The FGN definitely sounded the best to my ears (apart from Pete's own custom shop one). I'm really surprised Lee said it needed a pickup upgrade. The pickups may not sound 100% fender but they sound the most pleasant and most dynamic. Aria's main feature is push-pull engaging of middle pickup. That pickup is a game changer. And it is great guitar overall. The only thing I don't like is the color of the guitar back. It would be very nice that back color is same as neck (or a front), a little bit more discreet. Six color guitar is a little too much. Every part - different color: chrome hardware, red front, white pickguard, black middle pickup, roasted maple neck, creamy back...
There is one consideration that's fairly important to me, and that's the quality of the tuners. That might be the best mod for the really cheap guitars like the EastCoast or even Squier. I think the others come with good tuners, but not sure about the Aria.
Guess it depends on where it is build. I think a really interesting shootout would be to take 5-10 guitars of one type replace the pickups and strings in all of them to be high grade aftermarket matching pickups and good quality strings. Then set them up to have matching action and pickup heights. Then do the blindfold test where the guitar with its total price (instrument, pickups and setup) is shown. See how they rank. There could be one exception for the expensive guitars, if their pickups are more expensive than the aftermarket then they stay.
as a bedroom guitarist i'm more of esthetic conscious than the brand, body shape and the hs design comes first followed by playability, price then how it actually sounds, that's why no matter how good the price, feel and sounds, brand like suhr, gnl, shecter, prs, sire, are the last options for me, on the other hand i love odd design and hs like puresalem, macmull t style, james tyler or fano
You can tell how a T-style guitar will sound just by looking at the position of the bridge pickup relative to the bridge saddles. If it's spaced more than normal, it'll sound blander than if it's closer. Hence the FGN sounds a bit blander at the bridge position than the others.
I have quite a few T-Type guitars, my two least played are made by Fender. My most played is the least valuable of any of them and is a partscaster I made six or seven years ago and is irreplaceable. When it comes to Teles price is by no means the be all and end all.

There are 3 blocky neck joint Teles, and out of the 3, the Squier's tone & build quality it's so obvious. But somehow Pete didn't figure out his lightweight satin neck super rolled CS from the other. So the winner is 🎊Eastcoast T1🎉
LEE!! YOU NEED TO ARRANGE THIS! guitar for under £300, but upgrades for up to the double!
We need one more with Pete & S-style guitars!
as a bedroom guitarist i'm more of esthetic conscious than the brand, body shape and the hs design comes first followed by playability, price then how it actually sounds, that's why no matter how good the price, feel and sounds, brand like suhr, gnl, shecter, prs, sire, are the last options for me, on the other hand i love odd design and hs like puresalem, macmull t style, james tyler or fano
Anything reverse headstock with roasted maple neck/fretboard and I'm sold.
You can tell how a T-style guitar will sound just by looking at the position of the bridge pickup relative to the bridge saddles. If it's spaced more than normal, it'll sound blander than if it's closer.
Hence the FGN sounds a bit blander at the bridge position than the others.
I think that Aria Pro looks looks really rad.
And still my Fender tele with Gibson hum seems to be the best of both worlds.... 😎😎😎
Seen the Victory video. Well done Cap 👍🏻
Now that was entertaining! Well done!!
I'm honestly interested in the culture of these videos as much as the shootouts themselves. A very naughty episode. Me likey :)
Man Pete has just been humbled... Man that was Savage
You guys need to print up shirts that say Andertons, "Does that make sense?"
Really should have had a G&L Lee. Still a great video though. Just would've been cool to have the perspective.
You made my day guys! Thanks!
When are you guys going to test/review the new Orange OR30? Or did I just miss that video?
Where can I get one of those purple classic vibes?
00:39 no truer words
Andertons at its very best +++ Pete is a great sport for doing this. Love it.
So how did blindfolded Pete find the pedals exactly without missing at 3:02?
I have quite a few T-Type guitars, my two least played are made by Fender. My most played is the least valuable of any of them and is a partscaster I made six or seven years ago and is irreplaceable. When it comes to Teles price is by no means the be all and end all.
This is the beginning of the end for that Purple Tele
I love T-style guitars! Great video \m/
After seeing tens of videos with Pete I can't imagine Pete not recognizing a Chapman, a Squier and a Sire ('knowing his guitars, and indeed, see 24:30). BTW I have a Classic Vibe and when that broke down during the pandemic bought a Affinity to replace it, and yes, the CV has a thin, lacquered neck and fretboard, and low action, and the Affinity a thicker one and satin, and I, matter of preference, do like the Affinity one more.
How does a guitar 'break down'? Never had that happen to me.
@@markseymour8365 Stripped screw thread in vintage bridge barrel. On other guitars dead pots, broken output jacks etc. Because of the pandemic replacement screws/barrels were hard to get.
