Fun Fact : there are more airplanes in the ocean than submarines in the sky.
Except for Gloryhammer's.
Hahahahaha
Funny, I just read that there were more ships at the bottom of the oceans than on the surface of them.
@@TankTheTech Howdy, my name is James Olberding, but my friends call me Jamie. And I'm actually new to your channel, so what is your Number 1# favorite Heavy Metal Band, also do you take any music video requests? My favorite band is Sabaton (because they totally ROCK), while my Dad's favorite is Metallica.
@@TankTheTech Angus mc Five, just sayin
@@MycontentisgoldJerryGold that’s weird to think about
Can I let you in on a little secret???? Christopher Bowes trolled Lady Gaga with Alestorm's song and video of Magnetic North.
And I love that Bowes openly admits it😆
Better song too😂😂
Was wondering if someone mentioned this in the comments, if you hadn't I was going to. It's pretty hilarious to watch the full mashup.
"The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee" is the song that got me hooked on Gloryhammer.
Also I would call it DnD-Metal. Their stories seem like the stories from a murder-hobo group of DnD players.
Interdimensional Space Metal 🤘
@@DocBrownbla yeah, but that doesn't really work for "Tales From The Kingdom of Five"
Whereas DnD is so multilayered that the scifi-theme still fits in
Also the fact every band member plays a role in their stories, and their batshit crazy "adventures".
It's 100% my DnD experience. Our DM must hate us by now...
Well... just google gloryhammer... you will see that even the official website says interdimensional space metal...sooo...i rest my case ;)
@@DocBrownbla fair lmao
"Rise of the Chaos Wizard" is another one that you'll find yourself singing along to.
Imho their best song.
Oh yeah. So kitschy, but so cool 😂
The transition into the chorus is so incredibly hype in this one.
Same with Set the Universe on Fire
TO DEFEAT THE FOOOOOOOOOOOOES WHEN THE CHAAAAOS WIZARD RISE
you should check out nano war of steels song "valhalleluja" the singer for Gloryhammer is a guest singer in that video and its hilarious :D
@klbearsfan125 I love watching reactions to Valhalleluja. Everyone suddenly acts like they have no idea what that one line is about.
@ I've got absolutely no idea which line you are talking about, and yes, please react to this, you will definitly enjoy it. :D
I agree, best Ikea Commercial ever ;-)
@ hahaha exacly! its hilarious :D
@@thorstenlone9207 Sure you don't.
1) Yayyyy!! That's how you cheer up a Monday!
2) Now you're ready for Nanowar's Valhalleluja ;)
3) FIGHT FOR THE ANCIENT STOOORYYY
FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE, WE MUST FIGHT FOR FIFE, FOR THE POWER AND THE GLOORYY
Yes!! He totally has to react to Valhalleluja. That and Norwegian Reggaeton, but Valhalleluja totally makes more sense after this lol
Valhallelujah!
Great song. My wife nearly died when I showed her that one😂😂😂
I came here to talk about Valhalleluja too! =D
HOOTSFORCE ARISE!!!!
IN HOOTS WE TRUST!
HAIL HOOTS!
Star Wars: We have the best space battles!
Marvel: We have the best superhero battles!
Gloryhammer: Hold my hammer and my space submarine.
Hahahahaha
You got to check out "Unicorn invasion of Dundee" or "The Siege of Dunkeld". Or Wind Rose and not just "Diggy Diggy Hole" , but "Return of a Race", "Wintersaga" and so many more.
PS: Both bands have very nice members, I got to talk with them a bit and it was a really wholesome experience.
Unicorn Invasion of Dundee is a fucking classic
Ooof someone suggesting Wind Rose :o I gave up long ago :D
@@angussharington2374 never give up for we are fighting the goblin King, zargothrax and the dragons from the North.
@@mormacil the song that got me listening to them
Me: Yeah, nice Metal Cover of this "Minecraft song".
Wind Rose: Okay, let's do a Dance Remix of "Diggy Diggy Hole".
Me: Wanna play "Shadowrun" right now! 🤯
When Gloryhammer first came to town they were on the "middle bill" with Alestorm as the headliners. Gloryhammer, according to my son, DESTROYED the crowd and stole the whole damn bill. The Following year? Gloryhammer headlined. For absolute, artery hardening levels of glorious cheese, "The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee" from their first album is a ridiculously awesome track.
