Wizard hit a home run on this Dodge. What I love about the Hemi powered 300/Charger/Challenger(both 1st and 2nd gen) is they provide the same thrills as my old LS1 powered 1999 Camaro Z28, without all the compromises. AKA comfortable seats, nice smooth/stable ride/steering at high speeds, very quiet, t-tops don't leak, doesn't rattle, much better build quality, room for your friends in the back seat, decent(not huge) trunk. I actually think the Charger looks better with the black moldings, especially since it already has some other black accents. Congrats with your revived Charger, Wizard, About the Smart: would'nt you rather replace the complete loom to be sure? What is your tipping point for such a decision? As a biker I have considered a Smart for the winter months, but now I tend to go for a Carver, because of the cool mechanism that enables the motorcycle experience. Maybe Hoovie might try one, just for fun.
Sometimes the best cars are the cheapest or free cars. Theres no better feeling of value, knowing you saved that car; makes it more valuable to you because it owes you nothing.
Great car and a really great buy. Like the colours, the black accents (especially with the addition of the mouldings), the yellow fog lights. This looks like a really good car to have some fun.
Wow! That banana came out really well. Good job and great buy. I don't think the little black strips take away from the car. Would look worse in a lighter or very bright banana color. Car looks great!!
Here in Canada there were 200 only 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona sold. There are 6 for ssle.. 2 yellow 2 red 1 lime green and one orange from USA cool. Prices from 4500 cdn (blown motor) to $ 26,000. U peaked my interest in these. I was goingbto buy a 2017 police hemi enforcer but now maybe not.
The car is looking great! The repairs that you did will probably let that car last even longer. I think that’s why most of these cars fail, lack of services done. Amazing that the engine is lasting as long as it has! Hopefully you’ll get lots of years of enjoyment out of the car and it might be a future collectible? Thanks!
I still remember how freaked out I was after I popped the hood on one of our cars and found fresh rodent droppings. I actually spent the whole weekend thoroughly gutting and cleaning our garage. It still was much easier than diagnosing and repairing potential rodent damage. Cool trick: if you want to keep rodents out of your garage, get a paper towel, soak it, and I do mean SOAK it, in the most spicy Tabasco sauce you can find, and leave it in the garage. Mice/rodents absolutely can't stand the smell of Tabasco sauce. Garlic also works, but sharp Tabasco is best.
Most of the grille is supposed to be black, but I'm pretty sure the Dodge emblem is supposed to be chrome on that car. I was detailing these cars when they were new, so I kinda have an idea of it. Also, the spoiler looks slightly off, the Daytona Spoiler is supposed to be taller and more rounded than the stock SXT/RT spoiler. I think it has been replaced and vinyled from an SXT or RT.
Your videos are awesome I been following these charger videos. I picked up a 2006 in go mango with 90k miles and really been enjoying it. I bought mine from original owner for 10k it's in immaculate condition. Glad you got yours going great and looks awesome 👌

Your Charger is basically just like my 06 Charger RT except with the extra badges and rear wing, mine even has the same wheels. I really like driving it, plenty of power and will surprise other cars and me. I paid 3 grand for mine too but it was a family deal because lil sister bought it brand new (go figure) and was tired of feeding it and trying to see around it when she backed up. It only had 89500k on it and I've had it a year now. It just got a oil change and plugs will be next, has 93500 on it now. How much power do you gain with the Diablo, the RT engines are 350hp stock. Enjoy the ride 👌
“Mr. and Mrs Wizard do not smoke weed”…I am sorry. I know the feeling though. I don’t smoke weed either. I haven’t smoked weed in YEARS! I wish they would make it legal in our state though. Much better than alcohol!
Oh Wizard. This is the car to wet your toes with a little modding. Maybe cams or even a pro charger once you get used to all that power and could want a little more. I’d love to see you do any kind of modding, your take of these “bolt ons” would be brilliant
PYH is the bright yellow that was used on the rumble bees. I believe ( could be wrong) the Daytonas we're a pale yellow like the old Sunfire Yellow from the 60s
There's a product called Bac-a-zap that's a natural enzyme spray to eliminate the smell associated with rodent death and remnants. Would help in future jobs for your safety and sanitary work environment.
The really annoying thing is that the touch-up paint in Top Banana has changed slightly in the past few years, so that might be the issue. Modern touch-up on the '06 Banana color looks a bit like a mustard color when side-by-side up close. Not sure if it's Duplicolor or the original Mopar stuff, but I'll have to check at some point to see which is the case.
Just for longevity for handling the power in beefier cars, i perfer my polyurethane mounts. Sacrificing the comfort is worth the peace of mind when its a second car imo.
Good job on the Charger. The only thing that would worry me on that would be the possibility of dropping a valve seat. 5.7 hemi engines are famous for that. But Edelbrock heads would significantly up the investment so, hope for the best?

