I went back to Tokyo for the spring / sakura season, bringing my favorite camera combo; the Fujifilm x100v and the Sony a1 / a7siii.
Big thanks to Dan for helping me film some b-roll, check out his work at

I live in Japan.
All of the landscapes are familiar and familiar to me, but when I see them through your lens, they are so beautiful.
Thank you so much for coming to Japan.
Thanks so much
honestly a minimal setup is just perfect
I am blown away by everything in this video, from the intense photography, to the pleasant aesthetics that is Japan, to marvelling at the sheer performance of this tiny camera (relatively speaking). The colour grading of the entire video, B-rolls and framing are what I inspire to achieve one day.
Thank you so much!
This is honestly one of the best videos I have watched - amazing pace of the video, amazing photography and colour, and sound engineering. Loved it.
Thank you so much!
Japan is beautiful, and you captured it beautifully! The editing and mood of this video was superb.
i never feeled so peaceful in any video, great job and great photos. This is so relaxing to watch
Beautifully shot and edited. Love your photography work covering Tokyo. ✨
I loved this video, a genuine and understated approach to street photography, and interesting to follow your photography journey. You've really nailed your style, I also love to shoot at night and in the rain so it's great to see your approach and work. Some beautiful images and inspiring to see others who are so committed to creating something beyond the mainstream. I feel that street photography is often reduced to the lowest common denominator, so videos of this quality are so welcome. I have recently switched to the Fuji X-T5 and primes, which is lightweight and unobtrusive (no heavy bags!), not full frame but incredible resolution and works extremely well when shooting with ambient light.
Hi Kevin thank you very much for the comment, I really appreciate it!
At times I wanna try the xt5 too but then I remember I already have too many cameras.
Oh i miss Tokyo so much when seeing this :D
This is an important video for yourself and your on-lookers, it shows how far you have come with composition, feel an emotions and away from text book styles of photography. A good comment about the X100V being over-rated and a good transition of your best works, albeit I think you have some nice works in Dubai and nights streets works in Asia; the rain and bus shelters on other videos. @1:03 @1:34 @3:02 @5:03 show you peeling away from the norm and doing what you enjoy over what other channels might think it's all about gear.
Thank you, really appreciate this type of comment.
I guess if I only had a single day and had to produce something, a rainy night in tokyo is hard to beat. I'm currently back in Dubai and it's ten times harder to stumble upon good shots here, although it can definitely be done!
those photos and videos are amazing. I love to start photography but I just cant seem to start. But after watching this video, I really wanna try it again. Thanks for the inspiration
this video is really inspiring! i was lucky enough to catch the rain in tokyo at the same time, its such a good feeling when everything inspires you. Tokyo, especially in the rain gets me in the flow everytime.
Rainy tokyo is best tokyo.
Thanks to @zerotwelve for filming some b-roll of me! instagram.com/zerotwelve/
Such a great video and so relaxing to watch. Love your work!
Teemu I really like how you transition from instagram to youtube, it really inspires me.
Glad I found this channel. One of the best videos I've seen thus far. Everything blends well. Thank you for this content. And for that I subscribed!
Thanks very much!
love your style. moody, cold, misty... beautiful!
Loved this video. Makes me wanna book a flight back to Japan immediately!
I’m so happy to have found your channel, exceptional work, really enjoy it, well done and thank you!
Thank you very much!
Stunning work. I’ve been traveling between Japan and South Korea for the past 3 weeks and my back is destroyed. Camera, lens, gimbal…gosh man weights a ton
I know dat feel but it's all worth it
This is my favorite video of yours ever! The whole of it is just 👌🤌
Thanks very much
dear @teemus photo,
idk wht to say.your works are amazing!!
Tyvm
I really like the candor of outlining what the video is, rare thing these days around these parts. Beautiful work!
Thanks very much!
Oh my, this video made me come all over my keyboard! You deserve an Oscar!
this has become my favorite style videos
BGM matches the video so well
I'm going to watch a good video
Thank you for taking a picture of Seoul, thank you!
dude i love these type of vids on japan, not gonna lie, and that comment on that location in photography is too true
This is off the chain - AMAZING.
