I always appreciate your honest unapologetic reviews, i searched your channel for this very review. Im a lefty and im ordering a T7 in butterscotch. The dealers in the USA dont carry leftys so i have to order it direct from Sire.
I just sold my Fender Tele. Missing having a tele already and wanted one to mod, was looking at the Squier Classic Vibe but this is VERY tempting. That roasted neck with white body and tortoise guard looks amazing. Great content as always!
Cheers man, I think the only disappointing thing about this would be how little you'd need to do to it.... pups and pots if you fancied it but that's about it job done! Happy Holidays :)
@@theguitaristas Haha that’s great, less work for me then. I really liked the sounds you got too. Looks, sound, features, this looks great. I’d maybe add an extra series/parallel switch for fun and it would be my ideal telecaster. Happy Holidays!
@UCWP7W-QSXlA7RHoySV0mKFQ You said an MIM Fender costs less. Go on Sweetwater now. The Sire telecaster is $599, an MIM classic player tele is $799. That’s $200 more. And there isn’t a minimum price to mod a guitar. If you think any guitar $599 and up isnt worth modding, you’re in the minority. Loads of people change out pickups on those MIM Fenders or even Epiphones which are in a similar price range. MIM Fenders and other guitars in that price range, are a very popular modding platforms.
@@StevieZero Because it's what we like doing... some people even change the pups and wiring on very expensive custom shop guitars simply because they want to it and makes them happy. We do it because It's fun and makes the guitar even more unique!
I love your honest reviews (and constant humor). You say when something is good/great or otherwise. You can really tell that other reviewers are just trying to stay positive all the time so they don't lose the free gear from the manufacturers, I don't feel that way watching your reviews. You are doing a great service for folks like me that are in the market for "affordable" guitars that punch above their pay grade. Thank you for that....
Congratulations on reaching over 10k subscribers. I believe that to be a major milestone. Before you know it, you will have 50k subs, then 100k and so on. Beautiful guitar. Larry Carlton is a great guitarist, as I’m sure we all know. Sire is lucky to have him onboard. They seem to produce great quality guitars at very reasonable prices, and I’m sure Larry is free to pick and choose which companies he would want to work with as far as having not just one, but two signature guitars. I happen to prefer the T-Style myself. For a relatively unknown brand that started in the late 90’s, they have come a long way and are much more known today not only because of the Larry Carlton signatures, but because of the quality of their very fine and affordable instruments. Very, very impressive I must say, and thank you for yet another great episode.
Cheers man, thanks for you support I can’t believe we have 10k subs already... i had originally forecast 1k by now! 😂 looking forward to seeing where this journey takes us but it’s all really thanks to the support you and our fantastic community of guitaristas all give me 🙏 looking forward to trying out the other Larry Carlton guitars in the new year. Happy Holidays! 😎✌️
@@theguitaristas I got my butterbean today and it's lovely. I can't belive how good the neck are for that price. Same with the tuners and knobs. This felt more high end. Mine was a bit on the heavier side but imo it just helps the tone. And my God does it ring out loud when you strum it unplugged. This is a keeper for sure.
Thanks, Colin - another excellent video review, as is your norm. As others have mentioned, your upfront, sincere and honest assessments and very helpful demonstrations of the guitars you show us are greatly appreciated. Your love of guitars and playing them shines through in every one of your videos. Straight talk and advice like yours makes your channel a valuable resource for all of us. Only one drawback, IMO - every time I watch one of your vids I am compelled to…BUY another guitar! I now have 15, and certainly don't NEED another, nor do have much more space to put another! Please, someone stop me - before I click "COMPLETE PURCHASE" again!
I've said this before but can't help myself... I SO appreciate every aspect of how you choose to break down a guitar in You Tube video form. I wish you a 100 thousand more subscribers as you are worth every single one. Beyond that, super cool guitar, very appealing as I don't have a Tele. Thank you for choosing this one to review, and I agree with you in that it looks stellar for the price. Serious contender now for my next geetar. Cheers, mate. Carry on, and on... please!
