Exactly my problem. I figured line was plugged but wouldn't have guessed in the freeser on that tube. You are awesome for taking time to film this and share info on the problem. Thanks a million!
This video was a great help! I changed the water valve and then wound up changing the icemaker itself when it still didn't fill with water. For a total of about $75 I fixed an otherwise good working refrigerator and saved over $2k to replace it.
So appreciative of you sharing this video! A broken ice maker meant I had no other choice but to buy a new one now. However, saw this video and followed the steps and the frozen ice in the tube was the exact problem. Instead of the warm water solution, I used a hair dryer and actually saw the clump of frozen ice move slowly down the tube! Also, the tip for using a jumper between T and H terminals was priceless as the ice maker wasn't turning until I did that step. All in all, the fridge is back in business with around 30 minutes of work on a Sunday morning! Big THANKS!
Thanks for the video I was able to remove mine to find out it was frozen not allowing the parts to turn and dump the cubes, I let it thaw reinstalled and works fine now:)
Thanks for posting this video. My ice maker quit about a week ago. I've been trying to get it out ever since. Turns out it was frozen in on the right side. The comment about the screw in the back holding the cover for the electrical connectors helped. I'd already removed it and it was still stuck. I applied some heat with a heat gun and melted enough ice to let it slip out. The ice maker is frozen solid. I will let it thaw overnight in the sink and try it again tomorrow.
How did you remove and place back the dispenser cover at 0:06 and 11:32? It seems there is a missing screw on the left side of mine because it is unbalanced now. Is there something on the left side that was removable or is it just technique in placing the cover back?
This was a great, short video that might not fix everyone's icemaker, but it worked for mine. I just needed the patience and to make sure I was following your directions. I never realized the importance of the 'wire jumper'. I was skeptical at first, as it didn't seem to make a difference, but low and behold it started making ice again. Well done, Sir!
@@wahoozaI had the same question, but I just found an old light fixture in my garage, and cut a bit of wire off it. I used a wire stripper to pull off the plastic coating, and used that as the jumper wire. It worked perfectly.

Thanks I thought my icemaker was bad so I bought a new one and it worked for about a day I sent it back to Amazon and they sent me a replacement same thing. So now I know it’s not the icemaker at all it’s the valve probably. So I will check into that and get a new valve thank you!
Thanks to the poster great video of course I have some questions: - when I put the cable on jumper wire between T & H the motor moves but stops immediately when I remove it. How do I get it to keep running? - how did you pop off the cover that flops up and down? Mine fridge seems narrow than the one in the video so it may be a different model (I have a narrow model fridge to fit in the space the builder made too small). With that being said, on the left side the square cover my fridge has a diagram showing that I should have a metal lever to turn on (when down) or off (when up) but I don't have that switch (I have the one on the side of the freezer). Could my question 1 be related to that?
Thanks much for this informative video. Our ice maker stopped working a few days ago, and after pricing new refrigerators today, I decided to give a repair a try. After resetting and jumping as you suggest, my ice maker isn't moving at all. It's getting power and it heats up almost too hot to touch (heating element for ice release, I assume) but no movement. I ordered a new ice maker today. FYI, your affiliate links go to items listed as "Currently unavailable," but I was able to find an OEM ice maker. Would have preferred to support you for your help. Might want to check on that.
Thank you for posting this video, I had the same problem. I used a blow dryer to defrost the ice build up and noticed that the sidewall was deforming. I would be careful when defrosting the ice build-up close to the side wall. Now my icemaker has a new pump and is working again.
Yes be careful when using those. If that is the only thing you have to thaw it, I get it but just have to be careful. If you want to do this for a reason you want to get a steamer. Works great! Anyways, Glad to help my friend!
