Our Samsung French door-style fridge was installed in October 2013 and has that same model of icemaker. When it quit making ice last week, I ordered a new icemaker from the Samsung parts distributor after confirming the correct part number (I asked for a discount and they knocked 10% off their price of $154). It arrived Saturday morning so I removed the factory one and compared it to the new one. Just as you pointed out in your video, the ice tines in the factory one were stuck in the "down" position. I installed the new one, we waited several hours, and sure enough ice started being produced again. Thanks for your very helpful video. It shows that this really is an easy fix for anyone willing to tackle the job.
My ice maker stopped a week ago, however the water dispenser continues to work. Did you experience this same issue? My Model is RF4287HARS/XAA sounds like you may have a similar model, if so, could you tell me the part number you ordered? Thank you
@@dramyankee2914 When our icemaker failed, the water dispenser continued to function properly. The replacement icemaker I ordered is part no. DA97-07365G. Before ordering, you should call Samsung and verify this icemaker is correct for your refrigerator model.
I have an RF267 series made in 2010. I had ice buildup on the icemaker itself and ice in the collection bucket from water running into it. Do I need to replace the icemaker?
Hello thanks for the video. I just want to make sure of something. I have that same refrigerator. My ice maker is not producing ice. I hit the test switch. I hear a chime and that’s it. My water pressure is fine. Can it be the ice maker ?
Did anyone try the reset button under the blue or gray rubber protection cover on the left upper side ice maker shown in picture? Push and hold the reset for 8 seconds or until they hear the beep. Indicating the Forced Defrost cycle and ejection finger relocation set. Design flaw nylon motor gear slip when ice jammed. Fixed mine twice now by pulling the two motor mounting screws . Pulling the motor out slightly disengaging the gear and rotating the fingers back to home position and then reinserting the motor . Been a free fix for me twice now on my Samsung rf28r7201sr//aa
I took the old Samsung icemaker apart, just to see what actually broke inside. The broken plastic gears that turn the forks and the plastic gear coming out of the servo motor have got to be made out of the cheapest plastic I have ever seen. Samsung should be embarrassed for selling such cheaply made garbage in a refrigerator that cost $2000-3000. We are fools to keep buying this overpriced junk. Our next refrigerator is going to be a simple, basic white top freezer Frigidaire With no icemaker or water dispenser.

i can not get icemaker to snap back into place... aaggghhh, it's about 1/8 inch away from snapping, nothing seems to be blocking in back...