We are now well on our way to a reaction to GrailKnights and their song Pumping Iron Power. Another goofy power metal song with enough cheese to clog arteries.
Another brilliant band .
Agreed 🤘😆
YES!! YES!! YES!!!!!!!!!
Once again, I have to recommend "Alestorm - Treasure Chest Party Quest", the music video; it's crazy. Such a weird song. Even weirder video.

Oh btw congrats on 35k my dude 😎
Thank you!
I've been saying this ever since their debut album: One of my favourite things about Gloryhammer is how they're parodying the whole epic power metal thing, but also being legit better at it than most of the bands they're taking the piss on.
Chris Bowes just announced a new project a few weeks ago called Wizardthrone. They're gonna play extreme wizard metal and also involves members from Nekrogoblikon, Gloryhammer and Æther Realm. They haven't released any music yet, but it will no doubt be epic.
Over to Gloryhammer. As you'd expect for this kind of music, they're very entertaining live. As for songs, they don't really have any bad ones, so I recommend checking out any of their live songs from Wacken last year, you have a good selection of their best songs there.
OMG! I am so hyped for Wizardthrone, since I love the 3 bands that are involved, no doubt it'll be epic!
So does that mean gloryhammer isnt a band any longer if memebers are doing other projects ....:(
@@Tfichtenbaum They're still active. It's very normal for musicians to be in several bands simultaneously. Also, I don't think the vocalist and bassist are involved with any other bands at the moment.
Members from this band, alestorm, necrogoblikon and aether realm hade started a new band called wizardthrone. From what I can tell theyre gonna continue the not so serious tradition but with black metal :D
The singer is also featured as Odin in the Christmas song "valhallalua" by ManoWar of Steel.
Chris Bowes has a new group coming out in Spring next year that he worked on with the singer from Necrogoblin. It's called WIZARDTHRONE.
"The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee" is great. Also "Legend of the Astral Hammer." Honestly it's hard to think of songs I don't like. They started out as a fantasy-themed band and have since gone into space fantasy.
"Fight for the king! for the hammer and the ring!" part is just straight up Rhapsody Holy Thunderforce stuff :D
Personally surprised it was Hootsforce. I think "Unicorn invasion of Dundee", "Angus Mcfife", "Gloryhammer", "Legend of the Astral Hammer" or "Universe on Fire" would have been a better intro to them.
While they are great, I personally still feel Hootsforce is a fantastic entry to Gloryhammer. Hail hoots.
I agree, Patrick. This is by no means a bad song, but Unicorn Invasion of Dundee is epic.
we have "Dwarf metal" with Wind Rose they even did a metal cover of the song "diggy diggy hole".
Greetings from Finland & may the "Hootsforce" be with you.
I bought their album two weeks ago after seeing a reaction vid, and it is great. “Land of the Unicorns” and “Gloryhammer” are my favourites. What I’ve learned so far: Dundee and Fife are very important, there is a hammer, there is a Hootsman and lots of hoots, and there are unicorns. There is a live concert of them on WackenTV of their gig at Wacken 2019, and it is great! It also has the starting times of each song in the description, so youcan pick songs out :-)
Damn, never seen someone pick the "I could sing Drink on this" up so fast.
That's exactly what we (me and a couple of friends) have been doing everytime we went to see Gloryhammer.
This band is just so much fun, and their storytelling never ceases to disappoint. Check out Rise of the Chaos Wizards from their second album, Space 1992. Hail Hoots! 🤘
Didn't think Hootsforce would make the cut; I was expecting Gloryhammer to be the first Gloryhammer song. Angus McFife XIII has some great tales in Gloryhammer universe. :)
For Saturday Morning Cartoon Metal, I'd suggest Grailknights - Pumping Iron Power (feat. Joakim Brodén from Sabaton).
Yes.
Absolutely do Grailknights!!
The concept of a flying submarine is absolutely ridiculous, and i want to know more.
Also, Tank - you've *got* to react to some Van Canto. I recommend their "Fear of the Dark" video from Wacken 2014 for a live act, or their original song "Lost Forever" for a better-mixed track, albeit not a live one. Enjoy!
Fun fact, the lead singer from Gloryhammer also featured in Nanowar of Steel's song Valhallelujah. It is all a big, weird circle of comedy metal my man.