I had left a msg with a question but did a further search and found a guy who actually new how to teach using a video. You might update your video to include how to release the ice maker by removing the plastic piece on the back right side and the little release tab on the left side underneath. Not everybody works on these things for a living. Good info could have been GREAT had you mentioned these couple of items. Thanks again AdamDIY
My bad on missing that for you. I decided to make the video on this after that was already removed. I don’t plan these things out. I notice part of the way through that this would be good for my RUclips channel. I am not a professional RUclipsr so thanks for the criticism. I will take it humbly and try to make these better for you in the future. At the very end of the video it shows me putting it back on though. It’s a long video so not sure if you watched it all the way through. More importantly I hope this helps you get it fixed.
Thanks for sharing, a TIP: I used a blow dry to melt the Ice in the tube that feeds the ice tray. No mess and after about 30 seconds the the ice slipped out of the tube in one chunk.
Hi and thanks for the video. 2 questions: 1. When removing the water lines from the old valve, are you pressing a release of some sort? 2. I see there isn't a bar that rises to tell when to stop making ice. How is this accomplished without the bar? Thanks so much! Dan
Hi, thank you so much for the video. Quick question, where can I get one of those jump cables you use to reset the machine. The red thing you put between the T and the H? Thank you so much
I need some help. I have a Kenmore that has the same ice maker setup as in your video (By the way thanks for doing the video). How do I replace the section of line that runs from the outside back of the freezer (from the water valve) through the insulation in the top of the freezer and connects to the black dispensing nipple that aims it into the ice maker? I believe that portion of line is split or cracked somewhere along it's path as I have some water that drips down the back of the inside freezer wall during the ice maker fill cycle. The black fill nipple has no ice or other blockage in it and the ice maker works fine and makes nice full sized cubes amazingly fast. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for the informative videos! Only issue is what is wrong if the ice maker does not move? This is a refrigerator that did not make ice when we acquired it.What and why I have changed so far. First, I installed a new ice maker mainly because the coating where the ice is made was coming off and getting in the cubes per previous owner. Second, I installed new boards because the light was blinking continuously whether the L/H side panel was pressed or not. Now the light is operating as in your related video but when I do the jumper in the above video, my ice maker is not moving, not even slowly. I followed the instructions in the video with no luck. Am i missing something. I am not sure if I have a faulty water valve or not because the ice maker will not get to the point to turn it on.
Thanks so much for taking the time to make this repair video. I have a whirlpool model ED2SHAXMQ10 Side by Side. I followed all your instructions and everything is back to making ice, Only thing is, now it is filling up a little too high and the ice cubes are sticking together. I replaced the water switch with aEvertechPRO W10408179 4389177 IMV-708 Water Inlet Valve Original Version Replacement for Whirlpool Refrigerator AP5263471 PS3497634 WV8179. Well i have jump both the water valve and the ice cycle both did not work i did the switch on the door and nothing working. I cleared the ice from tray then it seamed to work but only made 2 pieces of ice and it would not cycle. So are the water valve and the ice machine done?
I have a similar fridge to the one in your video and it's only making ice every few hours. The line seems good and ice free. There is ice in the tray but the wheel doesn't turn when I try to troubleshoot. What can I do to check it further?
Brilliant video. Just a question, would it be better to not connect the other end of the tube to the new valve when pumping the warm water up the tube ?
Hello mine is full of water and not flipping into the ice bucket on the door. I want to know is, how did you get it off so easily? I've been trying to slide mine out the way you pulled this one out and it just won't side out.
Yes, there are locking tabs on the bottom of the tray toward the front on each side. Use a small flat head screwdriver to release the right tab first and move the tray forward just a bit so that it doesn't slide back, then press the tab on the left side in front. The tray should then be able to slide forward. The slots underneath on the back side don't lock, so it's just the front ones that have tabs.
I've been having a problem with the ice maker overflowing and producing a big ice cycle all down the front of the baskets to the floor of the freezer, I replaced the water valve again but I'm still having the overflow problem. What's my next step in trouble shooting my problem?
