The push is always hard when you have a concept in mind, the ideas we have in our heads are not easy to catch in reality, which makes it an enjoyable constant search? Even if we get one good shot from it all it's worth every aches and pains we put into it. The photo you have 8:52 the black and white image is very special. As is your humble works always. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you VERY much for this video, because it's quite difficult to find video test with the Q3 filming. Lots of (photo) tests say this camera is not good for video, but your film is encouraging and makes me feel I have to try it !
Hey Teemu, Been enjoying all your content … I find them very helpful… thank you for that … how do you clean your camera / lens / equipment after a session out in the rain I want to carry my camera everywhere but Iam too worried about how to clean the dust, moisture , etc If you could suggest a few tips or make a cleaning post would be very helpful Thank you
Interesting cinematic video of Japan. Maybe a cinematic winter shoot would be magic as well from this country. Fukui for winter could be a place. Specially when snow is very high :) Inspired work anyway !
What a sleepy town haha. Earlier this year we drove to Rumoi hoping for conditions but bailed on it after staying there for 1 hr haha it was even more dead than kushiro.. i'll be back in Japan soon if you're around!
Love watching your Japan footage and photos. I'm visiting for 2 weeks next year and I can not wait. Also, I'm getting my first camera in soon, its a sony a6600. It's just for vacations as i'm not a photographer but I still hope to get some decent night photos in Tokyo. Planning on using a sony 11mm f1.8 and a 16-70mm f2.8.
Hopping for a better auto focus in a Q4 and hopefully with a reporter edition 😊 I confess that I am attracted by the Q3 concept but for such money, I have some concerns. Maybe some users can help me clarifying my thoughts: 1 - I was expecting better performance from the OIS/Ibis on your handheld footage videos. I push my concern to photography, is it usable at 1/8 or 1/30 lowlight performance? 2 - I’m also a bit disappointed with 1/2000 max for mechanical shutter when my xpro3 does 1/8000. With such a bright f/1.7 lens, I imagine if someone wants to shoot wide open in bright day it goes easily above 1/2000 and we get the rolling shutter effect from the electronic shutter. I see no point of closing the lens to f/8 otherwise we lose the selling point of this lens, the same to carry ND filters around, it’s an option but nevertheless 1/2000 does not seem to me a max shutter speed for a top level camera. The same for the auto-focus but here I can put some discount as a price to pay to support the innovation, it’s better than the Q2 from the reviews, maybe can be minimized in future firmware updates (hope), it will be better for sure in the Q4.
Have you tried shooting Leica Q (primarily, or at least whenever the scene would work better) with manual focus? I have the first-gen Q and it’s such an easy and smooth experience to use manual focus with that camera. Took me also a while to come to grasp with its quirks, but now that I use manual aperture, manual shutter speed, with auto-iso which basically gets controlled via the exposure comp wheel, it’s even easier to shoot manual focus compared to e.g. aperture priority.
Very interesting. I was wondering if you plan on trying A7CR? It's technically an alternative to Q3 but with 10 times better auto focus? since that's the main problem with Q3.
Nice video Teemu! If you think the auto focus on the Q3 is not good enough, you can't imagine how bad it's in my current Leica( a X1). I just will say that I focus manually each time I want to shoot!
Really inspirational content! What are your thoughts on producing a similar look, but using the FX3 (same sensor as A7SIII) with the 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II. I know you're adamant on the 24mm + 50mm fast primes for night shooting, but I figured the high dual-base ISO of 12800 should make up for light loss at f/2.8 (at the cost of more noise and less bokeh).
You can probably get away with it if in a city like tokyo where there's a lot of light. But I have some slower lenses, whenever I use them I still occasionally wish I had that little extra light available, even at 12k iso. But other times, it's funny having to stop down at night, sometimes I'm shooting the primes at like f4. So in conclusion, it'll probably be fine lol
Hey Teemus! Been loving your content so far, trying to get into photography but I have a question. I've seen on your Instagram you don't use any white bars for your posts yet you get a full height post, do you just crop the picture until it fits into Instagram's requirements? I have the same question for landscape pictures, how do you maintain the 1.91:1 (1080x608) resolution without losing quality? Thanks for posting the amazing content and keep it up!
Basically for ig I just crop, I've never had an issue with losing quality for photos, but its the same as for videos, the less compression ig has to apply, the better the quality should be, so therefore export lower resolutions before posting.
Hi! Love your content as always! I do own a Q3 myself and just wondering how far did you push the iso on l-log shooting? Also how do you usually expose when using L-log? Thank you in advance!
There's usually so much light on rainy nights (from reflections) that I don't need to push iso too much. 6400 is a bit much imo, preferably keeping it lower than that. And for exposure I use a LUT to monitor and just judge by eye.
Would you be able to comment more on your experience with the video portion of the show with the Q3? I feel like most people who have bought the camera are photographers first but the Video is the primary difference to me between the Q2 and Q3. Do you pretty much stick to Manual Focus at this point? Is that experience for video still pretty good with the dampened focus throw? Do you ever use the 35 or 50 crop modes when in video to good results?
Sure, single autofocus is fine on video if used before you start recording, because then it never shifts focus unless forced. Afc hunts horribly, so if I want a focus shift or its a challenging situation for the camera, manual focus is the only option. I've tried the crop modes, usually I'd rather shoot 8k and just crop in post tho. Because I think it's pretty noticeable when too much crop mode was used.
Dang, that's a little disappointing to hear that the AFC hunts horribly. It feels like the only reason to have Phase Detect is to let it run reliable AFC. Post - crop makes sense. I bet it feels a little odd to compose that way though. The crop modes in the Q2 for photo felt decent, but weren't quite high enough resolution to make it worth it. I was hoping the Q3 could handle it with the 60mp & 8K. @@teemu.mp4
The vibes are majestic! Really appreciate your work. 💜
Your videos are definitely one of the reasons I want to visit Japan... thanks again for taking us along... 🙏🏻

