From their newest album, I also recommend "Bella Donna," "Blade Runner," "Broken Survivors" and "Moonlight Rendezvous." Their most recent album "Dark Connection" is just sublime.
As a Finn I wouldn't know as we only have little over 700 metal bands per 1M inhabitants, but since no other country comes even close, I'll agree with you.
Fun fact: the band name "Beast in Black" and the many themes and subjects in the songs were inspired by the dark fantasy manga "Berserk"! And yes, this band's sound is very "cheesy" sounding in the best way possible. Very fun, energetic, and the melodies will get stuck in your head all day. Like many have mentioned, the self titled song "Beast in Black", and "Die by the Blade" are some good listens! I'd also reccomend "Zodd the Immortal" which is more aggressive and I think really shows what Yannis is capable of.

Yeah and personally I think that the Beast In Black version is better than the original. And don’t get me wrong, I love the Rocky IV soundtrack and the film.
This is 80's cheese power metal...with the modern stylistics. If 80's metal was like this, it would have been so much better. They really went into the 80's vibe in the next album. They are definitely going for a certain style. Loved the reaction...you def have a new sub!
Hammerfall came through Atlanta in the late 90s for the first time, and I vividly remember Oscar Dronjak's stick-like long arms, like there was no muscle at all. Didn't stop him from playing some fun metal music, though.
I saw them as a pre-show for Nightwish, and I had never heard of them, but the performance was great, Yannis’s singing was amazing, all the songs were catchy as hell and I was singing along even during this first hearing. And the synchronised guitar movements are fun as hell. I really really like their song “Beast In Black” (a lot of songs of their album Berserker ar based on a manga/anime called Berserk), so please react to that song please :-) They were super nice (you could talk with them after the concert) and people were buying loads of records and CDs from them, so they made a big impression!

The entire Angel of Retribution album is extremely heavy compared to their older songs. BiB sounds more like Hammerfall, Battle Beast (the founders previous band), Powerwulf, etc.

They were the openers of the last Nightwish concert I went to, great introduction to get the crowd hyped and a very cool combination with Nightwish. Afterwards, the singer of this band covered Ghost Love Score from Nightwish, fantastically.
I can't help but think of producer/songwriter Max Martin when I hear that chorus, it's so his style, only in rock, not pop. And Yannis is a countertenor, the highest male voice.

Beast In Black is one of those bands that COMPLETELY destroys your preconceived notions of what 'good' metal really is. Man the chorus always gives me goosebumps. Heard them first time as a warm-up at a Nightwish concert and the totally got me. Always great choreo with the guitars (throwback to the 80s). Love it!
I know what you mean about the sound. I think it sounds like 80's movie or computer game music in the background of their songs. Then there's the powermetal over the top of it. Unique sound. From Hell with Love gives me a Top Gun - Dangerzone feeling even though the song is nothing like.

I saw them on tour with Nightwish and a year later on their own tour in a small venue on a Monday night. It was the funnest concert I've been to in the last few years. The crowd was amazing.
Been into power metal for about as long as I have been into metal, give or take a week or so. This is power metal. If you wanted to show someone what power metal was in a single song, you wouldn't use a mid tempo song like this, but the truth is undeniable.
