Just bought a T7. If you’re considering it do not hesitate. For the price they are absolutely fantastic - some great specs and the fit and finish is outstanding!
If fender were putting these out with all the high grade features and built quality, i reckon we would be getting charged £1500+ easy. I'm a fender fan boy but they don't do anything exciting these days except put their prices up. The only thing you get back that is any value for your money is the name on the headstock and the made in America title. Fender need to realise that brands are now building better guitars at cheaper prices that are not built in America. Go Sire, beautiful guitars at beautiful prices!!
Honestly the best and imo only reason anymore to pay fender prices (for folks who can afford to) is better working conditions in factories and more reasonable salaries. So ethical reasons only. Otherwise there's hardly anything that would set fender apart from much cheaper guitars
@@ekisoderqvist I paid £800 for a Fender Telecaster, it had upgraded custom pickups and a roasted neck. I upgraded the tuners to locking, costing another £100 and it still doesn’t quite match the Sire spec’s as the Sire has a bone nut. I will probably buy a Sire as they are great value and they look so good.
@@guitarman704 Not to mention the neck heel joint contour. I can't understand how fender is so behind on this, mostly offering it in premium guitars only
I really appreciate your way of making content. You don't aggresively scream in your microphone but still make jokes from time to time, while also actually showing the guitar
Over a years time, I bought (new & used) one of each of the Sire 7 series guitars trying them all out (including the T7FM). I was so impressed each time I got one. My favorite "go to" is the exact same red T7, although I play all the others at different times, but that Telly is really special.
That's a beauty. I like the finish on the fingerboard. Action height is subjective, but as long as one can lower it to one's preference w/o introducing string buzz, it's a non-issue, IMO. As for weight, I think we're getting kind of caught up in a fad regarding weight, unless one is a gigging musician. As the guy @ Casino Guitars said yesterday, "It doesn't matter for most people because most people are playing sitting in their living room." That describes me, but yeah, given the choice when buying online, I pick the lighter one. if I'm checking some out in person, I go for the one with the best sound and feel in the hands. I don't really notice the weight unless it is either really light, or significantly heavier than the rest, but if the heavy one sounds better, I'm buying it.
Larry Carlton is one of my guitar heroes (is that a thing?)…anyway, his album “Room 335” is required listening for all guitar players…it’s absolutely phenomenal!!!!
I own a T7 in antique white and the L7 in tobacco sunburst. Both are beautiful and very nice quality. Both have great necks but the L7 neck is crazy nice. I would say nice for the price, but honestly, there quality, is above there price point. Very happy.
I have the same exact two guitars. Like them both, but the L7 is really nice. Changed out the original control knobs with mocha black knobs w/ gold numbers and added knobs position indicators. Looks awesome. 😊
Sire YES! HIGH quality and reasonably priced, and roasted maple! The weight is heavy for a telecaster though otherwise it looks to be one thats hard to beat in this price range and it doesnt matter where its made as long as the quality is good.
Just got one of these a couple weeks ago, been loving it, great for the price! After adjusting the action its become my favorite guitar, only gripe is its a tad bit heavy.
I've owned 2 Sire basses and I can definitely say that they are worth the money nowadays. The first bass - a gen 1 V7 jazz - had it's fair share of problems, but it was still a pretty solid bass. The one I have now is a gen 3(?) P5R and it's absolutely amazing. I'm thinking of trying one of their Strat models as my first Sire guitar, but the bodyshape is horrendous. The Tele models look much better! Their ES-335 models also look really good, so maybe I should go for one of those.
The Radiohead riffs are strong on this one (sounds great, btw - I give it an A+ out of 10!) :D - Does the neck pickup strike you as a bit of bass-heavy? Too bad about the single coil routing for the neck pickup. Thanks for the deep-dive video! very useful
I love Sire guitars. Bought me a Larry Carlton H7 Semi Hollow, and it's fantastic! The playability, sounds are great. The only drawback is that the neck is too thin for me! But I still play it all the time!
I bought the H7 last year too. Had it ordered through my local music store. I received one of the earlier ones with the 40mm nut. I find the neck too narrow for my liking. Got it up for sale or trade. Other than the narrow first three frets, it's a beauty.