Thanks so much!
Gorgeous video and beautiful photos! Love the way you look at the world around you ☺️
The end result looks like a live action Makoto Shinkai film. Damn!
Loved watching this, Tokyo being such a walkable/commutable city I believe lends itself to be able to easier capture in both photography and videography. Even something that appears to be fairly ordinary comes to life with some rain and neon lights. Living in a heavily residential suburb makes it challenging to capture something "interesting", I'm interested to hear your thoughts on finding inspiration and creativity amongst the dull and mundane.
Getting chills while watching this
why is it so beautiful! Love your vid
the color grading of this video is superb.
I just watched this video and now I'm your subscriber 😂 you r content is stunning and I'm already in love with x100v😇
Amazing video and photos. Dan wins the award for best photo though!
I agree.
Can't beat it
Beautiful colours thank you for sharing Teemus!
Love it! I also like your narration.
beautiful work! Love seeing a video with LOLTS of video/photo footages coming from the camera titled. Better than just people talking about it. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Cheers I'm glad you liked it
Amazing captures here mate. Also, 2814 is a great recommendation! Cheers!
Beautifully shot both video and pictures, it was so relaxing to watch. Thank you and keep up the good work Sir :)
I can't express how amazing this video is, i'm a huge fan of your work on instagram
Thanks so much!
Loved it! amazing shots & great cinematics... miss being in japan!
Cheers thanks !
One of your best videos, I feel.
Mainly because I dig your aesthetic and my X100v is also part of my daily carry. Plus I too take a landscape and a portrait shot too…
Thanks Oliver, much appreciated!
Its just beatiful ❤ thank you for this
I also use x100f❤ I am very happy to see your video, your video has given me more motivation to plan to go to Tokyo in the second half of the year😝😝
Your work is very inspiring. I love your photography and video. Thanks for sharing.
beautiful! makes me want to go back to Japan💮✨
Loved it! But it reminds me of the time when i was in Japan, I am gonna cry
This is an amazing video. @10:10 this scene gives a "Blade Runner" vibe. The original with Harrison Ford.
So cool and so peaceful video that i couldnt take my eyes off this, and yeah with alot of incredible shots, i loved that train scene at 9:14 where focus was shifting alternatively on outside view and then on train window showing reflection of inside wooh
Thank you very much!
Beautiful shots! The Cherry Blossoms look amazing🥲
New fan of the channel, but all this was super awesome. Thanks for throwing this together!
Hey thanks very much!
Something that has me so conflicted about this camera is that it's pretty much everything I want in a point-and-shoot camera, but lacks 2 things that would make it probably as perfect as it could get...1. A fully articulating screen and 2) In-Body Image Stabilization. The Fuji100VI has the latter and that's why I'm waiting for those to be back in stock so I can pick one of those up, but I'm hoping they implement a fully articulating screen in the future.
Edit: For the record, the reason I want IBIS is because I shoot mainly street photography with a little bit of video for social media.
dude. the grading in this. Delectable. Did you use a LUT and tweak it or was it entirely a custom grade?
All custom. Also I never heard the word delectable before 😂
@@teemu.mp4 it means delightful, delicious, beautiful. ❤️ amazing grade my friend
Absolutely awesome video.
Outstanding images and video. Your production in getting really good. Thanks for the hard work. Cheers!
Appreciate it, thanks
I utterly love the colour grading @10:40
I'm watching this literally while sitting in our hotel room in Ginza :-D Sadly my 135mm lens decided to quit on me upon arriving here, but I try to get the best out of my 20-35 2.8 and 85 1.2 :-)
Sucks about the 135mm, hope you manage without it!
@@teemu.mp4 I'll do my best :-) I'm looking forward to see the results of my 20-35 2.8 as it's one of the "oldtimers" of my lenses, being roughly 30 years old :-D So far I think it punches above it's used price tag :-)
If you haven't been to Japan, these stills and videos are exactly what Japan looks like.
Nicely done.
