Thank you so much! A very well-read Loremaster, indeed. May the gods favor you.
🤘😎
Thank you guys! Cannot wait to check out more of your music!
Duuuude! What you need next is their Yggdrasil and also Powersnake. While im on it i put a third on in there. Prophecy of ragnarök
@@TankTheTech You need to check out Fire Blood and Steel! Was the first one I knew from them and got me hooked from the get go :D \m/
Hey, I'm not Pagan, but if you guys said "may the Gods favor you" to me, I'd be amped
Their music is so comforting. There's nothing ridiculously mindblowing, but both albums are always something you feel good while listen to
Their videos are like mini-viking movies. With complete stories. Which is nice.
Their music is just fun, happy Viking-musicians high on mead, and I love it
Power Metal doesn’t need to have a fantasy element to be “Power Metal”. I include these guys, along with Sabaton, and DragonForce to be Power Metal.
Yeah, for me power metal typically just has a theme and is very fast & melodic. Powerwolf is a nice example BC their name implies Power metal but they don't fit the stereotype. Sabaton doesn't care for labels. Yet, I very much consider them power metal. Amaranth too, they don't focus on fantasy.
I ended up running into Brothers of Metal when spotify hit me with their song "Yggrasil" I heavily suggest that one if you intend to do another song from them.
same that song is awesome
Exactly the same song that got me into them lol
Same here *lol* it is a fun band to listen to. And Yggrasil is great.
Yes, “Yggdrasil” and “One” are my two favorites.
Yggdrasil is my favorite song of theirs
A reaction to Brothers of Metal?! I've been waiting an ACTUAL year for this moment! I really hope you like them. Almost all of their songs follow 2 types of content, ¹) Nordic Mythology, both common and uncommon ²) standing together as warriors and friends, united by camaraderie and METAL
This band reignited my love for looking at different bands, and giving something new a chance to grow
The song Yggdrasil is my favorite with Brothers of metal.
Having become a HUGE Brothers of Metal fan, this review was great! Thank you!
This band has a great story. A bunch of friends who started a band for the fun of it and were honestly surprised they had a bunch of fans.
Was so thrilled to see you reacting to BOM. They certainly aren't the most intense band out there, but they're just a lot of fun, and her vocals are incredible throughout both albums.
Brothers (and a sister) of metal are not just great musicians, but also appear to be great people.
I mean I liked them after Ylva wore a DS3 hoodie in on of their vlogs
Their music is not intended to blow minds, they are doing classic heavy/power metal the best they can. And they can really well. They have no boring songs as far as I'm concerned.
Yes! Love these guys. Ylva has quickly become one of my favorite female vocalists. I'll be interested to see what you think of this. I know power metal isn't really your thing, but the fun factor with this band might just win you over.
Brothers of Metal is such a great band to watch live, a real party band, gives a lot of them selves and includes the crowd. Funfact: They are practically Sabaton’s “house band “ on SOA ( Sabaton open air festival) as they have played there several times.
Super happy you came across Brothers of Metal. I've discovered them a little over a year ago and love them dearly. :)
Great to see your reaction! This song was my "powersong" when I was doing my mandatory military service. Cheers from Finland!
I love this band they always look like they are having a great time
You've finally done Brothers of Metal! They're my 2nd favorite band. Hope to see them soon on here.
Ps. Do Chain breakers or Yggdrasil!
Another song by them you'll definitely like his Prophecies of Ragnarok as it's definitely their catchiest
Mead song, Hel and Chain breaker aswell!
Pretty much all their sogns as catchy af :)
You made my day with this reaction, Tank!🤩 Thank you. I love this band. Both their albums are great, I would totally recommend them. Weaver of Fate is one of my daughter's favorite lullabies.❤️ As you said, it's not something super serious, it's fun. Awesome positive vibe.🤘🏻
Weaver of Fate is my favorite from them too.
If you want to hear more, I highly recommend "Hel" and "To the Skys and Beyond". The whole catalog is great, but those two are just awesome.
Always enjoy my bit of trve power whatever metal from sweden. Interesting with this band is, that they've released their first album 'Prophecies of Ragnarök' by theirown and got such a good feedback on it, that AFM reached out to them, signed them and re-released the album. They defenity do nothing crazy never heard stuff, but their mixture is brilliant. My favourite and introduction is 'Defenders of Walhalla'. As regards more agressive tracks I'd suggest 'Hel' from the recent album Emblas Saga.
Ylva Erikson is a wonderful vocalist, ya'all shoud listen to her feature perfomance on Orden Ogans ballad 'Alone in the Dark'. It showcases her vocal abilities in a different way (and Orden Ogan is great to listen too 🤪).
