      I love using gouache because of the velvety finish and the way you can reactivate it for touch-ups and blending. I do recommend using a fixative to seal it once it's done because I've had to fix paintings that were accidently smudged due to water spills. Oops. Please do more gouache videos!

      @thaneeya  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for the tip about fixative! 💖 I bought a jar of Dorland's Wax Medium to seal it but haven't tried it yet. I'm happy to hear that you'd like me to make more gouache videos, because I'm having so much with this medium!! 😍

      @@thaneeya I've used Dorland's Wax on some pieces but it does leave a slight residue. Buffing it with a soft cloth helps. Try testing it out on scraps first.

    I love the vibrancy of the moth. I have only used gouache on 2 paintings (realistic landscapes). For gouache I definitely prefer flats, filberts and angled brushes. I love watercolor, so obviously I use round brushes for this media. I enjoy the ability to add layers of opaque color, with the gouache. Both mediums are fun. I also take my time with details in all my artwork. My realistic watercolor, gouache and colored pencil take many, many hours to just make one creation..I don’t mind it.👩‍🎨🎨🥰

      Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences with gouache and watercolor! 😊 Both mediums are so fun to work with. I'm enjoying getting to know gouache better. It's nice to hear from someone who also spends many, many hours on a single artwork and enjoys getting immersed in the details. Happy Art-Making!! 😃🎨💕

    What a lovely moth! You are so skilled even with a new medium! 😮 When you said Flat, it reminded me that gouache was first used for commercial story boarding because it was flat! Think 50's and 60's Advertising Firms!

    I loved the super vibrant colors, my dreams are more like gauche than acrylic. I will definitely be using gauche in my near future. Now I have seen this gauche set, I know what level I can rate my dream vibrancy. I think I was drawn to your content by your thumbnail because the colors you use are a lot like I used to color and draw as a child. I don't know when I let that vibrant color palette go for sure but I believe it was when I had a teacher badger me and at some point throw my art piece away at 9 years old in 4th grade.
    That was a very hard year for me already, and her personality and attitude caused me to focus less on school work. I am not sure if that's the response she expected because it made me draw more things I saw instead of my dreams and imagination to get away from focusing on her, but it did not stop my drawings.
    The teacher next year tried to help me into the gifted and talented program, which would have solved my classroom bordem. The only reason that 4th grade was hard was because I had to figure everything out in that class by myself. I was then glad we had different subject teachers. This is what got her caught. Her subjects were my lowest grades ever.
    Anyways, now I think back I had left colorful drawings that year. They no longer had rainbows in them until for a brief moment in the next grade before my family moved at the start of 5th. Now, my art is slowly getting different levels of vibrancy, and I finally found my time of artistic freedom of expression. Your art reminded me of what had fallen out of my original art style. I enjoy your videos and always watch the videos of my subscribed channels to the end, even if it is divided in halves or 4ths. Thank you for sharing, You! 🤗❤️👍🏽💯

      It's great that you're reconnecting with your original colorful artistic style! I'm happy that my colorful thumbnails attracted you to my channel. Gouache is a lot of fun to work with, and with gouache you can paint all the bright vibrant colors that you dream of! 😍 Go for it and always create the kind of art that YOU want to create!! 😃🎨🌟

    Super job! You learned a lot with just one painting which is helpful to everyone unfamiliar with gouache. Holbein brand is one of the best and yes, newer supplies have a creamier consistency. I agree and prefer trying different styles and techniques. Quite often I use colored pencils for details over the gouache.
    Also, I'm curious if anyone else experienced an excessive amount of intrusive ads throughout this video... they showed up around every 4 minutes (or less!) which really rattles my ADHD focus issues.

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks so much for your comment! 😃 I appreciate the confirmation that newer gouache has a creamier consistency. I bought a watercolor medium to see if that helps with the consistency (instead of just adding water). I'm really enjoying gouache so far! Can't wait to try more artworks with colored pencils on top, too! I think that might be a good technique for adding fur... 😍
