The Following year? Gloryhammer headlined. For absolute, artery hardening levels of glorious cheese, "The Unicorn Invasion of Dundee" from their first album is a ridiculously awesome track.

Didn't think Hootsforce would make the cut; I was expecting Gloryhammer to be the first Gloryhammer song. Angus McFife XIII has some great tales in Gloryhammer universe. :) For Saturday Morning Cartoon Metal, I'd suggest Grailknights - Pumping Iron Power (feat. Joakim Brodén from Sabaton). Yes.
Fun fact, the lead singer from Gloryhammer also featured in Nanowar of Steel's song Valhallelujah. It is all a big, weird circle of comedy metal my man.

I bought their album two weeks ago after seeing a reaction vid, and it is great. “Land of the Unicorns” and “Gloryhammer” are my favourites. What I’ve learned so far: Dundee and Fife are very important, there is a hammer, there is a Hootsman and lots of hoots, and there are unicorns. There is a live concert of them on WackenTV of their gig at Wacken 2019, and it is great! It also has the starting times of each song in the description, so youcan pick songs out :-)
The Fires of Ancient Cosmic Destiny - epic basically opera style written (not with the vocals, but its divided into acts) story based 12 minute beast of a song, still my favourite from them :D sure check out the lyrics for that one, even though i didnt want to listen to the song for a while after the first listen because of what happens there...
FIGHT FOR THE KING, FOR THE HAMMER AND THE RING, FIGHT FOR THE ANCIENT STORY! Next: "Gloryhammer" the song, from the Album Gloryhammer, by Gloryhammer, where you can learn about his Lightning Powered Goblin Smasher Honestly, all their videos are super fun. You can't go wrong with Gloryhammer. I also highly recommend checking out "Valhalleluja" by Nanowar of Steel now that you're acquainted with Angus McFife. Their song "And then I Noticed She Was a Gargoyle" is also great. If you enjoyed "Drink" from Alestorm, check out "Drunken Dwarves" by Wind Rose. It will also get very stuck in your head, in a good way.
You can’t really go wrong with any Gloryhammer song. The cheese factor is present through all of them. ;-D My favorite by them is Apocalypse 1992. But as you said the song Gloryhammer is a great way to go. On a similar note of songs that are rehashed, several of the Nightwish albums really borrow elements from each other. I think it’s most apparent in the intro to Bye Bye Beautiful (Dark Passion Play) and Alpenglow (Endless Forms Most Beautiful). It’s basically the same key work with a couple notes difference at the end. You’re still pretty new to Nightwish but once you start listening to a lot of their stuff consistently you’ll notice the similarities.
I can only recommend the ENTIRE discography. Because every song is part of the narrative, and as it goes on the small details that were in previous songs make it magical. So yeah, react to the whole band. Yes.
Glory! Hammer! These guys are absolutely amazing, and you HAVE to check out more Alestorm. This is all just so much fun, the cheeseball metal. You can't get it out of your head once you get it in! Hahaha. It was great! I can’t wait to do more. And I believe Alestorm and Gloryhammer have toured together already, from what I’ve read. Crossover album would be great though.
Basically anything gloryhammer makes is gold. I suggest universe on fire, hail to crail, magic dragon, and that's just a small sample of the medium faves of mine.
And now for ultimate cheese - Nanowar of Steel - Valhalleluya. Nanowar with Gloryhammer singer Angus McFife. About furniture. I guess it could be called gospel metal? You'll love it :)
The concept of a flying submarine is absolutely ridiculous, and i want to know more. Also, Tank - you've *got* to react to some Van Canto. I recommend their "Fear of the Dark" video from Wacken 2014 for a live act, or their original song "Lost Forever" for a better-mixed track, albeit not a live one. Enjoy!
Gloryhammer are awesome, totally fun and over the top whilst retaining fantastic musicianship. You should check out their songs :- Masters Of The Galaxy Universe On Fire Gloryhammer There are lots of Scottish references in their tunes due to Chris being from Scotland, you’ll hear mention of Dundee, Fife, Inverness, Glasgow, etc. 😆 Also you need to get onto Orden Ogan, with their epic songs : In The Dawn Of The A.I. Gunman The Things We Believe In. 🤘🏻🙂
I think I saw someone call it Intergalactic Space Metal recently lol. Thought that fit pretty well. You should definitely check out their self titled track next. That's what really got me started checking them out recently. As for a new suggestion, not sure if anyone recommended Serenity - Lionheart to you yet. Austrian Symphonic Power Metal band. And while I can't necessarily say for all their music as I recently discovered them, that album is basically crusader metal and it's great lol. I've head banged so hard to that song despite it not really being that heavy. Interestingly enough, their singer is also the singer of Warkings.