@@gregrose6915 I agree with the neck being too thin. I wish I could enjoy it but I sold mine!
Watched this video and several others re: the T7's and finally pulled the plug. Weight is definitely an issue for me. 7lbs has become my limit...less even better. After watching Andertons latest on the new J and semi hollow T styles from Sire, I pulled the plug yesterday and bought the newer model T7TV under 7lbs F hole or semi hollow in Sunburst finish. Got the demo model from Sweetwater and saved $65. From all I've read about the photos taken of their demo models in regards to wear or damage they're pretty accurate. I could hardly make out anything wrong from the arrow markings. Reassured by their 2yr warranty. Anxiously awaiting delivery this week ! Thanks for this deep dive Landon...much appreciated ! Judy
To me, the litmus test always is to take it to a gig and then feel and hear how it fits in with who you play with or what tracks you play with and what you are used to. I have a '96 Fender American Standard and a '96 American Standard B-Bender with Fender vintage pickups of that time installed in it. I found the T7 felt and played superb, but I thought maybe hotter pickups installed would be a better way to go. Nothing else needs to be changed except maybe an angled switch control plate and a 4-way switch installed, but that is something I do on every T-style guitar.
My new Sire S7 Strat type arrived last week. It is a VERY different instrument than the Fender/Squier guitars, but the quality is first-rate, regardless of the price That's likely because they design and build everything themselves in their own production facilities. BTW, if you don't know Larry Carlton, check out his work on the Steely Dan song "Kid Charlemagne." It's considered by many to be up there among the finest rock lead guitar playing of all time.
I have the same one, color and everything... Love it!... Been gigging out with it for 2 months now... Been leaving my American tele at home lately... The playability is great, and the tones strike me as vintage tele sounding on the country tunes we play...I recommend it A+ as well!... Good review!..
My T7 is flawless, and I honestly can't find anything that needs improvement... at any price. Sire just took the simple Tele and made every aspect of it top-notch. As stated, the fit/finish is flawless and the pickups are great. Bone nut, rolled finger board edges, cloth wiring, flawless fret-work. And at THIS price? Fender (and Suhr) has some 'splaining to do.
Agreed. I have a T7 and had a Suhr Classic T for a bit. Need to get the T7 properly set up to lower the action and what not, but after that I expect that it’ll be really comparable to the Suhr at a fraction of the cost.
Thank you for mentioning 'at any price'. I'm learning the guitar and looking to buy my first. I keep seeing people talk about Sires but always say '..for the price its good..' It's not a huge deal but that kind of deters me from getting one, thinking its cheaply made or that I have to fork over the $ for a bigger name like Fender
@@CrumplyPizza I felt pretty good buying mine based on the reviews, but havng now owned it for 2 years, I can STILL tell you my T7 is perfect. I like to rotate through my guitars for daily playing, and every single time I go back to the Sire, I am amazed at the quality, feel, and tone. I ordered mine from Sweetwater (along with a few other guitars in my collection) because of their return policy. If you get it and don't like it for whatever reason (or NO reason), you can just return it. You can't go wrong!
I have 2 Sire guitars and am now looking at the Tele to go with the H7V and and S7FM. Cheers! I get 3 perfectly capable guitars for covering all the bases gigging at the cost of a single domestic production model with a legacy name. Arguably even better in some areas.
Yep, they seem very good. Gloss on a roasted maple fretboard looks great - more companies should do that. After all,, it's the same as many do for non-roasted maple. Thanks.
My impression is that guitars are always set up with higher action at the factory or even at the store when it could be set a smidge lower. Reason being is that people don't always realize that temperature changes, tuning, string gauges - all these things have an effect on the action and I imagine that many guitars are returned because of a bit of string buzz because the factory setting was a bit too low so it's better not to risk that. What matters is a straight neck or a slightly bowed neck (which actually you do want a hair of bow) that can be brought straight very easily with the truss rod adjustment. I have purchased dozens of guitars over my 66 years of age and I have never NOT had to tweak the action to my liking. Never. But I am very comfortable at making my own adjustments which include all the usual stuff, filing nuts, filing bridges, shims etc. More players need to learn basic setup. I've had friends struggling with an acoustic guitar that was actually decent and they thought it was junk simply because it needed a setup. Cheers... And you're funny by the way.
