Amen, the lightly obscure falling down path and shootable switch in the Courtyard's starting area that at least resembles a switch you've already used before don't have crap on the random wall decoration that leads to the exit.
Excellent video! It was entertaining to watch your opinions and it was amazingly edited. The only thing that might be a negative is there not being a visual for the rankings until the end.
I didn't hate any of the Doom 2 levels, but yeah on a first playthrough there is lots of just... Unintuitive parts Ended up googling once or twice which is a shame, and the levels really did not play to the strengths of the engine (e.g. high verticality above enemies where they look like walking pieces of paper)
Probably the most "unique" is at the bottom of my list, because I don't think a Doom map should be that cryptic. Save something like that for optional secrets.
I think the impression a level makes on someone is too much of a personal thing. It depends on what mood, age or gaming level you were when you played it. You remember the feeling, the mood, and the dire situations you were in. I played Doom 2 only after having played puzzle games like Tetris and Solitaire so it was all new to me. I love every Doom 2 level the same. :)
Excellent video! ..Just 1 question though; Why do you pronounce the last word of every sentence the same way? Did someone teach you? You're not the only youtuber who does this, but to me it's unbelievably annoying
It’s annoying to play through due to feeling like you going over the same ground repeatedly and not intuitive as to what the next step is. but somehow it’s always been memorable to me. I think because it’s the first time in what feels like a really big space
Seeing the PC levels just makes me realise how much better The Playstation version is. Sure this is faster and smoother and Some of the PS levels are cut down, but it just looks naff on PC. It doesn't have any of the atmosphere or feeling of Hell that the PS has.
Cant believe this doesn’t have any more views. Really fun entertaining watch.
I appreciate that!
Nice, I generally agree with the rankings of the level. The Spirit World deserve to be in the darkest pits of level design hell.

Top 5:
The Living End
The Citadel
Tricks And Traps
The Crusher
Circle of Death
Bottom 5:
The Chasm
The Focus
Barrels Of Fun
Icon Of Sin
The Catacombs
Respectable choices.
I like this series and hope to see more retro games' maps rated by you! Hell imagine if you did this for... YPOD! :P
I'd consider it, but interest should justify the effort. :D

Neat! Gonna listen to this tomorrow while I map.
Hope you enjoy it.
So you literally went from heaven straight to the mouths of hell and came out of it smell of doom!
That comment was more intense than a Hell on Earth, it was the Ultimate of statements, a truly Final word.
Nice list. Pretty much agree with everything. Except penultimate means 2nd last.
Ah, right. Guess The Living End is just the penultimate map, period. For some reason, I thought penultimate meant final at the time. XD

100% subjective, I'm sure there are people who love the Spirit World. :P
Underated video,sadly
I'm glad you like it.
He forgot how Tricks and Traps has the BFG! Def a treat amongst all the tricks
Oh, I know it has the BFG but I just didn't bring it up.
Penultimate generally means second to last, not final.
Yeah, my bad, I had no clue what that meant when I made this. XD

I'm not sure what you mean, by that. I just speak how I normally speak.
Downtown my favorite Doom 2 map.
That's fair.

Maybe, but I think Doom 64 has the benefit of graphics and levels tailored around that atmosphere.
What about the level Betray?
I didn't think to do it since I was only doing PC version maps. It's dead last, because it's pretty terrible. Only slightly better than Sewers.
Sure, why not 👍
To doing more rankings? :)
@@VGamingJunkieVT Ya.
@@rautamiekka
I'll think about it, these aren't easy to put together. XD
@@VGamingJunkieVT Yeah they ain't, I can tell without making one myself.
Penultimate means second to last
Ah, thank you for correcting me.
The piiiiiiiiiiit
Yes, the pit. XD
The fact that the gameplay behind makes you sble to aim is disturbing
Personally, I prefer to have free aim and rely less on the hit or miss auto-aim.
