    I've seen this band twice in concert...once in a small-ish club in Germany in 2017...and once at a festival in the Netherlands in 2023. In the case of the latter performance, they had an amazing live sound. If/when they make an appearance in or around where you live, I highly recommend checking them out.
    "At one point of my musical journey, I would of been considered an Elitist. I just liked what I liked. But as I've gotten older I've realized there's alot of great music out there, and I want to find it! " I can very much relate to this statement. My music horizons really started opening up after attending a music festival in Germany in 2016 (Rockavaria)...and my journey, like yours, has been about finding great music.
    And in the spirit of finding great music, I'll offer up a recommendation for a band that hasn't appeared on your RUclips channel (yet)...Beyond the Black. I discovered them at Rockavaria in 2016...and have seen them a number of times since then. (14 is a number, yes? That'd be the total number of times that I've seen them.) They are one of my favorite bands.

    Here im just looking at tickets to a festival at the end of next week where Beast In Black is performing along with Amaranthe and bunch of older Finnish rock performances. I've seen them a couple of times in the same festival before and they are truly great live. One time i was alone at that festival and this 80+ year old bloke came with his electric wheelchair from his nearby retirement home to the festival. Looked like the dude had fled that place without telling anyone where he was going lol :D But we rocked to Beast In Black together. This guy even pulled a full vodka bottle from under his wheelchair and shared it with people. Who would search a wheelchair of an old bloke coming to a festival anywhay :D

    Beast in Black (name us a recerence to manga and anime Berserk) was founded by Anton Kabanen who had iriginaly founded Battle Beast and write the songs for first 2 albums if the band then because if creative differences left and created BiB. He is one ofthe 2 guitarists doing solos and singing almost as high as Yannis. He has a deep love for anime and especialy Betserk so in both bands almost 1/3 of the songs were about it. In Battle Beast songs like the Black Swordsman, Iron Hand, Band of the Hawk, Golden Age/Kingdom and My name us Madness area about it and roughly 1/3 songs of the rest in the first albums are sorta about the fictional emblematic lionheaded mascot of the band the eponymous BattleBeast. In BiB songs like Berserker, Zodd the Immortal, Die by the Blade, The fifth angel,Broken survivors are about Betserk but their latest album called Dark Connection us xoncept cyberpunk sci-fi album inspired by specific mangas like Armitage III and movies like Blade Runner. I suggest the songs Blade Runner, One Night in Tokyo, Moonliight Randevous and Hardcore (a bit explicit vid).

    Obvious recommendation, if you haven't checked them yet, is Battle Beast. They share history with Beast in Black because Anton Kabanen who writes Beast if Black music was originally in Battle Beast but they parted ways.
    However, that's not important. Important is that is you liked this, Battle Beast is going to hit too, and then some.
    Noora Louhimo, Battle Beast's current lead singer, is one of the few extant female vocalists that can cover Janis Joplin and not sound ridiculous (and she did, with Steve'n'Seagulls in a session) and her voice that can go all the way from clean metal belts to super raspy rock sound is a treat.
    "Where Angels Fear To Fly", official music video, might be a good place to start, but honestly, they have tons of good songs and collabs.

    • @JariJuslin
      @JariJuslin Год назад +1

      Steve'n'Seagulls is a Finnish hillbilly band that does bluegrass covers of famous metal and rock songs, sometimes with guest vocalists. They are *really* good at what they do. It's not easy to find the essence of a song so you can meaningfully transform it to a very different genre and they often play with makeshift or semi-toy instrumens with makes it even harder to keep it all together. Like, how do you even *acquire* an anvil that's tuned right to the correct pitch when hit?

  • @amazonit99

    Beast in Black is amazing as Battle Beast, which I also recommend. It is a finnish metal band with a great female vocalist.

    • @MikkoRantalainen
      @MikkoRantalainen Год назад

      I think it would be more accurate to say Battle Beast is another Finnish metal band. Nightwish and Beast in Black also come from Finland. Some additional bands worth checking from Finland (some are rock instead of heavy): HIM, Poets of the Fall, The 69 Eyes, Amorphis, Children of Bodom, Wintersun, Apocalyptica, Sentenced, Sinamore, To/Die/For, Suburban Tribe and Sonata Arctica. And an old band called Waltari is also worth checking out but they have even bigger variance between songs and albums than Amorphis so you might need to check quite a few songs to get overall feel of the band.

    • @amazonit99
      @amazonit99 Год назад +1

      @@MikkoRantalainen Agree, there are plenty interesting and excellent bands coming out of Finland, and the Nordic countries in general, many of which you mentioned.

    • @dizzyrick7653

      I have a hard time recommending Battle Beast considering they fucked over their founding member… who founded Beast in Black afterwards.

    • @MikkoRantalainen
      @MikkoRantalainen Год назад

      @@dizzyrick7653 You're talking about Anton Kabanen, right? They had disagreements about the musical direction of the band and Anton was the only one disagreeing with the rest of the band.
      Do you think it would have been more fair for everybody else to resign from the band and leave Anton alone in the band?
      As I see it, Anton is doing pretty fine in Beast in Black and the only thing he really lost was the name of his old band. It he had considered that as the most important part, surely he would have acquired a trademark for the name, right?
      The way I see it, now we have two bands making music instead of just one band with Anton.
