Hey man, love this video. I just got a GoPro hero 11 black and was going to try to take some videos on my Michigan pheasant hunts. I plan on getting a hat mount and shotgun mount and switching them back and fourth to see what I like better but I don’t know all the specs to get the best shot and all that. What settings do you recommend? Or any other tips or anything you might have ? Thanks!
Have you looked into GoPros hindsight feature? You can set it and it was actually capture 15-30 before you hit the record button. It does drain the battery but less than full on recording and it’s less footage to have to go through.
I have found a better way to mount to the hat is to punch a hole through the bill of the cap feed the tabs through the hole and then run a bolt in nut through the tab to keep the camera in place. If you use 3 nuts - One in the middle between the two tabs and two outside of each tab. I use an 1.25" bolt and cut the hole backside of center of the bill. Hole is just big enough to run the tabs through. Much less weight and rides a bit lower so better center of gravity.

@@StandingStoneKennels Hi, usually, when I film with the camera on my hat the picture would tilt to the right as I'm take aim at the target (my head tilts), how do you avoid that? Is it through post-processing? Thanks!
Great question. I edit with iMovie...I used to use Final Cut a long time ago but back then it was complex and had more than I needed. The thing about iMovie though is that it exports in 30 fps so setting your fps to a higher level doesn't really do much. You might as well take the resolution over the fps..as long as you use the disk space. My hero 9 with a 128 gig only lasts about 3 hours. Hope this helps.
You can control your camera through your phone, but you actually have a shotgun in that hand. So, you let it run-yes it is a pain to edit. When I finish a 3 hour hunt I have 4 hours of film (B Roll and after-action report)..buy multiple batteries and an Ankar if necessary.
I have a gopro 10 going try self film this year how close does deer have to be to see it and can you zoom in footage off a gopro after you put it in PC
So are you recording in normal video and then going into the editing software and making it slomo? Just getting into filming some hunts and I’m completely new .

As for video settings I use the highest quality on auto! Both head mounted and gun mounted can create a cool shot!

A crappy one TBH! They now make hats with built in frames for the cameras! Much much better all the way around.

When the camera is on your hat do you shoot in linear/ wide/ superview etc?

im following this comment! where im at i usually shoot deer between 25 yards-175 and I'm curious about how good the footage will be that far away
