This is great for semi-aquatic frogs like northern leopard frogs but tree frogs like to be in less of an aquatic environment and really only use water for breeding. They much prefer a forested habitat with lots of ferns, pothos, ivy, and other vines and logs to climb on.
Tyler’s tree frogs do in fact like to go for a swim, so please do just a little bit of research before claiming that someone who obviously knows what they’re doing, doesn’t.
Nice job! Thank you for showing people that bringing in a little bit of Nature can be relaxing for us, and not hard on the animals (if done right). Again, thanks.
ME TOO, BUT I WANT A TANK THAT IS VERY TALL. I DONT KNOW IF I COULD SET UP A TANK LIKE THIS THOUGH, A LOT OF TIME AND PATIENCE WOULD GO INTO THIS. AT PRESENT I JUST HAVE MY TANK WITH A SOUP PLATE IN IT, PAPER TOWELS, 2 ROCKS FOR THE FROGS TO HIDE UNDER AND LOTS OF PAPER COVERED WITH COCKROACHES ON THE OTHER SIDE. I HOPE I CAN IMPROVE ON MY TECHNEQUE IN THE FUTURE.
I love the natural look and I'm sure your frogs feel the same way. The modified lights are very interesting and should have a video of their own. How did you modify the lid and what lights did you use.
I am wanting to set up a tank for green tree frogs. I plan to use a canister filter to keep water clean. Any helpful tips or ideas for setting up the proper environment for them. I will be setting up a 55 gallon tank. Tad poles are already in the tank but growing fast
This may be old, I don't know if you've edited the enclosure at all but you should add a filter to the water at least. That water if left to just be still for months and just refilled won't make it better. The waste will still gather.
I'm working on setting up my frog tank this weekend, do I need to do I need a water filter if I do this set up, or how often should I change the water?
I'm surprised I can't find another comment asking this already, but I'd love to know what the substrate is a mix of?? Is it just sand and rocks, it seems more like mud?
I want to create a nice habitat for my frogs but i don’t know how to fill it. Could you guys give me some plant recommendation? Like plants which need plenty of water and even plants which can grow in water. Oh and also what’s the name of those tiny leaves on water?
@@Poraxutation Hello! So I read that you change water about weekly, but how is this done? Do you have some sort of pump to carefully drain the tank with or how do you change the water? I also would like to hear you opinion on a project that I am thinking of, so I have been thinking of creating a tank to have outside, a bit bigger about length: 165cm height: 80cm width: 80cm Do you think it would work to have outside or do you see any differences/cons in that? I will in that case have it relatively sealed at the top to prevent any sort of predators, birds etc... to get near it. But are insects a danger to frogs in general? I will also keep it at a place mostly in shadow with about 30% sun during the day which is the morning-sun and in (Sweden/north) But perhaps it is best to keep it 100% in shadow? Perhaps it is a terrible idea if I have totally missed something important about it? Or perhaps it could work very well to have it outside? Ofc I wont be having it outside during cold/winter or late autumn/early spring. I would also like to hear if you have any thoughts to make a tank in plastic? Would there be something important to consider or does it work just as well as if it would have been a tank made out of glass? Thank you in advance!
@Champ Lehner just because they CAN exist in water doesnt mean they do. "A tree frog is any species of frog that spends a major portion of its lifespan in trees, known as an arboreal state." The preferred environment for a tree frog is something a lot more vertical with places to climb and hide, and ideally a mister to keep them damp because Yes, they are amphibians, they need water. just not that much. they're not marsh animals, they're arboreal. it would be a great enclosure for a different type of frog but doesn't really fit the needs of this one.
Proper lighting and good nutrients to the plants and you should be good bro. And every plant is different, some will die over time if there roots are always very damp, yet others love it, so just depends what your planting and where your planting it too.
This is the same kind of set up that I used to do for my animals that I caught when I was like eight years old. This is actually really really bad. It’s going to stink and get nasty really quickly. Good luck cleaning it. You should really look into doing a false bottom
Opus Opus there’s still a difference between terrestrial and aquatic frogs. Tree frogs cannot swim for long periods and prefer shallow shoulder height water. Also whites don’t require a high humidity and a water feature would cause a high humidity
Man: makes beautiful and natural habitat with love and care, and places beloved frog inside.
Frog: sticks to the side of the glass
Dr Phil this needs to be top comment
Lmao such a ungrateful child XDDD
Don't get me wrong it looks amazimg, but they're not really suited for this type of setup
You’re right. They like to climb trees more than they like swimming.
Adrian Del Favero it is
I really appreciate how you try to make the most natural homes for your animals.
Can someone please tell me was that just dirt and rocks at the start idk how that works I need explaining
@@avalills9151 yea probably, how complex could it be? Just dirt n pebbles

As beautiful as it is i can't imagine the absolute pain of cleanimg that hing
it would be hell 😂
It’s bioactive so there is no cleaning
The plants make it self-cleaning

Could I have a list of plants please.

A very natural looking environment for the frogs ... good to see!
Stunning setup, beautifully natural. Love that last frog very pretty.
Tree frogs? Wouldn't they need a vertical enclosure with more height? I do like how this turned out. Looks really nice.
MAGNIFICENTLY natural look!
I love the finished look!!!!
That is probably the best natural frog enclosure ever

The rushes and reeds really complete the look
Good video and good aquascape. Easy to follow and still beautiful
lots of water and real plants equals great setup, nice job i would be proud of that plus your frog is so cute hes gunna love it in there
Frogs don’t need much water they only use it to cool off and breed. (Depending on the species of course.)
The frogs are so cute😍😍😍😁😁😁
You are the best.
Frogs💖 bagas! 👏👍
I have a resue frog and this helps me a lot on planning him an upgrade! Thank you❤️🐸

how in the hot crispy kentucky fried frick does that look so natural
wont there get a buildup of mold or fungus at the lowest parts of the soil? thats a lot of soil for just springtails or isopods

That looks so good how do you keep the water clean with no filter
That’s what I was thinking.
nice vid bro i really like frogs they are nice 🐸
I’ve noticed a lot of the rocks are small. Do you worry about impaction?
I'll be doing similar soon with a 75 gallon
What is in this substrate mix? Where did you find the sand?
amazing

Hi guys! Can some of you guys tell me what to put in my tadpoles tank? To make a healthy habitat!
So COOL 😎
Definitely watching your vids for some pointers. Do you think frogs are easier to care for than a reg fish tank?
great setup, what breed of tree frog is it?
What is the species of that large grass-like aquatic plant?

Advice on where to get substrate and plants for a leopard frog vivarium

Bearrick water changes will do fine. A filter really isn't that necessary.
I did this kind of setup. However i had to make sure the water section wouldn't be too deep for newly transformed frogs.
hey i love your content, are you still going to put out more vids any time soon?
I'm working on setting up my frog tank this weekend, do I need to do I need a water filter if I do this set up, or how often should I change the water?
NICE
What kind of grasses are you using? What species?
Damn I bet your hands were smooth as fuck after this.
What kind of water did you put into the tank. Was the water dechlorinated?
U need a filter for the water or no?
Not particularly because all the plants filter the water

hey can you list everything you used? ❤
What type of water do you put for the frogs?

how do you clean the tank?
How often do you have to do water changes?
I do weekly water changes on most of my tanks, fortnightly on some... There are a couple in perfect sync that need no water changes as well!

put more sticks for them to climb there tree frogs
what's the noises coming from the background?
Birds and crickets

water change

how to cleaning tank ??
Is that just normal dirt from out side
