This was the best one of the three. You can tell they just kept getting better at programming. I loved how you could choose a character at the beginning of a level.
I played the hell out of Super Empire Strikes Back. Never played SRotJ. Finally played it in 2000 at my girlfriends house. By then video games took a huge leap forward. Beat this game in my first sitting no deaths.
I remember renting this from my local video store, i asked the guy if he had any passwords or tips to help out he said "Jump... constantly..." Best advice for this game.
Out of this trilogy of games, this is the one I played first. My grandparents rented this for me and they had to renew the rental because I needed the extra time to beat it 😂 Great memories! And yes...Super Metroid when 😏
@@huginnandmuninn4865 Absolutely! I was raised by my grandparents, and we were really really poor, so it was always a very appreciated treat when they were able to do that. I love them
"Leia, in time, you will learn to use The Force as I have, like, flying in complete vacuum, cheat death and perform whatever stunt the plot needs. These are my words of wisdom. Hush, hush, don't you speak, for I must leave now"

Fantastic job as always UCBVG! I do have a few things I'd like to add. First off, the "Sound Test" code is activated by holding A + X + Y + DOWN and pressing START (holding B is not required). If you hold B, this code will not work, and if you're in debug mode, it will end the stage you're on instead (as that is done by holding A and pressing START). Also, being able to flip the Star Wars logo/intro text crawl is another "effect" of the debug mode code. Also, not sure if you know this but each time you enter the Sound Test menu, you will get a different message (the first one will say "Turn up the volume!" followed by "Play me L O U D!"). There are a total of 16 messages, and they will always appear in the same order, however some of them are repeated and there are only 7 unique messages. I also discovered that most of the game's cheat codes can ONLY be done on the first time the title screen appears after powering on the system. So if you don't enter one of these codes correctly before the title screen fades out (which takes about 10 seconds), you MUST power off the system to try again (pressing RESET or hitting any button during the demo to return to the title screen will NOT work). However, if you press UP or DOWN at any time during the initial title screen, it will "reset" your code entry (if you messed up entering any of your button presses), and this will also reset the 10 second timer as well. Additionally, the debug menu can only be brought up on side-scrolling stages, and the stage skip trick does not work on either of the game's final two flying stages. Lastly, I believe you may have incorrectly entered the the Invincibility code in your video (although your instructions were correct), because whenever you enter the code correctly, you will also see your character's coordinates appear below them (which is another effect of the Invincibility code).
thank you for your content, i remember playing this at friends house when i was younger. learned quickly how efficient the blaster characters were. fighting Vader and the emperor was no joke; def made you earn that win
I once had the entire Super Star Wars Trilogy on my SNES and I traded it for a copy of the SNES port of Chrono Trigger...I did not regret my trade. Honestly, the entire Star Wars anthology needs to have games that are done this way, and maybe things like The Clone Wars, Rebels, Ahsoka, The Book of Boba Fett, and The Mandalorian as well.
That's not David Prowse as the Anakin force ghost, but Sebastian Shaw. Shaw also played Anakin/Vader when Luke unmasked him during his death scene in Return.

Great video as usual, and I’m with you-YubYub is the official ending. Only one small note: it’s actually Sebastian Shaw-the actor who played Anakin in the OT-that we see as a Force ghost. Poor Prowse never got his face shown.
I was looking for this comment! I'm too much of an original trilogy nerd to not call that out. 😋 Though if anyone wants to see a young David Prowse's face, he's the buff bodyguard in the old man's home in last part of the 1971 film _A Clockwork Orange_

This whole SNES trilogy is hard AF. Probably Top5 hardest SNES games ever. I have never beaten any of them (and I HAVE beaten all 3 Ninja Gaidens and Castlevania 1 and 3 on NES).
Prowse wasn't even really the body. He spent less and less time doing it as the trilogy went on. A New Hope was basically the only time he was in the suit the majority of the time. By Jedi he was relegated to maybe a handful of scenes.
I’m sure it’s been mentioned but the Ree Yee Warriors are carrying chairs to throw haha always thought they had a strange mask or something as a kid. Loved this game, was able to actually beat back then, don’t remember if I ever beat Empire, probably not!

I thought Indiana Jones Greatest Adventures was also good in one whole 16 bit cartridge. Super Castlevania was awesome too.
I loved playing bosche Leia. That thermal detonator scene and that bad ass armor you just know she was ready to kick some ass in that suit, but it never happened in the movie.
Disney Adventures magazine published a page of cheat codes for this game back in the day, and it's the first place I ever saw the name Palpatine written out. But they had it written as if it was a location, "Emperor's Palpatine."
The trilogy is complete! These were such fun games. Hard as nails, but absolute blasts. I agree with you - as far as I’m concerned, the original yub nub song at the end is the true ending.
This is eerily apropos, as I just beat this game for the first time in...what, twenty years? I used the code that lets you select all characters for all levels, so naturally, I fought the Emperor with Wicket. Heeheehee. When I moved from my home state, I decided to record every single game that I had beaten (that I'd never beaten before), and just yesterday, I reached number ONE THOUSAND. The game in question?
