That was hilarious. Also when he said he doesn’t consent to be tried for murder- LOL!! Then he said repeatedly that he doesn’t consent to the trial, and he doesn’t understand how they can proceed viewing evidence without his consent. And of course how he doesn’t consent to being moved here or there and he doesn’t understand how it can all happen without his permission 😂 I wonder if he currently consents to being imprisoned at Dodge Correctional.

Exactly. That’s what he told Erika earlier in November 2021 when he ran over her with the red suv and broke her foot and leg. Either she accept his proposal of marriage and stop talking to Milwaukee prosecution about the incident; to tell then it was her fault, drop the charges, and pay his bond. Erika didn’t do what he told her so his mom, Dawn paid. Erika was to repay his mom per Darrell. But he threatened to hurt her more even kill her or have her killed. Check with TheSouthernLaw. Darrell is dangerous.

The most revealing insight into how the Jurors will decide was the Covid discussion. Jurors were given a chance to skate out of there by saying they have concerns since two other Jurors came down with Covid. Each one said during thorough questioning by the Judge that they wanted to continue to serve and had no concerns. You could hear in their voices a clear determination to proceed. That’s people from the community determined to see justice done.

My best guess, after listening to a news interview video, from the Boyfriend of the woman who walked to the park with DB's girlfriend -
      He said:
_"I feel bad because after DB had hit her, I called the police. Then DB made a U-turn and came back. I told him to just leave because the cops are on their way. Then I heard the police siren and asked DB if he heard the siren too? I told him again to just leave. DB freaked out and sped off, fearing arrest. I think he was caught in the parade route and just kept going. I don't think he intended to hit people but got himself into the situation. Him being so angry, he freaked out and wasn't able to think clear. So I feel responsible. I shouldn't have warned him and let him get arrested right there."_*

Who would have thought that jury instruction was a combat sport? I think these past few weeks have been very empowering for DB. In many ways, he has been in control of this trial. He was able to stop it, throw a wrench into it, or allow it to go forward without much ado. The judge got a lot of flack in the beginning for being too lenient. But she protected the record, and she tried to protect DB with him kicking and screaming the whole time. Today he discovered that the control he had was illusory. It triggered the hell out of him. Tantrums didn't work, his semantics games didn't work, and twisting the judge's words did not work. I don't know how she did it, but the state was able to try their case.

The judicial system itself is designed to balance written law (legislation) and law execution (penalties). Marijuana is a good example, especially recently. So, as a juror, I would see no problem agreeing to follow the law during jury selection and later nullifying written law-because that is how we keep the law updated, by not enforcing 200-year-old, old, old, irrelevant laws, as yet another example.

Love your coverage on this. The whole headphones saga is him putting himself at the judges level, the way I see it is that the judge mutes him, so he tries to ‘mute’ her back. That’s what that is for me and it’s beyond pathetic. Glad the judge pushed back more today

I have never seen anyone like Darell Brooks. Most mass murderers have a weird calm about them but he is the opposite and just a train wreck. It’s horribly fascinating.

    • @jrodamores87

Probably because most mass murders plan their stuff, whilst Darrell did this stunt like it was just another Tuesday because he was angry at Erika for not letting him control her anymore, and because he was scared of the cops.

Love your recaps! I found you in the JD v AH trial and try listen to you every week depending on the interest I have in the chosen trial. DB is so frustrating and can not imagine what it would be like to have to deal with him face to face. 'I can't hear' and 'I don't understand' is just a new DB chaos tactic. I think the judge was far firmer today, as far as I am concerned she is a superhero!

Brooks is a rotton to the core individual who made a decision to represent himself. It's seems abundantly clear that Brooks assumed that this would give him the opportunity he needs to perform and turn a courtroom into a theatre that suits his needs. Why wasn't Brooks treated exactly the same as an actual defence lawyer? Why was Brooks given so much leeway from day 1, as it was his responsibility to go into the court with the full understanding of both the case and his requirements as a defence lawyer, and he has clearly failed. The Judge had been extremely fair to Brooks although I think overly so, which in turn has unnecessarily created ongoing tensions and argumentative behaviour throughout the trial. The Judge controls the court not the make believe defence lawyer.

Peter, I've already commented but I forgot to add something important and that is - thank you so much for all you do, you always have an unbiased and thoughtful response to questions. I'm not an attorney, I happened across your channel on the 3rd day of the Depp trial I believe it was and I subscribed that day and became a member a bit later which I rarely do. It delights me that your channel has grown at such an awesome rate and it's well deserved as it is so apparent you really love what you do and are an honest guy who loves his family and life in general. I've learned so much about our legal system in general and also details I wouldn't have ever known ( I do wish you'd do a video more on our rights we should be aware of!) and I just want to thank you for being so genuine and such a hard worker who makes learning about the law a lot of fun. I always look forward to you smacking and rubbing your hands together followed by your cheery "What's up guys?!'.

I have a feeling that the judge said to either herself or someone else, "I'm going to wrap this up on Monday."
And she knew that she could use his temper against himself.
This was expertly played and I was cheering for the judge as she was body-slamming him over and over and all he could do was flail wildly in despair.
He's going to deserve every single second that he gets from this jury and I'm hoping that it only takes them less than 90 seconds to bring a guilty verdict.
And the judge is, by provable lawful law, is suuuuuper hot!!