Ooh, how timely! I just found out today about this guitar and I wondered if the telecater master has played it. Perfect! I had my eye on Schecter PT but I think I want more traditional tele.
I remember checking them out while in the us, but they are surprisingly cheaper here in europe, so now I'll really look into them, because they're a steal here
I'v bought one in off-white. Changed the pickguard to off-white an put some Lollars in. J street in the bridge and the (dunno the name) strat style tele pu in the neck. This guitars has a (much?) better feel than many , way more expansive, Fenders. Sounds great on the set-ups i use. Setting up the action to your liking is a piece of cake if you get the hang of it. Not fond of the abalony dots in the neck.
Very interesting!!! You read the Tele prompted very well, but the real interest is with that Sire T 7 Tele style guitar. I just watched the British cat review that guitar and he raved about it. It does appear to be a boutique level instrument in every way. The T 7 he reviewed was white with red tortoiseshell pickguard, roasted wood neck locking tuners and everything that you're showing of course. It's a beautiful looking Tele, a great player and a great deal for any guitarist seeking a Tele style instrument to his or her collection.
Another great video I love the fact you don't take things to seriously just looks like you enjoy making these videos and they are always helpful and informative. I do have a couple of questions, the color looks more orange than red is that the case? Also, would you buy this over a Player 2 or Play Plus or Squier? What about over a G&L Tribute? I want to get a Tele but really don't want to spend over $1K if I can get a quality Tele for that.
I just bought the T7 and it was a great guitar but decided to put the SD antiquies in it which i had put in a nocaster and it turns a good sounding tele into an amazing sounding instrument. Highly recommend.
Which one? The reason why I am asking is that I unscrew mine in order to change the whole hardware for a golden one… but there seemed to be two silver tin strips that that I think made the neck to stick properly, but I am not sure at which exact position they were 😂
3:11 *Valley Arts guitar!* Those were SO sweet! I could never afford the Custom Pro's or Larry Carlton and other signature models. I merely had their Standard Pro which was still amazing. Sold it 20 yrs later for $1600 vs $1200 brand new. wow. That fire in their under-insured shop killed them; sold to Samick, then dormant, then Gibson revived for a few years, then shut down. Still they always catch my eye with they come up on reverb...
It would be a hard choice to make between the Sire and a Schecter PT special, but since i already have the Schecter, I'll keep it. But I will upgrade to locking tuners when I get the chance. Did you mention how the frets were on this? You said you like the feel of the guitar, so I assume the frets were finished well. You will be pleased to know that when you boosted the gain and got some distortion, the English subtitles say "APPLAUSE". Bonus!
Great review. Thank you! If you have time, I would be grateful for a piece of advice: I’m into jazz, and I’m hesitating, do you recommend this Sire T7 over a Fender Telecaster?
Landon, you are my all time favorite besides Dave's World of Fun Stuff, Randy Schartiger, Boudreau Guitars, Dylan Talks Tone, Darrell Braun (you should see my Assassin Squier, it's nicer than his!), Texas Toast Guitars (built 2 killer Teles with Matt's bodies!), The Bald Shredder, Gelvin, Brad Angove, Six String Supplies, Rosa String Works, Matthew Scott, Sam Deeks (longest videos ever!) and StewMac vids. I enjoy you all! I learn what to do and what not to do!
Your NO UPGRADES NEEDED comment convinced me. All the other Squires and such, paranormals, etc, all the reviews ever talk about is the necessity of upgrading this or that component. I came back to see if you looked under the hood. I was hoping for a center space routed out to add a pickup. Too bad there is not. It would have been sweet to drop in a humbucker or a Strat type pickup up the road. Maybe i will do it one day. For now..i really like my T7 and I got it for 476 euro ($521).
Still no forearm contour? I have 10 Teles of various makes. Only one came originally with the contour. Playing steadily for several hours causes nerve issues in my forearm as the sharp edge is just too much. Haven't any manufacturers been enlightened enough to alter this issue?
Looks good, but something about that neck isn't jiving with me visually. It's not the shape of the headstock, but rather the color of the roasted maple. It almost looks prefabricated or something. Maybe it's just how it looks through my laptop screen.
