Absolutely cracking footage, gents - well done! I've seen a lot of fish behaviour underwater - and it's not uncommon for female pike to pair up and stay together for prolonged periods (months/years) on 'their' territory - which is why it's always worth another cast when you're resting a big fish. Her sister is often close by. Another really great video - so interesting to see them so cautious and interested in the camera (they can pick up the electrical pulses which is why they come for a look) - really appreciate you guys for making and sharing this stuff! Great content guaranteed every time - thanks!
Mooie beelden. Alleen een vast lood systeem werkt niet met doodazen. Altijd een vrij loop systeem gebruiken zonder weerstand. Een vis of stuk vis met een pop up gewoon een paar loodjes eronder voelen ze niks van.
On still waters I've started using inserted balsa sticks to critically balance it and NO weight at all !! ... I use a baitboat to "cast" and I fill the boat hopper with chopped free offerings to increase scent... 😎👍☘️🍺
Awesome footage! Where I live pike are considered invasive predators, some areas actually had bounties on them, 5-10$ a head. There is no limit on them and actually illegal to release them alive back into the water. For quite a few years we would catch many pike on dead bait under a large weighted bobber. We would suspend the fish 1/3 off the bottom in a horizontal presentation. Worked very well, we would let them swim around for a few minutes allowing to get a good hookset. Very tasty fish smoked, grilled and pickled!
Just caught a monster today while dead baiting, I usually use lures but it was storming so I was going back & forth under cover and I thought might as well throw this perch out and on my bait check retreat BAM nice fight.
All pike rigs should be free running but ur fishing a carp rig on a lead clip with a single carp hook.. That has not helped at all. Try a single trebble on a small bait free running.
I tried Balsa sticks following your commentary. It works great but after half an hour the wood takes water. Do you use a waterproof kind of stick or something special ? Thx
try a sliding weight because it will still sink a bobber when a pike is taking it and it lets the pike move the fish around easier while it tries to readjust the fish to it can eat it right
Can the Polish anglers please put oor pike back. We don't eat them. Catch n release. I mean the bait you use is surely tastier than a pike. Cheers 🏴🇬🇧🤝
In America fish are very competitive so im surprised you dont catch with deadbait. I found that using a small bobber and small bait works best in difficult to fish waters.
It is winter so the mating season is close depending on where you live this can happen earlier or later in the Spring. The smaller ones are males who wait for the moment when the bigger females lay thier eggs. This will happen in a little tail whip where the female scatters the eggs in some underwater plants. Also it is forbidden at least in Germany to fish for pike in the Winter, because they are breeding.
Wine bottle cork, dependable on the size of the bait. Big bait-big cork or more than one cork, smaller bait you cut the cork to fit. You test it in the water to see if it floats before casting it. I don't fish for pike nor did I used this method ever but it is a logical and simple solution. Try to be innovative don't just rely in what others do, it feels 10 times better when you solve the problem yourself.
This is only effective on still water not ever still water has pike in try this technique on a flowing deep river I guarantee you wont catch a thing I've tried and tested this for many years on rivers with little gain so to say this is the best way to catch is weong.

Vrij loop systeem gaan we binnekort zeker meer mee doen!

Where do you live?
considering pike invasive is crazy
Beautiful shots👍
It would have been interesting to see if a bait of fish on the bottom would still have been lying at the spot the next day
Good question, I have not checked it this time...
Smart fish will not fall into the trap 😄
Adembenemende beelden, dat hebben jullie super goed gemaakt, thanks
Bedankt!
Great and informative video. Really enjoyed watching. Thx

Nice sharing the video 🎉❤😊
Thanks
Great video what are you using to keep the bait up?
I'm wondering the same thing.
It’s attached to the line and a hook with a weight on the bottom
Thanks..Fascinating!
This is so valuable actually
what a video....well done guys....I am speechless.....just small question.....WHAT THE HELL did you put inside that fish so it can float?? :D:D:D:D:D
If the first bait had been horizontal the pike would have takenn it 🎣
We made so much mistakes, but we keep learning 💪
@@Underfishing I have had 2kg pikes take Savage Gear 4D Line Thru Pike 48cm 820g !!!!
So no bait is to big for pike 😁
@@Freedeeism There is a big difference between a reaction strike on a lure, and picking up a bait.
@@simonspencer397 I know that. Ive been fishing pike for 25 years. But that little roach or whatwvwr it was is just a little snack for that pike
@@Freedeeismpikes can eat thing up to 60-65% thier lenght. Catfish just up to 18-25%.
What did you use top get the bait to float?
Try balsa wood👊
How were you able to make the dead bait float.
Bonsa sticks
Balsa wood
They like live perch the best!.
Hele mooie beelden! Wat hebben jullie gebruikt om het doodaas te laten drijven?
Je kunt het beste balsa sticks gebruiken
Dank je wel voor jullie reactie! Hoop snel weer mooie beelden van jullie te mogen zien.
Nice 😊

Thnx!
Put it on a running rig?????
Why not? You only need a fishing rod with a slightly sensitive tip so that you notice when you have a bite before the pike does.
Great images !
Gonna help me for sure.
What did you use to make your bait float ?
Thnx, bonsa sticks

Nice work!
Get the dead bait to float side on in a natural position rather than upright.
Would of had a bite a lot sooner
Great footage. What camera do you use to film underwater?
We use this setup: www.carpcam.eu
@@Underfishing Thank you, I appreciate it.
Works great through the ice I scale one side in the ice hole then drop.
Thats great! How do you manage to get your dead bait float? also do you add a a bobber?
How did you get the piece of fish floating?
You can use balsa wood👍

MY DAD CAUGHT PIKE WITH DEAD BAIT 60 YEARS AGO!!!
Awesome!
Want a medal?
@@simonspencer397 sure do simple Simon LMAO 🤣
HEARD THAT IT WAS THE PIKE HOW CAUGHT YOUR DAD WITH DEAD BAIT
Maybe next he should teach you to turn caps lock off
How do you get cut bait to float
Put something with a positive buoyancy inside it, like certain tipes of wood.
Can the Polish anglers please put oor pike back. We don't eat them. Catch n release. I mean the bait you use is surely tastier than a pike. Cheers 🏴🇬🇧🤝
In the Netherlands you now find carp and pike heads because eastern Europeans dont get we only do catch and release in freshwater
Nejspíš je neumíte připravit - uvařit...😮

Does deadbait even work for pike in Ontario (let alone, North America)? I tried it several times, absolutely no luck.

The physical contact is a Jack on the larger female. Is this your first time pike fishing? Good footage though

очень круто, молодец что отпустил красавицу
WHY IS IT ON UNDER WATER FOOTAGE IT SEEMS THE FISH ARE INTRIGUED BY THE CAMERA?
Interesting right?
Hello friend, I would like to know how you managed to get the bait to stay suspended on the bottom, how do you get it to float?

A running lead and a baitrunner reel to allow the pike to feel no resistance is the best way...

The fishing advice to man small hooks for river;
Gracias recipes of women;
When u use a smaller piece dead bait how do u keep it up ? Bc i dont see a pop up or balsa stick..
Place a smaller balsa stick in it
Very much like the kebab rig

Useless hooking arrangement that. You need two trebles one at the head and one at the tail. Not a single hook. Amateurs
Thnx man. We always test different ways to see underwater what really happens. Your welcome👊
think about it, in our country in most waters only single hooks are allowed, pro !
