I agree re. Holding the mic in the hand… it’s very distracting and find myself just looking at the receiver rather than the person. I love a hidden mic and you are the best!
Oh my God I'm glad you said something about the mic holding trend. It's so annoying to see these creaters all start holding mics and constantly moving their hands while talking. STOP THAT RUclips!!
Yes. THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS!!! I can’t stop looking at their mic, especially when they have a windscreen on it… my mind thinks “fuzzy caterpillar!” and my eyes go straight to it. So distracting!
@@DavidFamous I saw another video where the guy was showcasing how it could theoretically work, but one would need to shave off part of the plastic in order to make it fit on the DJI mic mark 1
so question, if you use the adaptor, and then now plug another mic into the port of the now available mic jack, will it work as 2 mic systems or the one on the camera stop working?
Thanks for the video, this is all the info I needed to decide that this is probably the most versatile audio solution for me. I've been recording with a lav into a Tascam Portacapture X6. It can send the audio to my camera via the 3.5mm jack and it sounds really good, but the whole setup just got too bulky. I'll let the field recorder be a field recorder and use it as such and get the DJI Mic 2 with the adapter for video from now on.
I just wonder if it is allows to balance on the weebill 3s and my Sony a7c. Maybe it is. I cannot balance a big shotgun/ stereo micro on a gimbal. I hope i can with this.
Dang ive never tried a lav mic under shirt like that, i was told 1) it wont sound that good, and 2) shirt rubbing it would cause noise. What lav mic are you using?
I just received the DJI mic 2 today and it's not compatible with the a6700 when you have the smallrig cage on, so I was looking for an adapter to add to the cold shoe of the cage and then DJI releases the solution in the middle of my search😂😂😂😂 . Great Video, Sidney!
Thanks for sharing and I just learned a tip. I didn't know you can change the audio levels for both receiver and transmitter from the main screen so thanks.
You still have to plug headphones into the camera to check your shots. So you’re still wired. I got one of these though. It’s one less wire to deal with.
the mic trend thing is such a funny concept to bring up. It's like looking at a news anchor, someone walking and talking around a convention stage, performing or publicly speaking on a mic, it's something all of us see but for some reason this is a trend to bring it up like it's supposed to stop anyone. You see people also attaching them to pencils and rulers, some skipped that step and just held it in their hand. It probably won't go away and it's because there's always familiarity from other applications and there will always be counter culture aspects of any creative form. I like it, it's different than a movie and that's actually kinda cool that we see old tech being used in new ways. Considering picking up a wireless mic handle just to try it out. The oddest part is that we live in a creative community and we see others doing something a different way and just come at it hahah pretty funny.
It would be super cool if DJI allowed you to pair your lav mic to multiple DJI 2 receivers and use this hot shoe to be cableless wireless audio sync to multiple cameras. No need for time code when both cameras have the exact same audio.
Why not add compatibility to the V1 mic? They want everyone to upgrade to the v2. I don’t see any reason why the v1 cannot support this besides firmware which could be updated.
Wow!! I will definitely pick this up for my Sony Zv1 once its available in Malaysia. I hope DJI would work on creating a mount for the receiver and insta360 x3 / x4. I would love to use the receiver and 2 mics instead of just bluetooth which only allows me to use 1 mic
It just looks good but for me very unusful if it's related to the camera pins,, and the most important for meif I use it on gimbal means extras weight and for handheld while I have my camera cage means nothing as I have to attach the mic on the cage itself still
I’ve been having trouble getting the audio loud enough on my a7siii while running this adapter. I’ve increase the gain etc but the audio bars on the camera do not match the bars on the receiver level-wise. I’ve even cranked the gain to 12 across everything. Has anyone else noticed this?? Any workaround?
Of course the further you get away from a shotgun mic, the less sound will be received into the mic. What does that have to do with DJI utilizing the hot shoe of camera for their wireless units?
SONY USERS! Would you get this adapter???
Yeah... I've been debating Rode pro or DJI Mic2... I think this seals it.
its a must for sure! No cables golden.
@@TheAaronalden yep for sure!
How did you get this?
@@racemode DJI works with a lot of creators, but the cool thing is we can now order it and the price is very reasonable
DJI is really coming up with some innovative stuff that just works.

Agreed!
Double agree! 👍

I would also love to know this 😃

does the 32 bit float work this way? wouldn't it be better to just record internal 32 bit with the lav mic and add in post?
It probably can’t do float in this manner.
@@TechMixr figured, kinda pointless then
Was there any point in this video where the internal transmitter mic was used?
Does this work with the DJI mic 1?
I want to know as well. I'm going to look it up lol

I second that! I wanna know if this works on the DJI Mic 1 too?
Does it work with DJI Mic 1?
I saw a different review and they said no.
Will this work on ZV1?
So glad this now exists! Going back to using wires was the only downside when upgrading from the Sony ECM-W2BT to the DJI Mic 2.
is this only for sonny? I have canon
Really cool piece of gear! Didn't know this existed, thanks!
so question, if you use the adaptor, and then now plug another mic into the port of the now available mic jack, will it work as 2 mic systems or the one on the camera stop working?

Can you try this with the Dji mic 1 to see if this works???
It won't work, sorry
@@SidneyDiongzon thanks bro
We got two DJI Mic 1 and if these works with a DJI Panasonic version, I’d be interested. So waiting for that LUMIX XLR-1 replacement.
It only works with the Mic 2!
Cool video! I just purchased my Mic 2 adapter, can't wait to try it out. Can it be used where the audio interface of the receiver is facing forward?
No. It only works with the receiver screen facing the shooter. You can’t see when vloggiing. Improves the audio quality though.

Hopefully they will make one compatible with panasonic!!!
God I hope so
FWIW I just assumed the "mic on screen" thing was an attempt to seem "authentically amateur" & so create a bond with the audience that way.
Dang ive never tried a lav mic under shirt like that, i was told 1) it wont sound that good, and 2) shirt rubbing it would cause noise. What lav mic are you using?
is dji coming with a boom wireless mic? Then when you need you get the adapter for use in camera maybe.
Sidney, would you be willing to try this with an A7iii if you have one? Does the analog setting affect post processing or quality at all?
This is awesome… when is the Canon version coming?
Hey, is it compatible with DJI Mic 1??
This thing is very cool! Are they planning to make this to work on Lumix cameras?
Not sure! Hopefully!
Hello, I also bought this, but it doesn't work normally every time. Is there a requirement for connection order?
My mic jack keeps giving my audio a buzzing sound so I’m happy they made this, but does this work for the first DJI mic?
OR hear me out... they just could allow bluetooth to connect to the camera like on the smartphone... but you can't sell an adapter then can you?
Do you know if this adapter will work with the DJI Mic (original) instead of the DJI Mic 2? We have the original.

@@SidneyDiongzon How does this adapter work with cold shoe?
I would really like to know if this will work for the Sony FX6
why is this not compatible with the DJI Mic 1
It's physically designed differently
We still have to wait for the second version, so that the receiver screen can be rotated towards the lens direction
How is this a gamechanger ? Rode had this option from the start. You don't even need an adaptor with those
can it face you for when doing talking head shots so you can see the levels?
No, it's only rear facing since the hotshoe has the connect pins in a specific direction