That's one of the things that caught my attention. Anyone who asks, why That's an issue? Is obviously gonna say it doesn't matter. You can rough up the neck to make it feel smoother, but the fretboard is something most people wouldn't feel comfortable doing themselves. I have 3 guitars with roasted maple necks and fretboards, and nay one of them have any clear coat. Some people like shiny things more than others I guess?
Nice! I was just looking at these online a few days ago for the first time. Great timing! I appreciate that you give your opinion of the guitar. We can see and hear it through the magic of video, but it’s never the same as being there in person of course. Plus, you have the great advantage of comparing it with so many other guitars. Your opinion means a lot to us, that’s why we’re watching. (And to see your dog). 🐶 Keep it up!
I don't have one, and it plays really nice and I guess I like the color. So I'm not going to play it anymore until I get one. Maybe I won't have two, but I'm going to get one. Right?
I have ignored Sire up until now, thinking it's yet another brand name made in Indonesia that is touted as be "the best" whatever... I can't dismiss them after watching Landon's review because he is Mr Telecaster !

If I got one of those I would have to take the neck off and send it to mjt guitars and have that gloss stripped off, I can't believe gloss finish on that neck
@zackpack8 doesn't need any finish , just like a rosewood fret doesn't, also...I'm not sure if you're aware but not everyone likes the same thing..I'm allowed to not like finish on something that doesn't need finish lol.
Landon how does this guitar compare to a Squier Custom Vibe 50’s Telecaster? Given that they are close in price comparison which one would you buy? And are these available in Canada?
So glad I found the Larry Carlton's.....was thinking of getting a Japanese Fender Telecaster, but these just sound soooooo great and they are HALF the price.....(I don't care what it says on the headstock if the guitars sound THIS good) These might become collector items in a few decades.
I have the Sire H7 in see through red and I love it. Looked at the T 7 in white and was tempted to buy it, but I ended up getting a Squire Classic Vibe tele in butterscotch and a special cranker pedal instead.
Proud Korean brand! Great Bass/Guitars with reasonable prices. I have L7 (Les Paul type) Alpine White and love it! If I had extra money and space, I would like to add H7, T7 and M series bass in my collection. Oh and good to see Sam again!😍
It's interesting to me that they chose to build their production facilities in Indonesia rather than in their home country, but the quality of my S7 Vintage is still very high.
@@patrickfitzgerald2861 I'm not sure but probably it's about tax or wages. And many companies like Squire, Jackson etc making their products in Indonesia. Average quality of Indonesian instruments are keep rising.
Heads Up to anyone considering a Sire guitar. My T3 arrived with defective saddle-height screws. None of the 12 screws fit the allen wrench well, and 2 of them won't bite at all. So I can't adjust 2 of the 6 saddles. I understand that defective parts might make their way onto any guitar, so I wasn't too concerned. I emailed Sire right away and asked for replacements. But I'm still waiting, and my 30 day return period is passing quickly. Just something to consider when choosing a brand.
@@landonbailey Every one? I doubt it, and that's not what I'm trying to say. I'm saying that my T3 came in that way. My concern isn't about poor quality components. It's that Sire hasn't resolved the issue, and my 30 day return window is running out. It's more a statement on their support than the quality of their product.
I recently purchased this in antique white. I’m not the biggest fan of the pickups and I think the edges of the fretboard may be a little too rolled. The high e rolls off accidentally a little too frequently
Does anyone know if Sire T7 takes standard telecaster pickguard? The white color is my favorite, but I want to swap white pickguard to it. Sire basses at least have the exact same pickguard but screw placement is different.

I got myself a T7 FM recently. Love. It.
I have an S7 and I can't put it down. Its effing fantastic. The only issue I have is with the volume roll-off on the volume pot.
I just bought the T7 and it was a great guitar but decided to put the SD antiquies in it which i had put in a nocaster and it turns a good sounding tele into an amazing sounding instrument. Highly recommend.