Yup. That's the reason I wanted to do Gloryhammer now, was so I can do Valhallelujah later. 😎
@@TankTheTech *Happy metalhead noises*
Ok Man, you catched me with your epic "Drink"-Cover Version🤣👍
Glory! Hammer! These guys are absolutely amazing, and you HAVE to check out more Alestorm. This is all just so much fun, the cheeseball metal. You can't get it out of your head once you get it in!
God damnit, Tank. Now I can't unhear the "Drink" bit at the beginning. I'm highly amused by this, and it was a great reaction video.
Still waiting for the crossover album and tour
Hahaha. It was great! I can’t wait to do more. And I believe Alestorm and Gloryhammer have toured together already, from what I’ve read. Crossover album would be great though.
Great spot mate and obviously “Drink” made an impact on you as you remembered the lyrics....also love using it as your outro!
Cheeseball Metal, what a perfect name for the sub-genre)))) Now, is it Cheeseball Power Metal or Power Cheeseball Metal?
The best alestorm sons is f' with an anchor lol
The Fires of Ancient Cosmic Destiny - epic basically opera style written (not with the vocals, but its divided into acts) story based 12 minute beast of a song, still my favourite from them :D sure check out the lyrics for that one, even though i didnt want to listen to the song for a while after the first listen because of what happens there...
Yay! I love Gloryhammer so much. More, please!

One of my favorite Metal Bands! It is so cool that you reacted to them :D.
FIGHT FOR THE KING, FOR THE HAMMER AND THE RING!
Basically anything gloryhammer makes is gold. I suggest universe on fire, hail to crail, magic dragon, and that's just a small sample of the medium faves of mine.
The singer of Gloryhammer also shows up in Valhalleluja by Nanowar of Steel.
One of the reasons I did this video. Now I can do Valhallelujah. 🤘
Oh my god, I can't believe you made it to Gloryhammer! Hail Hoots!!
These boys are tons of fun...wonder of they ever done a co gig with Alestorm
Dude...LEGEND OF THE ASTRAL HAMMER - it doesn't get more POWER than being powered by lasers entwined in a star.
Of all the times I've listened to this and Alestorm's drink - I'd never noticed the similarity. But I watched your Drink video shortly before this one, so I also heard it right as you pointed it out. Gloryhammer songs are pretty addictive and I have woken up singing 'Universe on fire' so many times!! They're great fun live too.
Very nice that I came for your reaction on Hootsforce and also got a bit of "Blind and Frozen" from Beast in Black playing in the background 🍺 Edit: can we call it Flash Gordon Metal!?
I remember going to see gloryhammer in what I think was their first ever show in London UK Boston music rooms it was so badly promoted that I think there was probably only about 25 of us there and it was epic
There are few bands more goofy than Gloryhammer, and one you need to see is Grail Knights. They have a song featuring JOAKIM BRODEN OF SABATON called Pumping Iron Power. That needs to be your next power metal reaction.
Realizing like a month ago that there's a market for this kind of subject matter in song lyrics has restored some of my faith in humanity.
And now for ultimate cheese - Nanowar of Steel - Valhalleluya.
Nanowar with Gloryhammer singer Angus McFife. About furniture. I guess it could be called gospel metal? You'll love it :)
I love Gloryhammer! they are one of my personal favourite bands! :D
I remember my friend introducing me to this band by telling me that listening to their albums is like “going on the world’s most crack fuelled DND binge” 😂😂
1)Rise Of The Chaos Wizards
2)Gloryhammer
Yes they have a song that's the same as the band name.
Despite being a big Alestorn AND Gloryhammer fan, I never noticed the overlap between Hootsforce and Drink before...
Definitly Warhammer metal. I once spoke Thomas Winkler at a signing and there he told me that Warhammer is their main inspiration for Gloryhammer.
My man...im so thankful for that Tank Fact about what this song is about. Cause Ive been listening to this for mo ths and had NO idea
Thanks for the reaction. Didn't know them, now I do, checked them live: they sound really good live at Wacken.
I can only recommend the ENTIRE discography. Because every song is part of the narrative, and as it goes on the small details that were in previous songs make it magical. So yeah, react to the whole band. Yes.
I don't know if you've done any Amon Amarth yet, but 'Raven's Flight' has such a kick ass riff in it I don't think you'll be able to not headbang.
Ever since hearing Gloryhammer for the first time, ive been making people on job sites laugh when I refer to my Estwing as my Gloryhammer.
Christopher Bowes is also Zargothrax the evil chaos wizard!