Uplifting power metal is one of my favorite genres. No it's not groundbreaking but it makes you feel good. It reminds me of Metal is For Everyone. Good stuff!
waited so long, that you will check out these guys! Brothers of Metal definitely deserve more spotlight. Great guitar work in all of their songs and they make really good use of all of the three singers and have allways good and funny videos :) this is their most "pop" song so far i think in case of structure, but a catchy tune for sure. Hope to see more of them at your channel! \m/
I found this band via Spotify with their song Powersnake and since then, they are one of my favorites, behind Sabaton and Powerwolf. Their songs Prophecy of Ragnorok and Yggdrasil are one of my favorites by them
great taste 👍
Oy man, are you me? I discovered them via powersnake too, at a tike at which i had been listening to powerwolf and sabaton for a while already.
“Hel” by them is an awesome one Tank
Damn, this morning I've watched many music video I really like, including this song, and I just told myself '' what if the guy of roadie reactions would listen to this song ?? '' I love Brothers of Metal and their last album is absolutely amazing, this song is my favorite one. It"s a masterpiece ! Glad to see you are reviewing this song. I'm gonna watch your video right away :D
Ylva is a goddess. Best voice i ever heard live.
I recommend Hel from the same Album and prophecy of ragnarok from the first album.
Hell yeah! Nice to see you take a look at the Brothers of Metal! Would recommend "Hel", "Powersnake" and "Emblas Saga" from their latest album.... or "Chain Breaker"... or "Njord"... let's be real... just check out the whole album! Awesome stuff! ;D
Keep on rocking my man, you're doing good work here!
The bigger guy with the shield on his stomach is Mats Nilsson, also known as one of the best swedish Dota 2 commentators on Twitch.
Chainbreaker, Prophecy of Ragnarok, and Mead Song are also great songs to check out
My all time favorite song of them so far is "Prophecy of Ragnarök". It is on the heavier side of their songs, but still really catchy. A more fun one is "The mead song". They sure like to have fun making the videos!
Great review, like always!
I love them so bad. They are so much fun live and their music is just the right amount of "we will fight together" framed by good vocals and nice guitars
watched this video for the first time last night.. You're going to love it!
I found BoM just a few months back (from the time of this recording) and I was waiting for you to react to one of their songs and Im glad you did. Although I know this one comment may not be enough to get a reaction, their songs Prophecy of Ragnarok and Yggrasil are absolutely fucking incredible. BoM reminds me so much of Sabaton in the sense that you know what you are going to get. You will always get something fun and refreshing but nothing over the top or mindbogglingly good. hallå! from Wisconsin
This song is a metal evergreen...it climbing instantly into the ear of the listener and get stuck in mind.
I hope you enjoy Emblas Saga when you check it out! It was my fave album of 2020 and I still listen to it often. Love these guys.
I just found this band a few months ago, and I still listen to them every day. They're one of those bands that don't have any "bad" songs. I hope the eventually blow up and I can't wait to see them live in the States. Thanks for the great video!
This band extremely quickly rose to my top ten bands. The next song you should do from them has to be Njord, a much heavier song focusing on the male lead vocals. (Great workout song as well.)
In 2019, RUclips recommended me "Prophecy of Ragnarök" and I've became a fan instantly. In the same year, my partner asked me if I'd like to join him to a small festival called Rockharz but i refused.
Well... a few days later, BOM were announced for this festival.
When my partner came back, he told me, that almost nobody had heard of this band before and the few people (compared to bands like Powerwolf) that were standing in front of the stage at the beginning of their performance were mainly just curious. But their live performance was one of the best at the whole festival...
I'm still upset that I refused to join him! So when he asked me if I'd like to join him for the same festival in 2020, I said yes.
But it could't take place due to Corona. The same thing happened in 2021.
Well, now we do have tickets for 2022 and I still have the hope, that they might play again there!
Usually the videos are even more comedy. Especially the guy turning into a goat always gets killed at the end of every single video in some hilarious way.
Hahahahahaha. No way. Now I gotta keep an eye out for that in other videos.
In the video for One, he gets killed partway through.
I love this band. Ride of the Valkyries is brilliant
Like Beast in Black, Brothers of Metal songs are just so damn fun and catchy. Give Weaver of Fate a try for an absolutely gorgeous ballad.
This band has, in their song "One", one of the best _"you're NOT alone"_ songs ever to grace heavy metal genre.
Really digging your channel. Even when watching reactions for songs I don't care for, I usually get a little tidbit of knowledge about tone or something or a little knowledge of gear history. Super cool
Thanks!
finally you are listening to them, fucking love this band
There is a legend that the forrests and mountains of Norway and Sweden are littered with the bodies of metalbands that went out to shoot vidoes and record covers, but because the were city boys (and girls) they couldn't find their way out, and died.