I bought a Glarry for £65. Flattened, crowned and polished the frets, sanded off the makers name, reshaped the headstock, bone nut, added a skunk stripe using mahogany stain, lacquered the neck, shimmed it. Added some new strings and its fine. It ALSO "has a fabulous ring to it". Spent about £20 on it so far. Plenty left to change out the pickups, pots etc. and still save hundreds on a shop bought guitar. And it was FUN. Downsides neck is a bit thick (I might yet reshape it).
I like the long format. So many guitar reviews are ten minutes and done--not enough time to really get to know the guitar. I also appreciate the care taken when removing the pickups and setting them down on a cloth instead just throwing them on the paint as so many reviewers do, like nothing could happen. OCD? Yep, but it is nice to see some thoughtfulness on a guitar channel. I have a Sterling Cutlass with a roasted maple neck and locking tuners. The combo is a winner. So I am convinced. I plan to get the T7 asap.
Hello Colin, doing research on the Sire T7 led me to this video and your channel, for which I am truly grateful. Fantastic stuff. I really appreciate how you get into the details, take it apart and make measurements, check wiring and build quality, and so on. Unfortunately, you don’t see that very often on YT. The only thing missing I would have really wanted to learn was the actual size of the frets. Would it be possible for you to measure the crown height and width and report back? Thanks again! Cheers!
Hey Eric thanks for the support! I'm trying to cover as much 'nerdy' detail as possible but I fear that amount of minutiae would be stretching the capabilities of my measuring equipment to the limits! Good point though and I shall definitely think about upgrading some kit and trying to think about such finer detail in the future. :)
I really enjoyed your review of the T7. I have the H7 and enjoy the high quality of the Sire construction. I have an A4 on order and may check out the T7 FM. I have the same problem of selling any of my guitars. They are my friends.
In addition to my comments below, I will not change pickups and electronics. This guitar is best like it is, and I mean it in a positive way. Played it also on a victory V40 deluxe with a 1x12 cream back loaded cabinet, and it can hold up against the clarity and high definition and treble load of this amp very much. Sounds very natural and thick without loosing too much mids. More even, than my beloved Fender Telecaster. That means something. Further, the guitar had not to be changed in set up. And I am a freak when it comes to optimize a guitar for me. Perfect out of the box!!!
yours is the only guitar review channel I have subbed. This looks like a very nice midline budget guitar. I enjoy the reviews. You remind me of a friend I had many years ago from across the pond. Greetings from the US.
OMG I almost bought one of these! I am so excited to sit and watch you, Colin, pick this beauty apart and let us know its strengths and weaknesses. I'm throwing a log on, sipping a Martini watching this review! Happy holidays to you Colin and to ALL! And Colin, for me and many other guitar players and fans... your vids have brought a lot of cheer during this difficult year. All the best for 2022. Cheers!
Love the T series/ Now that NAAM is over, Sire has a few new models...and I for one am interested in both the new thinline T7TM & T7TV Teles ! The T series come with rolled fret edges (all Sires do) , roasted maple necks and locking tuners... You get a lot for the the money. More than the Fender player series offers for $250 less !
