 meters long, has a waterfall, plenty of living plants, a steam machine and everything a frog needs to get happy Anyways enough talking I was hoping one of you would maybe know someone ;) If not its also okey thanks for reading and I hope you have a good day.
Proper lighting and good nutrients to the plants and you should be good bro. And every plant is different, some will die over time if there roots are always very damp, yet others love it, so just depends what your planting and where your planting it too.
@Chris Mccune if ur sure that the frogs near ur house are tree frogs, than it probably means that they are in the breeding season and they will stay there temporary
Man: makes beautiful and natural habitat with love and care, and places beloved frog inside.
Frog: sticks to the side of the glass
Dr Phil this needs to be top comment
Lmao such a ungrateful child XDDD
Don't get me wrong it looks amazimg, but they're not really suited for this type of setup
You’re right. They like to climb trees more than they like swimming.
Adrian Del Favero it is
I really appreciate how you try to make the most natural homes for your animals.
Can someone please tell me was that just dirt and rocks at the start idk how that works I need explaining
@@avalills9151 yea probably, how complex could it be? Just dirt n pebbles
Wow your tank looks so natural it looks like a REAL pond!
As beautiful as it is i can't imagine the absolute pain of cleanimg that hing
it would be hell 😂
It’s bioactive so there is no cleaning
The plants make it self-cleaning
Looks amazing
Could I have a list of plants please.

He knows what he’s doing look at his channel
@@jc-ch2yo he must not since he put an aboreal frog in a semi-aquatic habit
My Arizona canyon tree frogs like to climb and like to soak for hours on end. Maybe some are different.
@@smnewstead4093 I've always been interested in hyla arenicolor. Very identical to gray tree frogs.

Frog tank goals!
One of the best set up I’ve seen….. beautiful 😍

Beautiful and inspiring, thank you
Stunning setup, beautifully natural. Love that last frog very pretty.
A very natural looking environment for the frogs ... good to see!
Tree frogs? Wouldn't they need a vertical enclosure with more height? I do like how this turned out. Looks really nice.
MAGNIFICENTLY natural look!
The rushes and reeds really complete the look
WHEN YOU
WANT TO MAKE
YOUR FROG TERRARIUM
THIS IS THE VIDEO
TO WATCH !!!!!!! Awesome!
I love the finished look!!!!
lots of water and real plants equals great setup, nice job i would be proud of that plus your frog is so cute hes gunna love it in there
Frogs don’t need much water they only use it to cool off and breed. (Depending on the species of course.)
Frogs💖 bagas! 👏👍
You are the best.
A very natural tank. Great job!!!!!
i'm jealous I want a habitat like that.

This looks like a SerpaDesign tank! Great work!! :D
Love your tank and love the lil guy with green sides. What kind of frog? Keep up the great work!
These frogs are probably Henry exited and happy
Thank you
Great ideas l am making a tank now.
Final enclosure is awesome
This is beautiful ❤️😍
I'll be doing similar soon with a 75 gallon
Wow it looks beautiful.
Looks nice!

how in the hot crispy kentucky fried frick does that look so natural
Dude, looks Awesome!!!
Very helpful thankyou very good set up
wont there get a buildup of mold or fungus at the lowest parts of the soil? thats a lot of soil for just springtails or isopods
That looks so good how do you keep the water clean with no filter
That’s what I was thinking.
This was awesome to watch. Hope to see more videos :) last frog was wicked !

Bearrick water changes will do fine. A filter really isn't that necessary.
Why are you putting tree frogs in an amphibious environment...
because Frogs are amphibians?
@@TheLpslover533 they are a different kind of species of frogs , they dont swim and little to no space to go around = TREE Frogs

What is in this substrate mix? Where did you find the sand?
A+
Mad video 👍🏻
Awesome Paludarium, I'm planing doing the same with my 55 gall, wish me luck 😁
I’ve noticed a lot of the rocks are small. Do you worry about impaction?
🙏🏼
What is the species of that large grass-like aquatic plant?
U need a filter for the water or no?
Not particularly because all the plants filter the water
I did this kind of setup. However i had to make sure the water section wouldn't be too deep for newly transformed frogs.
amazing
Then dogs!😂
So COOL 😎
Damn I bet your hands were smooth as fuck after this.
-me: Wow, thats a very inspiring video.
*my mother: Get a girlfriend!
nice vid bro i really like frogs they are nice 🐸
hey can you list everything you used? ❤
How often do you have to do water changes?
I do weekly water changes on most of my tanks, fortnightly on some... There are a couple in perfect sync that need no water changes as well!
@Tömåtö Pågån the plants play a part in filtering the water.

thats going to be so annoying to clean tho
get some green frogs! ( the regular green pond frogs you see commonly in the us )
exotic pet laws are very strict here in Australia. We can only have native species i think
what's the noises coming from the background?
Birds and crickets
I think that is a tree frog so it doesn't live in the water

@Chris Mccune this sounds funny actually. Frogs breed whenever they want. Boss frogs😂. They may not be tree frogs or maybe i am just wrong then
Is that just normal dirt from out side
DarkOGfortnitekk Fortnite pro I wouldn’t be normal dirt from right outside his house
He probably got it from a pond or the pet store. The dirt from your backyard could be harmfull
How do you keep water from going stagnant?
water change
you can have a small water fall, it can do some great work. both for the looks and the effectiveness
Did u put in a filter or is it suppose to be like that