Hahahahahaha
Love that you reacted to Brothers of Metal! You should really listen to Hel, it's very good!
Lighthearted & fun power metal like this is some of my favorite music for listening to while I'm working. Pop the old IEMs in, turn it up and get shit done. And I love this video too.
Normal day at north :D They surely nailed the humour side in this vid!
I totay love their first album. A nice powermetal mix with influence of Blind Guardian, Sabaton, Hammerfall. I love the lyrics and the videos.
Oh my Odin, they've turned Willow into a Goat, those draugr!
At least they didn’t kill him this time.
When this video first came out, I laughed so hard when Willow turned into a goat. At the same time I was happy he survived the video.
@@ntolman We can only hope best for him at this stage. On comments they stated "Well, we might have eaten the goat. Or at least one goat." so there's that.
Thank you for getting me into so much new music . This one is a Killer .
Greetings from Germany Zapp
I love Brothers of Metal. Honestly I love most of the bands you've reviewed.
You should give Seven Spires - Gods of Debauchery a listen. Discovered them recently, and I'm obsessed.
Didn´t know this band, so thanks for showing me such great music!
Can't remember the first song I heard by them, popped up on my streaming channel, but was a fan right off. Bought both albums and love all the tracks. And you're right European metal videos remind me of videos when I was younger. Kinda of a story element with performance.
Here i am binge watching your Sabaton reactions and you whip out the other Swedish band from Falun that i also happen to be a MASSIVE fan of. Today is a good day. They arent anything groundbreaking but they make fun music with good nordic stories and dont take themselves too seriously. Hel is a bit of a darker tone, but The Mead Song definely isnt. Glad to see you enjoying then.
These guys are awesome, if you wanna listen to more stuff from them, pretty much every track on their album Emblas Saga is incredible. Be warned that the song the album is named after is like 7 minutes long.
Out of all of them I highly recommend Ride of the Valkyries, Powersnake, Weavers of Fate and Theft of the Hammer
Can’t believe I missed this reaction. BoM are one of my favorites when I just want to vibe as well as another band I’d kill to see live! Another top tier Viking metal band is Leaves Eyes. They have another powerhouse female vocal as well
Oh I lovveee BOM 🖤 also your beard is looking epic
the best thing from music videos is when you can tell the band is having fun, and with BOM you can really tell they just had a lot of fun whenever they put out a music video
I love this band to bits. Their music is straight up telling tales from Norse Mythology and their sound is awesome. Their video's is always filled with humor. Also they are from Falun.. Same town as Sabaton.
Finally your BoM reaction , thanks Tank
Just discovered these guys a few days ago. I love them
good to see a reaction to brothers of metal, i really hope you check out some of there other tracks though.
Can't wait for the prophecy of ragnarök reaction. Keep up the good work
This was in my top 3 albums of last year!!! If you want a primer on the creation of the world according to Norse mythology check out the title track from it
I always consider brothers of metal songs as my lullaby..some of their songs very soothing and comforting..its calm my mind
Hey Tank! Great reaction! 😊 Perhaps not the best song to start with when it comes to Brothers of Metal though. They have a sarcastic influence in their music. If you are going to do another one, I would pick one of those:
Yggdrasil
Prophecy of Ragnarok
Cheers,
William
Also, every music they've made looks like it was a lot of fun to make
I just found this channel tonight and duuuuuude it's so nice to find a channel that is DIRECTLY up my musical alley... especially considering how off beat some of the shit I listen to is (looking at you Nanowar of Steel.) Definitely subbed now, great shit man.
Thanks a ton, man!
I've been pestering Alex Hefner to listen to them. So happy you have gave them ago!!!!! Spent so much time watching all your sabaton reactions.
This was quite enjoyable indeed.
Great reaction video! It's POWER METAL!
So Happy You checked theses guys out. If you want to listen to a song that will give you the urge to jump into a dragon boat and go Viking, listen to “Njord” on the Emblas Saga Album. I love how this band doesn’t take themselves to seriously. The just wast to make music and have fun.
I listened to this like 200 times, glad i found my way to your reaction since you appreciate it as much as i do...btw im not a metal head but im really weird so i can enjoy everything !
I love seeing the (rise of) Solar guitars in the videos of many metal bands. The guitars look amazing, i kinda want one some day, but first i need to learn playing alot better. For now i'm really into Harley benton Guitars on which i can learn and enjoy for years to come.
Gitar solo with double drumtempo let me think a little of old songs of Sonata Arctica. As always thx for your elusive instruments info and other xtra info
We need more!!!
Weaver of Fate and Powersnake are two of my favorite songs from Brothers of Metal. Definitely check those out!
