Salmon River Fishing Report - Mid October

It's been a busy few weeks on the river and the salmon continue to trickling in - we are overdue for a run of fish but only mother nature knows. With the shift in weather over the last couple days, we could see that change (conditions do and can do so quickly). The good news is that we are starting to see some steelhead show up.

Fished some small tribs west of salmon r and oswego and absolutely SMOKED some enormous browns. In fact I bet I hooked over 70 fish today. All 8# plus fish. Big big males and females. Both very fresh. The rain being cold and just hard enough combined with a southern wind (blowing out of the north) brought in a pile of fish

My feeling is, This salmon will be trickling in For another few weeks. With the steelhead mixed in. However, Typical for this time of the year. You will need to sort through Some of the old salmon define The decent looking salmon.