My refrigerator and freezer are working fine but the ice maker isn't working. I checked and don't see the red emitter light on or blinking. BTW; The entire refrigerator recently quit working entirely but after I pulled the control board out and in a couple of time it started working again but now the ice maker isn't working. Does the control board control the ice maker as well? There appears to be power at the connector and I tried inserting the jumper between T&H but that didn't seem to do anything so I gave up after a couple of minutes. I'm not sure if I should be buying a new ice maker or maybe it's a problem somewhere else.
Question my ice maker the arm will come down and make couple drops then stop as the arm never comes back down all the way so I unplugged it and reset everything then it works and same thing happens again ? arm will not drop all the way down .I checked filter its ok and not sure if it is the controller going bad or ? it is a whirlpool side by side WRS325FDAM04
Great video, I have exact same fridge. I replaced the valve and removed frozen ice in tube and it worked for a day, then I got ice in tube again. What could it be. Any suggestions?
How do you reset an aquasense ice maker, looks just like this one on the video. Went on vacation and shut the water off for 2 weeks. Then returned home turned the main water back on, but no ice being made. Ran the water dispenser for a while no air in the system. The red light Emiter flashes when the door is open and stays on when you close the emiter flap. So it seems to be functioning. I can hear the pump go on trying to fill the ice tray, no water in the tray of the ice maker. Would apprecitae your feed back. I shut the fridge off as well by the main shut off switch at the top and turned it back on, like a reboot but still the same issue. This is a Kitchen Aid KSS048QTX04 side by side. Nothing in manual states how to reset it either.
Hi! How can I make the ice maker work if I change the system from electronic to defrost timer, because my WHIRPOOL broke down, the board is the culprit and it is too expensive. I am going to convert to analogue but I would like to have some suggestions about how to connect the ice maker. For that I need to know how it works first, so I can be able to take the proper connection wires to each component. Can you help me with that ? Thanks, Ramon Perera, Miami.
I am trying to diagnose my ice maker not making ice and your video is the only o e showi g a matching ice maker. However, you do explain how to remove that flap in front of the icemaker and I can't get it off. So much flimsy plastic I'm afraid I will break it. How do you get it off and how do you get the icemaker out? Your hands are doing stuff but I dont know what.
My ice maker is making ice but only filling up the first 2 cube trays, also the ice is missing the bin when it is ejected. Should I replace the valve or the entire unit? Your thoughts Sir?
the customer complaint was the water valve was leaking and the ice maker was not ejecting the cubes. On this ice maker and model of refrigerator, the ice maker and water valve has been replaced and there is no ice after 36 hours. since the broken ice maker didnt have a arm, i didnt think about whether the new one would need to be manually put into the on position or if it can that way out of the box.. can it been put in the on position without the arm?
I'm not sure if you will respond since this is an old video. This fridge looks just like mine. In my case I only have 34.2V AC getting to the Ice Maker. Not sure if it's related but the lights toward the bottom of the fridge quit (I think). The sockets are empty now. But the lights in the freezer are fine. Any idea where I should start? Thanks.
I Replaced the ice maker but still is not running ! the new ice maker has already ice cube but is no moving the motor! I changed the filter also! Please advise!
Two things: 1) a blow dryer works really well in melting the ice plug on the tube feeder to the ice maker and 2) I watched you pull out the ice maker by just pressing the tab on the left underside of the ice maker but mine won’t come out as there’s something on the right side that is preventing that. Any suggestions? Thanks
Thank you for sharing this video. I'm having a problem with a tenants ice maker, and was having a hard time finding a similar configuration. Like the problem you encountered, I believe it is a faulty water valve. But your insights have provided me with some excellent information. Thanks again.
I've got a question for you. My new ice maker takes about 1:45 min. to 2 hours to make a batch of ice. This seems like a long time to me. Is this normal? I usually have to replace the ice maker about every 2-3 years. We use a lot of ice in this family. The coating flakes off before the ice maker fails. Also, I had to use the old wiring harness because ours mounts from the front of the freezer to the back-not from the left side to the right like in this video. The wiring harness that came with the new ice maker is about 2-3 inches too short but is exactly like the one in this video. Is there a special wiring harness that I need to buy? Our Whirlpool side by side is about 13 years old. I clean the condenser coil about every 3-4 months. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks for this video too.
