Impressed (and envious)by the amount of machinery you have. I have home built one Duratec and several Pinto engines, I need to build another Duratec so thanks for the build video.
Like how RUclips's subtitles describe the noise of the injector test as either 'music' or 'applause' depending on the speed they're running at! 🙂 Great video again.
Love watching these James. I always used to use a big wedge out of my missus's Vaseline pot to prime the oil pump 😁. I did clean my hands first😂. I love that snap on torque wrench mate that wasn't cheap was it. BTW I spy a Lotus twink on the bench!
Another great informative video! I hope to get my engine back by this weekend…all going well. I will have to get some advice from you when I have it on what to do while it has been on its side for 3 months! I will PM you closer to the time
I am really enjoying the transformation from the old shop to the new shop a special the engine build area. The make up artists are doing a great job on you ( Hollywood) BUT the audio for a old colonial like me is very echoy in the engine assembly room. Keep up the good work Kit from down under
Can you do a Zetec or ST170 build. The brown block behind you when your building the duratec looks like a Zetec/ST170 block. The engine behind you in the engine room too looks like a Zetec too.
@@graceenginedevelopments Thank you. Im really intrested in seeing a built Zetec done as there isnt many videos detailing this on youtube. Great in depth video on the duratec 👍
This video is a fantastic resource - thanks for taking the time to share it. I have a question regarding balancing. It looks you installed a fresh set of the factory cast pistons and rods. Did you also have to balance those? I ask because I've heard it's a pain to separate the factory rods from the pistons, as the wrist pin is pressed in.
@@graceenginedevelopments One more question: do you use ARP rod bolts with the factory cast rods? Some have suggested that they distort the rods too much (relative to Ford bolts). What has your experience been? Thank you!
Fantasic vid there was engrossed from start to finish 👍 one question though i was told its not possible to skim an Duratech HE/Mazda L head as theres not enough meat on them before they go out of tolerance? In fact its what sent my Mondy to thr scrapper and i couldn't find anyone willing to resurface the head in my area🤷😡
Very educational video for me personally, I have a renewed appreciation for how big of a job doing this is! Engine looks mint, do you know how much power the customer was hoping to make out of it? If you don't mind me asking- how many hours did this take and what was the build cost? Great channel keep up the good work 👍
Thank you, I'm not sure on power I need to contact the customer and ask how he's getting on with it. I'm not sure on the hours but I'm filming 2 engines at the moment and logging hours.. price for that was about 4k
How much to do this on my st150 id have to bring the car to you, and you remove the engine and if you could supply and fit a whole rebuild like this, how much all in please
So basically calling the customer to say hey buddy I know you tried to help buying all the parts first but most of them we don't need you'll have to buy them all again
Great content as always... my morning programme during breakfast,,,,
Thanks Steve.

little gems of information when rebuilding stands you out from the rest a pleasure to watch thanks for another brilliant video
Thank you.
Loving the long build videos makes you appreciate the skill of building a engine properly keep them coming 😊
Thanks Matthew, we will.
Really enjoyed this one James, thanks for sharing
Thanks David, no worries
You must have a million quids worth of machinery , nice videos.😊
Thanks Bob. We got a few now. Still want more

fantastic job.....ultrasonic bath works well
Thanks Mike, yes it does.. very noisy though I need to move it somewhere.
👍👍 Another great engine build.
Thanks Graham, hope you guys are ok
Another brilliant vlog mate its absolutely fantastic watching a true professional engine builder. please keep the videos coming
Thanks Craig.. we will I'm thinking of another midweek just chatting about what's in.
Awesome stuff! Takes a lot of experience to make a great engine!
Thanks John.
Fab! I learned a lot of generic engineering info from your video. For example, about torque angle.👍
Thanks Roy, I'm glad you found it helpful.
Nice job lots of old school techniques I love your attention to detail and mega degree of cleanliness 👍
Thanks Stephen 👍🏁
Great video James, its made me think to check the injectors on my XKR.
It's worth doing, I did a set today they were shocking to start with.
Another brilliant video!
Thanks Kevin
Gr8 vid thanks mate i will like to watch more builds regarding ford
I'm filming a pinto at the moment

Kit from down under
Thanks Kit, Tracy has brought me some microphones so I’ll use them soon, the lighting don’t seem great in there as well.
Excelente video 😮

Thanks cuz
Bit behind at the moment watching from Ekatherineburg in Russia .

When you use the crank balancer I wish you would use the 2 safety arms,,,, just in case something goes pear shaped,,,, 🙏🙏
The belt pulls it down so it won't go far.. I should use them though.. I'll try and remember
Nice work mate 👍🏻
I’m guessing more OEMs are going over to girdle mains so they can machine in situ and save build time?
Thanks mate.. save time and money mate
more of sam on the vids hes great
I'll tell him.

@@graceenginedevelopments One more question: do you use ARP rod bolts with the factory cast rods? Some have suggested that they distort the rods too much (relative to Ford bolts). What has your experience been? Thank you!
They didn't move on this set.. but I have known them too
@@graceenginedevelopmentsSorry, not sure what you mean by “move”?
I mean by going out of round and needed capping and resizing.

Hello. I own an Fiesta ST from 2006. The car is currently on 116k miles and burning oil, I’ve checked everything on engine, how can I fix that issue?
@@yak7979 when is it burning oil? Can you see it smoking and if so when
@@graceenginedevelopments I can see the smoke coming from exhaust on full gas
Id say a strip down and look at the bores and rings
I've got a volvo s40 with duratec engine and the same problem. Around 117k . Rings gone. Getting all the parts before start stripping it down.
Remember to check the bore for wear
How much to do this on my st150 id have to bring the car to you, and you remove the engine and if you could supply and fit a whole rebuild like this, how much all in please
Hi. I'm sorry but we don't work on cars, just the engine, you would need to bring the engine into us removed.
@@graceenginedevelopments okay no worries what this rebuild cost with all supplied and fitted please
@TonyW3bb95 it depends on spec, around 5k
Haha good try , I guess its spanner time 😀

We used most of his parts.
