Hey guys! In this video I'll be showing you these AMAZING places we found when looking to see Vikos Gorge: Oxya Viewpoint, Papingo town, Voidomatis River. We totally didn't expect to see such incredible places.
This is one of my favorite places in Greece and you should totally put it in your bucket list if you're traveling to Greece by car.
Vikos Gorge, a stunning natural wonder in Greece, is a place that will take your breath away with its incredible beauty. Found in the Epirus region, Vikos Gorge is one of the deepest and longest gorges in the world, making it a paradise for nature lovers and hikers.
As you approach Vikos Gorge, you'll be amazed by the towering cliffs that have been shaped by the river over countless years. The rugged limestone walls create a majestic and impressive sight that demands your attention.
Exploring Vikos Gorge is like entering a different world. There are hiking trails that wind through the gorge, guiding you on an exciting adventure through untouched nature and stunning landscapes. Along the way, you'll be surrounded by the lush greenery of the Vikos-Aoos National Park, which is home to a wide variety of plants and animals.
The views from inside the gorge are simply breathtaking. From certain spots, you can look out over the deep ravine and marvel at the sheer beauty of the natural surroundings. The crystal-clear waters of the Voidomatis River flow through the gorge, adding a peaceful touch and creating picturesque scenes that are perfect for capturing with your camera.
If you're up for a challenge, there are more difficult hiking routes that take you deep into the heart of the gorge. These trails allow you to fully immerse yourself in the wild beauty of Vikos Gorge as you navigate steep cliffs and rocky paths. When you reach the end of the trail, the feeling of accomplishment is truly rewarding, and the memories of the stunning scenery will stay with you forever.
The nearby traditional villages, like Monodendri and Vikos, give you a taste of local life. Here, you can experience genuine Greek hospitality, savor delicious local food, and learn about the rich culture of the region.