I love this video the atomsphere you can create with just a simple photo is amazing keep up the good work and keep them coming :)
Appreciate it!
Love the q3 video. I have q2 but after watching your video, I simply fell in love with q3 . I love doing more videos than photos.
8:57 i love this picture's vibe
I can feel the vibe from your videos , man its piece of work to be honest >>>
thanks so much!
Thanks for another beautiful and interesting video! Oh LUT previews sounds amazing! Really wish more cameras had this.

Awesome moods and shots as always, keep it up👏🏼👏🏼
Love the mood in this video! Super cool and insightful content 👌🔥

Actually I did a similar video this January if you want to see a winter shoot!

DM me when you're coming bro, hopefully we can link up! Although it depends when, next few months I'll be moving around a lot.

Basically if specs and performance like this concern you, you'll probably regret getting a leica.
What were you using to record the sound for these videos?

Epic night shoot!
Great video, did the Leica stop recording after 29 minutes? Just wondering, cheers!
Very interesting. I was wondering if you plan on trying A7CR? It's technically an alternative to Q3 but with 10 times better auto focus? since that's the main problem with Q3.
I'm thinking to go back to x100v as the casual camera, and just get an fx3 for luts which I'll use most of the time.
Nice video Teemu!

lol I believe you!
How's video stabilization on the Leica q3?
hey nice video as always, whats the music playing on 1:30? Did you get it from a copyright free site or do you do the sound design yourself?
I use soundstripe for music, can't remember what its called
Her majesty by moments if you refer to the one that starts at around 2:00
Just beautiful video!❤
Thank you very much
amazing, as always
Thanks very much
I could watch your videos all day, my only criticism is they are not frequent enough 😂
haha cheers, more to come!

Liked the Porsche
Footage seems to render better than even the Leica SL2-S. Or it could just be that sweet Sumilux lens.