If possible react to Equilibrium "Mana". It's a beautiful 16 min behemoth of a nordic folk metal song without lyrics that just takes you on a wonderful journey. Not reflectif of the bands general work but a clear sign of what they are capable of. Put simply, it's a piece of art
I like how they link the spaceship's damage control and firepower to the music. When the music slows or is played by Zargothrax, the Hootsforce submarine takes more damage then when Hootsforce starts singing again the tide of battle turns
The first time I met them they opened up for Alestorm in CA. And they put in a better show than Alestorm. The following year I saw them headline in my city. Thomas is the nicest guy ever. Took pics and ate pizza with him. I absolutely love this band, best stage presence, honestly.
When Gloryhammer's first music video was released on RUclips (Angus McFife), their drummer (Ben Turk) got involved in a discussion in the comments about his facial hair. Someone had (rather nonsensically) criticized his beard for being effeminate, and Ben entered the comments to earnestly ask for suggestions for what he should do differently.
Oh man you keep picking out my favorite bands 🤘 Gloryhammer is such a hoot (wink wink, nudge nudge) to see live. Check out: The unicorn invasion of Dundee (a classic) Universe on fire Masters of the Galaxy Gloryhammer The Siege of Dunkeld Goblin king of the Darkstorm Galaxy Fun fact: they usually bring out a goblin on stage to kill during the show. Coincidentally, they toured Europe with Nekrogoblikon at the beginning of this year 😁
HAIL HOOTS! My 5yo loves watching the Wacken 2019 Live to spot the unicorn toys and costumes in the crowd. "Unicorn Invasion of Dundee" is the very first chapter of this interdimensional saga. "Angus McFife" introduces you to the 1st Angus McFife; in this video he's the 13th. Once you've gotten to know both Alestorm and Gloryhammer a bit, try Sabadu's "Mighty Polish Tank", parodying Sabaton. Christopher Bowes says he didn't do it but there are clear markers there.
Another really good song is by a Japanese metal band called "ningen isu" with the song "heartless scat". They are more of a heavy metal sound. I came across them when I was looking for Japanese metal and rock to aid with my listening skills of Japanese, was not disappointed
Awesome that you got to Gloryhammer! Universe on Fire next, it's the ultimate feel good -song. Imagine listening to that with sun setting behind you and a beer in your hand.. just a perfect combo!
You said the magic word, Warhammer 40k :D There's such thing as Warhammer metal :D I have a few recommendations: Rylanor's Last Stand - Original Song - ft. George Hoctor & Cpl. Corgi . There's Bolt Thrower, they also just do Warhammer metal songs. There's more but I think this is a good start :D
The comparison to Drink was a large discussion point when this was released. Not usually a good discussion. I don’t mind it though and it makes me wonder if ultimately the whole Gloryhammer universe is a mad drunk’s dream, which would be fun.

RavensaursRex : Also known as "What if Warhammer 40k wasn't depressing as balls." E.H. Bienz: I was just gonna dismissively call this "Alestorm in SPAAAACE" but turns out that's literally what it is. Michael Campbell : There's been something about this band which has been bothering me for a long time: How can Zargothrax be manning the band's keyboards when he's their arch-nemesis? Simple! The Zargothrax with the band is actually a pan-dimensional champion of justice who wanders the multiverse destroying evil versions of himself! I mean, it's SO obvious! *And my personal top 3 in no particular order* AnonEyeMouse : The perfect balance of epically stupid and stupidly epic. CaptExpendable : I didn't believe my wife when she said "So I found a music video with submarines fighting an evil wizard... in space." Then we put this on. Thank you Gloryhammer for protecting us from whatever drugs were required to make this. *_I like it!_* Sinyx : New Guardians of the Galaxy with Thor looks great!
All three of Glorhammer's albums are great. I hope Return to the Kingdom of Fife will be recorded soon. Chris recently started another band which is Wizard themed, Wizardthrone. But they didn't release anything yet. The lineup is: V. Morbistopheles Jones (Æther Realm) - Vocals, bass M. Archistrategos Barber (Gloryhammer) - Guitars M. Xaviculus Bell (Forlorn Citadel) - Guitars C. Hyperiax Bowes (Alestorm, Gloryhammer) - Synthesizers E. Wizardthrone Brown (Nekrogoblikon, Vale Of Pnath) - Drums
A few songs of multiple bands I'd love you react to. Nanowar of steel: "Vegan Velosiraptor", "Barbie MILF princess of the twilight", "... And then I noticed that she was a gargoyle" Powerwolf: "Killers with the cross", "Incense and Iron", "Armata Strigoi" Alestorm: "Magnetic North", "Alestorm", "Pirate Metal drinking crew" Gloryhammer: "Angus McFife", "Rize of the Chaos wizard", "The land of unicorns" And obviously more songs by those bands, but when/if you react to a few of those I'll probably update the list with some more.