Hi, this is the only video I could find of my fridge/ice maker. At first my light was not working but now it is. I don’t think I have water frozen in my water valve, so I poured water into the back. There has been no motor sounds, so I would like to remove the ice maker and thaw it out (maybe the fingers are frozen). I can get it to move a few mm, but it gets hung up on the right side, so I cannot slide it out like you do in the video. I don’t see any screws to remove/loosen, nor do I see any obvious ice. What am I doing wrong?
So if there is frozen water in there, I should just replace the ice maker? I have this refrigerator and a few weeks ago an ice cube got stuck in the teeth. Since then, I noticed a little stalactite forming at the bottom of the ice maker, and now it has stopped producing ice completely. I think its frozen? I can feel frozen water down in there in the mold, but nothing is moving. Should I try to remove it and troubleshoot or just replace it? Thank you in advance!!!
I can't get the right side of ice maker to release and come out. I have removed cover from wiring harness. what is holding in the right side? It does not have the small clip as the side does.
My machine can make ice but no water flowing to the ice maker. I place water in the maker turned it on and ice was made. So does this mean I might have it frozen?
Hi what happen when water is comi g out like a small fountain from a tube compartmthat's located on top of the refrigerator with a small lid? This tube provide water to the ice maker.
I cannot get my ice maker to come off from the track! What am I doing wrong? I disengaged those two prongs on each track, but it still won’t budge on the right side of the track, the left one is loose.
Word to the wise. When you order your ice maker order an authentic maker from the whirlpool website. It’s a little pricey but well worth the trouble, a lot of those off brand ice maker fits your refrigerator but a lot of problems goes a long with it
Hi! I finally found an ice maker like ours! We have a Kenmore cold spot 106 type 2. We recently replaced our filter and we initially had trouble with the water dispenser not stopping but my hubby fixed that but since then, our ice maker stopped making ice. My hubby checked the black hose that dispenses water into the ice maker and it's soft, not frozen. The optics are working fine, so that's out. Any advice for next??
Unplug the fridge for about a minute. Plug it back in wait about 20 seconds than open the freezer door to see if the ice maker is moving. If the ice maker is moving your optics are good. If not the problem could be the optics or your ice maker. (I have ran into optics that test good on the outside with the lights but only send 90vac to the ice maker.) When the ice maker finishes the harvest it should send power down to the valve to fill it with water. If it does fill your water valve is good. So the. I would suspect your ice maker being the issue. If it does. It fill could be the ice maker, not sending power to the valve, valve , if it won’t let any water though to the ice maker due to debris being inside or selenium being defective in it. Last thing would be a frozen water line. If you have a frozen water line you need to replace the valve and clear the ice in the tube. That’s ice maker diagnosis on this guy. The more complicated part is making sure your valve is good. If your valve is getting power at the end of the harvest cycle disconnect the water line going to the ice maker off of the valve and put the valve in a bowl. Just to make sure water is coming through it. If no water comes through you need a new valve. This is only if there is power on your solenoid. Hope all this makes sense to you. I just through a ton of info at you so just let me know if you have any questions.
@@BeardedApplianceRepair Thank you so much for all the info! My hubby will work on it over the weekend, when he's off work. I'll let you know how it goes.
@@BeardedApplianceRepair Sorry it took so long to get back to you. We finally found out that it was the ice maker itself. The cogwheel inside the ice maker had completely broken off. We ordered a new ice maker and now all is well! Thank you so much for all your advice!!