*There's a song of Alestorm I came across : "F**#cked** With An Anchor". It's hilarious.*
You said the magic word, Warhammer 40k :D There's such thing as Warhammer metal :D I have a few recommendations: Rylanor's Last Stand - Original Song - ft. George Hoctor & Cpl. Corgi
. There's Bolt Thrower, they also just do Warhammer metal songs. There's more but I think this is a good start :D
My oldest daughter (she is four) loves this song and band 😂
You can’t really go wrong with any Gloryhammer song. The cheese factor is present through all of them. ;-D My favorite by them is Apocalypse 1992. But as you said the song Gloryhammer is a great way to go.
On a similar note of songs that are rehashed, several of the Nightwish albums really borrow elements from each other. I think it’s most apparent in the intro to Bye Bye Beautiful (Dark Passion Play) and Alpenglow (Endless Forms Most Beautiful). It’s basically the same key work with a couple notes difference at the end. You’re still pretty new to Nightwish but once you start listening to a lot of their stuff consistently you’ll notice the similarities.
the story cliffhanger popup reminded me of another musical storybook "The mechanisms, Old king cole" song 2 of a audio novel.
the singer of this band was a guest in valhallaleluja by nanowar of steel, hoping you can check it out sometime its awesome
One of the reasons I watched this was so I could see him before I did Valhallelujah. 🤘
Awesome! I didn't stop smiling all the way through it. Very good and entertaining.
Your face says it all tank they are so fun to listen to lol
That intro sounded exactly, I mean almost identically, like Ancient Forest of Elves by Luca Turilli, the frontman of Rhapsody of Fire. They're an Italian power metal band that basically writes Tolkien novels in album form.
I think I saw someone call it Intergalactic Space Metal recently lol. Thought that fit pretty well. You should definitely check out their self titled track next. That's what really got me started checking them out recently.
As for a new suggestion, not sure if anyone recommended Serenity - Lionheart to you yet. Austrian Symphonic Power Metal band. And while I can't necessarily say for all their music as I recently discovered them, that album is basically crusader metal and it's great lol. I've head banged so hard to that song despite it not really being that heavy. Interestingly enough, their singer is also the singer of Warkings.
Oh yeah! Been waiting for this one! They're one of my son's favorite bands. He's six by the way 😆
"Universe on Fire" and "Angus McFife" are also really great by Gloryhammer and were the songs that introduced me to this band :D
Awesome that you got to Gloryhammer! Universe on Fire next, it's the ultimate feel good -song. Imagine listening to that with sun setting behind you and a beer in your hand.. just a perfect combo!
If possible react to Equilibrium "Mana". It's a beautiful 16 min behemoth of a nordic folk metal song without lyrics that just takes you on a wonderful journey. Not reflectif of the bands general work but a clear sign of what they are capable of. Put simply, it's a piece of art
Another really good song is by a Japanese metal band called "ningen isu" with the song "heartless scat". They are more of a heavy metal sound. I came across them when I was looking for Japanese metal and rock to aid with my listening skills of Japanese, was not disappointed
Aw man, great reaction as always, but I still think you should have started with "The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee", because that's where their story begins. :D
few songs for you: ANCIENT BARDS - Through My Veins, ANKOR - Holy Wolf and more BABYMETAL and Bandmaid!
Fantasy Space Metal!
Now youre prepared for another epic colab: Nanowar of Steel - Valhalleluja!
A few songs of multiple bands I'd love you react to.
Nanowar of steel: "Vegan Velosiraptor", "Barbie MILF princess of the twilight", "... And then I noticed that she was a gargoyle"
Powerwolf: "Killers with the cross", "Incense and Iron", "Armata Strigoi"
Alestorm: "Magnetic North", "Alestorm", "Pirate Metal drinking crew"
Gloryhammer: "Angus McFife", "Rize of the Chaos wizard", "The land of unicorns"
And obviously more songs by those bands, but when/if you react to a few of those I'll probably update the list with some more.
Thank you, I had a great time!! Great music, lots of laughs, and singing along.
You can sing the chorus for "Drink" over the chorus of this one, it's the same tune to me. But like you said; writer of "Drink" in the band so nobody's hurt XD
More gloryhammer pls! More please!
Just...more.
Gloryhammer is Cris Bowes on all the CDs and his band but Mike Barber has been on keys as Zargothrax since '16 Hoots🤘💜🤘
Can you confirm if that’s Mike or Chris in the video? I saw Mike listed as a touring member, but since this is a video, I assumed it was Chris.