Very nice that I came for your reaction on Hootsforce and also got a bit of "Blind and Frozen" from Beast in Black playing in the background 🍺 Edit: can we call it Flash Gordon Metal!?
Heard you say space metal, and immediately Star One came to mind - they literally have an album called Space Metal. It's Arjen Lucassen's another project ;) They have one Live DVD, would be awesome to see you react to the song Intergalactic Space Crusaders! Cheers!
I'd not noticed the rif copy! Good spot. I love Gloryhammer, they are silly and do not take themselves seriously. They are super fun live, start with a cardboard cutout of tom Jones, encourage crowd surfing for questlords of Inverness etc. It's the only place I've seen both someone in a unicorn onesie and full plate in the mosh pit, the full plate person also crowdsurfed! I'm going to say you need to start at the beginning with Angus Mcfife or Unicorn invasion of Dundee (a song which makes me giggle whenever I hear it!) Also you can now react to Valhalelula as you know who Angus is!
That keyboard part is probably one of those moments where he liked the idea and wanted to use in another way Another silly one is energia by russkaja. Just watch, it will probably make you laugh. Also I will still recommend apocalypse orchestra. Not sure what genre they fit into, but we'll worth the listen. Very unknown, but yet really good
Love the vid. In my personal opinion you need to go back and listen to their first album "Tales from the kingdom of Fife " all around a great album, and gives background to the characters the band portray

Basically anything gloryhammer makes is gold. I suggest universe on fire, hail to crail, magic dragon, and that's just a small sample of the medium faves of mine.
FINALLY!!!!!
You need Gloryhammer in your life!
And now for ultimate cheese - Nanowar of Steel - Valhalleluya.
Nanowar with Gloryhammer singer Angus McFife. About furniture. I guess it could be called gospel metal? You'll love it :)
Chris Bowes has a new group coming out in Spring next year that he worked on with the singer from Necrogoblin. It's called WIZARDTHRONE.
Enjoy!
Oh my god, I can't believe you made it to Gloryhammer! Hail Hoots!!
One of my favorite Metal Bands! It is so cool that you reacted to them :D.
FIGHT FOR THE KING, FOR THE HAMMER AND THE RING!
I would really recommend "Rise of the chaos wizards" or "the unicorn invasion of dundee". Especially the solo in the second one
Gloryhammer are awesome, totally fun and over the top whilst retaining fantastic musicianship. You should check out their songs :-
Masters Of The Galaxy
Universe On Fire
Gloryhammer
There are lots of Scottish references in their tunes due to Chris being from Scotland, you’ll hear mention of Dundee, Fife, Inverness, Glasgow, etc. 😆
Also you need to get onto Orden Ogan,
with their epic songs :
In The Dawn Of The A.I.
Gunman
The Things We Believe In.
We're getting a guitar manufacturing history lesson in the middle of a Gloryhammer reaction, unexpected but informative!
Ok Man, you catched me with your epic "Drink"-Cover Version🤣👍
The first time I met them they opened up for Alestorm in CA. And they put in a better show than Alestorm. The following year I saw them headline in my city. Thomas is the nicest guy ever. Took pics and ate pizza with him. I absolutely love this band, best stage presence, honestly.
My oldest daughter (she is four) loves this song and band 😂
When Gloryhammer's first music video was released on RUclips (Angus McFife), their drummer (Ben Turk) got involved in a discussion in the comments about his facial hair. Someone had (rather nonsensically) criticized his beard for being effeminate, and Ben entered the comments to earnestly ask for suggestions for what he should do differently.
Oh man you keep picking out my favorite bands 🤘 Gloryhammer is such a hoot (wink wink, nudge nudge) to see live.
Check out:
The unicorn invasion of Dundee (a classic)
Universe on fire
Masters of the Galaxy
Gloryhammer
The Siege of Dunkeld
Goblin king of the Darkstorm Galaxy
Fun fact: they usually bring out a goblin on stage to kill during the show. Coincidentally, they toured Europe with Nekrogoblikon at the beginning of this year 😁
The Siege of Dunkeld! Just do it!
Quickly! Come join the battle against Zargothrax!
Thank you, I had a great time!! Great music, lots of laughs, and singing along.
Fantasy Space Metal!
Now youre prepared for another epic colab: Nanowar of Steel - Valhalleluja!
Another really good song is by a Japanese metal band called "ningen isu" with the song "heartless scat". They are more of a heavy metal sound. I came across them when I was looking for Japanese metal and rock to aid with my listening skills of Japanese, was not disappointed
Oh yeah! Been waiting for this one! They're one of my son's favorite bands. He's six by the way 😆
Awesome that you got to Gloryhammer!