I've watched three or four Brothers of Metal videos and they're all proudly silly like this. This was pretty much what I expected, easy-listening Viking melodic metal.
The other song they have a video for, "Yggdrasil" is both different and very good as well.
And my personal favourite with Brothers of Metal is their song "Hel" Also from Emblas Saga.
Quick fact about Norse mythos that you might already know. The first two humans that Oden created were Ask and Embla, made out of the fallen tree trunks of an Ash tree (Ask in Swedish) and the trunk of an Elm tree (alm in Swedish)
And when we are on the topic of Viking metal. When will we get more Amon Amarath? You said you would listen to more after your reaction to "The Way of the Viking" and I have been waiting ;)
Not that I'm complaining since you have introduced me to a bunch of new artist!
Would like a reaction to "Raise your Horns" by them as you can see both stage production and instruments in it.
Once again, Thanks for a banger of a reaction.
yes that song is awesome
Nice intro bro 🤘🤘 orbit culture!!
Brothers of Metal ... i had their song "Prophecy of Ragnarok" on repeat for literally months, even before their album came out. Just a random youtube recommendation that stuck.
Whee you finally did it! Expected something like this but I´m glad you enjoyed it nontheless, ich just love it while driving or striving through public transport.
I hope to see more of them on your channel, like many suggested Yggrasil or One, Hel, Prophecy of Ragnarök..
Thanks for being awesome Tank
Cheers from Austria! \m/
Other Suggestion:
ADESTRIA - COMPROMISED
blast.
I've been listening to them for a while, as they'd come up on my random feed here and there. I was pleased to discover that not only are they from Dalarna, but specifically Falun, and we all know what other huge band is from there. I am planning a trip to Metalfest 2024 in Czechia, as BOM are on the bill.
When I get asked what makes Brothers of Metal different from other viking metal bands, I like to point out that they have two lead singers and a shaman.
I have said it before... the word for this band is: FUN :D
Just watched the video to Don Broco's new song Endorphins. The song is amazing, and I absolutely love the video.
If you’re interested. The song title, „Kaunaz“ (or Kennaz) and Dagaz are the Elder Futhark runes for K and D. Kaunaz also meaning „torch“ and Dagaz meaning „day“. So „torch day“ kind of fits the song lyrics.
The Folk- viking metal band from the Netherlands "Heidevolk" started around 2002 all songs with a couple in english about nature, germanic folklore and History about Gelderland (a province of the Netherland)
Something from a Sweden's neighbor, do check out Stam1na. They've got awesome songs and music videos. Some are made with a bit of tongue in cheek attitude, some are just compilations of live footage. Their style is kinda hard to put under a label, because there's influenses from so my categories to be found from their songs. I'd like to see your reaction to one of their songs, it doesn't matter what song you pick. Though I'd recommend songs like Lääke, Ateistin kiitos (memento mori), Valtiaan uudet vaateet or Yhdeksän tien päät.
I'll be seeing them in February in Munich, where they're on stage with Wind Rose and Orden Ogan, who are headlining that show. At least, I hope so, because the Orden Ogan tour was postponed two times already.
2 of their songs that offer a little different sound are Hel and One.
Yes! Yes! You just made my day. BOM is actually playing out in my shop right now, lol. They have a lot of variety on the folk spectrum. Some songs are full on folk, others are mostly metal. All their songs are perfect for sing along and crowd participation. I can't wait until they can come to North America. Ylva doesn't always sing so prominently. They kill off the poor guy at the end in every video. Most if not all of their music videos are comical and intentionally over the top dramatic. I love it. This is one of my favorite songs from them too!
Thanks!
Hah! BoM! Great review and I agree with you, that there is not so much mind blowing stuff in there like in nightwish or other bands and I think this may be their best trick. They do not try to overwhelm your mind with nuances - although they have that too - and their music is mostly like heavy campfire metal. In essence, they are more a storytelling band about to the Viking mythology and put lots of humor in their performances trying to emphasize the saga's epicness with their songs :D. My absolute favorite song by them is Yggdrasil - it always gets me to the bone. If you ever make a review on that, plz include the intro track "Concerning norns" which is a spoken intro to the Yggdrasil song. (Album: prophecy of ragnarök).
You have to convince Charismatic Voice to listen to them. Her expressions alone would be priceless.
They are super great live
Am I the only one who found it amusing that the intro was Swedish Pagans, as he mentions that Brothers of Metal was against Sabaton in a head-to-head?
Awesome review, thanks! To hear their true diversity of vocals, check out their song and video called "One."
You should make a video checking out Yggdrasil from their first album. It was the first song i heard from them and it made me a Brothers Of Metal fan instantly!