@@TankTheTech I'm 99% sure it's Mike in the video, they look exactly alike 😂 Mike even played when Gloryhammer toured with Alestorm 🤘
I think it's time for Valhalleluja, Nanowar + Glory Hammer ! I loved the reaction!
Love the vid.
In my personal opinion you need to go back and listen to their first album "Tales from the kingdom of Fife " all around a great album, and gives background to the characters the band portray
FINALLY!!!!!
You need Gloryhammer in your life!
Hey Tank, if you want some "Space Metal", look for the band "Gamma Ray", especially their concept album "Somewhere out in space".
If you did hoots force, you have to do Gloryhammer - Gloryhammer (Gloryhammer was released before hoots force). Its like a must see for the "universe" of hootsforce :P
I would really recommend "Rise of the chaos wizards" or "the unicorn invasion of dundee". Especially the solo in the second one
The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee is another great one :)
Now you definitely have to check Valhalleluja! And "Norwegian reggaeton" by Nanowar of Steel. To be honest, we all should have more Nanowar in our lives.
The comparison to Drink was a large discussion point when this was released. Not usually a good discussion. I don’t mind it though and it makes me wonder if ultimately the whole Gloryhammer universe is a mad drunk’s dream, which would be fun.
chorus is realy catchy and the videoclip is great !
HAIL HOOTS!
My 5yo loves watching the Wacken 2019 Live to spot the unicorn toys and costumes in the crowd.
"Unicorn Invasion of Dundee" is the very first chapter of this interdimensional saga. "Angus McFife" introduces you to the 1st Angus McFife; in this video he's the 13th.
Once you've gotten to know both Alestorm and Gloryhammer a bit, try Sabadu's "Mighty Polish Tank", parodying Sabaton. Christopher Bowes says he didn't do it but there are clear markers there.
FIGHT FOR THE KING, FOR THE HAMMER AND THE RING, FIGHT FOR THE ANCIENT STORY!
Next: "Gloryhammer" the song, from the Album Gloryhammer, by Gloryhammer, where you can learn about his Lightning Powered Goblin Smasher
Honestly, all their videos are super fun. You can't go wrong with Gloryhammer.
I also highly recommend checking out "Valhalleluja" by Nanowar of Steel now that you're acquainted with Angus McFife. Their song "And then I Noticed She Was a Gargoyle" is also great.
If you enjoyed "Drink" from Alestorm, check out "Drunken Dwarves" by Wind Rose. It will also get very stuck in your head, in a good way.
Oh man you keep picking out my favorite bands 🤘 Gloryhammer is such a hoot (wink wink, nudge nudge) to see live.
Check out:
The unicorn invasion of Dundee (a classic)
Universe on fire
Masters of the Galaxy
Gloryhammer
The Siege of Dunkeld
Goblin king of the Darkstorm Galaxy
Fun fact: they usually bring out a goblin on stage to kill during the show. Coincidentally, they toured Europe with Nekrogoblikon at the beginning of this year 😁
Chris writes the music for Gloryhammer but doesn't play live anymore for the band. The guy in this video is someone else. Oh, and did you know Chris started a new band called WIZARDTHRONE? You really should check them out when they're releasing new content. Love the show! Greetings from the Netherlands!
Are you 100% sure that’s not Chris in the video? Cause I saw they have a touring keyboard player, but this isn’t a tour, nor is it live, so I assumed it was Chris.
@@TankTheTech Some of the videos for the most recent album didn't have Chris in them because Chris was touring Canada with Alestorm at the time.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Makes total sense. Thanks everyone!
Heard you say space metal, and immediately Star One came to mind - they literally have an album called Space Metal. It's Arjen Lucassen's another project ;) They have one Live DVD, would be awesome to see you react to the song Intergalactic Space Crusaders! Cheers!
Ayreon also played that song live, but I like Star One version (2003) far better
Love your channel! I came here searching for Nanowar of Steel reactions, and now I'm listening to Gloryhammer, usually not my cup of tea, but so funny :-D
Awesome! Thank you!
When Gloryhammer's first music video was released on RUclips (Angus McFife), their drummer (Ben Turk) got involved in a discussion in the comments about his facial hair. Someone had (rather nonsensically) criticized his beard for being effeminate, and Ben entered the comments to earnestly ask for suggestions for what he should do differently.
Gloryhammer - gloryhammer is another good one
Hellyeah dude welcome to the Hootsforce
