Hi! New subscriber here 😊 I’m a Filipina residing in the UK and have been dreaming of owning Holbein paints for a while! I was originally inlove with watercolours but I have been watching gouache artists’ paintings more and more lately. I’ve only ever used Himi gouache and although I liked it, I wasn’t exactly won over enough to keep exploring gouache. With that very long info, I found some sales here in the UK for Holbein gouache and finally took that step into owning a set! I saw your channel and was very impressed with your painting! I’ll keep watching and hopefully I fall in love with gouache too. Awesome channel by the way ❤
I actually bought the 18 gouache set because the paint looked so nice to work with in your videos ☺ It is pricey here in Europe but the colors are sooo vibrant and pigmented that it is worth it to me :) Thank you for your recommendations !
After the holidays I'm finally able to save up for some more gouache from Holbein. Definitely picking up the Japonica Yellow, Pale Coral smoked bamboo, elm green and Bellflower. I'm a sucker for rich earthy colors as well as a bit of brightness in the works. The bright colors come in so handy for touches of highlights. Love how your piece turned out!
I have the 12 set of 5ml size. There are times when I wish I had other colors, but most of the time I’m able to mix what I need with them. I was just using them last night to paint a landscape. :) I do want to try the Acrylic Gouache, because sometimes I muddy my colors when I reactivate the layers underneath.
That was my very first set! I still have some tubes from it. Yes, more colors are nice to have but they are so high quality that you can basically mix any color with them! I will be making a video about the acryla gouache soon too and yes it will help to not reactivate old layers!
this looks incredible! I'd love to try out holbein paints one day, you're right they're pretty pricey in europe though, that's why I've stuck with winsor & newton. Also, how did I never realise the fancy holbein sets were based on seasons?? 😮😂😂
They are quiet pricey in Europe but very understandable! Winsor and newton is very similar! i think they only noticeable difference is the consistency because W&N comes out more runny than the Holbeins! Yes the Irodori sets are based on their seasons! I don't know about how buyers view gouache vs acrylics and oil paintings if I'm being honest. I personally love the matte look of gouache paintings more but I do know they are more vulnerable because they are water activated. And yes I do sell them sometimes

If i love them i am golden😊👍🏾👋🏾. I,ve painted whit the himi miya gouache set before but that was a small set i bought from alliexpress. The holbein gouache is super expensive in the netherlands at amazone. For a 18 colour set its 64 euro,s. Omg thats super expensive. I love painting whit my watercolour brushes from the brand Bomeijia. I bought 5 diffrent sets of watercolour brushes on alliexpress so i don,t need more brushes😊. They are my favoriet brushes and the hold so mutch water. They have a long wooden handle too. I love you,re brushes too 😊👍🏾👋🏾🥰🎨👋🏾I love you,re holbein gouache painting off Aurora 👋🏾👍🏾🖼🎨🥰😁

She is using artist gouache. The acryla is more like acrylic and does not rewet easily or at all.
