Gabriel, I've been subscribed to you since around 4,000, we even had a conversation a few years back about meeting up in India. Either way I just wanted to say it has been amazing watching your channel grow over the years. Even now at 132,000 subscribers, your channel is seriously underrated. You showcase REAL traveling, and are overall just a super genuine/amazing human being. I wish you safe travels my friend, and cant wait to see the channel continue to grow. Peace
Wow, phenomenal video! Thank you so much for putting the work into this! I think it’s one of my new favorites. The gentleman from London (via Bangladesh) seemed like a really cool guy to travel around with. Good, good stuff! 👍🏼✌🏼
Thank you for NOT giving the world another glamping/camel ride video. I have nothing against either but I love when someone gives me a viewpoint from not typical tourist trip in Oman.
Rugged rocky...so nice to see....the sky and everything is so vast...really stunning....different...my goodness I can see why u were tired..hope you are doing well...couldn't get a better video...Thanks
I have been working in Oman for more than 2 yrs now and i want to share with the world vlogs about Oman just started vlogs too on my channel. Thanks for always creating incredible videos👌
Great Vid Gabe ...Never thought about visiting Oman before seeing this ..been to UAE more times than I can remember but never to Oman ...will definitely consider visiting in future
hey, Gabriel. Been watching your channel on and off ever since you did that langtang trek and I gotta say man, the filmmaking in your videos has definitely improved. Not only the camera quality, but the way you take your shots and how information is presented. Keep up the great work!
I wasn't sure if Oman had lived up to your expectations based on the other videos. Its certainly beautiful and interesting, but turned out to be rather expensive and sparse. Then this video. Wow. Incredible. One of my favorites. Definitely have me thinking of a Gulf nations adventure now.
Gabriel, I really loved your video and that Canyon was outstanding..just love all of the honesty and time and love you put into each one of your video's..Always Keep it Real man as I know you will...
Great vlog, Gabriel. These are really making me want to explore the Middle East. How has the internet bring like for uploading? I work remotely while travelling so that’s important for me.
Internet is definitely variable. In the UAE it was the best, Oman was slower, especially in Sohar. Jordan so far is slow as well, but I haven't tried at many places yet.
Amazing video and incredible views..oh man I'd just love to get lost in those alleys near that canyon..That abandoned village was phenomenal...definitely gunna play again that Prince Of Persia Forgotten Sand game on PlayStation tonight :) lucky you experiencing all that in real.
This video should go viral I didn't know Oman is this beautiful, although I am Omani.. but from Muscat. We want you to make a video similar to this one about Muscat.
I didn't pay anything because Sarkey wasn't a guide. He was a tourist who had a rental car and invited me to join him. However I did pay for his dinner as a thank you. And we paid $20 each for the guy who gave us a ride out to the canyon.
Amazing Canyon and very interesting village landscape. Looks like you found good companion for the ride. A Bangladesi /Londoner tourist deep in Oman ? Interesting. The was quite a feast you had at the end but I am not sure how authentic an Omani fare it was. Chicken masala and calamari fry does not sound like it but I am sure you enjoyed it.
Wow i love that castle!! i always prefer to visit and look for a high place as a mountian and castle on hills or montain! )) i feel like i am in ancient movie as Harry Potter hah))
I've been so inspired by all your videos and am now planning my journey. I have been researching a lot lately and I'm hoping for input from you or your followers about how you book your flights from place to place. Do you use open ended or when you're done with a particular destination, do you then buy an onward ticket either to a new destination or back to home destination, etc? Looking to get the most bang for my buck and yo make my journey as long as possible in doing so. Thanks to all in advance!
I book my flights one at a time. Especially if you're flexible with your time and destinations it's the best way to go. Check skyscanner and plug in your departure city and then "Everywhere" to see the cheapest flights to places all over the world. If you're on a specific time schedule then you'll probably want to book flights in advance, but otherwise you can leave them open and book a week or two before you want to fly. There are a few exceptions for countries that require an onward flight to be booked such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Colombia, etc. Before flying to any country you will want to do a little research about the requirements for entry, as well as visas. Have an awesome trip!
Just an off topic FYI: USA citizens can again obtain on arrival and eVisas for Turkey. The USA and Turkey have lifted the ban that went into effect back in October. $20 for multiple entry, 90 days total within a 180 day period. Good news from about 10 days ago👍
I visited Muscat last December and I was looking for a decent Omani restaurant everywhere Bin Ateeq food was really bad experience🤒 I'm from UAE and Emarati food is delicious and available and very easy to find! love your video Thanks for sharing
😂 we have the same dishes just some are with different names. So what are u talking about ?! + it would have been much easier for you if u just asked or searched online for a "decent" restaurants . Same food but more effort in presentation..that's it
Glad you got the chance to see that part of Oman. As you've mentioned in the video, the best way is to rent a car and explore. Btw, that's only 10% of what Oman has to offer :-)
"Oman's rich and Bangladesh's poor, remember that." That might be true, but not all Omani's are rich. Most of the Omani's are drowning in seas of debt just like the westerners. We're no different. Thank you for visiting Oman, Gabriel. I know how frustrating it may be for people to visit Oman. Transportation is probably the most problematic thing, renting a car is the best option for those who are thinking about visiting Oman.
If you ever find yourself in Ibra (North Sharqiya), please feel free to contact me. I will be able to help you get accommodation and other things at reasonable prices and if possible, I might even give you a tour of Ibra and the places around. Loved your videos.
I saw notice board saying "make sure you are wearing long skirts and cloths" , but your friend with you is wearing shorts - is it fine in Middle east or no ?
Salalah was a long way out of the way. Accommodation was too expensive in Oman so I decided to hop over to Jordan. Not exactly cheap but there are good deals on rooms at least.
Great video. I'm curious to know if you've ever had to seek medical attention during your travels and what that experience was like. Also, what travel insurance do you have. I assume it's an annual policy. Maybe think about doing a short video on travel insurance and your experience using it.
Hi, here's an old video about travel insurance. ruclips.net/video/MSpz0K3rIlU/видео.html I'm still using the same company. Luckily I've never had to get medical attention while traveling. That would not be a fun experience in a lot of places.
Pretty much. I think those guys might hang around that area where we parked offering rides to tourists. We just happened to pull into that spot though to try and figure out where we were and which way to go from there. Basically it was lucky timing it seemed.
Surprised the 4x4 driver didnt recognise yr name more easily ... Gabriel ...in the Muslim world is pronounced - Jibril IE The Angel Gabriel in Islam is referred to as - Angel Jibril