Dorothy Persons yeah sometime you find the issue right off the bat when you start taking things apart. I can point you in the right direction but it’s up to you to find other issues that may be there. Kudos! To finding out the issue. Never would have guessed that was going to be it lol
Great video. I have a Kenmore fridge (whirlpool) that has the exact same ice maker. I'm curious how to diagnose it. It had ice frozen in the "tray" but wouldn't eject the ice. I took the ice maker out and got the ice out, put the ice make back in. Now it's not doing anything - or not filling with water anyway. Can you recommend how to diagnose the system? Thanks
There are test points on the control module that can be used to test various parts of the icemaker using the ohm function on a multimeter. Video for this: ruclips.net/video/VCUgA5T5ASw/видео.html The icemaker in that video is the same but it's mounted in a different position in the freezer.Your model also has an infrared led ice level control.
@@jeffmarcum3643 I’m having the exact same issue. Cleared the ice out because it seemed stuck, now no water is coming out the tube. Did you ever find a fix?
@@TheMrDamp I ended up replacing mine with a unit from Amazon (didnt want to pay for the name brand). When I took the original out and apart I found some of the contacts in the motor section had burned. I cleaned them up and it worked for a bit longer. Then decided to just replace it
Great video. My sensors seam to not be working. The red flashing light is not on. I tried testing it (another video) the light would flash , then stay red (if I closed the left side flap) but then minutes later i go back to check... no ice and no lights. Wouldn't you think its my sensors and not they issue you're describing. Changing the sensor seams easier to me but I'll do what you've described here if that saves me money! Thanks
Those lights can fail and it be working properly. Will you light be on at all or is it off all the time? Those are more of a pain since you don’t have that indicator. If you are getting that light blinking with the door open and such, I would agree. You can try cleaning the ir sensor with a q-tip as well. Sometimes that’s all it needs as well
Yes the light will turn off when your ice maker is not running when both of those are pushed down. It will blink when your ice maker is running with those closed.
Replaced inlet valve and ice maker assembly , also made sure there was no ice in fill tube. Still no ice , red light above laser on rh side blinks .... my filters are clean. What else could be the issue?
I ordered a new valve and installed it. The light only blinks when the light is on and the door is open. When we push in the light switch with the door open it doesn't blink and it doesn't even come on. What would you suggest?
ruclips.net/video/i_mGzwhBqwE/видео.html this video may help you out when it comes to how the ice level sensor works or how to get the ice maker to cycle.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I'm trying to fix mine. I purchased and replaced the two control boards. I used the jumper method and now the ice maker motor cycles but no water is filled. I tested the two water solenoids for continuity (drinking water works) and they both match the new push on solenoid I purchased. Should I just go ahead and replace the solenoid? Trying to avoid that because the originals have screw on fittings. Thanks for you time!
I would make sure you’re getting power back at the solenoid. If you’re getting power you need a water valve or solenoid. If you’re not getting power you need an ice maker. If you replace the valve just cut the nuts off the tube. Make the cut as square as you can. Not to bad, I trust the new way more than the old way. Good luck!
@@BeardedApplianceRepair Thanks for the reply. At 1:41 of this video: ruclips.net/video/lDb4UaFc0Q8/видео.html There's a method for jumping the water valve solenoid, which I did, and water flowed nicely. As I mentioned the ice maker gears cycle, so, I'm a little miffed. Is there another controller, other than the icemaker, that sends controls/ power to the solenoids? I think I found a good price at Mccombssupply.com in PA for an ice maker. Will let you know if/when I solve this...or buy a new fridge. ;-)
I'm confident I can replace the solenoids and cut the tubes, just didn't want to swap out something that's functional. Since I was able to jump the solenoid (at the icemaker test ports) and make it pump, would I just use a multitester on the solenoid connector, plug the fridge in, cycle the ice maker and then look for a voltage change after the "click"?
Yeah if you jumped it and water comes through, you’re looking at a bad ice maker. All the logic for ice making is in the ice maker. Once it get to the very end of its cycle, that’s when it fills. Take apart you ice maker to check out the guts, after you replace it of course. There pretty interesting contraptions.