I have the L7, S7, looking for an H7, and now (thanks to you) I’m now looking for a T7 too. These are really really nice guitars! I already have MANY LP’s, Strats, Tele’s, Hollow bodies, Super Strats, etc. but these guitars are just so nice for the $$$ that I couldn’t help myself, as they’re nice to have as excellent “grab n go” guitars. Excellent guitars and video. Thanks for all details and the video! Best! ✌🏼
I just ordered a fiesta red T7 from Andertons yesterday. It will be my first electric guitar and I'm sure I will love it. From what I've seen on youtube the only thing I will maybe do is swap the pickups for some custom shop Fender pickups like the Nocaster. These seem to sound a bit bright to my noob ears 🙂
Another fantastic video, I’m a big telecaster fan I’m lucky and old enough to own about ten of them from an original 1962 to custom shop, American standards, MIJ and the newer vintera 50s which is a brilliant guitar, I’m thinking I’ll definitely pull the trigger on one of these, great review you had me at the Clash , happy new year and congratulations on over 10,000 subscribers, it’s been great to see the channel grow and grow, really enjoying all your videos,
Cheers John, nice collection you have there!... always room for one more though eh? ;) Yes it's amazing that we have passed 10K already and it's absolutely thanks to all you like-minded guitar addicts for supporting me on this the journey... we are certainly not alone!! Hello from Santa Maria, California! 🖖 Watched several of your videos and have enjoyed them. I am getting started playing guitar late in life. I find your style to be very natural and conversational with your videos being helpful understanding things and how things impact one another. Wish you well and thank you. 🙂
Hey thanks for comment, and greetings back at you from the UK! Great to hear you are picking up the guitar now I'm sure it will give you hours of enjoyment and is well worth investing time in. Good luck with your progress and hopefully you will pick up a few tips from the channel! :)
The Sire guitars are getting a lot of reports of bad QA issues from what I've read. It's really hard to justify this much money for an Indonesia made tele nowadays when the FGN Boundary Iliad is selling for literally the same price, but has compound radius fretboard, Gotoh hardware and made-in-Japan craftsmanship. Maybe the Sires are "good" guitars, but definitely not for this price.
Oh I dunno I thought this one was very good to be honest... the L7 was a slightly different matter as previously reported so maybe it's hit and miss... well try some more and perhaps find out. Not familiar with that brand you mention in the UK I shall do some research!
I've watched a fair amount of your videos. I really like they way you play. Very, very nice melodies. Also appreciate your honest opinions. I bought a JET JT300 based on your review and the way you played it. I still go back to that vid to listen to you playing it. Thanks man!!
The Sire T 7 that you're showing is a gorgeous looking instrument. I've always loved white Fender guitars with the red tortoise shell pick guard and a rosewood neck. The neck on this Sire Tele is not rosewood; it's some sort of roasted wood something?! Great sound and a good deal for any player looking to add a Tele style guitar to their arsenal. Arsenal!! Just reminded me to be up at 7am to catch the first game of the UKs Premiere football league. 5 hour difference.........now, about that Tele!!!??
Having consummate artists involved in the design phase is insanely intelligent. Having signature models is one thing but having them feedback many design changes makes that instrument everything it can be makes sense. Along with Sire being very focused on build quality results in a great instrument. I still own a few US and MIM fenders which are awesome but never hesitate to buy Sires now.
I just had a Christmas gift bought for me. a solo king white tele from Andertons which is very similar to this with a £300 price tag. Might be a nice one for you to review as I do know you like affordable guitars. Loving the channel. 👍🏻
For the most part I've given up on guitar reviews done by many of the other RUclips channels. I truly find your reviews as genuine, and they don't have that "corporate" feel to them. I'm a die hard Fender fan, but their quality on their lower end guitars have been off, and I can't justify the expense of the super high end guitars. I just happened to stumble upon Sire, and have been busy checking out reviews on line, and so far I can't really find anything that would disqualify them. At first I was even against Squire, but after playing a few of them in a guitar shop I was pleasantly surprised about how they felt and sounded compared to many MIM models. Now I'm kind of torn between the Sire and Squire, and heavily leaning towards the Sire. Great review as always.
The whole point of staggered height tunes is not to lower the break angle of the E and A. It is to increase the break angle of the top strings so that you don't need string trees (which are a source of friction and mostly unnecessary IMO).
@@theguitaristas I don't think they're much more expensive than these actually. They even make it in white to satisfy your yearning 🤩 Cheers mate, happy Christmas!
