Winne's flutes and instruments are fantastic worth every cent but not at all affordable. Handmade instruments are time consuming and difficult to make so it is understandable but it breaks the heart to hear his flutes and not be able to buy one. He is a master craftsmen!
Excellent Material!!! Excellent Presentation!!! - - - I say: Overtones are harmonics of the fundamental. They say: What? I explain: To all guitar players, pluck an open string. Briefly touch the string with your finger at midpoint between the nut and bridge. The string will sing out its next higher harmonic.... which is TWICE its frequency. An 'A' string at 440 will jump up to 'A' at 880. We guitarist call this chiming. There are many beautiful chiming points on a guitar string... ...as well as a flute. So... THanks for THinking!
I play the Basque txistu, which is a three-hole overtone flute, so I already understand the concept of blowing harmonics. Might be a good idea to get one of these fujara type flutes as well.
Very nice video and very clear thank you very much :) I am wondering, with the fujara and its 2 extra holes, what are the new notes that can be obtained from each harmonics?
Is playing this as intuitive as whistling? It seems very similar. I'm planning to make something...was planning a didgeridoo...but this is very intriguing.
my pleasure! I am working on new concent. If you want you can help me by support new video making here! www.patreon.com/mesmerizingsounds Feel free! cheers
My friend ONE question> I have a overtone flute but I dont know its key. How hard do I have to blow to know the key? How to know the key Please help!!! Awesome videos by the way, Thanks in advance.....
Great video but can you make a tutorial videos playing only with overtune flute for begginers ? Step by step to learn it. I am really new. Thx for an answer
Ohh... It's "Dreň" I learned about Dogwood recently and thought it's a native American wood species... While it is native to North America, it's also native to the whole of Eurasia and in Japan. What a distinct word by it's mechanical characteristics....
do you use the same tongue techniques for the fujara? and is the trilling, distorted sound on the bigger instruments just a result of being so big or is there other technique making that? thank you!
I have one in key of C, but whole on bottom is too big for one finger to plug, and also the flute itself doesn't seem to have the same sharp resonance with as many tones up and down. I have fujara and play it often as well as didgiroo and many other instruments.
Yes , well there are a lot of overtone flutes outthere that are no properly made and with a bore/lenght ratio that is off, this will give the sound as you discribed
hark hark ! y a même des trolls qui ont cliqué "thumb down"... Pauv'mecs (ou nanas ; quoiqu'y ait moins de chances)... Envie de leur dire : just keep on sucking your own thumbs and live on your imaginary planet. Let us real people live and enjoy living on mother earth, wondering and cheering her countless marvels (like natural sounds...)
Excellent , however I suffer from misophonia and all that smacking you do with your lips in between drives me nuts! Sorry but it made your video very hard to watch for me.

In Finnish language we have a word for them “huiluääni” what basically means flute note.
Thank you so much for this excellent and crystal clear tutorial! ^^
That's great work!!! Wonderful!! Congratulations!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Wow - - - great information on how to use your mouth and breath for playing. I have several flutes and i'm hoping to make one of these
Best lesson!! 🎉
This is amazing. I love the sound!. what would be the pricing range for such an instrument?
Great video! thanks for your dedication and clear explanation. Is there any tutorial about bansuri?
Thanks but nope , not bansuri, don't make or play these myself :-)
Very instructive, thanks very much!
كل عام وانت بخير شكرا جزيلا على الصناعات الجميله الراقيه تسلم ايدك
Very nice video and very clear thank you very much :) I am wondering, with the fujara and its 2 extra holes, what are the new notes that can be obtained from each harmonics?
Thanks, Fujara has 3 holes, with this two octaves in a diatonic major(with some practice minor) scale can be played melodicly.
Wat een prachtig filmpje Winne. En wat een heerlijk geluid.
:-)
Awesome Thank you

yes, just articulation and airpressure
I have 25 Native American Style Flutes but would really like to try one of these . Especially the Bass .
is there a possibility that you can make the blow hole on the side of a smaller flute, just for the looks?
also one extra thing, how does the size / shape of the blow hole change the sound
another world i love so much
Wow, thank you for this video.

perfect! greets from bush!
The perfect tutorial at once!
Thank you !
My pleasure, you really deserve it.
beautiful!!!!!
What about dynamics on the overtone flute? To what degree can you control dynamics on a single note without jumping to the next overtone?
When you have good breath controll you can play with and influence the sound a little, but not much offcourse
Great video how do you know the key? how do you blow? please answer.
Hi just try tp play one of the two softest notes you can, thats the ground note or octave and key the instrument is in :-)
Winne Clement thanks for replying.
do you ever get mold in your flutes?
What song did you play in the beginning?
Sounds like Carpathian music (slovak). What are those melodies you're playing?
melodies are just impro, probably a mixture of a lot of things that my brain made ;-)
Crazy, mostly the big one sounds nice. Btw you from Belgium? Whats that accent?
yup!

How do i find songs to play because most intruments i can find music to play but im having trouble with this one
Great video but can you make a tutorial videos playing only with overtune flute for begginers ? Step by step to learn it. I am really new. Thx for an answer
these tutorials for kavas with breathing and articulation are too same as to overtone flute? because ´´T´´ I already know
when you know 't' you can play the overtone flute , it is very simple and easy just pressure and to get the scale open and close the end, that's it!
can you make some simply songs to excercise it? Maybe i think i know ´´t´´ but i can´t to be true :D
ok, I will see what I can do when I find the time :)
thank you ... i´ll be waiting for it.
Wait... Dogwood? Where can you get it in Slovakia?
Ohh... It's "Dreň" I learned about Dogwood recently and thought it's a native American wood species... While it is native to North America, it's also native to the whole of Eurasia and in Japan. What a distinct word by it's mechanical characteristics....
should be there as well :)
hello i need the flute (5.16) and the bigger one how to order
fujaraflutes.com :))
do you use the same tongue techniques for the fujara? and is the trilling, distorted sound on the bigger instruments just a result of being so big or is there other technique making that? thank you!
the raspy sound is created by the sounddevice and lenght of the tube, but you can use breathing and throat technique to enhance this
@@1fujara thank you! they sound so cool!
Anybody know the coast and where to buy it ? the second one
What's the highest note the overtone flute can play?
depends on how it's made :-)
Do you have any favorite websites for worldwide flute styles with details?
not really, youtube is great ;-) haha
I have one in key of C, but whole on bottom is too big for one finger to plug, and also the flute itself doesn't seem to have the same sharp resonance with as many tones up and down. I have fujara and play it often as well as didgiroo and many other instruments.

In music theory what is this musical scale called?
The natural scale :-)

Yes! That is the kind of flute he plays in this video.

Bas Ruten makes flutes now eh
Basically a tilinkó / tilincă, then
yep same thing :)
Ok! O...…. Thank you!
