The issue I’ve got with the Amazon cases is that while they are cheaper, the magnets they use are garbage. It takes a simple nudge to knock the cover off. At least with the one sold by Apple, it’s attached pretty strong.
Funny you say that, I got the ESR case and the magnets are really strong. My IPad Air 4 only falls when I turn it parallel to the ground and shake it hard.
I've got the Smart Folio for 12.9" (UK price £99) and whilst I really don't enjoy the price, I spent around that total on cases that ended up in the bin. On one case the magnet wasn't strong enough and it slipped around, another the case was too flimsy, and the worst one ended up scratching the screen. The Smart Folio is overpriced and has its issues, but it's the best of a bad bunch.
this makes me feel wat beter i bought this case today and got home to see it and thought what an absolute rip off, but oh well atleast i know the magnets will work well
I actually love this case! I have the iPad Pro 11in 3rd gen. The sleek style, feel, grip and quality are far better than Amazon Smart Folio “dupes” I’ve tried. I also find that the Apple folio cleans much easier than the cheap covers, especially when it comes to dirt accumulated over time. I use an alcohol towelette then a microfiber cloth to wipe it dry. And I love how sturdy the foldable stand is compared to other options, and that the folio fits perfectly to the dimensions of the iPad (no excess material going over the edges of the iPad).
I've been searching for case for my iPad Pro 2020 for a month. NONE of them has the same texture and elegant design as this Smart Folio. Just bought the white color one to match my white-ish silver 12 inch iPad. Love it to the max. I detach it to do LiDAR development, watch movies, read mangas, and surfing web. Attach back to this case while drawing game storyboard with Procreate and Pencil. Snap the Pencil easily while taking a break and sip coffee and read my phone. If you're a gentle and careful person, I suggest you to go for this Folio.
@Hun3er Dude I'm not rich. I have my iPad Air 2 until getting a new iPad Pro 2020. If you pay for cheap product, you would have to replace them for every few months, sounds fancy but it's a hard-to-swallow truth. But ergonomically saying, those cases with full-edge-attached covers are so terrible to use, and they get dirty and loose and worn out easily. My new usage style is I detach the iPad easily for all the tasks mentioned above, only attach it back for certain activities. Been using it for 3 months, and it feels damn good than having the full-edge-attached cover.
@Hun3er Protecting it from..? You don't need to flip from one building to another one while holding your iPad right? Yea I'm using Spigen screen protector, but when I use Pencil on it, my drawing hand feels exhausted easily because it's slippery. So I bought Benks matt screen protector, cut it abit to match the glass screen protector size and put on top of it. Loose little but noticeable display quality, but feels good to draw now and I'm kinda abusing it so I can have a reason to tear off the matt protector... Almost having double personality using this iPad...
If you're not an artist and not using Pencil, then go for normal screen protector. DO NOT buy matt protector because yes it will bring down the display quality, less but noticeable, and bring down just a very little touch sensitivity, and it won't sustain for long period because it will get scratches easily. DO NOT buy cheap screen protector as it will bring noticeable noise as well. If you still need Pencil to make notes, I suggest you to buy crystal protector first and use the Pencil. It will do just fine. Do not put matt on top of another screen protector like me... it will bring down display quality drastically.
@Hun3er I used my iPad Air 2 for 5 years... no accident drop lol. Using my iPhone 6 til now dropped three times. No cover and with just a screen protector lol.
Exactly. We tend to have the idea that iPad’s cases have got to be the tough use ones but that’s not true. I just bought the folio and I love it. As well as you I’m a careful person so this is just to great for me. It’s got this delicate and elegant image that is just amazing.
I would actually pick this case over the Amazon variants because you can prop it up like a stand which my old iPad case could do and that the sides exposed allows me to charge my apple pencil with a grip on. Not paying for the logo, it's just that first party accessories work really well with their own products. im a talking fox
Regarding soiling the cover, a person cannot assume it will be hard to clean when you’ve not yet experienced it getting dirty. It’s only an assumption, which I must tell you is incorrect. Apple is a little smarter than to put out a cover that’s going to be hard to clean. Also, please take note of this: “Polyurethane fabric is extremely durable, and because it blocks moisture, stains can often be removed with soap and a soft, wet sponge.”
I love Apple products don’t get me wrong but my son and I purchased an iPad Pro each 5 years ago I had white apple folio case and son had black version . His marked up simply with finger prints and my white one 5 years later looks cleanish and I’ve not been careful of it in any special way I occasionally wipe it with dettol wipes for antibacterial purposes nothing more. So even our beloved apple can get it wrong. I’ve also had leather cases from Apple and they have been brilliant and highly protective for phones and iPad mini etc. Best thing about purchasing apple brand cases is they fit perfectly others don’t in my experience apart from very high end cases that cost more than Apple. Now my conundrum is do I go for a electric orange folio case for my new iPad Pro 2021 12.9 inch which means I can read from my iPad on my lap without it slipping or a seriously expensive magic keyboard cover at over 3x the price…. Drat I want both but that’s not happening on my budget 😂 I loved my 5 year old iPad Pro but new one is wow. Seriously impressive toy
Way too expensive but I'm sure the magnets alone are worth it. I bought about 5 different versions from Amazon and they barely stay up via magnet stand from the folio.
😂😂😂 £99 for magnets? Apple have been sending us subliminal messaging in their adverts lol I’m probably about to purchase magic keyboard/case for iPad Pro 2021 edition which is a crazy price 😮
At $50 I'd consider this. But for the price they're asking for...no way. (haha come to think of it...I've said that about a lot of Apple products I end up purchasing lol).
You can buy a £15 pouch like a Cush Case for carrying this around in a bag when you need all round protection. I needed a case that was minimalist that didn’t wrap around the iPad and was easy to take off, as I like to use the iPad bare unless I need the stand feature. So for me this was perfect.
@@MessiahKnight So are you holding the iPad while performing street dancing? or need to climb to the top of building and flip onto another one with you iPad?