Thanks to the US Government new regulations on car manufacturers having to have a high MPG average between all of its brands, has caused Dodge to have the cancel the manufacturering of the 6.2 Liter V8 Supercharged Demon engine in, 2023. That's the last year they will make the engine, because Dodges average MPG is above the limits because of this engine. Sucks!! Those engines will now be super expensive to find and buy after 2023. Watch, finding a decent low mileage Demon engine set up the way I said above, will cost over 35k for a "decent" used one. Watch. Ugh. Thanks US Government....its also forced Dodge to make a, All Electric Challenger.....wtf.....reason why Dodge has done so well since, 2018 and has made record sales and profits is because it was/is one of the last manufacturers that make a massive, powerful, loud, gas chugging V8 High HP engines. Dodge made the return of the muscle car era. Now it's being regulated away, again...just like it was back in 1973 when the government back then, chocked the HP out of V8 engines for less smog and better atmosphere for out furure.....F the future lol. I live in the now, I'll be dead 100 years from now, I don't give a crap lol.
I love that car. The black molding looks great. It looks a lot better the yellow molding.
man here in upstate New York . we just coded all harnesses and electrical wires . with Kayan Paper. we mixed the powder with some water.. this stuff is seriously Super HOT.. the Jeep use to be Parked for weeks . No mice they destroyed the hood insulation . but that's about it .. Paper mint spray is another solution. but you have to keep it sprayed at all time . that was 2004 Jeep Liberty.
Yellow charger is beautiful. I have a consolation on the smart car for you - it is lucky it's this small car that you have to get and rewire, if "lucky" is the right word. Funny how all the parts fit on a table.
Since you got this thing I have seen them all over. Ok well mostly when I'm out in California and Arizona. Not roached out from what I could tell.
you may think about reflowing the solder in the ECU there kind of notorious for overheating to the point of melting solder.
Excellent Wizard,with u at the helm with this yellow bomber,it's gonna b a gem!👍💪💪💪🙏🙏💪
Ive heard that the cylinder deactivation can cause oil sludge in the cylinders. Car looks great wish I could find 1 in my area (Kansas city) for a reasonable price that hasnt been ragged out
Your work is amazing. Love how you figure stuff out, remembering the times I couldn't.
I have a 12 challenger R T classic I bought with 49k on it I got the diablo I3 platinum tuner and did the 93 octane and turned off the MSD and it makes the car 100% more fun to drive.
Nice job wizard! ONLY thing it's missing is black wheels👍
love the charger....YELLOW IS THE COLOR....
I really love how this car turned out and the fact that it was saved, considering how rare they are these days.
The matt black door moldings also fit right in. Now if the wheels are powder-coated black, that would complete the look! 😁
Because used car prices are stupid insane high right now. That's great for mechanics like, wizard. Used car owners now find it to be worth it to now spend thousands on their used car to fix EVERYTHING in/on it. 2 tears ago, it wasn't worth doing that because the cost of repairs were way more than the car was worth, but not now....2 years ago, a used car worth 4-5k is now worth, 10k-13k so freaking stupid. Again, great for, wizard though. Now used car owners with pay to get the engine and trans rebuilt.
The exhaust sounds fantastic! Much better than the SLP “Loudmouth” system my oldest son installed on his 2011 Challenger R/T. It was obnoxiously loud…

@@nexpro6118 yes yes yes!!! We heard you the first 7 times you wrote that! Just get one already!!!!
Looks great. Yes, the cylinder deactivation sux bad.
I just saw a red one of these cars sitting parked along a road in Marina Del Rey, California. Not in as nice a shape though....
Great video!
i enjoy you getting this car sorted out. Inspires me to continue to keep my in good shape and sorted.
Congrats with your revived Charger, Wizard,
About the Smart: would'nt you rather replace the complete loom to be sure?
What is your tipping point for such a decision?
As a biker I have considered a Smart for the winter months, but now I tend to go for a Carver, because of the cool mechanism that enables the motorcycle experience. Maybe Hoovie might try one, just for fun.
nah, I think the black door protectors are a good shout, it adds a nice contrast and really breaks up all that bright yellow
Sometimes the best cars are the cheapest or free cars. Theres no better feeling of value, knowing you saved that car; makes it more valuable to you because it owes you nothing.
Glad you got this thing to where you want it Wizard! Thanks for sharing it with us,
Now I really want one and there's still none available 😢
Throw some charger rt rims from 2011 to 2014 and call it a day, slightly bigger and would make the car really pop.
Top Banana is really growing on me. Looks so much better now with small black accents here and there.
Good job, those Black strips look way better than being coulour coded.
Great to see it brought back by a pro.
Your videos are awesome I been following these charger videos. I picked up a 2006 in go mango with 90k miles and really been enjoying it. I bought mine from original owner for 10k it's in immaculate condition. Glad you got yours going great and looks awesome 👌

Agree that the black body side trim looks great! Definitely ties in the other black trim items. Now drive it like you stole it!!! 🤪😀🤪
Now both a beautiful and badass car! I hope you keep it.
It fits perfect, the black color looks stock! Cheers, HD
I bet that Smart car seat somewhere for a long stretch of time probably 6 months give or take for that many mice to make that many nests.
Cool. I loved my 2007 Charger RT/RT. Small V8 but plenty of power. What's up with Chevelle and the old Oldsmobile?
Nice job on the colour scheme David. Looks great
Love the contrast on the belt line. Should have been the original design. Breaking up the vertical visual weight makes the car appear far sleeker.
You may want to talk to the shop who welded the mufflers. They putting someone on the job that is not quite ready. Car is looking good.
What is the fuel pressure? Pressure lessens with lots of miles until it can’t open the injectors.
We had a critter chew wires in our car year ago and insurance covered it, wonder if is case on the unsmart car
Does the 2014 model still has this issue
Love how the charger ended up! I'll keep it in mind for my own charger!

@@nexpro6118 what
@@V8_Diva what what?
@@nexpro6118 why did you put this as a reply to me? It's like, unrelated to my comment.
I have that Diablo Predator 2 tuner on my 250k mile Magnum R/T to get rid of that MDS, it occasionally would give me some weird little glitches with the cruise control but nothing a reflash wouldn't fix
Your pride is evident throughout this charming post. "They call it Mellow Yellow!"
The black looks fine , surprised they couldn’t match up the yellow ? But the the black works. This is a nice car!
Some black Hellcat 20" replicas and Mopar 1" lowering springs would look reeeeaal nice! 👌