Sometimes I don't know what I want to see until a video title tells me what I want to see 🤘🎸
great video... could you possibly show us how it looks underneath the neck plate? thanks
under the neck plate? it would look like the back of the guitar. also I gave it away in another video
Which one? The reason why I am asking is that I unscrew mine in order to change the whole hardware for a golden one… but there seemed to be two silver tin strips that that I think made the neck to stick properly, but I am not sure at which exact position they were 😂
It should be sir Larry Carlton
👍🎸
3:11 *Valley Arts guitar!* Those were SO sweet! I could never afford the Custom Pro's or Larry Carlton and other signature models. I merely had their Standard Pro which was still amazing. Sold it 20 yrs later for $1600 vs $1200 brand new. wow.
That fire in their under-insured shop killed them; sold to Samick, then dormant, then Gibson revived for a few years, then shut down. Still they always catch my eye with they come up on reverb...
I just pre-ordered the L7 les paul Blacl beauty with gold hardware 😊 can't wait to receive it
Nice!!
Canadian Tire food scale.... what are you feeding your tires?🤔 I need to know because Minnesota winters suck too.
Rubber plants
Thanks, Ryan George. 😄
you're welcome, whoever I am
Can you review the Hartwood fifty6 electric guitar? The single pickup version.
Would be a cool video!
I've never heard of that brand
It would be a hard choice to make between the Sire and a Schecter PT special, but since i already have the Schecter, I'll keep it. But I will upgrade to locking tuners when I get the chance. Did you mention how the frets were on this? You said you like the feel of the guitar, so I assume the frets were finished well. You will be pleased to know that when you boosted the gain and got some distortion, the English subtitles say "APPLAUSE". Bonus!
subtitles are funny! 😝 ya frets are good. mentioned in Pros
@@landonbailey how does this compare to the Godin Stadium tele
Sire make great stuff. The T7 snd S7 looks appealing. Great demo!
Great review. Thank you! If you have time, I would be grateful for a piece of advice:
I’m into jazz, and I’m hesitating, do you recommend this Sire T7 over a Fender Telecaster?
this one was really good. I wouldn't recommend either brand over the other. both are good
@@landonbailey Thanx for this quick answer. Keep going the good work!
The wonderful jazz players Julian Lage, Mike Stern and Tim Lerch use Telecasters.
the internet is in love with Sire recently
Well that’s a lovely looking guitar.
Great review. About to order an H7.
Do you know what the '7' & '3' mean in the Sire guitar line?
I don't actually!
Yeah thats a dope tele really love the gloss on the roasted maple and then the abalone contrasts that roasted maple really nice
Bought a T7 FM a few weeks ago. Big bang for the buck! Really enjoying it.
congrats!
Man, I would love to see you try a K-Line Truxton. I’ve had Fenders and and Xotic XTC-1 but my K-Line has kicked all challengers squarely in the nuts.
I had the strat version and it was great, but the extra-glossy maple fingerboard is a dealbreaker for me.
I'm curious why that would be a negative?
@@patrickfitzgerald2861Great question and point!!!
Yeah, odd dealbreaker. The glossy maple fingerboard looks great to me.
Great video as always. Did hope to see if the ferrules were flush or on top. Each time they were on screen it was a quick flash.
Glad I could help!
Great video! Subbed! Thanks
Awesome, thank you!
I don't have one, and it plays really nice and I guess I like the color. So I'm not going to play it anymore until I get one. Maybe I won't have two, but I'm going to get one. Right?
I’m interested if you can lay your hands on a 2004 FSR Telecaster. They came out of the Corona plant. Very limited run of guitars!
I have ignored Sire up until now, thinking it's yet another brand name made in Indonesia that is touted as be "the best" whatever... I can't dismiss them after watching Landon's review because he is Mr Telecaster !
Unless something changed, Sire guitars and basses are made in Korea in Sire's factory
@@douglasholdenjr.45 Well I had no idea to be fair, I really thought it would be along the lines of the other "also ran" brands that get lots of attention from time to time. I think you really do know what I meant.
The Andertons channel cover them a lot, if that’s useful.
I took the leap and got an H7. Instantly bonded with it. The quality makes the Epiphone ES look like Glarry.
@@shaunw9270 Wasn't beating up on you.😝😝😂😂 Was just bringing up a fact, brother. Everyone is so quick to be offended. Never my intention. Have a great day.