It is one of his better ones I've seen. Obviously haven't seen all just some of the countries I've been to or am interested in.
That canyon was pretty epic... the buildings around this place are very interesting also... was Starky just visiting there also?
Great job on the extended video. A wonderful day of exploring. Your friend has a great sense of adventure as well. Thank you. Safe travels.

Gorgeous landscape. Reminds me of southern Utah around Moab. Oman seems like an excellent travel destination.
Barb It is. You will absolutely enjoy it.
Very beautiful video.

What you have showed doesn't exceed 10% of the beauty of Muscat
I'm sure that's true.

great video!!
that was some amazing scenery! btw how do you find the difference in living standard between Oman and Jordan?
Living standards in Oman and UAE are definitely a lot higher.
Gabe you remind me of a dashing young Lawrence of Arabia. Now all you need is a Keffiyeh to wear on ya head to seal the deal.
J. Rod fuck lawrence

could you go to jebel shams? it is a restricted area and you need permissions. I believe it snows sometimes in jebel shams

Chetan Khatri women tourists sometimes wear too short and it bothers the locals. It's a matter of respect that's all .
Sa-lam a lay koom! or wa-lay koom sa lam! Ive forgotten already 😄😰
Hey Gabriel, im travelling to the US sometime around August this year and i have a couple of questions. Do you have an email i could contact you on?
Would you mind sharing what video editing softwares you use? Thanks in advance!
Videopad.
Why you didn't went to Salalah? And there are also a few islands which belong to Oman.
Salalah was a long way out of the way. Accommodation was too expensive in Oman so I decided to hop over to Jordan. Not exactly cheap but there are good deals on rooms at least.

No, I have a bunch of longer ones:
ruclips.net/video/HH9RtNFOrk8/видео.html
Was that sheer luck that you found someone to take you to the top of the canyon?
Pretty much. I think those guys might hang around that area where we parked offering rides to tourists. We just happened to pull into that spot though to try and figure out where we were and which way to go from there. Basically it was lucky timing it seemed.
Fantastic.
When will you visit Saudi Arabia?

Thanks there, Gabe. Hope you are considering the Outback of Australia for ya next destination. As you may already know, it has very trippy geography.
Hi Gabriel
I so love your channel, i have been watching most of your video's so far since a couple of weeks now.it started with the vids from Greece.
I needed to see some sunny vids because it's wintertime in the Netherlands right now and I was searching for Paros and came across your channel.By the way I made a booking via the link Booking.com you mentioned for a $20 (€15) discount , so thxs a lot☺ If i'm correct but i am not sure you will get the same amount too for referring ,so viewers use the link for your upcoming travels! Safe travels and greetings from Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Great, glad you're enjoying them. Yes I should get $20 too so it's definitely a win-win. Petra, cool name, didn't know it was also Dutch.
Amazing video
Did u get to go to Salalah??
No, I didn't go there.

Khasab to see too. U can camp on the beach there
There's definitely a lot more to see in Oman. Next time maybe I'll explore the country more thoroughly.