I went out this year for Christmas and bought my 1st American Performer Fender Telecaster and I don't know why it took me 50 years to discover these Gems! I have heard nothing but good reviews about Sire.I did not think to look at Sire's🙃Hope your Christmas was great!!!

I have been looking for a new traditional Tele for a couple of months now, like yourself I like a traditional Telecaster with maple fretboard ,brass saddle ashtray, I have been tempted by some other models with roasted maple necks and fretboards but I cant recall any of them having a gloss fretboard, this one has though and its just made my decision so much simpler!
I had my new T7 arrive yesterday and it's wonderful. My only wish is that it has .010 strings on it and I prefer .009s. So I'm just a string change away from having an awesome tele!!
As usual, great review....convinced me it's time to Tele....Trogly and yourself are the best reviewers....no bull s*%t....keep up the great work....we are in the golden age for guitars, and you çlear a path for us to make well informed choices
Thanks Darth, I really appreciate your support and even to be mentioned in the same sentence as the troglodyte is a massive honour! 🙌 cheers man keep on rocking in the new year! 😎👍
Killer specs! These Sire guitars compete with Fenders at double the price! I would take them over almost *anything* under $1,000. I am waiting for the T7's to release here in Canada in April, and assuming it plays *anything* remotely like I expect it to, one shall be mine in the Spring!
The video is my christmas gift on christmas eve - where i will get eventually also a Tele Copy - but maybe cheaper we will see. Great review - Thanx and also merry christmas to you - Greetings from Germany
Thanks for another great video Colin. I have the Fender AP II Telecaster and this guitar has the same top load and brass saddle features at about the third of the cost. Looking forward to next weeks show of your annual review. Very cool playout 👍
Hi Colin merry xmas to you and yours, how great to find a guitar thats just right for you its a rare moment. Its happened to me only 3 times in over 50 yrs and i still own them. All the best for 2022 cheers Steve
I’ve taken up guitar again after many years, I my teens I had an HH 100 combo with one effect …reverb, I now have a Boss Katana, bloody hell…….but my favourite purchase is a Squier Tele deluxe with humbuckers, I had a Custom Tele then and really regretted selling it, my dad saved for months to buy it for me, but regardless of what you pay there is just something really unique about the Tele sound….my favourite guitar….now where can I find a Strat!
Cheers Adrian, welcome back fella... I must admit I'm after one of those Squier CV Tele Deluxes myself, such cool guitars so I think it will be on the list soon for a review! Forget Strats get an SG next!! ;)
There's a quote from Greg Koch that I like, 'At the end of the world there will still be Telecasters and they will be in tune'. Merry Chrimbo and here's to plenty more reviews in the new year. Cheers (from the formerly named Eawahwah)
I’m glad you like it! I have the exact model/color of that Squier Tele you sent back. (I’m ok with the pinkish tint). I had to change the saddles to compensated brass barrels, and the neck pickup was rubbish. Changed that for a Fralin. All said, I think you came out ahead, given the sound of the pickups and the little extra details you highlighted.
Keep your ears and eyes open with these (or any guitar) when you get them or check one out. Some Sires through our shop have splits, cracks, separating fingerboards, buzzing E1 B2 on the Ts, some failing circuit boards on active models. The Sires are all beautifully designed and finished, look, sound and feel good but like any product, faces supply quality issues. Get a good one!
I bought the S7 a few weeks ago and it should arrive in February (fingers crossed) Can't wait for your review of that although after seeing this T7 I'm sure I'm in good hands. This is the first Sire review I've seen where the bonnet was lifted and we got to see underneith. Really appreciate the effort you go to in providing us with all this info. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Regards from Queensland, Australia.