I tried to get one all last year, but Sweetwater was out of stock. Got a PRS instead.
ya they seem to be out of stock often. What model did you go for?
@@landonbailey I was looking for the S7 in green, the S7 FM in blue, or the T7 you got. All were out. After about ten months of waiting, I got the PRS SE 24-08 in blue. With that in hand, I'm leaning more towards the T7 now. Hopefully, I'll be able to grab one eventually. Glad you did this review, because it's convinced me the T7 is worth it.
I'd really like you to compare the T7 to the new T3. Is the T7 worth it?
If I got one of those I would have to take the neck off and send it to mjt guitars and have that gloss stripped off, I can't believe gloss finish on that neck
@zackpack8 doesn't need any finish , just like a rosewood fret doesn't, also...I'm not sure if you're aware but not everyone likes the same thing..I'm allowed to not like finish on something that doesn't need finish lol.
Wow gorgeous guitar great video!
Rock on!
Landon how does this guitar compare to a Squier Custom Vibe 50’s Telecaster? Given that they are close in price comparison which one would you buy? And are these available in Canada?
It's a few steps up from a CV 50. I haven't looked where they are available in Canada yet.
We need a comparison video… we needs it.
Hope you’re well!
I'm amazed how close they got to matching Larry's famed 335 here... 😂
they plugged the f-holes and shrunk it!
@@landonbailey😂👍
Yo, i was less than 1 minute in when i liked your video. i kept watching and it didn't get much worse. thank you.
No problem!
The SAM cameo or SAMeo was the best part. Rad guitar too!
SAMEO! I like that
So glad I found the Larry Carlton's.....was thinking of getting a Japanese Fender Telecaster, but these just sound soooooo great and they are HALF the price.....(I don't care what it says on the headstock if the guitars sound THIS good) These might become collector items in a few decades.
Just bought another guitar couple days ago. My wife is having a fit. I might buy the sire anyway.
That is a nice quality instrument! It’s off to the races right outta the box. That roasted neck is calling me.
Nice guitar 😊 thank you 😊
I have the Sire H7 in see through red and I love it.
@@이태원-u5r I agree, but the guys at Sire went quite a bit further by keeping everything in-house. A very smart move in my opinion.
@@patrickfitzgerald2861 Raw materials most likely.
Every Sire guitar has bad screws?
@@landonbailey Every one? I doubt it, and that's not what I'm trying to say. I'm saying that my T3 came in that way. My concern isn't about poor quality components. It's that Sire hasn't resolved the issue, and my 30 day return window is running out. It's more a statement on their support than the quality of their product.
What size table are you using? Thanks.
Whatever I got at Costco. Maybe 5 feet long
I have a Sire acoustic, for 350 Euro, and it is fantastic. Sold my Taylor :)
Do they make strats in shell pink, perhaps? I think I may need to buy one
your in the top 5 of guitar reviewer on RUclips! funny and smart! thanks for your videos
Thanks! 😃
I recently purchased this in antique white. I’m not the biggest fan of the pickups and I think the edges of the fretboard may be a little too rolled. The high e rolls off accidentally a little too frequently
I do think the next itself is awesome and fit and finish are second to none in this price bracket. Could upgrade pickups and be super duper happy
Does anyone know if Sire T7 takes standard telecaster pickguard? The white color is my favorite, but I want to swap white pickguard to it. Sire basses at least have the exact same pickguard but screw placement is different.
Take off, eh….great review Landon….I just bought a Sire D5 Bass which is a 51 Fender P-Bass copy….It is fantastic. If I had the cash, I’d buy a Fender but I can’t imagine that it would sound or play much better than my Sire….Dave from Aurora, Ontario.
I’ve got Sire U5 and V7 bass guitars and for the price they are a good value.
Hey Larry, I just love those Landon Carlton S(qu)ires ! The Antique White with roasted maple neck is the best looker though, I think! You make this one sound great, btw!
😝🎸👍
great review and cover! would you consider this to be better than the squier classic vibe (50s) tele?
I would consider the T7 better yes
Specs are great, build Q looks pretty nice. I can't stand the headstock shape though and that unfortunately is a deal breaker.
SAM CAMEO YES and great review Landon A- out of 10 on the sketches