Everybody : Ah sh*t it's going to rain, might have to do some indoor stuff :(
Teemus : Hold my roll of film *runs out to shoot* :-)
I've got the X100V since it launched, and i have to agree with you. The video is the most underrated part of it, with combination of Fuji's film styles or custom film style you can get readily graded footage that looks pretty high quality out of such a tiny package. Try the slow-motion video. It's super impressive.
Thank you! Slowmo not being 4k has made me avoid it so far because I do have other cameras that can do it better if I actually need it, but tbh I forgot it was even a feature.
but the non stabilization really sucks 💔
Lovely Images! I'm planning a trip to Japan later this year and love to shoot images and your video is very motivating!
Nice soundtrack recommendation for wandering in Tokyo. I imagine the whole album: Birth of a new day to be the best
Yeah its the best
I Love the colour of the Fuji X100V
your pics awesome... love it
This is very well done. You're a great storyteller ~ Adam
i really enjoyed watching the video, thanks.
good stuff bro, nice video to watch while editing.
Wow… love your aesthetic, music video stills and a story …. Feel like I was there :-)
Appreciate it!
As they say; the best camera is the one you bring along
Beautiful shots! Which hotel did you stay at, if you don’t mind me asking? It has an amazing view as well ☺️
Good video Man💪🏻I wanna ask you about mist effect ,you used mist filter ,or all is it a color grading?😮
Dayum those photos are so nice
Appreciate it
Great video. Thank you. I’m toying with idea to switch from Panasonic to Fuji
Damn! Some great shots.
❤ i love this video and your work.
Beautiful video! I Love the vibe and the photographs!
Superb! Did you went there in the last weeks of March?
Absolutely stunning visuals! Beautifully done!
That was amazing images and storytelling!!!
These shots are so beautiful!
Thank you!
Hello,
Really nice job, agree that with photography there is the factor luck. This is why you need to always have your camera with you to not miss that particular time !
Btw I was wondering why using both A1 and A7SIII, they are quite similar ?
12mp stills on a7s3. Now i switched to fx3 and a1 and its nice to have the viewfinder sometimes. And 8k. And just in general 2 bodies.
@@teemu.mp4 Thank for the answer, I am not at the professional level, so I find it interesting to understand why you would carry so much stuff with you :)
All I can say is wow. I know how much work goes into these videos. I was curious with all the photos and videos and music and sound design. What is your typical turn around for how long a video like this takes to make for you?
Thanks. It's hard to say how long, I'm not very organized. I select and grade the clips first and make ig reels, then later it's less work to put them together into a long video, I just do an hour or two per night until it's ready.
always a pleasure to see your work
Thank you
Great video. Would love to see more shots with the pocket on a pole, and also if there were captions showing what camera was used for each video shot, it would be super informative! I live in Nagoya, but I was actually around Meguro river during spring blossom at the middle/end of March! Unfortunately I was there on days with no rain...which also meant there were a ton of people around. Cheers!
I live in Tokyo. After watching your videos, I discovered that the scenery of Tokyo that I usually see looks different.
your video is very beautiful.
I also recently started making videos.
I want to be able to make videos like yours.
Everything about the video and photo seems perfect! One of the best videos I have seen so far on Japan! May i know which camera was used for the video footages? I presume its Fuji X100V? Thanks bro! Keep it up!
70% sony 25% fuji, usually stated when I used x100v for the videos
The music really gives the video a lovely vibe... What is it? Royalty free stuff or an actual track?
Such a nice video, keep the good work! :D
okay taht's it, imma have a look at Fuji. Will probaby go with XE4 + 23 mm 2.0 though instead of going forr the X100V
this is the aesthetic bro
Amazing job, was a amazing every single fps
Ty very much
This is my dream camera that I’ll never have 👁️👄👁️
LOVE your videos😊
I'll have to say these sony cameras are mindblowing, not nearly as impressed by the fujifilm but it has it's own thing going on
Love your photos
from Tokyo
Thanks! Appreciate it
atmosphere is so awesome...what are your settings on your sony camera? cinetone?
my wishlist camera dream 😭
The coloring on the image at 6:17 is absolutely perfect! Is that with a sim from camera or did you grade that? If you graded it, I'd love to know how! Incredible work man
5:53 photo of the cab is so nice
