    DON'T GIVE UP!
I watched your video. I find it informative and easy to follow. Thank you!
I did not have any ice buildup, just a thin coat on the underside. My freezer was purchased in Nov. 2019 and stopped producing ice.
I completed the steps to do a hard reset. When pressing the internal reset button, I was getting different responses over a couple days: a second chime after three minutes, no second chime, and no first chime. I gave up.
However, about four days later we heard ice dropping. It was making ice again, after maybe 8 days! It's been working for the past four days so far. 🤞
Update: The ice maker is still working perfectly 2 months later!!

Great info, thanks. I just called Samsung and had no problems. They did tell me that I was such a "valuable Samsung customer", they would fix if at no cost. I called yesterday and the tech called and will be here tomorrow.

Thats great! Some folks have been saying here the tech has been lowering the water pressure for the icemaker as well. I did not know about this before I had mine replaced and I dont think they did it. Id be sure to ask about that when the tech is there. Hope this helps. Thank you!

Thanks for the video. I recently purchased a home and after just two months, the ice maker wouldn't make ice. I watched several videos, including yours, and I had to defrost the ice maker and it was then ok. I've had to do this 3 times in as many months. I'll call Samsung and see what happens. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again !

I contacted Samsung. At first they said the warranty had expired. I told them I heard about a recall on this model. They said they would call back. The next day I made an appointment, and they replaced the entire unit and although I wasn't watching everything, they also sealed part of the ice maker. It's been two weeks, and there's no more ice buildup !!! Thanks again JustaDude !!!

Yes! Please show us what happens when the service person comes to repair this problem. :) I followed your previous video on how to use Fd to thaw the icemaker enough to get the tray out and then thaw the rest with a hair dryer (mid Aug 2022). I plan to monitor my icemaker, because it sounds like it will ice up again. If/when it does, I will plan to call Samsung to do this same repair. Thx!

They came and fixed it. They were only in the house for about 20 mins. Its frosted over once since they’ve replaced it. I think it was because the kids left the door open though. Ive also heard the tech are turning the water pressure down on the ice maker too which is helping out.

URGENT! Listen to this guy and follow his instructions! I called Samsung on March 14th, 2024. The Tech just left my house, no cost for labor or parts for today's repair. Today is March 20th, 2024. The only difference was Samsung didn't give me any problems or hard time when I called, so be pleasant and polite. My Refrigerator was purchased in 2017 and Samsung told me my warranty expired 2019. Still no problem.

I'm having the same trouble with my Samsung French door unit. I bought it in 2018. I did buy the extended warrantee which paid to replace the ice maker in 2021. However, it now is failing again. The ice making area has froze up at least twice this month alone. I also think it is freezing up too, in the back of the refrigerator under the panel (Twin Cooling). The refrigerator makes a high pitched humming noise which stops when I open the door. Saw other videos on that problem as well. Do you think the new Samsung's being sold in 2023 are finally now fixed? Crazy but I really like the style of the refrigerator and would love to just replace it with a new one. I heard a repair runs about $700 for that problem and a new unit cost about $2300 on sale today makes $$ sense to just replace it. So not sure if I would be extra foolish to buy another? What's anyone's opinion on that? The other refrigerator's features are just not as nice... and maybe they don't have all the issues Samsung has?

    • @JustaDude123

It works. It still freezes over from time to time. I think its because they did not turn the water pressure down when they replaces the ice maker. Its definitely worth the call though. Sorry its taken so long to get the update video out.

I completely understand but this was pretty easy in the world of warranty repairs. After going through it my self, I should have called 1-800-SAMSUNG years ago. What they did was come in, unplug the ice maker, pull it out and out a new one in. Weren’t in the house for more than 30 mins. Hope this helps.

Great question. The technician came over, and removed the old icemaker. He pulled the ice tray out and then removed the icemaker bin that is attached to the fridge. Put a new one in then left. It works great except when the door is accidentally left open for a period of time.
