    Think I'm done with all the research I've done the last few months regarding T style (or even S style) affordable guitars...the Sire T7 or T7FM is the nicest and best deal. Between the roasted maple neck, the rolled fret edges, the locking tuners, and bone nut... It surpasses any T style I have seen or heard in the price range. It's less expensive than the Fender Player Tele which has a synthetic nut, and no locking tuners. Many of the T7 reviews I have watched, pretty much all were about 7lbs+ Maybe the T7FM's are a bit more... Anyway, I do believe I'm sold ! 😉

The reviews are in on this guitar and I for one am replacing my Squire Strat for an S7….when available?…..It’s a logical step up for a player like me from the Squire which has served me well. It would be interesting if you could compare this Sire against the Harley Benton Fusion-T HH HT Roasted FBLB that you changed the pick ups and the bridge, as the PU change on the HB brings the HB closer in price to the Sire!! I’ve got the “non-FM” T7 on order, but was totally convinced at one point that the T7 FM was going to be the one for me. Without a “Tele” in my collection, I decided to go more traditional. Also, I couldn’t understand why Sire would leave a single-coil bridge pup option out of the 5-way switch settings… especially with coil-splitting!

      Neck single coils are predominantly used by Jazz guitarists in the Joe Pass style of playing. Single coil bridge would perhaps be way too thin and tinny to consider as a position.

    • @norseman61
      @norseman61 2 года назад

      @@danielraju4458 True, and although a lot of jazz players do like Teles, the vast majority of Tele players are looking for that single-coil "twang" that is the Tele's signature sound. I guess if someome wants the twang, they can order the single-coil version.... like I did. Just got it delivered last week (7 months from Sweetwater), and it is FLAWLESS!

    • @danielraju4458
      @danielraju4458 2 года назад

      @@norseman61 I concur. But alas! The wisdom of limited choices and the law of diminishing returns beckons us to choose the best combinations to fit a wider palette of musical tastes. The single neck has a warmer sound and fits many styles not exclusive only to jazz. Glad you could find the right combination of pickups for your style of playing!

    You talked a little about it but do you think the FM T7 can get close to the vintage single coil pickup Telecaster? (or even the non-FM T7)

    Hey Jon! Great playing as usual! I've been lusting this guitar for some time now. So I keep coming back to this gear porn video.🤣🙂I was just curious if you tracked the harmony separately, or if you used a harmonizing effect. P.S. The guitar is almost in reach. I'm going to sacrifice my MIM Player Series Strat to get it. Based on the sound samples you supplied, I think I can get most, if not all of tones I need out of it. (did I mention GREAT PLAYING?!) I'm not that good, but I love guitar and the sound of it. But I'm primarily interested in the neck that I've been seeing hearing so much about. Also, I think I'm more of a Tele guy than a Strat guy. While I agree that the humbucker tones are creamy, I don't think the coil split is a negative feature if you want those Tele sounds. Last, but certainly not least, it looks gorgeous!! Can you let us know what your signal chain was for this video? That reverb is gorgeous too.

    What do you think of this compared to Harley benton Fusion-T tele? Bought both. Cant decide 😅 Slimmer neck on sire. More character in HB. Awful finish on HB in comparison

    Jon, Is this the Orange amp? I don't see a mic, so I thought I would ask. It sounds great.