I have this model ice maker (horrible). Is there any way to adjust it to make more ice, like on the ones with an adjustment screw? Also, one of my ice cubes (the far right one) usually gets stuck as it gets ejected.
Probably gets stuck because it’s not getting enough water. Things that could cause low water flow are: Clogged filter Low water pressure Sediments stick in water valve I would start with the filter and check water pressure. The more pressure the better for these ice makers because I’m there is not any adjustments for water to the ice maker. I think 60 psi is ideal for water to the fridge. If all that checks good replace the water valve. Good luck!
@@BeardedApplianceRepair Nah it gets plenty of water. I hear it. Ice cubes are big and I always feel the tray full of water while they're freezing. One gets stuck on the way out between the teeth and the warped edge, so the rotation stops the cycle. But the main issue is that it doesn't make enough ice, or fast enough. I think my freezer was way too warm or something.
On this exact model fridge, we found a little cap in the freezer (has one tab on top and two on the bottom), with the words, "Must be reinstalled with ice maker" written on the front. We cannot for the life of us figure out where that thing goes (or why it is important). And I don't see it anywhere in your video. Any ideas? Thank you.

@@BeardedApplianceRepair Thanks for the reply. I am neither a You Tuber or repairman so it truly does help to know each step.
glad to see this little bit, thanks.
Perfect! I just replaced the IR sensor on mine and still got nada. I'll definitely revisit it and this video this evening once home!
Thanks for sharing, a TIP: I used a blow dry to melt the Ice in the tube that feeds the ice tray. No mess and after about 30 seconds the the ice slipped out of the tube in one chunk.
That's a great idea!
You saved me some typing ,I also used a blow-dryer.😎👍
Thank you for this vedio instructions, very detals, I also used blow dryer by using cold air mode resolved tube issue.
I'm pretty sure this is what's wrong with my freezer thanks I will like your video good looking out 👍👍☝
Thank you for your video. I was able disassemble and jump my ice maker to get it started working again.
Hi and thanks for the video. 2 questions:
Thank you so much
I hace the same Whirlpool fridge everything works but the lights, do you have a video troubleshooting the lights function? Thanks a lot!
where is the best place to get the valves
How did you get the tray out so fast and easy? Am i missing a screw or something??

Was able to easily change our icemaker. Great video, thanks
What do I use for the jumper wire
replaced water inlet valve and icemaker control assembly. tried the hot water through the tube and jumper wire but still no ice. any other ideas?
Thanks fixed my ice making issue!!!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to make this repair video. I have a whirlpool model ED2SHAXMQ10 Side by Side. I followed all your instructions and everything is back to making ice, Only thing is, now it is filling up a little too high and the ice cubes are sticking together. Should I reduce the water pressure with the water shutoff valve behind the refrigerator? Or do you have another trick? Thanks TED
How do I check for the power source ? I swapped out the ice make and I have no power to it ? Do I need to change the pump out on the bottom?
Excellent video..I'm getting water through the door but no water to the ice maker.
I know it's a year later but there's a little push tab underneath on the left side
How do you release the ice maker unit from the freezer? Are there locking tabs somewhere?
Could not find the jumper wire. Where can I get it?
My KitchenAid fridge’s ice maker stopped working. But my water still works does that mean that my water valve is ok or does it maybe need replaced.
Awesome help. I feel very confident I can fix the ice maker.
You can do it!
Just changed out the pump valve and icemaker. Got 1 set of cubes and it froze up the line. Not sure whats wrong.
the customer complaint was the water valve was leaking and the ice maker was not ejecting the cubes.
Thanks.
Hello Sir, my ice dispenser isn't working. Do you know which part/board I need to replaced?
I Replaced the ice maker but still is not running !
the new ice maker has already ice cube but is no moving the motor!
I changed the filter also!
Please advise!