Corgi
"Universe on Fire" and "Angus McFife" are also really great by Gloryhammer and were the songs that introduced me to this band :D
1:04 lets go! 1:41 ah hold on ... absolutely sing Drink over that 3:25 theyre having fun , so by default we are too 3:43 wasnt wrong , woke up singing it in the morning 6:02 history of guitars / copyright 8:18 wanted keyboard again.... ya know what lets go back , singing over 9:06 Warhammer Metal
will say reading the comments of the original video is one of the best parts for me. some examples
Addy Arts
: 3:14 (or 7:37 for here) CAPTAIN! We're under heavy fire and our systems are failing! What are your orders? K E Y C H A N G E ! ! ! !
Delta GS
:I don't always listen to Gloryhammer but when i do the neighbors do too.
RavensaursRex
: Also known as "What if Warhammer 40k wasn't depressing as balls."
E.H. Bienz: I was just gonna dismissively call this "Alestorm in SPAAAACE" but turns out that's literally what it is.
Michael Campbell
: There's been something about this band which has been bothering me for a long time: How can Zargothrax be manning the band's keyboards when he's their arch-nemesis? Simple! The Zargothrax with the band is actually a pan-dimensional champion of justice who wanders the multiverse destroying evil versions of himself! I mean, it's SO obvious!
*And my personal top 3 in no particular order*
AnonEyeMouse
: The perfect balance of epically stupid and stupidly epic.
CaptExpendable
: I didn't believe my wife when she said "So I found a music video with submarines fighting an evil wizard... in space." Then we put this on. Thank you Gloryhammer for protecting us from whatever drugs were required to make this. *_I like it!_*
Sinyx
: New Guardians of the Galaxy with Thor looks great!
Golden rule of all great light hearted power metal: if the chorus sounds a bit like a national anthem... You're doing it right!
I don't know if you've done any Amon Amarth yet, but 'Raven's Flight' has such a kick ass riff in it I don't think you'll be able to not headbang.
All three of Glorhammer's albums are great.
I hope Return to the Kingdom of Fife will be recorded soon.
Chris recently started another band which is Wizard themed, Wizardthrone. But they didn't release anything yet.
The lineup is:
V. Morbistopheles Jones (Æther Realm) - Vocals, bass
M. Archistrategos Barber (Gloryhammer) - Guitars
M. Xaviculus Bell (Forlorn Citadel) - Guitars
C. Hyperiax Bowes (Alestorm, Gloryhammer) - Synthesizers
E. Wizardthrone Brown (Nekrogoblikon, Vale Of Pnath) - Drums
A few songs of multiple bands I'd love you react to.
Nanowar of steel: "Vegan Velosiraptor", "Barbie MILF princess of the twilight", "... And then I noticed that she was a gargoyle"
Powerwolf: "Killers with the cross", "Incense and Iron", "Armata Strigoi"
Alestorm: "Magnetic North", "Alestorm", "Pirate Metal drinking crew"
Gloryhammer: "Angus McFife", "Rize of the Chaos wizard", "The land of unicorns"
And obviously more songs by those bands, but when/if you react to a few of those I'll probably update the list with some more.
I think it's time for Valhalleluja, Nanowar + Glory Hammer ! I loved the reaction!
*There's a song of Alestorm I came across : "F**#cked** With An Anchor". It's hilarious.*
Gloryhammer - gloryhammer is another good one
Very nice that I came for your reaction on Hootsforce and also got a bit of "Blind and Frozen" from Beast in Black playing in the background 🍺 Edit: can we call it Flash Gordon Metal!?
imagine having one of the biggest goofballs in the world play the villain of your story. god i love gloryhammer
I really like Hail to Crail or Goblin King of the Darkstorm Galaxy. Or even Hollywood Hootsman.
Yay! I love Gloryhammer so much. More, please!
You did Nanowar of Steel, and now you did Gloryhammer... now you have to do Valhalleluja!!! You won’t regret it!!! :)
Heard you say space metal, and immediately Star One came to mind - they literally have an album called Space Metal. It's Arjen Lucassen's another project ;) They have one Live DVD, would be awesome to see you react to the song Intergalactic Space Crusaders! Cheers!
Ayreon also played that song live, but I like Star One version (2003) far better
If you listen to their albums from beginning to end they tell the whole storys of the journeys of Angus McFife and Angus McFife XIII
I'm going to say you need to start at the beginning with Angus Mcfife or Unicorn invasion of Dundee (a song which makes me giggle whenever I hear it!)
Also you can now react to Valhalelula as you know who Angus is!
That keyboard part is probably one of those moments where he liked the idea and wanted to use in another way
Another silly one is energia by russkaja. Just watch, it will probably make you laugh.
Also I will still recommend apocalypse orchestra. Not sure what genre they fit into, but we'll worth the listen. Very unknown, but yet really good
Gloryhammer - What happens when the entire party multiclass into Bard.
Love the vid.
In my personal opinion you need to go back and listen to their first album "Tales from the kingdom of Fife " all around a great album, and gives background to the characters the band portray
