@@Dporticus oh sorry for calling u cody ur names josh right someone was called cody who I use to watch looked bit like u so got both ur names muddled it
This has the unique scenario of a newer fan not embarrassed or hesitant to ask about the basics, and a professional willing to answer. I don't know if i've ever seen something like this before, in a pro wrestling space. really cool!
Exactly! This is like a bright, humble, wide-eyed neophyte respectfully sitting at the knee of a thoughtful, gracious veteran warrior and truly appreciating the knowledge. I ate this interview up like FOOD! Great job, my young friend!😊
Dijak is great. I really enjoyed this interview. I've only seen him wrestle live once. I got to see him and Swerve in a NXT dark match in Seattle. Time flies but I think that show was before the pandemic.
When you asked us for the questions I thought it’ll lead to an interview with someone who wrestles but is still unknown to the major audience. Never in my wildest dreams would I think it’ll be an interview with one of my old-NXT’s favorites!!! Thank you so much for that. Great work!
Dijak always seems like the "total package" to me. And he obviously "gets it". I was so surprised that they couldn't find anything to do with HIM!🤯What is going on??!!
Amazing interview!!! Both in the question selection, treatment of the guest, and the guest themselves being comfortable enough to be as open and honest as he is. Big respect to the both of you.
This was great. I'm glad he talked about his psychology when it comes to selling the idea of reality in a match. I agree that it is definitely much easier to get invested in a match when it feels real and not like the wrestlers are moving from spot to spot. I have definitely noticed that in the past and, even if the match is good or impressive, it always takes me out of it. I would love for more wrestlers to work on that aspect because that is just as important as being able to do awesome moves or cut great promos imo.
I feel like I can sit and listen to wrestlers talk alll daaaay!! I love hearing this stuff!! I watch wrestling differently now that I'm older (more of a cool spot but please be careful lol) but I love to hear how they work to do amazing things for us in real time, no room for errors or do overs! Thats why I get annoyed when people are like oh they botched here, screw that nobody is perfect and what they are doing at the level they do it at is insane!! Appreciate this chat with Dijak!
This has to be one of the best wrestling interviews in a long time. Interviews are so much better from the persepctice of, "I want to learn new things from you and your experience." Wrestling interviews these days are usually from the perspective of, "Look how much I know, now validate it with your experience."
Awesome interview hope you get to do more of these. Unique questions that Dijak seemed to really enjoy talking about and explaining. Definitley gonna check out the patreon interview ✌️
Man, Dijak is a TRUE professional. DP, this interview was amazing, and seeing you get all into the conversation and legit grinning from ear to ear about this stuff is so pure. You're a real one man, Thank you!
Love Dijak so much, he absolutely deserves to be back on the main roster, he killed it in NXT and was stucked behind a mask as T-Bar on RAW for months. Having him on your channel was a great idea
I'm so glad this conversation happened. Internet marks have such a cartoonish understanding of how the business actually works. It's great that Dijak is willing to come on and actually smarten some these fans up to how things really play out. 10:20 - i wish he would have said "selling" instead of "acting" because WAY too many fans think "selling" simply means pretending to be hurt after a move, when there is WAY more to it than that. He is 100% correct about people just "going through motions" now a days though... it seems like too many people in modern era never actually learned how to "work" ... its like they got through the basics of training and were throw into matches at small indy shows where nobody was able to correct the bad habits, and the fans at those indy shows think they are "smart" so they are more worried about how cool the moves looked and feeling like part of the show, than caring how authentically it was presented. He is so right about blending the old school fundamentals with the new school athleticism.... that would be a dream come true. That is what i originally hoped AEW was going to be, but i dont think 80% of that company has ever been taught the fundamentals, including Tony. 17:00 - there was not nearly enough swearing or sound effects in this example. 🤣 I think wrestlers talking about this kind of stuff with die hard fans is actually good for the business... because then the die hard fans will actually have a better understanding of what they are watching, rather than what they presume to understand. 26:04 - i completely agree with Dijak on this also. Moments in wrestling matter more when they are seen less and sold strong. This was a super cool interview. I feel like Dijak would be a great dude to just chill at a bar with.
This was a very good interview. I really love to hear Dijak talk to passionately about wrestling . He has such a good insight , psychology , he's vry humble and chill. He's a great person . Love him .❤
I run a small wrestling RUclips channel called Ringsiders Wrestling, we've done over 300 interviews in the last 5 years. I've got to say you're a natural at interviewing wrestlers and I'd love to see you do more. This is better than any I've done personally. In fact, I'd love to get you on the show one day to talk about your journey so far.
Seven minutes in and I think y'all just explained why everyone wants to be the champion. You actually get creative plans for your character. It's not just a storyline, they want them belts!
@Normansmileyfan lol all of my peers have been watching for their entire lives, 20-30+ years. I feel comfortable using that label for videos that are specifically based around me learning.

I've been lucky enough to see a few of Dijack's recent matches at a small promotion in New England, not even 15 feet from the ring. Always a good time
Loved the experiences he shared. What a great storyteller!

Dijak is probably one of the current wrestlers who is the best at doing "flippy" wrestling without abandoning the traditions of wrestling logic.