Two things: 1) a blow dryer works really well in melting the ice plug on the tube feeder to the ice maker and 2) I watched you pull out the ice maker by just pressing the tab on the left underside of the ice maker but mine won’t come out as there’s something on the right side that is preventing that. Any suggestions? Thanks
Thanks
Working on it right now, 3/21/22 @ 3:15 MST

Thank you for sharing this video. I'm having a problem with a tenants ice maker, and was having a hard time finding a similar configuration. Like the problem you encountered, I believe it is a faulty water valve. But your insights have provided me with some excellent information. Thanks again.
Glad to help. These appliances can be tricky. Good luck and hit me up if you have any question. Ill do my best to help out.
Thanks for the video. This is exactly the same issue I had. Saw water dripping and didnt think anything of it. Couple days later no ice.
Thank you sir. I just replaced the valve and it's back to making ice. 😁
How long before it starts making ice 🧊
Great Job
Did you mean ice in the mold like ice in the bottom of the tray where the forks are supposed to go?
I can't get the right side of ice maker to release and come out. I have removed cover from wiring harness. what is holding in the right side? It does not have the small clip as the side does.
Followed ur steps to the T, The ice maker worked for one dump, now it's not working again, what else could it be?
I am having the same problem, but my front panel display have no power to it. Can you help?
Thanks for doing this video. This will help me diagnosis and hopefully repair the ice the maker problem.
What is the part number for the ice maker unit
I cannot get my ice maker to come off from the track! What am I doing wrong? I disengaged those two prongs on each track, but it still won’t budge on the right side of the track, the left one is loose.
Using the jumper got mine going, thanks for the tip!!
Where you get the jumper?
@@Kimdestini I just used a scrap piece of wire.
Very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks so very much. Pretty easy to follow your instructions

Word to the wise. When you order your ice maker order an authentic maker from the whirlpool website. It’s a little pricey but well worth the trouble, a lot of those off brand ice maker fits your refrigerator but a lot of problems goes a long with it
Sorry had not gone deep enough into te video to have heard your comment on cycling the ice maker. Hopefully that part will help me solve the issue.
Thinking that the water that was left has frozen in the tube...
(I have ran into optics that test good on the outside with the lights but only send 90vac to the ice maker.)
When the ice maker finishes the harvest it should send power down to the valve to fill it with water.
Thank you. This was a big help. 😁👍
Video for this: ruclips.net/video/VCUgA5T5ASw/видео.html
The icemaker in that video is the same but it's mounted in a different position in the freezer.Your model also has an infrared led ice level control.
DGeorge C - thanks. I’ll check it out
@@jeffmarcum3643 I’m having the exact same issue.
Then decided to just replace it
@@TheMrDamp good luck with yours.
Sometimes that’s all it needs as well
I can’t see how he put away the little plastic door? Thanks!
The red LED light is is also a diagnostic indicator. Good video.
For ice level yes. We have a video we recently uploaded showing how it is supposed to work. if you're interested.
thanks!
@@BeardedApplianceRepair I saw it after this video. Thanks for both.
When u close the flap on the side and the push the switch on top is the red light suppose to stay on , mine turns off ? Any suggestions
Only thing left is the emitter/receiver. That is the part with the blinking light. That may be your probkem
Can you add water to the ice maker to see if the motor is working prior to changing the water valve?
I also checked to make sure it wasn't frozen...was able to blow through tube that goes to filler nozzle.
At 1:41 of this video: ruclips.net/video/lDb4UaFc0Q8/видео.html
There's a method for jumping the water valve solenoid, which I did, and water flowed nicely.
Things that could cause low water flow are:
Clogged filter
Low water pressure
Sediments stick in water valve
I would start with the filter and check water pressure.
Super helpful, thank you for this vid!!
On this exact model fridge, we found a little cap in the freezer (has one tab on top and two on the bottom), with the words, "Must be reinstalled with ice maker" written on the front. We cannot for the life of us figure out where that thing goes (or why it is important). And I don't see it anywhere in your video.
Any ideas? Thank you.