Hi Mate, thank you for this content. I see on websites that the weight of the folio is the same weight more or less of the ipad 11 pro, does this sound right to you? some other youtuber say that it is extra light so the 2 things are not matching up. May you please confirm me if in your hand the case alone weights almost like the ipad 11 pro alone? thanks, have a great day, Max

Used to like my case untill I dropped it and it freaking dented the frame. My reflexes tried catching it from the flap which made it worse and the whole case detach. went from liking to hating. Dont buy
I have a white one for my ipad pro 2017 and a green one for my ipad air 4 and the dirt will not come of the white! i used every cleaning solution known to man and stains will not come of the white and was completely filthy in a week. Waste of money! the green I clean it DAILY and still looks smudged. Big waste of money otherwise its nice
"It's too expensive and wobbly on my stomach" seriously dude? You yourself spent 90% of the video saying what you liked about it. Was that your way of trying to make it seem like your'e being objective? It's beyond me that people think so much of themselves and their opinion that they actually make videos of themselves, particularly when it's an item that's been out for 10 f'n years. I clicked it because I"m buying an iPad right now and I thought maybe something had changed and they made a design that was bad or something. i just got the 2021 ipad pro 12.9 inch (i know i should’ve waited for the 2022 one coming out this year but my mom didn’t want to wait 😒) and i ordered the official pink sand smart folio instead of a regular amazon one because i wanted that embossed apple logo on the back of it ngl 😹

I wish Apple made a leather version of this case, especially at that ludicrous price point!
That would cost $300. Haha
I’ll buy
I was planning on getting smart portfolio and silicon case. Do you think it would work together?? You’re probably wondering… they have some that are like this already. But I’m yet to see one that isn’t a hard shell. If you see smart portfolio/silicon combo… send it my way please
I got mine a knock-off for 3$.
The magnet is worse but everything else Is the same💀
Have you found a case that does work on your chest or stomach?
DONT BUY IT! It s a rip off. I got an apple I pad pro case imitation at the flea market for $20 bucks. Save your money suckers!!
Mine is 12months old and it looks horrible and it hasn’t left the lounge room let alone the house
Used to like my case untill I dropped it and it freaking dented the frame. My reflexes tried catching it from the flap which made it worse and the whole case detach. went from liking to hating. Dont buy
I got mine on Amazon for $16
What case is better
Dang can’t decide if I should get this. I have an otter box but it just adds so much weight to my pro hahah
Great Man Thk
it's not a little bit expensive, it is ridiculously expensive
I have a white one for my ipad pro 2017 and a green one for my ipad air 4 and the dirt will not come of the white! i used every cleaning solution known to man and stains will not come of the white and was completely filthy in a week. Waste of money! the green I clean it DAILY and still looks smudged. Big waste of money otherwise its nice
It’s because cause that
My friend has a pink
I don’t know why I’m watching this I already have a other case
I have one and It’s a white one too 😂 I was scared to get this case but I love.
This is a video with little or no information
Thank you!
I just removed this from my cart. Thanks for the review!
GFY for wasting 6 minutes of my life to review this product that's the same as it's been for a decade.
i just got the 2021 ipad pro 12.9 inch (i know i should’ve waited for the 2022 one coming out this year but my mom didn’t want to wait 😒) and i ordered the official pink sand smart folio instead of a regular amazon one because i wanted that embossed apple logo on the back of it ngl 😹
will this work on the 5th gen?
Does anyone know if this case will fit the 2021 iPad Pro 11 inch model?
to be fair I always buy apple official products, then im covered if anything goes wrong.
I just wonder where can I put my Apple Pencil in this folio???????
I don’t like it my so lame the other case better because more protection
Is this case safety? It looks like my ipad is going to crack in the first drop.
It's not really a case if you are always going places with your iPad. It's more for like occasional home ise
You had issues with the last one also, didn't you?
No I don't think so
Speck Presidio Folio case is so beautiful
what's its weight?
Is it easy to remove. I need to switch daily to put the ipad on a tripod, then put back after.
Yes, probably the easiest case to remove! It’s literally only held in by magnets.
compatible with apple pencil?
@Joshua Jones I actually got the smart folio and it works perfectly with apple pencil
Yes
What color do you recommend for non-binary waffles?
Spending over a grand on an ipad and complaining about their own case. I use my pro without a case but that's just me.
This video makes a lot of assumptions without proper testing.
No it doesn't. See there I told you no assumptions
Bought this kind of magnetic casing and I dropped on the rough floor , the sides got scratch and screen cracked. :(
Massive dub
Lastima que no venga en rojo
You didn’t test it on washboard abs. Of course your stomach doesn’t work with it! *Cmon!*
People use iPads on their stomach?
I love the bed test because that’s exactly where I will be using it❣️ Thank you for the extra content!!
Apple probably makes these without any side protection in hopes you drop it and break it making you go out and buy another tablet
The Apple Tax strikes again
In a mega way lol
My iPad Pro never leaves my home, so I don’t mind it not being fully protected
Indeed, initially I was planning to get something like a rugged UAG case but I knew I was only going to use it exclusively at home to draw a lot, so I just settled with a basic tpu case
The thing is it‘s not even really protected. The sides are fully exposed…
@@YannMar But because it never leaves my home, I do not care. For when it does, I just got a proper sleeve. Best of both worlds imo
clean ur ipad screen
