Absolutely right brother!!! You’ve got to test the tire in first second and third gear, with different roll speeds in second and third as well. Terrible review
Unlike anything you've used, you simply cannot review a tire you've not used lol. I like the channel and the content but these tire reviews are far from being an actual review.
Toyo Proxes are a win every time! Keep up the great reviews on tires and wheels. Giving away this "free" content builds a more knowledgable user base which enables your future/perspective buyers the chance to make more informed choices off the rapport you built with them here. You guys are killing it! Let's hear about the BF Goodrich Sport Comp 2 tires soon! I also would recommend a "top 5 affordable tires for drifting" video.
Running these with a stage 1 stretch on my rocket bunny Miata. 225/50/15 on 15x10.5 in the rear and 195/50/15 on a 15x9 in the front. Daily these things and love them!
I have these tires on my e92 M3. I track them and daily drive them and absolutely love these tires. Usually only ran with michelin pilot super sport and 4s but I like these better. There is a little road noise but nothing I can really hear over my exhaust lol. Highly recommend these tires not to mention they look badass.
MCR-86 Glad to hear! My brother n law recommended these as he had him them on his M5 And loved them!they are going on my 88 Mustang Saleen which I only drive weekends and to car shows but I’m looking to hook up better and also like the look, I was just a little worried because the video said they need to heat up and I’m not really going to the track with them..thnx!
I dont have lots of XP with other tire models, however I used to drive on R888's(the predecessor) on track and the grip is fenomenal. They were pretty durable on my 1000kg Civic. I could feel the tire warm up for about 1 and a half minutes and after the 2nd minute I was all out on the track. At the same time, the tires were not fading too quickly and I hardly felt them overheat. They helped me get on the podium few times. Great tire, 100% would recommend.
They are great, Ive had Conti ProContacts, Conti ExtremeContacts, Firestone Indy 500 Ovals and Bridgestone Potenza 760 sports on my car, They are only slightly less grippy than the potenzas but more grip than both the contis but the wet grip is twice as good as the bridgestones and about the same as both the contis. Honestly if you are looking for a performance tire on a car you are dailying Indy 500s are the best option. They have good drivability in the rain and really great dry performance at a pricepoint that is hard to beat. I would highly recomend.
James Lord Are you just going to be dailying it? How much to you value tire life. Are you willing to sacrafice wet performance? How much will budget be a deciding factor for your tire choice?
Planning to do these on my C7 Z06 rears only matched with Toyo T1R or T1 Sports on fronts. I am hoping having quieter fronts helps noise but the tires are for maximum straight line performance on daily driver.
Nankang AR1 man, great tire and cheap. I lve ran both the R888R and the AR1 and prefer the Nankang. Gets to temp faster, sticks more and cost half as much. One draw back they wear a bit faster...
@@adaryltwillie4784 Yeah, if I was smart I'd do a BRZ or Miata or something. Haven't been accused of being smart too much, haha. I'm running a 2015 Challenger. It's fun, but it is a challenge, LOL.
@@ScoutPL haha we are both definitely out the box same here with a 2015 challenger going towards a mountain touge build and absolute bully lighter cars in the twisties.I would recommend the Goodyear supercar3 very easy to warm up and they just grip and grip very predictable and wear almost as good as the pilot sport 4s and just dial it in with lots of front camber
2nd these tires. Have them on my car now and they heat up fast. Just a quick drive around the block and these things are warm. These are more of an auto-x tire than the R888Rs but doesn't mean you can't track day them as I have done that. Very happy with these tires and will buy another set.
At 2:12 in the video you said it’s a tyre you wouldn’t want to stretch. Does that mean if I go for a 295 or 305 35/R19 on a BMW F82 that original runs from factory 275/35/R19 rear would be a little stretching . I have a set of 275/35/R19 R888R on my rear but I was planning on going 305/35/R19 next swap. I am considering whether I should get a larger wheel
Is Alex planning on doing some track days? I know the Milwaukee Track Day guys do track day at least once a month on a Thursday. With the Milwaukee Mile at risk of closing down, it'd be a good idea to run the track at least once before they finalize on what they want to do with the track in June.
Im in Love with these tires. I had them on my Audi for the track. I’m planning on getting them for my Evo. But I’m wondering how they perform in rain/on wet road. So how do they perform there ?
What size fronts did Alex run with the 305/30/19 on the rear? I see they have the 245/35/19 available for R888 but this combination leaves .5" difference in diameter. Were there any codes that were thrown? Abs, TC, etc...?
I need new tire for my C63 AMG 2013, I’m between khumo ps91/ pilot sport4/ contisportcontact 5// I’m thinking also to put semi slick like those r888r or khumo v720, is it a good idea put semi slick to a daily? Looks so good
💥💥 If the operating temperature is 160-220 what does it take on the street to heat them up to that and how poorly will they handle and grip when they are not that hot.?? You kinda expect a semi-slick to be great on the track, and it is ... in the dry. I ran these on my 370Z on a damp day and almost killed me. I'd advise the Pilot Sport 4's for a daily or the Cup 2 for track. Both will get you home safely (ran the Pilot sport 4's in snow BTW)
Yea these tires are meant for dry conditions. That’s why other sport tires have long treads in them. The Toyo sports are the ones that are good for the dry/wet. These are more like slicks but will stick to the ground like a magnet on a hot dry day