Thank you for once again for giving a very honest as you find it review , it's a breath of fresh air for a guitar review without being in the manufacture pocket 👍🎸
Colin, Congratulations on a excellent video man👍 If I didn’t already have one (bought it from Thomann a few weeks back because Andertons didn’t have any )I would definitely order one after your video to try👍 I bought the Larry Carlton white HSS Strat from Andertons after seeing John Robsons review of his version a few weeks earlier than the Tele and fell head of heels in love with that so decided to try the Tele and wasn’t disappointed 👍 I’ve since bought the white Larry Carlton SSS Strat that has made me fall back in love with that style of guitar.👌👍 I’ve also added a sire Larry Carlton electro acoustic to my Larry Carlton collection and that’s also a outstanding guitar 👍 I’m absolutely blown away by the brilliant finish build and sound quality of these guitars that put much more expensive Fenders to shame.
Cheers Dave, nice to hear there’s consistency, just a bit of a mystery with the L7 issues on the one I got so at the moment we have to call it a ‘draw’ ! 😆 so really looking forward to trying the others now! 😎👍
Indeed you did and you were not wrong! Cheers man thanks for all the support you've given this year it's really appreciated.... have a great holiday! )
As a left handed player I've been waiting an age for Fender to make some more interesting looking tele player guitars and it seems I'm gonna be waiting while longer. The white body and finger board on this look great just not sure about the finger board colour. Bur a great option for left-handed players when the choice is somewhat limited in this price bracket.

@@theguitaristas Haha that’s great, less work for me then. I really liked the sounds you got too. Looks, sound, features, this looks great. I’d maybe add an extra series/parallel switch for fun and it would be my ideal telecaster. Happy Holidays!
Why would you buy a guitar that's same price as a Mexican Fender over a squier to mod? This guitar is£500+ ....
Thanks that's appreciated! 🙏 one of the benefits of staying independent is I can say and do whatever I please! 😁👍
I bought this guitar 4 hours ago, I hope I won't regret this. Back to the video. :)
It’s great don’t worry! 😂👍
Got the sunburst tele....don't know how they do it, but you are gonna love it!
@@Heivang Excellent thanks for sharing man have fun! 😎👍
Just bought the Fiesta Red..incredible
😎👍 cheers Russell, sorry you may have to stop watching mate there’s plenty more coming… 🤣🤣
Dude, I just bought this very same guitar ... can't wait until it arrives!
Carry on, and on... please!
Cheers David! 🙏 Thanks for the kind words it's really appreciated... thanks for watching!! 😎👍
Back watching this video again...brilliant job of reviewing it. Thanks to your review, this model moved up on my list !
Brilliant! I do keep saying that cheap guitars are so great because they are so much fun... and this just goes to prove that is true 👍
I bought a glarry bass and it was a piece of junk. I returned it immediately!
We gonna have to sell some guitars.. so we can buy more. I love that comment. I know the feeling. Great video and review.
This guy is a legend...nice to get an honest review!!! ❤
Cheers man, yes these are great guitars and I agree it is already good does not need anything! 😎👍
yours is the only guitar review channel I have subbed. This looks like a very nice midline budget guitar. I enjoy the reviews. You remind me of a friend I had many years ago from across the pond. Greetings from the US.
Thanks man that's appreciated, thanks for the sub and support! Have a great weekend 😎👍
Cheers!
Cheers Ken, thanks for all our support this year man I know I keep saying it but it really is appreciated 🙏 Happy Holidays! 😎✌
You are doing a great service for at least 10k people worldwide weekly. Please keep it up and thanks again. Merry Christmas from Pennsylvania USA!
Thanks again man, yes 10k is amazing! Thanks for all your support getting me here it’s really appreciated 😎👍
Amazing guitars, not just for the money! Slap a great set of PU's in this T and you're done. Best bang for buck guitars atm IMHO.
Best! ✌🏼
Thanks man, interested to know if your L7 had any such issues like mine?
Bought the S7 vintage and I love it.
Nice one... looking forward to trying that one myself! :)
This is how everybody should review a guitar. Thank you.
