    i got recommended holbein acryla gouache from a art supply store, i told him i wanted to conquer painting because i never enjoyed it so he suggested holbein. after testing out the couple of tubes i brought i never looked back and now have a pretty decent collection of them. they have made painting fun for me. the drying super fast can be a bit challenging when you want to go back in with a previous colour, but that can be fixed with a wet pallet

    Layering! This is how I work on my miniatures :) A wet palette really helps with acrylics and can keep things active for a few days or more depending on your climate. You still need to wash your brushes well though. A wash and a rinse cup can also help get them cleaner while working. Lovely painting.

    I got my set for free from one of my college art classes a while back which I’m so glad about, though I’ve had to buy a big tube of white since that stuff goes fast. Otherwise a little really does go a long way.

    I cannot actually believe the cost difference at discovery japan vs. buying them at art stores in Canada/amazon. I'm in shock that a whole 24 tube set of 20 ml is under 100CAD. Literal shock lol. If I bought x24 tubes at my local I'd be spending $240+++ Thank you so much for this tip I'm so stupidly excited right now haha!!! New sub your work is goals 😅

    When painting with traditional acrylics i usually find it easier to clean my pallet after it is dry. i just spray some water and let it sit for a few minutes, then it peels off entirely. I wonder why acrylic gouache is not the same.

    • @hambot
      @hambot  4 месяца назад +2

      For me it depends on the mixing palette i use and also how long it has been dry before I clean it. Some mixing palettes repel them easily but then some just are almost impossible to clean after :c Also I just need to be better at cleaning up right away for sure!

    • @RafaelDrumondRego

      @@hambot I understand. Have you tried using Glass Pallets? I make them using cheap portrait frames. They are incredibly easy to clean (and can be really cheap).

    I love Acryla Gouache, i was hesitating to try it because ihave acrylics and i thought it would be more like acrylic like gouache, but no, not quite. It really feels like gouache. I do have to say though - porcelain palette is the worst choice for working with them. something in porcelain makes it dry way too fast. I cant be bothered with the hassle of stay wet palette so i switched to was paper palettes and even that works better, keeps the moisture for long enough.

    When I was experimenting with gouache, I tried adding it with acrylic paint and I can say that it's interesting that gouache can't be reactivated. It's hard though to balance the matteness when it dries so I'm thinking that maybe holbein artist gouache is interesting to try!

    • @SarahFletcher12
      @SarahFletcher12 4 месяца назад

      It can be if it’s traditional gouache. It probably didn’t reactivate for you since you mixed it with acrylic… why did you add acrylic?

    Do HolBein Acryla gouache dry with a texture? Or can it? Or does it self level? I am looking for acrylic paint that does do that.