Best review I’ve ever seen on this guitar or maybe just about any guitar. Well done sir, thank you and nice playing by the way
😁🙏
I'm about to buy my first electric guitar after 5 years of playing acoustic and this video convince me to get this one, thank you Sir
Nice one!... can't really go wrong with this one 😎👍
Nice one! 😎👍
I got the Fiesta Red too..2 tuners were faulty but were replaced with no.problems they sent a whole new set..is amazing
So thanks again and I'm looking forward to bringing more nerdy guitar based nonsense throughout the new year!

A local dealer offers Sire guitars. They have an overseas model. Looks good. Thanks for the review.
Being a big Clash man myself loved the "Safe European Home" & "Police & Thieves" bits.
Everything i have heard about these guitars has been great, not a bad word. Fretwork looks fantastic, other makers take note.
Hello from Santa Maria, California! 🖖
Watched several of your videos and have enjoyed them.
My L7 was the same, high E string touching saddle and rubbish tone pots. Sent it back. Was going to try the H7 but a 40mm nut is too narrow for me.
Cheers that’s appreciated! 😁👍
Congrats on the 10,000 subs milestone, Colin! Onwards and upwards 👍🏻👍🏻 Cheers from OZ!
Cheers man, and thanks for the support all the way through it’s really appreciated 🙏 happy holidays....barbecue on the beach is it? 😎👍
@@theguitaristas Just relaxing at home, beach is a little too far for us (400km). Air con working O/T, 37c on the way, today.
Have a good one man! 😎👍
Enjoyed this. My one arrives tomorrow. Fingers crossed it’s as good as this one
Nice one! 😎👍👍
I just had a Christmas gift bought for me. a solo king white tele from Andertons which is very similar to this with a £300 price tag. Might be a nice one for you to review as I do know you like affordable guitars. Loving the channel. 👍🏻
Just got one. Because of this review. It's everything you say it is. I love it. Thanks!✌️
Nice one! 😁👍
Good démonstration, thanks a lot from France !
This guitar sounds amazing clean. And every other way. Great playing.
I'm as impressed with the 🎸 guitar as I am with this channel. 👌
Cheers! 😁🙏
The tune you’re playing with it fits the vibe of the guitar perfectly!
Cheers Tim! :)
The whole point of staggered height tunes is not to lower the break angle of the E and A. It is to increase the break angle of the top strings so that you don't need string trees (which are a source of friction and mostly unnecessary IMO).
ah OK ... so basically I got it arse about face? thanks for pointing that one out Donald I learn at least one new thing every week! :)
Wow that unpluged ring is beautiful
Just ordered the T7 white. Thanks for your review it looks like I am getting a good one.

Happy holidays and happy new year, Colin!
That roasted maple neck is gorgeous.

Killer specs! These Sire guitars compete with Fenders at double the price! I would take them over almost *anything* under $1,000. I am waiting for the T7's to release here in Canada in April, and assuming it plays *anything* remotely like I expect it to, one shall be mine in the Spring!

Ah Hey Murray! Thanks for supporting and happy holidays to you too man! 😎👍
Cheers Geoff… plus not forgetting I ended up with a white one! 😂👍
Great review. Thanks for the detailed info. Cheers! Hoping to find one now.

Congratulations on a excellent video man👍
If I didn’t already have one (bought it from Thomann a few weeks back because Andertons didn’t have any )I would definitely order one after your video to try👍
I bought the Larry Carlton white HSS Strat from Andertons after seeing John Robsons review of his version a few weeks earlier than the Tele and fell head of heels in love with that so decided to try the Tele and wasn’t disappointed 👍
I’ve since bought the white Larry Carlton SSS Strat that has made me fall back in love with that style of guitar.👌👍
I’ve also added a sire Larry Carlton electro acoustic to my Larry Carlton collection and that’s also a outstanding guitar 👍
I’m absolutely blown away by the brilliant finish build and sound quality of these guitars that put much more expensive Fenders to shame.
